Depends on the situation when you left and why you left. If your leaving created any bad blood then I'd advise against it because that lingering bad blood will make working there difficult. Also if you left because of your pay package and the situation has not changed or you are not being hired at a higher level than before then expect the management to treat your compensation with a hot poker.

Ideal situation for why you would go back would be because they want you back at a higher position or are prepared to offer you a better package. Anything short of that just stay away, it's gonna get uncomfortable for you.
