A bit of historical context for this younger generation. The Cape Verde route was "opened" to many Nigerians from the mid-1980s into the early 1990s, with some seeing it as a possible transit point to Portugal. Being a small island nation with a tourism-based economy, job opportunities were very limited. Unfortunately, many of our fellow Nigerian brothers engaged in activities that damaged the reputation of Nigerians to the point where carrying a Nigerian passport almost seems like a crime. The lesson for this generation is simple: don't let clean streets, holiday pictures, or social media posts convince you to "Japa" to just any country. Do your homework. Understand the economy, immigration realities, employment opportunities, and long-term prospects before making such a life-changing decision. Every country has its own realities, and there are no shortcuts to success abroad. |
The foundation of every marriage is where most men usually get it wrong. Don’t beg or coerce any woman into marriage, especially when you notice a rival. The moment you realize she is not truly in love with you, disconnect that “marriage cable.” Any marriage that begins with begging will continue with begging, and often ends the same way. Some think financial stability can later create peace in such a marriage, wrong. That’s how you end up with situations where respect is misplaced, boundaries are broken, and the relationship loses its true centre. Often times, gate-man sleeping with madam or husband inviting madam's ex to settle family dispute because that is whom she respect and listen to(Especially this generation) Now to the main question, after considering the foundation: Mutual respect for each other is everything. Without it, love fades, loyalty weakens, and the marriage becomes a struggle instead of a union. |
Bahamas95:They lost all relevance the day they were reduced to state employees and dragged into politics. From that moment, the ancestors abandoned their domains. What we see today in many so-called palaces across the nation are empty thrones, cultural shells, and men echoing political interests, not tradition. Our sacred institutions have been hollowed out, leaving nothing but the shadows of what once was. A tragic decline. |
ChizzyBuna:I almost ignored your post, but for the sake of learning and unlearning, I’ll respond one last time. Truly, the thoughts and reasoning behind someone’s comments often reveal their background, level of understanding and the perspective from which they operate. |
ChizzyBuna:Arrested for what exactly? Two consenting adults cohabiting isn’t a crime in Nigeria. Unless there’s some illegal activity involved, simply living together doesn’t make you liable for anything. Marriage is a personal and social choice, not a legal requirement for sharing a home. |
My honest take: If two people can truly get to know and understand each other through only weekend visits and short stays, then that’s great for them. But personally, I believe that if you really want to know whether those sweet names “my love,” “my honey,” “my baby” are real, try cohabiting and see if you can survive one full year together. If you make it through that, then your real journey has only just begun. Let’s be honest: no one truly understands what happens in a home except the two people living in it. Religious advice is important for those who are religious, yes, but religious leaders don’t run your home for you. When you let them, well, the men here know better. You are the ones who will live with the consequences, good or bad. In my case, I did for 2 years before marriage, now 21 years still counting... And finally, one critical point: As a man, never beg or pressure a woman into marriage. |
feelingmyswag:In his words ' Tinubu's victory is God ordained' Hard to say, remove God from the picture of Nigerian's issues you see them come to their senses. |
Awon werey 'shock-absorber' |
This is enough to plunge a country with more sane people into chaos, but guess what? In contrast to my country, where only a few individuals are in the right mindset. They will 'jejely' swallow all the cum from their slave masters without asking them to stop. |
HydraFeeds:So we can agree that Oduduwa wasn't a Yoruba and the name Oduduwa wasn't his original name, a yoruba word or possibly a corrupted word.? |
HydraFeeds:@Bolded So who begat Oduduwa? |
Just imagine if Asari was 'Obi-dient' and making these threats. |
Sad thing is that this same man will contest for presidency, they will force him down Nigerian's throat as the winner, declared, sworn in as the president, nothing will happen and business will still go on as usual. Nigeria is not a country and it can never be untill honesty and justice prevails. |
Maryam1234:Are you still in business? if yes. Current prices for Balami, Yankasa Uda, and Sokoto red. All for breeding. When is the best time to buy? Location Benin City, Edo state. |

You young lads of today hardly know what marriage is, why you intend to marry and what it is to be married. There is nothing wrong with setting standards, but look inward and genuinely answer the questions above. Some of you set standards, kneel to beg a woman to marry you knowing perfectly well that she is not in love with you, then you eventually end up calling her EX to solve your family dispute each time because that is whom she love and respect. All in the name of standards and showing off while you are empty and miserable. Keep setting standards, man wey he get level. |
Succumb? I no fit laugh. Terrorists are giving you from behind without vaseline and you are there claiming 'Succumb' when they've already cum. What a pity! |
Austin032:This your advert is really hilarious USA, Canada, Australia, South Korea and other countries, 2 years working visa and family package on NL. May God bless your hustle, it is well. |
You are correct, just as Israel is beating Hezbollah with a cow's jaw. |
RapistOnBail:So your hate for your brethren is merely based on your belief in an Arab god and their belief in a Caucasian god. Africans, e ronu! |
Unfortunately he will come back, put on another 'earthly suit' walk same path, similar experiences until he learn, overcome and cross that point of suicidal thoughts. To all considering suicide, think about it. When you hear that voices that says 'I am tired of this body or I have to end this now' please take your time to ask, who is the "I" ending who or what? or who or what is the "I am" that's tired of the body? Peace! |
Do you still have stem for sale? Can you deliver to Benin? |
Hi, you mean cassava stem? If yes, varieties and prices, please. |
What a sad story |
I commend your courage young man. If you are here reading, I suggest you repackage yourself (your approach) you will surely have my vote. |
Taliban don upgrade ![]() |
This man just confirmed GEJ to be more clueless than I thought. |
Enemies surrender when it seems obvious they are either loosing or about to, now nigeria forces are on the defensive, ill equipped and under paid by their masters. While bokos are opposite of NA, so what is the logic behind their actions? If not business as usual between the FG and them |
This reminds me of the killings of the Ogoni elders which led to the arest and the execution of 'The Great Ogoni 9' The more you look the less you see. "The Lord take my soul, but the struggles continues" Ken Saro-Wiwa. |
You all expected Buhari to speak now he has spoken. Now you see his silence is more golden ![]() |
These religious people have started again "do for god" ? |
@ Op My advise as posted on other similar thread some sometime ago. "First advise to my son, do not ever and never plead any woman into marriage. Especially 'little kids' of today who thinks having 2 balls in between their thigh is enough to make them a man. I have seen a situation where husband called wife's ex to settle their matrimonial issues" |
