I think the Topic is rather addressing the Issue with many Nigerians that the only sin in the word is to be GAY! Our politicians understood this and they used it to hoodwink Nigerians while they loot the Country Dry. Just look at the Huge cries of Nigerians about the newly passed gay law in the United States... People where screaming and Heaping Insults upon Insults on the U.S calling it Sodom and Gomorrah and stating why it should be punished... It got so Loud that it made Yahoo News where they asked "Why are Nigerians so worried about the U.S, Gay Law"? On Facebook it's non stop Insult on the U.S and calling the Country every dirty name under the Planet, I guess this was the Issue being addressed on this Topic, that one Sinner cant really Condemn another Sinner

Wrong is wrong. If one failure calls out another then play ball. Both countries are beyond reproach. The USA has far bigger issues that need addressing than gays. Black people are marginalized and terrorized at a astounding rates. Things have only gotten worse. As for naija yes we need to do better and we are beginning to. The only reason the USA is pushing their gay policy on us is because they wanna be able to frolic in eko Atlantic. They didn't care about us until they put in money. I'm just tired of the same old songs of Nigerians not being allowed to voice disgust and outrage at other societies. We voice the same outrage at corruption and other ills in our society just nobody cares when we do because it behooves them to keep our collective dismay in the dark.

I didn't say it didn't happen in both places. But for the op to frame it as though Nigeria is filled with those actions and the US is devoid of those ills is where the divide occurs. Both societies need to clean up their acts. The US functions "better" due to hundreds of years of free labor and systemic racism. Nigeria is barely 100 years old and hasn't been decolonized for a century. The US civil war happened in 1861. Ours was in 1967. Their society is wrecked from top to bottom. Since 96, 8 trillion US dollars has passed through the pentagon in that is unaccounted for. Nigeria couldn't dream of such corruption. The US is the "world police" and the moral "barometer" and as such the world follows their lead. If you wanna know why things are the way they are look no further than DC. To sum it up yes we need to do better. We are beginning to do better. We as black people must lead the world out of the present darkness because we are the progenitors of human life. That is not to be argued because it can't be. I just take issue with the propagation of us being alone in our ills. The world must do better.

Everything you mentioned happens in the US at appalling rates. They just hide it better.

Of course, the wolf can't be a shepherd but when the protector learns the ways of the corrupter the protector is better off. That's all I'm saying. All I know is that if I'm the only person obeying the "rules" in the midst of anarchy then I'm the fool. Sometimes collateral damage is an unfortunate reality. I'm not condoning but rather rationalizing the thought process. Furthermore, I know plenty of people who have done some wrongs to do more good. It is what it is. We can agree to disagree.
