An Indonesian domestic flight carrying 54 passengers and crew has gone missing. The plane, said to be about 27 years old, lost contact with air traffic control in Papua province around 2.55pm local time


The Trigana Air Service flight carrying 44 adult passengers, five children and five crew members, left Sentani Airport at 2:22 p.m. and was supposed to land at Oksibil airport at about 3:05 p.m but disappeared 10 minutes before it was due to land. Indonesia Transport ministry said no distress call was made from the plane.

Search and rescue have begun though it has since been called off because of bad weather. Search for the plane, believed to have crashed in the steep mountains, will continue tomorrow. Quite sad!

However, it can be mastered. Here are the keys to developing nonverbal communication skill.

1. Motivation to Develop

First and foremost, you need to be motivated and really WANT to develop your ability to communicate nonverbally. It’s not easy, and takes a lot of time and dedication.

You need to set goals, get feedback about your successes and failures, and practice, practice, practice.

2. Develop Decoding Skills

The ability to “read” others’ nonverbal cues is considered to be the most important component of mastering body language.

You must be attentive and observant and focused on getting feedback about accuracy (you can’t improve if you don’t get feedback about whether your interpretation is correct).

It is a good idea, therefore, to have a learning partner to help in development.

Although there are universal expressions of emotions (i.e., smiling to indicate happiness; frowning = sadness), emotions can be faked. It also helps to study specific individuals and to learn their expressive patterns.

3. Encoding Skills

Encoding is your ability to convey nonverbal messages to others through your facial expressions, posture, gestures, and tone of voice.

There is some research evidence that nonverbal decoding and encoding skills are positively correlated (i.e,”it takes one to know one”), so understanding how to effectively convey messages nonverbally may also help develop your ability to read others’ expressions.

Becoming a good nonverbal encoder/sender really has two parts to it: developing your ability to express feelings authentically, what is often referred to as emotional expressiveness, but also being a good emotional actor.

One of my colleagues, who is a terrific public speaker, says that he spent over a year just working on his gesturing while speaking to make his gestures enhance his verbal presentation, but also to make the gesturing appear natural.

It is not enough to just focus on reading others’ body language and being able to send your own accurate nonverbal messages.

To be a true master of nonverbal communication you need to understand the communication context.

What this means is being able to use your knowledge of social rules, or norms, and understanding patterns of social behavior (called “scripts”) in order to more accurately decode and encode nonverbal behaviors.

Think of it this way: communicating non-verbally is a big part of Emotional Intelligence, but without truly understanding social situations (Social Intelligence), you can’t master body language.

5. Nonverbal Regulatory Skills

While being expressive and a good emotional actor is important, it is also critical that you be able to regulate your nonverbal behavior to be socially effective.

This means that you may have to mask felt emotions with a different emotion (i.e., “put on a happy face” even when you are experiencing negative emotions).

Also, if your own emotional experiences are intense, you will not be poised enough to pay full attention to others’ nonverbal behaviors.

Becoming a master of body language is not easy, and takes a great deal of work, but in our experience in programs designed to improve nonverbal communication we have often found that trainees experience immediate rewards.

As one participant in a training program told us, “right away, my girlfriend noticed that I was getting better at expressing my feelings, and with understanding her moods, and it’s really helped our relationship.”

Many of us spend time improving our writing or speaking skills. It is just as important to pay attention to developing our abilities to communicate nonverbally.

Married Man Commits Suicide After Prostitute Girlfriend Slept With Another Man

A married man besotted with a pr0stitute in downtown Zimbabwe, Fortune Jeremia Manyuka, has reportedly committed suicide after he caught the commercial s*x worker with another man, reports My Zimbabwe.

Manyuka, an Agricultural Extension Officer in the Ministry of Agriculture based at Ngundu Halt Business Centre in Chivi, allegedly drank some poisonous substance because his pr0stitute girlfriend was cheating on him.

Acting Masvingo Police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nkululeko Nduna, confirmed the incident, saying that Manyuka had earlier warned the lady to stop sleeping with other men and vowed to do something nasty if she did not stop.

Sources said that before taking his life, Manyuka burnt all the property in the house he had rented for the s*x worker and was arrested and charged with malicious injury to property.
Upon his release, he reportedly bought a bottle of poison and when he got home, he downed the substance.



He was rushed to a hospital where he was confirmed dead.

A pigeon smuggling cocaine and cannabis into a prison in Costa Rica has been apprehended by guards.

Sky News reports that the bird was seen landing in the central concourse of the medium security La Reforma jail, in San Rafael de Alajuela, where it was taken into custody.


The drugs were contained in a small zipped up pouch strapped to the animals chest, reports Sky News.

About 14g of cocaine and at least the same amount of cannabis were inside, wrapped in plastic.

Costa Rica’s Ministry of Justice and Peace released the animal’s mugshot under the headline caption “narcopaloma”, meaning “drugs dove”, and listing the date of the animals detention.


The drugs had a street value of around £180 ($281).

Prison officials said they believe the drugs were destined for use by an inmate who may have trained the pigeon to act as a courier.
Director of the Penitentiary Police, Paul Bertozzi, told Spanish news agency ‘Efe’ that it showed the need to be vigilant.
“Drug traffickers are using unimaginable ways to achieve their macabre atrocities,” he said.

“This (use of a pigeon) is nothing new. In the past (the traffickers) have used cats and dogs to pass drugs to prisoners. Now it seems they are using pigeons to carry in their wares from the outside.”

Although it is the first time the Costa Rican authorities said they had come across the practice, it has previously been reported in Argentina in 2013 and Colombia in 2011.

The pigeon was later taken to a zoo where it was expected to remain behind the bars of a cage.

Biologist Oscar Ramirez told ‘Realidad7′ that pigeons can be trained to travel several miles with small loads.

During the Second World War, more than 250,000 homing pigeons were used to transport messages between front line Allied troops and top brass, according to the Royal Pigeon Racing Association.

The victim, whose name is withheld, and had just arrived the country from England, had accompanied her grandmother, who had a civil case in court and needed a lawyer.

While the grandmother was trying to get things done, the lawyer allegedly lured the unsuspecting little girl to an alley within the court premises and fondled her private part.

The little girl’s cry was what attracted her grandmother, who asked her what the matter was and she started pointing to the lawyer, saying that he fondled her breast and also touched her private part.

Eyewitnesses say the lawyer was seen walking around the court premises with the little girl and when asked who the girl was to him, he said she was his daughter.

He was also alleged to have carried the girl on his laps and gave his mobile phone to her to play with, while he was busy touching her breast and fingering her.

The eyewitnesses said it was when the girl started crying and went to report to her grandmother, who started slapping the lawyer that they got to know what happened.

The noise, which disrupted the court proceedings, brought the matter to Chief Magistrate K. B. Ayeye’s attention.

The little girl was said to have told the Chief Magistrate what the lawyer did to her.

The magistrate ordered that the lawyer be taken to Lion Building Police Station, Lagos Island, and when Vanguard visited the station, a police source said that Assistant Commissioner of Police had taken over the matter and also confirmed the presence of the lawyer at the command.

According to the study, the length of a man’s finger can determine if he would have certain masculine features like being assertive, aggressive and athletic. The researchers reveal that the length of a man’s finger is determined by the amount of testosterone he was born with.

To conduct the study, the researchers studied two groups of undergraduate students: those with masculinized fingers and those with feminized fingers. They found that the male students with masculinized fingers were more likely to impress their girlfriends or dates, especially those who believed they could get any girl.

The researchers also differentiated the men with masculine and feminine fingers. A man with masculinized fingers has short index fingers and longer ring fingers, showing his masculine and testosterone-powered personality. Men with feminized fingers have longer index fingers than his rings fingers: they were more exposed to estrogen in the womb, and therefore, have a more feminine personality.

“Prenatal testosterone drives men to put more time and energy into buying products and services in order to impress women.” The researchers explained.

Also, the researchers revealed that even though women had feminized fingers, they still make huge efforts to impress men, such as dressing trendy, applying makeup and using jewelries. They do this to attract a potential lover.

“Prenatal estrogen drives women to spend more time and energy towards buying products and services in order to impress men,” the researchers explained.

Finally, researchers concluded that men’s prenatal exposure to testosterone and women’s prenatal exposure to estrogen creates their sex drive. This s*x drive pushes them to impress their possible love interest with romantic gestures.

The metal part of a bra saved a female tourist from suffering greater injury when she was hit by a stray piece of ammunition during a hunt in northern Germany, police reported Friday.

The 41 year-old woman from North Rhine-Westphalia was cycling through a rape field in the north-eastern state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania with a male companion when she suddenly felt pain.

“According to our enquiries so far, she was hit by an object in the breast area,” a police spokesman in the port of Wismar said.

A wild boar hunt was taking place in the area at the time of the accident. The woman from the city of Guetersloh suffered only bruising. A piece of ammunition was found on the bra’s metal wire.

Police were questioning one of the hunters on suspicion of bodily injury caused by negligence.

A local newspaper reported the incident on Friday, saying that it took place on Sunday.
The hunt was stopped and the hunter’s rifle was seized. It is possible that a piece of shot ricocheted during the hunt.

A dead young boar was also found during the investigation after the incident.
