PeaceJoyLove: See, you will have to armour yourself against lots of criticism. Why? You are trying to educate non innovative minds.
I realised after all that Alhaji Aliko Dangote is the biggest money player protector of his business via spending on or bribing govt. And one day, monkey go go market, it no go come back. MKO too entered his own one chance with IBB. Lol. Even after becoming a good friend with Bill Gates, and as at that time he started building his refinery...if he is a forward looking person,....hmmm. he shouldn't have done that refinery. Bad business in every area. But he cannot look forward even the govt cannot look forward. The rate of poverty in the north will be crazy very soon. Why? Cos they cannot look forward. And those in SS amd SE where oil is will suffer cos they have so relied on oil. You dont rely on natural resources. We should have used oil money a long time like Dubai, but no...we keep looting cos we believe it will not finish.
The best to happen to Nigeria is Buhari. Let him finish all. I pray he bastardized all faster. And look at the idiootaaa who are still running the affairs of Nigeria. Thise people still celebrating IBB that should not be celebrated and avoided by all means? Everyone knows who IBB is.. that evil genius? Let Buhari run down Nigeria faster. Then, having public office will ne unpopular because there will be nothing to loot again. Only after then can we start building. Only then can we start using our brains.
Look at the people we are educating using jobs in the market as a criterion to debate that there is no job saturation. Lol. Cos they are passed the jobs that indians dont do again. So, they think if there was no Covid-19, they will even see that job advert at all? Lol.
Let's talk about nairaland also. Just look at how the giant is like. Very relaxed cos no innovative people. You see guys copying BBC, CNN, ABC front page, and would come here to ask for people tonrste them. Lol. And you read, good, excellent....lol...i checked one and it took almost forever for pictures to load...lol..While their colleagues are building and configuring machines elsewhere. EU is looking their ways to pick them and use them, and they dont think at all the direction they are going. Why will they not get visa now when they signed contracts people like Phillip Osondu, Taribo West signed. Lol. Those ones signed life slavery contracts. That was what affected Jay Jay too. Not that Jay Jay didnt know what was good, but he was affected by Nigerians around him who could not look forward. You cannot even compare Ronaldinho with him. He wore number 10 even while dinho was with him in PSG. And dinho himself always say that JayJay is baba. Maybe they should ask Oliver Khann the world best goalkeeper the humiliation he suffered in the legs of JayJay. Lol. Till date, Khann cannot forget it. Lol.
When you are in the same society with non forward looking people it's a big problem. It is today they always talk about. Look at Preye Silva announcing Nigeria has discovered gas again...and celebrating it while the signal is there that the whole world is moving away from it. So, is the market closed now? So why are we saying oil is era is gone despite the income ifs still be giving us? Only non forward looking people will not see what is going on.
So, just continue educating them. One keeps shouting salesforce when its AI that is used in what made it sophisticated, and there are about 20 competitors out there. He said those ones are nothing. I laughed. In the next 3 years, I'm waiting to see the innovation thise ones will come up with and let Salesforce be in charge.
We are telling them that AI is core engineering which is used to build, they're shouting that the products AI built are better than AI used to build them. I mean only a non forward looking person thinks like that. Nigeria doesn't make you know what is going on. And I keep telling them that they are so lucky cos in my days, we have no access to what makes one escape poverty like this. Our only means was to just hustle it out via student Visa. But unfortunately, oluwole and scammers hijacked it, perfected the stuff and started sending useless people out. US also played very well into their hands by awarding criminals more visas. They blocked genuine people. But look at how the UK, EUs, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada have all corrected it. But nope, the US has refused to cos of the money they get from visa applicants .....lol. and they got what they truly deserve. If not for covid19, those crazy Bs visa categories will still be the main thing. Over 98% of those who have B class are not the true brilliant Naijas. Bunch of idiotasss who packaged Oluwole (fake documents)..
The UK visa which used to be like the US has changed. Only genuine people are allowed to go there.. when you have to make deposits before moving. Only genuine people pay first. Those agberos dont go there again.
I dont know what to expect Nigeria will be in the next 30 years if most youths think like these ones. It is obvious we will slide down seriously. It worries me and it is a big concern. Every Nigerian is about today. Look at Damgote...in 2021 still battling to build a refinery. Imagine. A refinery kind of business should serve one for a century. But imagine building what will not yield much again in 10 years. Does it mean no income will be generated from it even in 20 years? Probably not. But that kind of money should have been invested in the future. He is investing in what is becoming obsolete cos we are still making money from it today..what a pity?
I think I talked about this Tesla bot yesterday. Na to buy one sharply. Or may like 10 so that I can configure them to do my stuff. There is a business I quit cos of ma.d workers. Doing restaurant business is gonna be cool again with these bots. No more dealing with thieves and eaters of success. You can imagine nursing moms not having to deal with demonic house helps who poison food with bleaching agents like the one we read about yesterday. What a relieve for new mothers. Good morning sir.... pls sir I'm currently learning data analysis but with the current thread that it will be obsolete in the coming few years. Sir I'll love to start learning data science, machine learning and AI...sir what is the learning path to follow? Is it only python and SQL that will make me relevant in the industry? |

The true feeling of medical school
I used to think that being a medical student is always gonna be filled with happiness, roses everywhere. I thought that the struggle will end after getting admission, considering how tough it is to get a slot in any Nigerian medical school . I was wrong!!.
Becoming a medical student was thrilling, u wear lab coats in your 100l,take selfies in them, discover how damn good u look in them, your people changes your name to "doc". Your friends look at you like u are already established in life grin u blow through your 100l courses as a boss and came out victorious [I had a CGPA of 4.8 wink].you get promoted to 200l,in most schools, like mine you move out of the main college campus into the Universities college of medicine. U feel like a true boss.
200l
You enter full of confidence, thanks to your year one results, you become a motivational speaker, telling people that God has little or no part to play in your academics ,that you are a living testimony, that all you have to do is just read and read and read!...... No lecturer will fail a student that wrote the correct answer (which is true). Your seniors over heard you and your preaching, calls you to a corner and asks you to repeat what you just said to make sure their ears was not playing tricks on them, with loud audacity, u explain the same thing to them, they laughed out loud and gave you a very important advice that any medical student should know "medical school is not only by reading and reading, there is something called hardwork and smartwork,u need both to survive in this college....and lastly always come to your seniors to learn from their mistakes to enable you not to fail where they did".
You look at them nodded your head and said in your heart "they don't know the kind of stuff I am made of " cool. Time flies by, you dodge lectures only to lock yourself in your room to read, you didn't meet your seniors ,you didn't even know the name of your lecturers, when you eventually come to class maybe because of attendance, you laugh at those girls that love staying in the front row and asking the lecturer questions... You see the note they copied while the lecturer was dictating as a waste of time, when there are millions of textbooks to feast on .
Finally exam day came (not the main exam though) they call it "in course " it carries 100questions which contributes 10mrks to your 2nd mb... You will take three of those incourse before the main exam.
You enter the exam hall with confidence bubbling in you, you discovered that it was not hard but tricky..you discovered that most of those questions were somehow structured ..you came out told yourself that maybe this was a general problem.you meet people asking them how was the exam, most people said that they have killed them, some said it was OK... But no body said it was simple, then you concluded that it was a general something..... Time flew..... Finally the results came out.
You flash your eyes through the notice board, u discovered that mediocre scores were not plenty, you now wondered why people were saying that the exam was tough, you searched for yours ,on seeing your score, you had a cardiac fibrillation ,on the other hand you were still grateful at least you passed... 50/100 is not that bad right ? You asked your self, so you looked for the highest score, only to see 84/100...and it was that girl that always sat in front asking questions and coping notes, you remembered what your seniors told you, you discovered that it's not by hard work only, smart work is also important... You discovered that for some lecturers, that textbook is secondary, and their note is key to passing their exam... You discovered that there were textbooks you were reading that was irrelevant.... Finally you discovered that you gathered info a lot but failed to pass well ...you discovered that assuming you met your seniors that they would have warned you ahead of time.
You discovered that truly this is the true feeling of being a medical student.... It's not all shiny and roses...but you won't give up, you have learnt your lesson .you have to make your parents proud . This is the true life story a senior of mine told me....

fuckbabar: Hello thread. I wrote the just concluded JAMB with a score of 287 a downer for me compared to my last year’s 310 (Unilag slapped me on that one). I chose LASU this time with hopes of blasting JAMB sky high since there’s no POSTUTME and such over there. I have 4B2s and 1B3s and my calculated screening score will be 79.85%. I am not an indegene, native of Ekiti state. What are my chances of getting admitted to LASU Medicine please? My other options would be UNILAG, OAU, UI. But UNILAG and OAU are merging unevenly which means fuckup is imminent and UI, as I heard, isn’t admitting students this year. What are my chances at LASU Medicine please? I also choose unilag with a jamb score of 285 but I'm scared....do you think unilag MBBS cut off will be lower this year? |

NewSoul: To those who think they scored low in UTME, the journey is not over yet. I repeat "The match is still very much in play". Did you know only 800+ students scored 300 (0.06) lowest in the last 4. And I can bet that out of this 800, 350 are mathematics students(engineering aspirants), 150 commercial students, 100 arts and guess what just about 200+ for medicine and surgery in the whole country.
Even if you have 250+ Infact 240+, the game is still very much open for a comeback. I don't care what your score is if you can get 90+ or 360+ in post utme no matter the school whether state or federal, you will definitely be admitted.
And if you scored 280+ if you like be feeling like Messi and don't fire on all cylinders if Mr 240+ beats you with 10 marks guess what, he has just displaced you.
The failure rate for this year is high only 45% could score above 160 and above that means over half (700,000) of the 1.3 million are ineligible for university admission. If you give up na you fvck up.
I will leave you with this quote "if you think you can you are right. If you think you can't you are also right". Good evening I believe I can...this year is my year. Thanks for the advice sir. |

Ademola47: Hello Nairalenders,
Please, I need your advice experienced medicine graduates, students and consultants.
I am a 19-year-old medicine (MBBS) aspirant. I have written three jamb and MBBS admission has not come my way.
I applied twice in ui and once in Unilag. For the unilag admission, I was 11 marks below the cut off mark in 2017.
In 2018, I was 2 marks below the cut off mark in ui. This year, my aggregate is relatively low.
Now, I need advice on: 1. How to score 340+ in the forthcoming (2020) utme. 2. How to re strategize 3. How to eliminate boredom while reading/preparing.
4. Materials/books I can prepare with.
Also, I'll be glad to learn from your experience.
Thanks in anticipation.
PS: My utme score has always been between 280-318 Did you later get medicine? |
