Tbanjtech:The Camry or the corolla. But you’ll need to keep up with maintenance. That said, 7m naira won’t land you a good Nigerian used of both models sir |
semochendo1:I’ve got the 2010 ZDX, preowned unit @ 10.2m

Now the rear diff is fairly simple, it’s takes approximately half a liter. - important thing to note is to always loosen oil fill bolt before drain bolt or else you’re in for a long thing 😹 - jack rear axle up, loosed drain and fill plug with the number 10 hex key ( always tap it so as not to round off the plug) - after a drain, I tightened the drain plug and filled the diff through the fill plug. I made sure I filled till I could see a steady drip from the diff basically showing that it’s full.
|
- After allowing a complete drain for 15mins, I tightened drain plug and installed new seals on my oil filter canister housing. - oil filter housing was installed back to the vehicle - Vehicle was Jacked down in order to appropriately gauge engine oil level - Vehicle was allowed to run for few mins after which the engine oil was gauged again. ( the truck takes about 5 and half liters of oil ) - lastly I did my oil maintenance reset, service interval at 3500km ( owner prefers to change at shorter intervals)
|
First thing first was an oil change, started by taking off oil filler cap and dipstick - next loosening of drain bolt to allow engine oil drain - next was removal of oil filter housing with the appropriate tool set required.
|
Without wasting of time l I’ll give a brief. - Vehicle in question is a 2019 Toyota Highlander AWD Engine oil used - Liquimoly Full synthetic 0w20 Oil filter - Fram oil filter Diff oil used - Liquimoly Hydraulic oil (75w90) Tools required - 14mm wrench, oil filter removal tool set, size 10 hex key, a oil catchcan and a little rag

Hello my Cartalk Family, it’s been a while we’ve had people upload their diy escapades here and I thought to revive that through my brief maintenance service on this Toyota Highlander |

fashrola:That’s another option, I think that comes with the 1.6l gamma engine, which I feel is still better compared to your former choice. I’ll advise to just keep up with maintenance. Goodluck |

Androidking:I doubt that, but judging the car I don’t think it’ll be too expensive to procure since you are considering an android screen. I tell you what, I’ll be heading to Ladipo spare part market tomorrow and try and get a price mark for you |
fashrola:Judging from your budget and preference why not go for • 2011-2013 Toyota Matrix • 2014-15 Toyota Yaris • 2016 Ford Fiesta ( might not be so easy to come by) • Scion tc 2011 ( also not so easy to come by ) |
fashrola:I would liken the failure to a flaw in oil passage design. because, from the codes that might show up, it’s suggest rod bearing wear which would most likely be caused by oil starvation. Hyundai has issued a recall on that particular engine but how does one know if former users answered that call and what hyundai would do at the end is put in a new engine so how does one determine the engines integrity. |
Newcontact5:Hello sir, so what happened to the engine |
fashrola:Honestly, I’ll advise against getting both of them especially the Kia soul. The rumors you heard are true also. The Elantra gt has a potential rod bearing failure from my experience they’ll most likely need a new engine and they are quite expensive ( I’ve purchased a few) same thing goes for the soul If you still feel like getting any take the Elantra gt preferably one with low miles. I also carry out vehicle inspection and procurement also.

Androidking:Your description is quite vague, no car brand, model and model year. I doubt though, most will only just show you the speedometer as well as rpm reading |
Engine would need to be opened up to ascertain damage, but from your description it’s sounds like it threw a rod |
