Tragedy struck on Thursday as two persons who allegedly ate a forbidden fresh fish in Ezillo community, Ishielu local government area of Ebonyi State lost their lives.

It was gathered that one of those who ate the fish became visually impaired.

The victims are said to be labourers hired by one Mr. Alieze for a construction work.
An eye witness identified as Mrs. Odoh Onyinyechi said the victims during their lunch break went to a near-by stream where they harvested the said fish.

The specie of the fish, according to the Onyinyechi is forbidden by the community.

“A man from our community went to the town and brought people to work for him. The people later went to the stream to fetch water and came back with some fish.They ate the fish and things started happening,”Onyinyechi said.

On 21 July 2015 it was confirm that a 32 year old graduate named Emeka Onye, drank rat poison after his lover rejected his proposal in Asaba Delta State. His death remains mysterious until eyewitnesses who was at the scene of his proposal to his long time lover confirmed that he might have killed himself because his lover rejected his proposal.

The lady in question could not be reached as at the time of the incident. His corps as since been deposited at the mortuary awaiting is relatives who have already be informed about the incident.

I must say am shocked about the increase in Nigerian youth committing suicide all in the name of love and i must say no man or woman is worth dieing for. Please stop this senseless suicidal act.

A 40-year-old woman, Helen Okeke, aka Mama Chinedu, who was accused of slitting her neighbour’s throat with a knife in the Ikota, Ajah area of Lagos State, has said she is possessed by a spirit.

The Okigwe, Imo State indigene, said she never knew that Rosemary died until when she was arrested by the police.
Okeke, who said she was unmarried and had a son out of wedlock, asked the family of the deceased
to forgive her, as she was not in control of herself during the incident.

We had blogged the story about Rosemary’s death yesterday. Okeke and Rosemary were neighbours in the Ikota Housing Estate. On Wednesday last week, Rosemary, who was reportedly preparing for her wedding, returned home and observed that the clothes she spread on her door had been soiled with urine. She was said to have suspected Okeke and reported to the landlady who pacified her.
However, some minutes after meeting with the landlady, neighbours were said to have been jolted by a sudden cry for help.
Okeke was alleged to have slit Rosemary’s neck with a knife during a brawl and was found with a blood-stained knife at the scene of the crime.
Rosemary died on her way to the hospital.

The matter, which was reported at the Ajah Police Division, Ajiwe, was later transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba.

During a chat with PUNCH on Monday, Okeke, who works as a cleaner, said it was not the first time she would have a quarrel with Rosemary. She said:

“I have been living in that house for more than two years. The first time we fought, she shone her torch on me and I queried why she did that. She then hit me with the torch, and that was how we fought.

The landlady, Alhaja, never gave me any quit notice as she claimed. I was even the one preparing to leave the apartment because it was too small for me.”

Okeke said the victim had challenged her to a fight on the fateful day while she was in her room.
She said she never wanted to come out until “a spirit” entered into her room and pushed her out.
She continued:

“On that day, she carried a bucket of water and stood in front of my room saying I should come out if I know I was woman enough. I had just returned from where I went to buy bread and was inside my room. I did not want to come out.

But a spirit just entered into my room and entered me. I was shaking uncontrollably and that was when I went out. I took a bucket of water and poured it on the floor in front of my room. But Rosemary poured her bucket of water on me, and that was when the fight started.”
She said in the ensuing scuffle, she found a knife in front of her room.

“I cannot explain what happened next. I have never had this kind of experience in my life. It was while I was at the police station that they said she was dead. I need forgiveness from Rosemary and her family. I want people to learn from my example that fighting is not good,” she said.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested a former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, for alleged money laundering-related offences.
Investigations revealed that operatives of the anti-graft agency picked up the former governor and his two sons, Mustapha and Aminu in Abuja.

It was gathered that the anti-graft agency picked up the governor and his sons in the early hours of Tuesday.

It was learnt that the EFCC leadership ordered a crack team of detectives to fly them to Kano by 2.30 pm preparatory to their arraignment for alleged fraud running into billions of naira.

The source said, “The former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, and his two sons, Mustapha and Aminu, were arrested this morning by operatives of the commission.

“They were actually arrested very early this morning, they were with us for hours before they were flown to Kano for possible arraignment on Wednesday (today).

The EFCC had arrested the two sons of the governor in November 2015, over alleged misappropriation of billions of naira belonging to the Jigawa State Government.

Operatives of the commission investigating Lamido and his sons alleged that billions of naira belonging to the state government was traced into the accounts of companies owned and run by the governor and his two sons.

The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the arrest of the former governor and two of his sons to our correspondent on the telephone on Wednesday.

He said, “I can confirm to you that the former Governor of Jigawa a State, Alhaji Sule Lamido and his two sons are with the commission.”

The Federal Government has said that it is open to negotiations with the Boko Haram sect in order to find a lasting solution to the security crisis in the country, if the group is willing.

This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, on Friday, in an interview with the BBC.

In the interview, which was monitored by our correspondent, Adesina said the Federal Government was not ruling out negotiations with the sect if it would put an end to the activities of the group. He lamented that the insurgents had attacked so many villages and killed scores of people.
“These were very vicious attacks. People were killed in scores and it’s so sad,” he said.

The President had during his inauguration speech said he had launched a strategy to deal with the sect by relocating the military headquarters to Maiduguri, Borno State.

When asked whether this would work, Adesina replied, “This is going to work. There are machineries being put in place. It’s going to work. The recent killings by the sect were meant to break our resolve, to weaken it, but that will stop. It remains a priority to him (Buhari) to deal with the group.

“You will notice that his first two weeks of administration were dedicated to tackling the insurgency. He visited Chad and Niger Republics and the following week, the Presidents of those countries also visited him in Abuja.

“The President of Benin Republic and the Defence Minister of Cameroon visited him; machinery is being put in place and once we’re through, we will see the end of the group. The target time for the deployment of the multinational force is July ending; that is in a couple of weeks.”
When the BBC also asked if the Federal Government was considering negotiations with the insurgent group, Adesina replied in the affirmative.
He said, “If they are willing, why not? You know attempts have been made for negotiations in the past and they didn’t work. Every reasonable person would want to see the end to this insurgency. So if they are willing, why not? You can’t rule that out.”

A Zimbabwe woman who was having sex with her husband’s brother ordered and paid some cash so that her husband could be murdered.

Thirty-two-year-old Sphiwe Moyo of Zvishavane and her lover, Witness Maphosa killed Knowledge. The two appeared in court on June 8, 2015, charged with murder.
Witness admitted to committing the chilling crime while his sister-in-law-cum-lover denies involvement.



Court records show that Maphosa — a gold panner — was once married to another woman whom he left before settling down with Moyo. Witness lived at the same homestead and over time became “more and more comfortable” around his brother’s wife.

And so began their adulterous affair whose passionate flickers grew into tongues of fire, consuming relationships and friendships. On June 2, 2015, the lovers allegedly stitched together a plan to murder Maphosa. Though the motive is unstated, it appears they wanted to continue their affair freely.
Moyo — it is alleged — paid Witness US$10 to carry out the hit, promising a further US$40 once the job was done. They went over the plan on June 3 while Maphosa slept in his hut.

Time was up: The target was to slip into much deeper slumber, never to awake. The two, the court heard, entered the hut and Witness got hold of an axe with which he struck Maphosa three times on the head, opening his skull.

Afterwards, they placed a rock over his head and covered the body with clothes. Moyo then sprinkled mealie-meal over the blood, locked the door from outside and disappeared into the night.

The next morning, relatives became curious when they noticed how the door had been locked.

They barged into the hut, and to their horror found Maphosa’s motionless form. As investigators camped the hut, the obvious question kept coming back: Where was Maphosa’s wife? Moyo was arrested in Mberengwa after swift detective work. She implicated Witness, who was subsequently arrested on June 6, Kuzeyanyaya News reports.

A 70-year-old man who stole a she-goat, Isa Hussaini, will receive five hot lashes of the cane for his crimes.

The sentence was handed down to Hussaini by the Upper Customary Court, Sabongari, Zaria, Kaduna State, after he pleaded guilty to the one-count charge of stealing.

Hussaini, from Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State, was caught when he stole his neighbour's goat and he did not waste time in pleading guilty, saying he wanted to feed his two wives and children. He therefore asked the court to deal with him leniently due to his old age.


The Judge, Atiku Sarki-Yohana, said he was happy that Hussaini did not waste the time of the court by admitting his guilt and ordered that he be given the strokes while warning him to desist from any criminal acts in the future.

Family: Clauddinnea Blancharde's daughter Gypsy, left, has been charged with murder

A horrifying Facebook post revealed a mum's brutal murder in her own home by her disabled daughter and her boyfriend.

Clauddinnea Blancharde – known as Dee Dee – was discovered by police with multiple stab wounds after a disturbing message was posted on her own Facebook page, which is shared with her daughter Gypsy Blancharde.

The post read: “That Bitch is Dead!”



An hour later, a comment underneath the post said that the "fat pig" had been slashed and her "sweet, innocent daughter" had been raped.

The post then made a sickening joke about how loud Dee Dee screamed.

Now wheelchair-bound Gypsy, 23, who suffers from leukaemia and muscular dystrophy, has been charged with murder alongside her 26-year-old boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn, reports KY3.

Gypsy posted the horrific Facebook messages from her boyfriend's home in Wisconsin because she wanted her mum's body to be found "quicker", Greene County Detective Stanley Hancock said.

She said she heard her mum Dee Dee, 48, screaming as Godejohn stabbed her, before trying to clean up blood from his finger using baby wipes and fleeing in a taxi.

Godejohn said Gypsy wanted him to kill her mum so he held her down before stabbing her in the back, police said.

Dee Dee was found face down on her own bed.

Godejohn then said he thought about raping his girlfriend, as was suggested in the Facebook post, but didn't go through with it.

According to the police statement, he then posted the murder weapon to his home so he wouldn’t get caught with it.

The couple also stole several thousand dollars from a safe in Dee Dee's bedroom in Missouri.

Godejohn’s stepfather, Charlie Goldammer, told WREX his stepson met Gypsy online and travelled to Missouri to bring her to Wisconsin.


"Supposedly he did something in Missouri, which we don’t believe because he wouldn’t hurt a fly,” Mr Goldhammer said.

Neighbours have described Dee Dee as a "selfless and loving mother".

Kinsman of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan and leader of All Progressives Congress, Bayelsa State, Mr. Godwin Sidi, has revealed that Jonathan conceded defeat to President Muhammadu Buhari to cover up his atrocities in office.

Sidi, who was the Interim Secretary of the defunct New PDP, berated those commending Jonathan for conceding, saying the former President had no other choice but to do so.

Sidi, who spoke at a news conference in Yenagoa on Friday, also called on the Federal Government and the National Assembly to commence the probe of Jonathan over the whereabouts of the Chibok girls.



“Jonathan’s conceding defeat is a ploy to cover up political atrocities he committed while in office,” he stated.

He accused the former President of taking the possession of property seized from a former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diepreye Alamieseigha.

Alamieseigha was impeached in 2005 by the state House of Assembly and later convicted for money laundering, paving way for Jonathan to become the governor of the state.

His property, home and abroad, was confiscated and returned to the state by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

While as a President, Jonathan, who always refers to Alamieseigha as his benefactor, granted state pardon in controversial circumstances to his former boss.

But Godwin revealed that some of the property seized from the former governor were in the possession of the former President.

He claimed that Jonathan took possession of one of the seized buildings of Alamieseigha at Maitama, Abuja, and later handed it over to his political associate and friend, who is a monarch in Bayelsa.

He also accused Jonathan of confiscating a 5-series bulletproof BMW car bought as a birthday gift for Alamieseigha by a friend.

Godwin, therefore, gave the former President 72 hours to return Alamieseigha’s property in his possession or face a lawsuit.

He further asked the National Assembly to compel Jonathan to give account of the whereabouts of the Chibok girls since he was the Chief Security Officer of the country when they were taken away by terrorists.

He said his group had concluded plans to drag the ex-President to the International Court of Justice over the Chibok girls.

Sidi, a former South-South Youth leader of the PDP asked the Code of Conduct Bureau to make Jonathan’s assets declaration public.

He alleged that the former President glorified in corruption and allowed graft to cripple the country.

Sidi added, “Jonathan was instrumental to the removal of Alamieseigha and prior to his removal, I remembered vividly that a friend of Alamieseigha bought him 5-series BMW car salon. Jonathan took that vehicle to Aso Rock.

“The vehicle is still in his possession. I want him to return that vehicle. Property, the one l know for now, there are other ones l am trying to investigate, of DSP in Maitama was given to Jonathan’s associate.

“I am giving them 72 hours to return the house to DSP as we prepare our papers to approach the court. The National Assembly should invite the President to give account of the Chibok girls because he was the Chief Security Officer at the time the girls were kidnapped.
