Politics / How Old Is Buhari? by lordsterlin(m): 9:11pm On Feb 09, 2017
When I talk now, them go say I dey wail...

Abeg if Mama Buhari had 18 children and The eldest is 84 years old while Buhari being the last child is 74 years old, 84 minus 74 is 10 years, do you mean somebody can have 18 children within a space of 10 years?
Politics / My Problem With Nigerians by lordsterlin(m): 8:56pm On Feb 08, 2017
My problem with Nigerians is this:

1. We are a whole community of people who basically despise and detest knowledge.

2. We are proud of our nation's population and for some inexplicable reason, we believe that our size on this score gives us the right to claim to be the biggest and best on every other score.

3. Our system of governance is stuck somewhere in the 1950s but we dare to believe that we are Y2017 compliant.

4. Every project we manage to undertake has to be tagged " 1st in Africa" or "Biggest in Africa" while the truth is anything but that.

5. Our political structuring along the democratic system of governance looks good on paper but in reality we practise a variant of a militarised unitary structure that thrives on bullying and brigandage.

6. Outside of the shores of Nigeria, we could easily be one of the best people on earth in scholarly activity, ingenuity, creativity and conduct. Once our feet land on Nigerian soil however, our transformation is immediate and unbelievable.

7. We have the uncanny nack of never planning ahead and a strong reliance on the supernatural to assist with any shortcomings thereto.

8. We are very religious people, no doubt. In our quest and pursuit of money or material possessions however, we easily jettison all religious injunctions against sharp practices and tuck in eagerly to a feast of "by any means" delicacies.

9. Applied Science and technology in Nigeria are easily hailed as holding the answers to our nation's underdevelopment. In reality however, the "system" repeatedly ridicules and frustrates those amongst us with scientific backgrounds. They are denied the tools or opportunities to do anything great but are usually at the receiving end when it is time to trade blames.

10. Our national aspirations are merely lip service strategies to create opportunities for graft. Nothing gets done in Nigeria, unless there is an opportunity somewhere for someone to make a healthy return.

This is the reality of our sad situation. It can get better, but this is what it is today.
NYSC / Nysc Relocation On Medical Ground by lordsterlin(m): 6:56pm On Feb 03, 2017
I could not believe my eyes today at Katsina NYSC permanent camp. A Corper who applied for relocation based on Medical ground was interviewed by the doctor assigned to screen him.
This was his response:
"I want to relocate because I am next in line to be chief priest in my community, the deity has been coming to camp to disturb me so I wish to go back so I can answer this call to service"
Politics / My Response To Amnesty International by lordsterlin(m): 11:20am On Feb 03, 2017
AS A MEMBER, THIS IS MY ADVICE TO AMNESTY INT'L IN RELATION TO A LETTER ADDRESSED TO ME

And I think other human rights bodies should understand this

I would like to advice that amnesty international should also avoid being seen as opposing a legitimate government, being that such a government is fighting for its people in its best sense.
Amnesty should not be seen as fighting every government move that does not support refugee plans. It's their country and they deserve the right to say who goes in and who stays or goes out within the ambit of an approved law.
Amnesty int'l should also major on Christians who are being oppressed and killed in Muslim countries and dominated localities. We see less of this info and involvement of amnesty daily and people are getting worried amnesty is becoming lopsided in its objectives.
I think if the refugee ban is for a time so the government can carry out a thorough work on its territory then the US government's decision should be respected.
You cannot because of an intention to be good to all kill many who look up to you. In as much as US isn't attacking the Muslim world but closing its entrance to them, let's wait and see what the outcome will yield rather than attacking and trying to oppose the policy of a sovereign state. This is what I suggest. Thanks.

As i went for my breakfast this morning at the kitchen, I met a cute looking dude also on queue.
Like it is with me, i greeted him and then concerned myself with the reason for my been there. After about 10mins of silence, the dude asked me thus: "fine boy, what's your role?" I asked in reply what he meant by my role, instead of putting me through, he kept mum for a while and then readjusted the question to "are you a TB"?
In reply, I told him I don't have Tuberculosis. Then I asked him the reason for the weird questions but instead of answering, a called me a slowpoke and left before I could say Jack Robinson.

NYSC / An Open Letter To The President by lordsterlin(m): 6:23am On Jan 29, 2017
AN OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENCY, THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF NYSC AND THE CONCERNED NYSC OFFICIALS

From an aggrieved Corp Member serving in Oyo State

N19, 800: A Salary, An Allowance or A Peanut.

I picked up my writing materials from a bitter heart based on the suffering of the Nigerian Corp Members serving their fatherland with a monthly pay of N19, 800.
Let me start from the camping exercise where it all started. An average Prospective Corp Member spent nothing less than N30, 000 to prepare for the camping exercise. Like that was not enough, we meet the extortion of our lives in the camp. We found out that the sockets in the lodges were disconnected from power supply and it was prohibited to charge our phones using any of the available sockets so that we can pay at the camp market. We went to the camp kitchen for food, and found a meal that cannot satisfy a year old baby. We went to the camp market, food and other items were so costly that we began to wonder whether we are still in Nigeria or one sort of desert in Afghanistan. An average expenditure in the camp is about N40, 000 not forgetting the N3, 000 plus we paid during registration. We were given N2, 500 in the camp as if it was enough to cover our transport expenses.
Now the real game began as soon as we were given our posting letters. We paid for the vehicles provided by the LGA’s to convey us to the LGA Secretariat. Thanks to the religious organizations that saved us from another lodging expenses. On getting to our Place of Primary Assignments (PPA’s), for those who were not rejected, we were welcomed with a very interested slogan, “NO PAY, NO ACCOMMODATION”. Not considering that the state does not pay as well. To the best of my knowledge, only about 10% of the 36 states including the FCT pays Corp Members. For those posted to cities, towns, rural areas and remote villages spend from N100,000 - N200,000, N70,000 – N80,000, N30,000 - N65,000 and N10,000 – N20,000 respectively on accommodation not including household items. Some of the employers will give us camp foam (mattress). I don’t know whether they expect us to spread it under the nearest tree and make a hut. Yes, some of the employers provide accommodation but it can only be about 5% of them. I observe that no supervision is carried out when private establishments request for Corp Members, because I have seen Corp Members sent to mushroom firms that cannot even pay their direct employees let alone caring for a Corp Member. Corp Members are being treated unjustly in their PPA’s and when we complain, we are being threatened with a query by the employer or extension of service by our coordinators.
In all these expenses, we are expected to survive with N19,800. We are really suffering, we cannot continue to be quite and die serving a country that does not care for our well-being. All we keep on hearing is “think of what you can do for your country and not what your country can do for you” and we forget that when you visit home on three consecutive occasions without biscuits for the children, then count yourself as an unwanted visitor.
Any Corp Member that do not have “GARRI” in the cupboard is seriously joking, because sometimes it will become doctor’s prescription which you have to drink three times a day for survival. We are also expected to report at our PPA’s four times a week and to embark on Community Development Service (CDS) once every week on an empty stomach. There are so many things to talk about but just calculate the expenses I just outlined at an average rate, then you will discover that N19,800 for 12 months is not appreciable. Our predecessors complained when things are not as bad as it is now, so imagine what we are going through.
Days has gone when Corp Members were respected and given most things free of charge. Nowadays, we do not identify ourselves as Corp Members in the marketplace or bus stops. Just make a mistake and go to the market with your face cap, you will buy a pepper of N50 at the rate of N200 all in the name of N19, 800 and we are also expected to save for the future. I could love to continue but for the seek of my readers, let me drop my pen.
All the constituted authorities should please do something towards the increment of the monthly peanut. Because if you call it “A Salary”, you are wrong. If you call it “An Allowance”, you are very wrong.

My regards.

Please share on all social media sites until it gets to those in authority.

NYSC / Open Letter To Nysc Management by lordsterlin(m): 10:32pm On Jan 26, 2017
*OPEN LETTER TO NYSC, ACCESS BANK AND CONCERNED CITIZENS.*

(From an Aggrieved NYSC Corps Member)

I am a Batch B, Stream 1 NYSC Corps member currently serving in Sango Ota, Ogun State. I wish to write of the exploitation, shady deals and inconvenience NYSC Ogun state and Access Bank are putting us through.

During registration in Camp-Sagamu, we were told to compulsorily open a new account with Access Bank (the only bank that came to camp). And just like everybody else I did, despite informing the Access Bank staffs that I was operating an Access Bank account already. (I would leave the bad attitude, gum-chewing and gossip engrossed response of the staff for another day).

Some days to the camp, we saw alerts for our 'allowee' - 19,800 naira. Only to realise later that 1,300naira was deducted for ATM Card without an alert from them. This was the first sign of exploitation and fraudulence. Why?
- an ATM Card is charged for 1000 naira, Where did the additional 300 naira come from? Whose pocket did it go?
- why were we not duly alerted of the deduction?

So, camp closed and we all went back to our homes to prepare for proper PPA resumption. Only for some of us to receive SMS that transactions on our accounts have been stopped due to BVN and signature related issues. The inconveniences this caused left many of my mates stranded. All due to negligence of Access Bank staffs.

Furthermore, within the last 10 days, we have been bombarded with different types of charges, draining an already insufficient 19800 naira.
- Card maintenance fee: 1100 naira
- Monthly Admin processing fee: 105 naira
Postage stamp and others sef join.
Kilode?
Wetin dem dey maintain? After deducting 1300 naira?

State no pay, PPA no pay.....still on top 19800 we go chop, pay rent, transport, buy data, keep body together.
Allowee don finish before e enter sef.

Now the 19800 is being threatened by familiar foes.

As Corps Members, we expect the NYSC to push for discounted initiatives for us, not cut-throat instances we have now.

We appeal to NYSC and Access Bank management to free us from these shackles.

Our vow is in sun and rain.
Not in exploitation and corruption.

Politics / Dasuki's Arms Scandal Is A Fiction by lordsterlin(m): 6:46am On Oct 29, 2016
THE SO CALLED $2.2 billion ARMS DEAL SAGA IS A CREATION OF BUHARI GOVERNMENT TO WITCHHUNT AND SETTLE POLITICAL SCORES.
it does not exist!

If truly there's something like $2.2 billion arms deal,

*Why is BUHARI stalling Dasuki trial in court?

*Why is Dasuki locked up in detention without any form of trial?

*Why is Buhari afraid of granting Dasuki bail?

*Why is Dasuki's case shrouded in secrecy?

The answer is simple - There's nothing like $2.2 billion arms deal. it is true that Dasuki gave out monies to different people.

But was the monies from funds meant to buy arms? capital NO! The moneys were simply Security Vote!

Every government have its own security vote, even President Buhari has his own security votes. Security votes are spend at the discretion of the government.

Is it morally right for a government to have security vote that matter is left for the executive and national assembly to decide.

However in a bit to settle political scores, wat Buhari governmentt did was to reviewed GEJ's security votes n term it Arms Deal or $2.2 billion arms deal.

An action he believed will enable him have the grounds to arrest and deal with his political opponents.

Riding on Nigerians sentiment on corruption, he went on to use propaganda to distort the facts n figures surrounding d so called arms deal saga.

In fact d so called arms deal fiasco (security votes) spans from 2007-2015.

Was dasuki national security adviser in 2007 No.

Why do u tink BUHARI is afraid of granting dasuki bail, why do u tink GEJ said it is impossible for dasuki to spend d so called $2 billion arms deal funds?? becos it does not exist!

The so called arms deal saga is notin but a figment of Bihari's govt imagination.

Open your eyes and smell the coffee.

Buhari is playing on our minds with the non existent anti corruption Joke for his own political vendetta, Nigerians will shout when BUHARi is corruption starts coming out.

please op just answer these questions.

why didn't the judges speak out at the time when they were offered the bribe__at least there is provision in the constitution that would have landed the minister in jail

why is it now that the judges are in the nets of the DSS that all of a sudden they started speaking___ is that not diversionary?

How are you sure they are speaking the truth______remember a drowning man may even clinch on straw in order to stay afloat

Ok let assume Amaechi did offer a bribe. Don't you think that the reason why they did not report him then was because they had collected a bigger bribe from the other party____It is said after all coming to equity one have to do so in clean hands.

Finally what makes you 100% sure that The transport minister did offered a bribe____Do you believe in unproven allegations?

Does it matter whether they exposed him then or now? are you alleging that Amaechi is not capable of doing so? Do you know how he procured the supreme court judgement that gave him victory against Omehia? Would you still defend him, when you see video footage?
Politics / Re: Amaechi: We Are Watching by lordsterlin(m): 8:04pm On Oct 23, 2016
do I need to remind all you Amaechi's apologists that the so called model schools Amaechi built were never good enough for the children of the commissioners and special advisers that served under him?
need I re-echo the fact also that the supposed health centres he built could not treat Late Rt Hon Tonye Harry and other aides of the administration?

It is never in doubt that Amaechi your hero left a legacy of corruption in Rivers State. The man deserve only kirikiri prisons and nothing more
Politics / Amaechi: We Are Watching by lordsterlin(m): 8:15am On Oct 23, 2016
Amaechi: We Are Watching From The Watchtower

I am not surprised that my Lord justices of the Supreme Court fingered former governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi in an attempt to bribe them and thereby sway the course of justice towards the direction of his party - the All Progressive Congress. Though, I considered their recent outburst as a little too late, considering that they would have perhaps died without exposing this alleged crime, had the Secret Service not punctured their tyres in a veiled anti-corruption sting.

I dare say that Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi is a perfect example of who Governor Nasir El-rufai described as 'accidental public servant'. His brashness and profligacy, his crude and sanctimonious arrogance all paint him as a man who ought ordinarily not to hold any public position of trust.

Right from his 'accidental days' as the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, he showed why he was a misadventure in public service. Traditional rulers, opinion leaders and other well respected individuals saw his disdain for respect for those ahead and below him. It was certainly for these that then President Olusegun Obasanjo described his emergence as the flagbearer of the PDP as having "K-Leg".

The man did not change even after he became the accidental governor of Rivers State following the unlawful sacking of Sir Celestine Omehia by the same Supreme Court Justices now accusing him of attempting to bribe them. Instead, he paraded himself as the "Prince" in the mind of Niccolo Machiavelli who must possess the art of war as a skill if he hopes to survive his throne.

During the eight years, he served as governor, the man unceremoniously collapsed the judiciary and the legislative arm with his executive. He made sure that, the judiciary never functioned, that the House of Assembly perform their legislative functions in his dining while he not only presides but also pontificates. The likes of Chidi Lloyd, Otele Amachree were his puppies, always willing and ready to dance naked not minding the glaring public eyes.

We were all witnesses to his brazenness and undiluted hated for due process. We saw how he crisscrossed the length and breadth of the country like Mallam Abu of "The African Night of Entertainment" seeking for a compromised jury who would play the devil's role in stopping the swearing in of the ambassador of the NEW Rivers vision, Chief Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike. We saw his aloofness and disdain for a peaceful Rivers State under the PDP led government.

Surely, we are aware that Rivers State is without a legislator in the Senate because this self-styled 'Lion of Ubima' does not have the capacity to secure a win in his polling unit.

Assuredly, we shall all be alive to see how all these will end...

Dear President,
I beseech you in the name of God to consider increasing the 19800 naira been paid to corp members as monthly stipends.

This request has become necessary following the present state of things in the country. You're well aware that cost of living is skyrocketing while standard of living has greatly dropped. The implication is that 19,800 naira as allowance for corp members has become untenable considering that most states have stopped making their own contributions to the scheme.

Sir, it would interest you to note that corp members spend at least four years in the various tertiary institutions. While in school, they vigorously strived to ensure academic growth. They did not indulge in acts capable of terminating the peace we enjoy in this country, yet successive government always failed to encourage them . The funds for this compulsory one year scheme has always been paltry whereas funding for amnesty programs has always hit hit hundreds of billions.

Sir, please use your good office to #increase the monthly stipends corp members receive.

Thanks

Emine, Princewill

IT'S NOT LIKE THE FBI...
In the case of the arrest of 3 Judges by the FBI (USA), the judges had been charged with corruption already and their homes were not invaded... I agree that we have very corrupt judges and they should be investigated, prosecuted and punished but the method of the DSS in these cases is underhand. The DSS should be encouraged to employ methods that meet the standard of the law.

People, power often shape the course of society. Unusual situations are better handled unusually. However, I cannot in clear conscience subscribe to a thinking that it would do us great for one arm of government in a constitutional democracy to pursue a cleansing in a manner that can cow another arm of government that should be a check on its excesses. Power belongs to the people and our representatives should only exercise the powers we give to them and the power given to each arm is clearly defined in the Constitution. Beyond that is tantamount to taking by force powers we didn't give them.

I have often begged for us to come up with some elite consensus. Now that we feel that our Constitution has constantly been manipulated and taking advantage of through available loopholes and clandestine maneuvering, we the people must insist on changes to the Constitution. A good start towards that is for the elite to be more involved in the political processes and together 'we the people' must make sure that our votes COUNT.

NYSC / Nysc: Suggestion On How To Better It by lordsterlin(m): 7:38am On Oct 06, 2016
In as much as I would not want to condemn everything about the National Youth Service Corps Scheme, I would not also fail to admit that there abound so many inconsistencies in the scheme that would need urgent reform. It is obvious that the scheme adds no financial impact on the national purse, rather it helps to milk the Nations dry as huge amount of money is been dedicated to paying staff and taking care of the Corps Members alike. Little wonder, since the country witnessed economic downturn, the scheme became threatened. Truth is that there are some bottlenecks in the scheme which are counter productive. A lot has been said about making this scheme very lucrative. Many innovations has been put in place like the loan Scheme and SAED (Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development). Though I will commend these reforms for its good intentions, but I will not fail to pinpoint where the initiators of these very programs got it all wrong.

As an Ex Corps Member, I think I have the wherewithal to discuss this very topic not in a view of rubbishing the Scheme but in charting a new course for the scheme. Everything here remains my personal observation and experiences, together with most of my Colleagues account.

Talking about SAED:
This was initiated by the hierarchy of the scheme to better reposition Corp Members for challenges ahead and make them self reliant/dependent. It is highly commendable that government through NYSC has seen the need to reduce the constant embarrassment faced by graduates while searching for white collar jobs, but good intentions only can not yield positive results and lead to National development. Good intentions should be marched with good works. I do not know who told the initiators of this program that the only skills a person would get are "tailoring, beads, shoes, and bag making, interior decoration, baking". What happened to those who do not have interest in these areas?? What happened to specification based on profession? Like including welding, mechanics, etc. It would be appropriate if the scope is expanded to include those areas which would see to the improvement of our Nation's economic sector.

Aside SAED, I would also lend my voice on the issue of PPA. I know how well the scheme is trying to improve on our educational sector. I appreciate that a lot as I have seen somewhat impact this has brought on our Education sector. Yet there exist big lapses in this. Rather than compulsory all graduate of different fields to do their PPA's in schools, why not limit it to graduates of Education faculty. These people are trained Educationists with flare in the field. They would know how well to advance the sector. In doing so, the scheme would place square pegs in square holes. Take graduates of Management science to the Finance sector, just as the Medical Doctors are placed in Hospitals, and I bet you in the nearest future Nigeria will be envy of many nations. With the kind of energy Corps Members exact on their jobs for the service year, if square pegs are placed in square holes, I bet you we would not be complaining of lacking my power and technocrats.

Moreover, due to my position as an Ex-Corps Member, I can lend a suggestion on how best to make the scheme a money making machine and contributes its little quota to national income. The scheme could be lucrative enough that many agencies would have to properly pay to get the services of Corps members. Naturally Corpers are considered as providers of cheap labours. Their services are very affordable little wonder most PPA's abuse such privileges and tend to use the hell out of a Corper. If the Federal Government through NYSC would on her own raise the allowance of the Corps Members by 50%, then mandate any employers of Labour to formerly apply and register (with money) through them (NYSC) for the services of these Corps Members, we will see that the money made through the registration and renewal of licences by the scheme would add to national income no matter how little it is. With this, employers would not be expected to pay Corps Members under them, except for the too generous ones. This and many more things could be done to salvage the current inconsistency in the scheme.
.
Conclusively, I would wish to state that NYSC in its real sense is not a waste of time if these abnormalities are not checkmated. When corrected, it would become more lucrative and not its current nature of "Khaki snapping and uploading". It is because from the packaging of the scheme it appears that there are no gains, Corpers decided to find solace in pictures as a consolation. If we can study perfectly Egypt and Israel system of National service, I think we would have outgrown this integration of a thing the scheme is out to address since 1973.

During my service year, I knew of many times I refused going for the useless CDS gathering as the only thing we discussed there was meeting agenda and shout our way home. For consecutive 7 Months I skipped CDS meeting except for the unwarranted SAED lectures which I only went for signing of attendance. Even in the SAED lectures, the conduct of such lectures are very poor. Imagine where a speaker would be addressing over 300 persons without the aid of a megaphone. Most times they say very irrelevant thing just like they did in camp. Many person stopped attending cds meetings and SAED whatever because of this.

To think that there is one loan through the Bank of Industry, which only a very few can access is annoying. Even if many persons could access it, on which project would they utilize the loan on? What business or idea do they want to use it on since the scheme limited their training to those skills which could be gotten anywhere even with the aid of YouTube video teaching.

This becomes my humble submission to the call for the rebranding of the National Youth Service Corp scheme.

#Dedicated to my COC (Collection of Certificate) billed on 6th of October 2016, as my humble contribution to the improvement of the scheme which I feel has many good prospects than bad.

Congratulations to everyone collecting their certificates tomorrow and those that would take theirs on the 4th of November 2016. Please do not ask me this question "after NYSC what next". Also do not expect me to start sending you my CV or bombered your phones with calls and text messages because of job. The only thing I expect from you is to wish me either well or bad. Whichever you wish to do, I surely know that qua Sara Sara. No one can stop the loin from roaring because that is his trademark. My only goal in life is to make myself happy because when I am happy, I can affect my neighbours sadness for good.

LETTER TO THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF NYSC:

'DON'T START THE WAR'

I write as a law abiding citizen of this great country to inform and educate our father, the amiable Director General of the National Youth Service Corps of the consequences and unforseen malady that may not likely occur but also cause and have every tendency of break-up and disfiguration to NYSC as a scheme.

Sir, it is no longer news that the current Batch B 2015 corps members are likely to wind-up their National Youth Service on different dates as stated in the circular released on Sept. 16th, 2016. This is a great threat and injustice to the law abiding graduates serving their beloved fatherland.

Going by 365 days calendar, NOVEMBER 2015-NOVEMBER 2016 is 13months and should not be miscalculated as a year (a rent secured in January expires December, not next January).
In line with the above, the calculation made by NYSC is not only fallacious but mock in psychological realm.

Dear Sir, you will recall that both stream I and II(BATCH B-2015) were mobilized on the same date as arranged by the senate, but were dissever due to the incapacity of camps to accommodate the mobilized figures.

On this note, I wish to bring to your hearing the likely consequences if the decision remains fixed;

1. NYSC Scheme will lose its true value as prospective graduates are likely to be disappointed once not mobilized with the first stream.

2. The current BATCH B (STREAM II) are in total danger, harassment and helplessness due to the expired I.D card starting from October 6th, 2016. And violence might wage war against the the two streams on the said date.

3. Students could go extra miles in order to be in the first stream due to this first-come first-served generating law and this should not be.

4.Parents and guardians would no longer believe or have trust in NYSC due to the unbalanced calculation and time consumed factor.

5. There had never been a time in the history of National Youth Service (since established by Gen. Yakubu Gowon in 1970s) when two streams of the same Batch had POP on different dates. This is a tradition which we need to maintain and follow for this scheme to remain meaningful and helpful as set up.

To conclude, I wish to remind you that the Batch B, stream I enjoyed a total break of November and December after they left the camp in November which was not given to the stream II as both streams resumed at their various Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) on the same date (January, 2016).
In the light of the above, an injury to one is an injury to all.

On this note I say, NYSC MUST NOT FALL, OUR HEROES LIVE ON!

NIGERIANS, say NO to separate POP for Batch B. 2015 and thereafter!

Politics / The Nigerian Problem by lordsterlin(m): 2:01pm On Sep 19, 2016
THE NIGERIAN PROBLEM

Right from 1960 to date, our bane as a country has always remained the same. It is not corruption as the Nigerian President thinks, it is not stealing as Dr Jonathan asserts, it is never unemployment, it is not the failure of leadership as the late literary giant, Prof Chinua Achebe concluded.
Nigeria's problem has never been as a consequence of the lack of resources- be it human or capital or mineral. Of course, we have these in abundance. It is for this sake that we are construed as the giant of African.
The problem with Nigeria, is never PDP or APC. Yes, PDP met Nigeria in a pariah state and reintegrated her into the global community. Yet under the PDP, some officials of the state corruptly enriched themselves to the chagrin of millions of Nigeria, yet the problem Nigeria is facing can not be attributed to the PDP. It is true that under the APC, our dear country is in a recession, but I daresay the APC is merely a victim of the Nigerian problem.
What is this Nigerian problem, you'd ask? This problem, is everybody's problem. Though, I might have very robust ideas about how to better lead my state and country, when I get elected, I find myself been entangled in the same mess. This problem even an Imam, a pastor or even a traditionalist can not escape no matter how he tries to. This is to what extent our society is enmeshed.
This problem is prebendalism. Prebendalism is the situation where elected officials make appointment based on party, religious and ethnic considerations. Employment opportunities are usually given to cronies, church members and relatives instead of to the best qualified.
It was not strange to have a President who appoints his cabinet from amongst members of his political party. I did not find it strange either when the CBN made surreptitious recruitment recently because prebendal tendencies are inherent in our society.
Only a few days ago, the APC led federal government started a fresh singsong tagged "Change begins with me". This new singsong would have achieved its desired aim, had its heralders exemplified it by their appointments and stance towards issues of national concern. Had the government pursued the anti corruption crusade on neutral grounds instead of shielding some. Had the famous quote by the President, 'I am for everybody and I an for nobody' been practiced as preached.
The good thing however is, we ain't entirely lost, we can turn things around if we elect to shun our old ways and entirely embrace the mantra of CHANGE without been hypocritical about it....

WHO LEADS AT THE FRONT?
...By Princewill Emine....

As a people, we are emasculated by shattered dreams, bedeviled by numerous unfulfilled promises, yet we are compelled by sheer courage to continue to hang on in hope. Yes, only hope remains for us in this country that has been so battered and wounded by worst forms of corruption that clearly baffles human logic.

How can we or do we ever come out from this shambolic doldrum unfettered? This is the question every Nigerian ask on daily basis. This quagmire burns us all, the hardship, the empty pockets , occasioned by unemployment, the sky-reaching crimes, the wantonness of Nigeria's prebendary leanings are suffocation.

Though, this pains us all, not even a soul has been able to summon the needed audacity to confront this ignominious situation. Most Nigerians would rather die in hunger than bravely confront this paroxysm of extreme physical pain. This is unconditional cowardice in open display.

History told us that the nation of Israel faced this situation also under the rulership of king Saul Kiss Benjamin. In those dark days, Goliath and his Philistinean army plunged the Israeli state into a state of palpable tension which even the gun and armour bearing military generals declined to confront. The insult and humiliations were nosedivingly astronomous yet, fear of death made even the king, shiver to the extent, he could not brave it for his people.

Our dear Nigeria, is in such state of confusion. The leadership has failed to steer the tide and so avoidable hunger has warmly embraced everybody except of course the privileged class. If anything is to happen today, these political bourgeoisie will migrate to almost near heaven while we remain entrapped in this conception. Do I need to emphasis the obvious fact that, as Nigerian Youth, we are the disadvantaged species? At the age of 27, most Nigerian youths still battle with matriculation examinations unlike their counterparts in other climes; what an irony?

Nigerian youths, are you going to continuously look with askance yet doing nothing to salvage yourselves from this imbroglio? Though, I considered what the Tunisian middle aged man did as cowardly, at least, that singular self immolation set the tone for what has become known as the 'Arab Spring'.

It is time to wake up from this docile state, it is time to take up destiny challenge. It is time to confront. This should not be a one man or group show, it should rather be a unanimous resolve. But wait, who will lead at the front? Do we have the likes of Vladimir I. Lenin of Russia, Fidel Castro of Cuba, Simon Boliver, Jomo Kenyatta, Kwame Nkrumah, Obafemi Awolowo, Nelson Mandela etc. Who will provide the leadership that will propel the Nigerian youth to rise against social and economic injustice, against political slavery? Who will compell this lazy and indolent Nigerian youths to rise against himself? Who will lead at the front to inspire the Nigerian youths to aspire to be great, who, who and who?

The who, should not be those idiotic psychopathic elements who smuggled the Niger Delta struggle for personal gains. I do not want those who became billionaires at the expense of others. I surely do not need the elements who made so much wealth for themselves to the extent they now play the role of political godfathers owning universities, exotic cars, championing political ambitions and the likes.

I want real leaders. A real leader of men, for that was what David in the Books represented. V. I. Lenin was such man as well...WHO LEADS AT THE FRONT?

Politics / Questions For Gov Wike by lordsterlin(m): 11:21am On Jun 26, 2015
Questions for Governor Wike
It was this Governor Wike who instigated Rt Hon Amaechi to protest his illegal substitution by the PDP in court sometime in 2007.
It was this same Wike who pursued the case and even financed it to an extent while Amaechi was on political exile in Ghana.
It was this Wike who assisted Fmr Gov Amaechi to secure the Supreme Court judgement that declared Amaechi's substitution with Omehia illegal and as such the authentic flagbearer of the PDP.
Now this same Wike is the one saying Sir Barr Celestine Omehia should be recognised as a former governor.
Permit me to ask Governor Wike to please explain to Rivers people what the Supreme court judgement meant when it described Sir Omehia as an impostor. Was Omehia indeed a former governor of Rivers state or one who held sway for Fmr Gov Amaechi?
Wasn't the Certificate of Return issued to Sir Omehia withdrawn by INEC as a direct consequence of the Supreme Court Ruling?
If Omehia is a former governor, then can we also say Late Rt Hon Tonye Harry was also a former governor of the State and as such should deserve all entitlements and privileges including hanging of his photograph on the walls in the Executive Chambers of the Government House, afterwards it was he, who handed-over to Amaechi when Omehia stepped aside, so borrowing from Wike, he Tonye Harry also took decisions even for a day on behalf of the state?
