tommy589: What should children be doing when parents are out looking for daily bread,is it not to be reading books. If every child here have the same standard of living and are not learning on empty stomach.Pay teachers well, bring the same curriculum and set daily volume of school work that keeps them away from games, television and Internet browsing. Grade them accordingly, they have no choice than to achieve results in the same manner The saying all fingers are not equal will still apply. Even with the same upbringing and opportunities you will still have difference between children in terms of educational capacity because their brains are not uniform. |

OriOko88: For me I will root for Lion. because A lion is an experienced fighter. Iv watched a clip where a single lion singlehandedly brought down a Buffalo 🐃. Iv also seen strong Alfa male lion brought down two hynas in a show of dominance.
A tiger being adapted to forest and not the grass land may find it difficult to bring down a lion because it's not used to bringing down big games like buffalos and zebras like lions usually do.
So my money is on the lion. This is not about size but seer agility and raw power. 9 out of 10 times a tiger has won in a fight against a lion. The odds are highly against a lion winning. |

In general, beware of the words of astrophysicist Robert Jastrow in his 1978 book, God and the Astronomers:
"For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountains of ignorance, he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries."
In quoting this, I mean to suggest that many ordinary and spiritual people already have experience of that which you seek. It may be but I mean for it to be unambiguous. |

Theawakensoul: Exactly, brother, that’s the part many people overlook.
It’s not just about worship or fear. It’s about the human mind trying to make the unknown feel familiar.
Throughout history, whenever humans encountered something they couldn’t explain, thunder, the sun, death, dreams, the ocean, they naturally projected human traits onto it: gods who get angry gods who talk gods who walk gods who sit on thrones gods who need offerings gods with emotions like jealousy, rage, pleasure, and regret
It’s not that these forces actually had human traits… It’s that we interpreted them through the only lens we had, ourselves.
That’s why practically every ancient culture created gods that looked and behaved like human beings: Egyptian gods Greek gods Norse gods Yoruba orishas Hebrew angels and Yahweh in the Old Testament
It’s a psychological pattern, not a literal description of the Divine. And that’s the whole point of this topic:
If God is Spirit and beyond form, then the human-shaped personality given to Him in religion says more about humans than about God.
We project our nature onto the universe because it’s the only language we understand.
Your comment captures that perfectly.
Peace, clarity, and higher awareness, brother. TheAwakenSoul I sincerely hope in my lifetime humans will learn to communicate fully with some other being that isn't human so that we can learn something new. |

PureSperm: Good morning Nairalanders, Please there's this issue that has been bothering me for a while now. There's this lady whom I met and have been dating for about 3 years now.
Though we've been doing alright all these while but suddenly she started having dreams concerning my family. Last night, she had a dream and she said inside the dream, my elder sister was berating her why she hasn't gotten pregnant for me all these while.
The truth of the matter is that we've only been cohabiting for 8 months and she hasn't for once missed her period.
Whenever we made love, I always noticed that she'd go the bathroom to pee and wash her private part. I have asked many elderly people around what that means and they keep telling me she doesn't want to get pregnant. Is that even possible at all?
The other disturbing part is that her mother is a traditional religious woman who worships the gods of her village and my woman also does the same. Recently I've been considering on how to marry her and have even been working towards it, and would be around March, next year.
Please, Nairalanders, what could be the problem. Should I go ahead with the whole relationship, considering how her family background is surrounded by the traditional religious practices of her family and how fetish she's. Could that also be the reason she has been finding it very difficult to take in?
Please mods, help me push this to the front page so that I can hear from others experiences and get a wider advise on how to go about this. Y'all are way too superstitious. This is regular hygiene for a woman, there's no fetishism about what she is doing. Even you as a man are supposed to pee and wash your private part. It is good hygiene oga! |

giftson102: There is one banking truth in this country that will shock you. And the banks will never tell you this.
Because it is one of the biggest tools they use to debit people’s accounts without warning. And Nigerians, out of fear and ignorance, think it is normal.
But this is not normal. It is illegal. And you can sue the bank or report them to CBN.
Let me explain it clearly.
You see that thing that someone will send you money and the bank will automatically deduct or take all of the money for loan repayment?
By law, no bank in Nigeria has the right to debit your account for any loan repayment unless you signed a written debit mandate.
Not “verbal agreement.” Not “you applied on the app.” Not “the loan officer said so.” Not “you clicked accept.” Not “we assumed you agreed.”
Even if you are owing Billions, there must be a clear, documented, signed mandate giving the bank permission to take money from your account before they can legally do so.
This is a Central Bank of Nigeria consumer-protection rule, and it protects Nigerians from unauthorized deductions, intimidation, and exploitation.
So why do banks get away with illegal debits?
Because most Nigerians don’t know the law. (I don’t know why no musician has produced “Show Me the Law Song” we need such a song because most Nigerans don’t know the law.)
Most people don’t know they even have this right. Most don’t know debit mandates must be signed physically or digitally with proper documentation. Most don’t know they can challenge the deduction. Most don’t know they can demand the signed mandate. Most don’t know the bank must refund if the mandate doesn’t exist.
So the banks take advantage of the ignorance.
They debit you from another account. They take money from your salary account. They clean out your savings. They go into dormant accounts. Some even enter joint accounts. And when you complain, they intimidate you with technical language.
“System flagged your account.” “Your BVN is linked.” “It’s part of the loan terms.” “It was in the app.”
But the law remains:
Without a signed, specific debit authorization, the bank has no legal right to touch your money.
None.
What you can do starting today: -Ask your bank to show you the signed debit mandate on any loan you owe.
-If they cannot produce it, request an immediate refund.
-If the bank refuses, report them directly to CBN Consumer Protection: cpd@cbn.gov.ng
-Attach your bank statement and complaint. -CBN usually forces the bank to refund the unauthorized deduction.
Banks fear CBN queries more than anything else.
Know your rights, but most importantly, pay your debts. The reason no one goes around shouting show me the law is because brute force rules in Naija so unless you also have brute force backing you, your show me the law spiel might just end you in a deeper hole. |

Theawakensoul: Thank you, @LordReed You actually understood the point clearly. Humans naturally project their own traits onto whatever they worship or fear. It’s a psychological pattern, not a divine blueprint.
Peace and Love Brother. TheAwakenSoul But it isn't only things we worship or fear we project our nature onto. I think it is things we have little or incomplete understanding of especially things we like to think have agency. Theawakensoul: You keep responding with accusations instead of addressing the actual point, so let me simplify this:
1️⃣ “God created us to be like Him.” Being “like” does not mean having the same physical shape.
If God is Spirit: Spirit is not flesh Spirit is not bones Spirit is not a human body
Saying “in His image” has been interpreted in many traditions to mean: consciousness awareness the ability to perceive creative capacity
Not a human-shaped body.
So your argument assumes the conclusion you’re trying to prove.
2️⃣ “He that planted the ear, shall He not hear?” You’re reading anthropomorphic language literally.
The Bible uses: metaphors analogies poetic expressions
When it says God “hears,” “sees,” “speaks,” “walks,” those are human descriptions used to communicate spiritual ideas.
If God literally had human ears, eyes, nose, and limbs, then God would be a physical organism, not Spirit.
That directly contradicts Scripture itself: “God is Spirit.”
Spirit ≠ human anatomy.
3️⃣ Calling me “antichrist” does not make your argument stronger. When someone has no logical response, they switch to: labels threats accusations fear language
That is not spiritual insight, it is emotional reaction.
4️⃣ You still have not answered the actual question: If God is Spirit, how does Spirit have: a head eyes ears hands feet nostrils a throne a physical sitting posture
These are symbolic descriptions, not literal biology.
5️⃣ My point remains: Religion gives God a human personality and human shape because humans interpret the infinite through their own lens.
Consciousness teaches that Source is formless, not limited to human attributes.
Until you address that, you’re not debating, you’re defending your belief.
I’m not here to fight you. I’m here to point out a contradiction you have not resolved.
TheAwakenSoul Even though I don't think people can actually define what a god is I largely agree with your write up. Humans are notorious for anthropomorphising everything our mind conceives. Even the aliens in outer space we have never met have already taken human form in our popular scifi tales. All our folktales are of animals and other things behaving like humans. I think we are so lost in our own heads we can't help it. |
