Hello All,

Please I need serious help. My Lexus Rx350 2008 model SUV has the check engine flashing. Each time its flashing the power and performance of the engine reduces. I had a scan run on it it complain about the no 3 and 5 coil which i have change with another one,the cylinder misfire. All that can be done has been done even to the extent of changing all the spark and ignition plugs but still the problem persists.

Please what can I do, spending a lot on the car. Could it be electrical problems?and the car is working well before,i just notice the oil is dry and finish quickly,so when it was the time to change the oil for servicing i change both gear and engine oil, at that point the mechanic advice me to ring the engine,so agreed with him,so go-ahead at the same time he condemn the crown-shaft as well, we fix all this,after ringing the given did not bring out the good voice,i was told the timing is not correct they brig the engine down to re-timing it back....at the end of it,the check engine flashing. Each time its flashing the power and performance of the engine reduces and i was told again is wiring problem,some rewire even told me that my brain bus has to replace,please sir/ma someone shuold please assist me ooo......i have spend less that 500K STILL not getting the result ,thank you help your brother,

Hello all.

So my es 350 gear has-been giving me issues.
When trying to accelerate it revs and goes into neutral, I will have to release my legs from the throttle for it to come down, before it changes gear and continues moving.

After driving for sometime the movement becomes sluggish and slow and goes into neutral more often.

To even drive over a slightly elevated ground is a problem.

Gear repairer says it's the fibre that has gotten burnt( I don't know why they always either say fibre or valve body) and to repair is 50-50.

I have decided to get ready to get another toks gear box instead of wasting money on repairing what might not work.

Anyone with similar experience?

I don't know why it's hard to get a very good/expert gearbox specialist here, that knows beyond fibre and valvebody

All Nigerian used suvs
- Lexus rx350 2013; nice looks, ample cabin space, wonderful power train if maintained properly, reasonable ground clearance ( that shouldn’t be an issue, I presume )
- Toyota Highlander (2013) - I’m referring to the facelifted second gen, some trim levels come with three row options, similar powertrain as the Lexus, some even come in 4 cylinder variant ( 6 cylinder is better to me though)
For foreign used vehicles
- Honda Pilot ( tokunbo); well within your budget, can come in three row options also, understated vehicle but it’s actually a good buy also
- Infiniti fx37; this is also a solid choice, wonderful powertrain ( vq37vhr, very nice to drive and it is actually sturdy also ) might not have as much headroom towards the back for a tall person) but for a tokunbo unit it should be well within your budget, might just be scarce.
