Christianity Etc › Re: Atheists In The House, What's The Source Of Your Morality? by LordReed(m): 2:51pm On May 02 |
SIRTee15: To avoid all those confusion, that's why we appeal to a higher power to clarify morality. When is killing evil and when is it acceptable? Higher power gives guidance. His guidance is what we call absolute morality
That's why I'm asking u what is the source of your morality, otherwise morality will become relative, what one consider evil will be considered good by another.
How do we come to that rational conclusion that this is good or bad without a definite source of morality. His guidance cannot be considered ABSOLUTE since it also changes depending on circumstances. Maybe you should call it something else like DIVINE COMMAND. We come together to resolve those moral conflicts using some "measurable" indices. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Atheists In The House, What's The Source Of Your Morality? by LordReed(m): 1:40pm On May 02 |
SIRTee15: then u dont understand morality. Is killing moral? any killing at all?
I think u appealed to philosophy- something like deep thinking I already answered that- if atheist deep thinking led them to conclude teenage sex is ok, why is your deep thinking in the opposite direction. It is you who doesn't understand what they are saying. You claimed some moral action will be right or wrong relative to certain conditions then still say it is absolute, that is a clear contradiction. Killing can be moral or immoral depending on the circumstances. I didn't appeal to anything I gave you the source of morality. Our differences in coming to different conclusions need to be resolved. |

They fix the mistake you made only when you pay for it. They make spare parts because their cars are not perfect and long lasting. But God created us perfect and long lasting, so no spare parts needed as many people here already proven.
So, you are only repeating yourself Bwahahahahaha! Perfect and long lasting indeed. So perfect you have people born without limbs which your god cannot fix nor can he fix the myriad of health problems people encounter in their life time. He can't even prevent death. Your god is a fraud. LoLz. Because, you define Christian as people who pray and go to church, whereas God knows those who are worshiping Him and He always pours many many blessings on them so they don't need to go through this shi.. LoLz. Which of them will not die, point them out let's see. Bwahahahahaha! |
Christianity Etc › Re: Old Age & God by LordReed(m): 6:21am On May 02 |
Gabrielshow26: You’re still stuck on the car-maintenance mindset. You’re essentially demanding that the manufacturer come out to the driveway and change a tire just to prove they exist. Whereas the maker has already promised to replace the entire car with an indestructible model when the lease is up, hence, they don't need to perform 'camera-stunts' to keep you happy now🤷.
I believe Biblical miracles weren't just repairs; they were previews of the final restoration—showing what the 'new model' looks like. This theme is prevalent in the Bible. By the way, If God gave a public sign every time someone pointed a camera, He’d be a mechanic on call, not the Creator. He doesn't need to 'fix' a limb for your camera today because He’s already planned to restore the whole person forever🤔. Faith isn't 'medicine after death'. It's the registration for the total upgrade He’s already guaranteed. Another after death purveyor. Come lemme sell you are house you'll occupy after you are dead. LoLz. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Old Age & God by LordReed(m): 9:42pm On May 01 |
Gabrielshow26: Ironically, your own analogy actually vindicates God in the sense that car maker(s) provide(s) spare parts because the car is a closed system that eventually fails and is discarded. The manufacturer cannot "resurrect" a crushed car; they can only replace its components until the frame itself gives out. Your analogy, contrary to your opinion, just highlights that God doesn't "fix" us with spare parts because He isn't interested in just keeping an old machine running. According to the Bible, He offers a complete restoration.🤔 That I think is the difference.
I also believe that God’s "silence"🤨 or refusal to intervene in every minor "mistake" isn't a lack of power, but a display of ultimate confidence🤔. If you know you can bring someone back from the dead (like the "bones being made whole" or the resurrection), a temporary "breakdown" isn't a permanent failure🤷. From His omnipotence He can bring us back. That's the crux of the Christian belief—The existential belief that God can raise us up and can redeem us no matter how irredeemable the circumstances may seem. LoLz. Medicine after death. Death the state which there is no coming back from. That is why you lot hide your god there. His silence shows he doesn't exist. Your god is purpoeted to have raised people from death and restored withered limbs but in this day and age where cameras exist in every house now your god is silent. Poppycock. |

Dtruthspeaker: Car makers know their cars are not perfect. God made His perfect only for the idio car to go and put palm oil in its petrol tank and then it got sick from diseases and dies. Why would God move an inch.
Even your car makers warn you that their warranties do not cover self inflicted shii..., so you guys have to ☠️. Even car makers will fix a mistake the user made but your wimp of a god is too dumb to do anything. Car makers even make spare parts for their products but your all powerful god is too dull to figure out how to do that. You are talking about parents who are praying to Him only because your doctors and their jujus did not work, you expect God to answer? Or people who have already said that they shall never have anything to do with Him since their govts and parents are taking care of them. Hunger, house rent, cancer should wiper all of una off Right, the parents who have been Christians all their lives are only praying now. The nonsense you people have to make up to defend your beliefs is astounding. |
Pets › Re: I Can’t Relax Since I Got This Chameleon… Meet Nova by LordReed(m): 6:00pm On May 01 |
mgamelia: I’ll be honest—I knew this wasn’t the safest decision. But when I saw Nova, I couldn’t walk away. She’s tiny. Like, really tiny. About an inch long, and somehow already running my entire routine.
The first few days? Pure stress. I kept checking on her every hour. Is she eating? Is the humidity right? Is she even okay? If you’ve ever owned a micro chameleon, you know exactly what I mean.
What surprised me most is how sensitive they are. A small mistake—like slightly low humidity or missing a feeding—can become a serious issue fast. I’ve tested this myself, and honestly, this is where things got real. I had to slow down, adjust everything, and start paying attention to details I used to ignore.
Why Nova Keeps Me on Edge
These tiny chameleons don’t give you obvious signs. No loud warnings. No dramatic behavior. Just subtle changes. One day she’s active, the next she’s still—and that’s enough to make your heart drop.
For example, I noticed she skipped a meal. Normally, that might not seem like a big deal. But with Nova, it is. That’s when I started tracking everything—feeding, misting, even her movements.
Still, it’s not all stress. There’s something incredibly rewarding about caring for such a delicate creature. When she moves, slowly and carefully, it feels like you’re watching something rare.
Would I recommend it? Honestly—only if you’re ready. This isn’t a casual pet. Nova taught me that fast. I lived in Sokoto for awhile and saw lots of chameleons so I am surprised humidity is an issue. Might it be the species of chameleon? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Atheists In The House, What's The Source Of Your Morality? by LordReed(m): 5:57pm On May 01 |
SIRTee15: Did I dispute with u that morality is not relative? My morality is absolute to me and all other christians BUT relative to others. That's not the issue.
pork is forbidden in Islam, it's considered immoral to eat pig. other faith dont care. If u ask mMuslims, they will tell u they derive that morality from a higher power. polygamy is forbidden in christianity but not in islam or hinduism eating cow is frowned upon in hindusim but not christianity or islam. everyone will tell u what's forbidden in their faith comes from a higher power. THEY DERIVE THEIR MORALITY FROM A HIGHER POWER, IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THESE HIGHER POWERS DONT ALWAYS AGREE. THAT'S NOT THE ARGUMENT HERE.
so what's the point about your relative morality.
It's like u guys dont understand my queation.
whether morality is absolute or relative, that's not the issue. My question is what is the source of your relative or absolute morality?
as a conservative atheist (as one of u called himself here), if u think teenage sex or homosexuality is wrong, where did u derive that morality from?
of course atheist living in liberal societies dont see a big deal in this things because they derive their morality from liberal secularism.
so if u as an atheist living in conservative society see homosexuality and teenage/carefree sex as wrong, what is the source of that morality.
thats my question. It is not absolute to you because you gave conditions for which it is right or wrong. If it was absolute then there would not be any conditions in which it would be right, it would ALWAYS be wrong. Bro I answered your question in my first response to you on this thread. Check it. |

TV01: People come up with changes that advance humanity and they are responsible if others decide to use them in harmful or destructive way?
Yes my God is all powerful, knows all things and is everywhere present. Why should He do anything to prevent suffering to those who refuse to acknowledge Him, wilfully disobey His commands, nor seek or serve Him. Your demand is that He do good as you see it and on your terms .
Wait.
TV Car makers can make cars without any safety features yet they continually strive to make cars safer. Why is your god such a wimp he cannot do the same? A child born with cancer, other life ending conditions or conditions that guarantee suffering for their life time did what to deserve that? All the parents of such children who continually pray to your god and never get any answer don't deserve one even though they don't wilfully disobey his commands? What of all the children who die of hunger every year they don't deserve pity from your god? Why do you people believe such sick things? |

SIRTee15: Something that's in the bible !!!!!
Polygamy is permitted and marriage bed undefiled are both derived from the bible. You didn't answer the question. Do you realise this is relative morality you just admitted to? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Atheists In The House, What's The Source Of Your Morality? by LordReed(m): 9:31am On May 01 |
SIRTee15: polygamy is not a sin according to the bible, anything God permit cannot be a sin though not expedient and not part of the original covenant btw God and man.
hebrew 13.4 makes it clear marriage bed should be undefiled. any sexual act outside the marriage bed is a sin. masturbation is sexual pleasure without a partner- that's outside of the marital bed. If u want masturbate, invite your partner and do it in his/her presence. note- your partner must willingly agree to it, approve of it and must derive sexual pleasure from the act. anything outside of this a sin/sexual abuse/sexual cohesion. Bro do you realise you just admitted to relative morality? |

Irrespective of the state or condition, He has the power to redeem it. The other reason that comes to mind is that He respects man's autonomy. After suffering and death right? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Old Age & God by LordReed(m): 7:35pm On Apr 30 |
Dtruthspeaker: Being powerful does not mean servitude especially when you have been given the sense to guide yourself. And all the sufferings you see are manmade as men like you told God to leave them alone, that you have sense to manage and rule yourselves. So now He has left you alone and your kings and managers have caused you the suffering you see. So you all are reaping the fruits of your labours and you are supposed to. Good then quit telling us to worship your god since you think he has no responsibility towards us. |
