Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, on Monday, warned that Nigeria may face worse security problems. She, therefore, called for synergy among all security agencies. Aisha urged them to re-strategize and re-examine the security structure with a view to stem the rising cases of terrorism in Nigeria. She made the call at an international conference on state and security held at the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna. Aisha Buhari urged government to look into the welfare of security personnel. “Security in Nigeria remains the biggest challenge, it is high time to explore new strategies and approaches. “If care is not taken, we will be expecting the worse of the security problems we are facing in Nigeria,” NAN quoted her as saying. The First Lady appealed to Nigerians to remain vigilant and provide relevant information to security agencies to avert any potential threat. “All criminals are members of our society and they live in our midst, parents have the responsibility of ensuring that we take exceptional interest in the development of our children”, Aisha said https://dailypost.ng/2020/02/24/nigeria-may-face-worse-security-problems-buharis-wife-aisha/

Even Dog is respected and knows its right. A normal citizen of Nigeria won't even visit Police station because that person will be labeled a Criminal. This Country needs to reset herself. Everything is just wrong in Nigeria. Everything.. Very Useless Gov't |

The South-East All Progressives Congress, APC, Integrity Group, on Monday backed Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai’s position that Nigeria’s President must come from Southern Nigeria in 2023. El-Rufai had declared that power should move to the Southern Nigeria after President Muhammadu Buhari has completed his second and final term in office. Reacting, convener of the political pressure group, Dr Chinedu Jideofo-Ogbuagu, who addressed journalists in Enugu, said that Governor El-Rufai, being a reasonable and morally upright man, knows that rotation of presidential power between South and North has become an established convention since 1999, and as such, after President Buhari has served out the North’s turn from 2015 to 2023, it must be the turn of the South to produce president from 29th May 2023. The APC group further stated that presidential power must not only shift to the South in 2023 but must be zoned to the South-East. “That is because on the two previous occasions since 1999 that presidential power rotated to the South, South-West (President Olusegun Obasanjo) and South-South (President Goodluck Jonathan) took the South’s turns, both supported heavily by the South-East,” the group said. It noted that South-East must not only produce president of Nigeria in 2023 but, it want South-Easterner to become president of Nigeria on APC platform, adding that PDP have exhausted its goodwill in the South-East in particular and the South in general. The group stated that as a strategic, advocacy and pressure group within APC, it has been has strategizing and pushing for sanitization, popularity and rapid growth of APC in the South-East. “In good time before 2023, we want South-East to have more APC card-carrying members than any other geopolitical zone in Nigeria. And with the massive support of the other five geopolitical zones, a South-Easterner will become president of Nigeria in 2023, thereby ensuring justice, peace and continued oneness of Nigeria. “With a South-Easterner as president of Nigeria from 29th May 2023, we also foresee outstanding governance of Nigeria and prosperity’s the state for all Nigerians,” it declared. https://dailypost.ng/2020/02/24/2023-el-rufais-stand-unquestionable-south-east-apc-group/ Lalasticlala Mynd44

Southern Nigeria wants restructuring not presidency – Fani-Kayode fires back at El-Rufai Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, on Monday said the Southern part of the country was more interested in restructuring than 2023 presidency. Fani-Kayode made the remark in response to the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai’s comment that the Southern part of the country should be allowed to produce Nigeria’s next president. El-Rufai had suggested that the Southern part of the country should be allowed to produce President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor in 2023. The governor, who is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, had said that the North had no reason to hold onto power at the end of Buhari’s second tenure. “But as a group, the Northern APC will have to sit down and endorse someone, most likely someone from the South, because after eight years of Buhari, I don’t think the Presidency should remain in the north unless there is some extenuating circumstances. But all things being equal, we will honour our agreement and we keep our words,” El-Rufai had said. However, the former Minister insisted that the Southern part of the country was interested in their freedom. In a tweet, he described Nigeria’s presidency as “accursed.” To those that seek to appease us by saying that they may concede the Presidency to the south in 2023 I say this. The south is more interested in restructuring or outright independence than the Presidency. Give us our freedom and keep your accursed Presidency,https://twitter.com/realFFK/status/1231869211720527872?s=19
