Meet the woman who's had the gift to speak to spirits since childhood

When you’re granted a special gift, it’s important to grab it with both hands. That’s what psychic medium Emma Kinsey, 33, did when she realised she could talk to those who’d passed to the other side

Emma passes on messages from spirits

Since she was five years old, Emma had known she was different. Her grandad had been admitted to hospital and she was tucked up in bed when she saw him standing next to her.

"You need to let your mum know I’m OK now," he said warmly. She stood at the top of the stairs and caught her mum coming in from the hospital and told her the good news.

"Grandad was just here! He’s all better now."

Her mum explained that he had died an hour earlier from lung cancer.

Not frightened, Emma kept seeing mysterious figures appear in front of her, but it wasn’t until her teens that she realised she was different.

"I started seeing faces when I closed my eyes at night," says Emma. "You are more susceptible when you’re just drifting off to sleep and that’s when I’d hear people shouting 'Hello?' and 'Can anybody hear me?' It did then start to frighten me, but I didn’t want to tell anyone what was going on in case they didn’t believe me," she explains.

"It was only when my parents separated and my mum married a psychic medium that I started to accept my gift. He knew I had the same gift as him and helped me open up to it."

With her family aware of her abilities, Emma’s mother encouraged her to start doing readings, but Emma was nervous to take on the challenge and the responsibility, as it was a massive and frightening leap into the unknown. It was at this time that her stepfather put her in touch with a spiritual development class, aimed to help mediums unleash their full potential.

Emma attended and for the first time ‘felt normal’. Surrounded by people with shared experiences, she began to accept what she was capable of. It was there she began to communicate with of her spirit guide, and started working with him to get messages from those who have passed.

So, despite having a good job in insurance, when Emma’s mother and stepdad decided to move to Spain to set up a Tarot shop, something told Emma she was supposed to go with them.

"The spirits weren’t leaving me alone," says Emma. "Every night they’d try to talk to me. I felt like they wanted me to pursue my gift, so within a week I’d quit my job and started giving readings at the shop. It came naturally. My stepdad taught me how to protect myself (with words that are a bit like The Lord’s Prayer) and I gave my first reading – it’s something I’ll never forget."

Her first reading

An old lady called Rosie came through and connected with Emma just by looking at her with the most beautiful smile. Emma told the lady who was having the reading and sure enough it was her grandmother. She passed on all the messages from Rosie and the joy that reading gave to the woman made Emma realise this was the job for her.

"I believe you’re either born with the gift, or you’re not," explains Emma. "And I knew it was the right path for me. Since then it has just soared. I knew I could help people through grief and that was what spurred me on."

Of course, with Mediumship comes scepticism, but Emma is adamant the proof is in the pudding.

"The stories speak for themselves. The spirits pass on messages to me and also give me information about the future, which I always pass on, even if it’s a tricky subject. It is never negative, but if there is a warning about a relationship or work situation that comes through I’ll tell the client, because I feel that is more positive in the long run anyway, and you can’t have a reading if you don’t want warts and all," says Emma.

"Some people get given dates of deaths and that’s something my spirit guides don’t give me. I don’t believe we should know anyway, and it would mess with my head too much to receive that sort of thing."

Emma gained lots of experience working in Spain, so when she moved back to the UK a few years later, she started giving readings to whoever reached out to her. Some have been particularly memorable.

"I always find fertility issues the most interesting," she explains. "I went to see a lady for a reading at her house, and I told her I was seeing a baby in May. This was April, and the woman burst into tears. She explained that just that morning she’d been to a specialist who said she wouldn’t be able to conceive. I’m not a doctor, but the spirit world had given me the information and I had to pass it on. Four weeks later I received a text from the lady saying she was pregnant. She said it was a miracle."

A great comfort

Another occasion when Emma was able to give great comfort to someone was when a mother who had just lost her young son contacted her.

"I received a message from a woman asking how long you should leave it after a loved one has passed before having a reading. As I was replying, explaining it’s best to leave it a few months, a young lad appeared before me, clear as day. He was gorgeous. Well-built and with piercing blue eyes. I knew he was connected to the message. I let him speak, then I called the woman and spoke to her.

"I just knew he was there for her. She understood the letter B as his name was Ben*, and I told her how he’d passed, which was correct. Ben asked me to tell his mum about the yellow flowers at the funeral. She said she was sitting next to them.

"I explained a football connection and passed on a message of, ‘Tell Dad to stop wearing my socks!’ which I later discovered was because Ben’s dad and brother had borrowed his socks to go to the football. Now I am on-call for whenever this family need a reading, free of charge, because I felt we connected that day. The comfort it gave them was absolutely wonderful."

Emma realised she could see dead people when she was five

Mediumship is a £100-million industry in the UK, but Emma isn’t in it for the money.

"A lot of the time I am brought to people by chance, and although I’m lucky enough to do this as my full-time job, I give a lot back. Whenever I can help people, I do. It isn’t about the money."

She may talk to dead people as her day job, but Emma does find it hard to get some alone time.

"I always have spirits in my ear," she says. "It happens on a daily basis, but I have to tell them to come back when I’m working. If I have theatre shows coming up with large audiences, some spirits follow me around because they know their loved ones are attending.

"I had a man called David who followed me for days because he had died of a heart attack and was desperate to speak to his wife. Sure enough she was there and was my first message of the show. But there’s no point in me telling people I have dead people around me 24/7. I just get on with it."

Dealing with the dead doesn’t make grief any easier, however, as being able to contact loved ones isn’t always on tap.

"When my dad passed six years ago it was still very hard," she explains. "Yes, I know what happens after we die, but I don’t avoid the grieving process. It’s a comfort enough just to know he’s there. I don’t have to have a conversation with him.

"But he’s actually a bit of a nightmare in terms of how mischievous he is. He’ll throw pictures off the wall to let me know he’s there and I hear him calling my name all the time. He’ll also turn my fire on when I walk in. The button is so stuck I struggle to turn it on and off, so I don’t know how he does it."

One of the downsides to being the owner of such a rare gift is that friends have occasionally abused Emma’s position.

"I keep my circle small now, because some people I’ve met have befriended me expecting me to be able to tell them everything. A lot of the people I have read for have become friends, my close circle are spiritual and my brother actually tours with me and reads cards too."

Guiding others

Because of the nature of Emma’s job, she can’t even get a break when she goes on holiday.

"I recently went away to Egypt, and when I was swimming a gentleman in spirit kept talking to me about his son who was working at the bar. I can’t speak Arabic, but my spirit guide translated and I found an English-speaking waiter and got him to pass the message on.

"I said, 'I need him to know his dad is OK. He says thank you for the flower you put down and he knows you carry a photograph of the two of you everywhere.' At that moment he pulled the picture out. It was incredible."

Sometimes Emma does get upset when she has young children or traumatic passings coming through.

"Some may have passed 20 years ago, but they still show themselves to me at the age they died. I have babies come through with grandparents in spirit, I have those who have committed suicide, and I’ve even had a murderer who was honest about his crimes make contact. But either way, I care about guiding others. I want to help people deal with grief.

"Whether it be messages from loved ones or advice on the future, as long as you don’t purely live your life by readings, I believe the right path will come to you. Whatever is meant to be, will be."

Investment / Re: Why Swiss Golden Nigeria Is Unrealistic And A Waste Of Money And Time. by LOUIS6(m): 1:42pm On Jun 22, 2017
Toks2008:
Well many people may not know but I am an E-commerce consultant and my job is to scrutinize businesses that are online oriented and tell people which is a sustainable one or not and just as I warned about MMM as not sustainable about a year ago, I am coming out this time to state the red flags in swiss golden Nigeria.

I will not bore you with stories and I wouldn't be writing this today if the admin of a certain wattsup group with number +234 706 258 5988 did not evict me simply because according to him,I am spoiling his business (whatever that means) but all I did was simply professional trying to point out the red flags in the business when he ought to be simply professional by explaining to me.

Now get this clear, I believe in network marketing and I am not calling swizz golden a scam but what I am simply pointing out is that the earning structure is very faulty, unrealistic and unstainable.

Now the business module insists that you MUST refer 2 people and in fact you will not progress if a cycle is not complete and it takes 7 people(You inclusive) to cycle and according to the structure, once you earn, you start another cycle with your downlines following you if they also cycle and this goes on and on and on.....but what many fail to understand is that for this to happen, everyone who registers MUST sign up 2 people meaning the matrix must be filled up for the system to be sustained...in other words, the downlines structure must be in this format. ..

You
2 downlines
4 downlines
One cycle

Now for your two downlines to cycle there will be need for continuity meaning

Your 2 downlines
4 downlines
8 downlines
your 2 downlines achieves a cycle

your 4 downlines of your immediate 2 will need

4 downlines
16 downlines
32 downlines
the 4 downlines above cycles.

Now here is the glitch....for you to make a second cycle, you will not be needing just 7 people but

you
2
people
4
8
16
32

Meaning you will need 64 people to register under you.

Now it is not the 62 that is the problem but the fact that everyone MUST sign up 2 people who MUST sign up another 2 in other to sustain the business.

Invariably it means the business must have an arithmetic progression of a multiple of 2...

2
4
8
16
32
64
128
256
512
1024
and on and on....

In my years as a consultant,I have never seen a matrix filled up meaning there is no way that arithmetic progression can be achieved which simply means the earning structure only gives room for the early starters which is also a red flag.

Some will say team work will ensure you get 2 downlines but no team work can sustain the matrix at a stage when it becomes so large.

I do believe that if the Admin of swizz golden Nigeria can go back to the drawing board and bring out a sustainable earning structure, the business might just stand the test of time.

A good earning structure of any network must not favor early starters but hard workers and must give room for participants to earn even if they only refer on person.

I want intelligent contributors to prove me wrong.

Thanks

pls check...sir
