you are not seeing the restriction as a step in the right direction, think about the positives, if these okadas are banned they'll introduce bus lanes thereby reducing journey duration and they get more people from one spot to another which will hopefully reduce the number of people using private vehicles thus less pollution, more pedestrains pavements cleaner city afterall abuja is meant to be the face of nigeria somehow

The okada riders should be able to cater for areas that have poor transport links, im sure a high percentage of workers in Abuja dont live in the city center.

Commercial motorcyclists, popularly called okada, are to stop plying the routes in the city centre of Abuja from October 1, 2006.

They would however be allowed to operate in other areas of the Federal Capital Territory.

This was disclosed by the special assistant to the FCT minister on information and strategy, Hajiya Amina Sahilu, during a radio programme monitored over the weekend.

She said the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) had acquired buses that would ply routes in the city centre. The special assistant blamed the high rates of accidents on Abuja roads on the okada operators.

The new buses, which are red in colour, were seen moving round the city last Friday morning.

In a swift reaction, some okada riders said such an order would be resisted. Clement Effiong wondered what routes the FCTA wanted them to ply, adding that with the large number of their members, such directive would be snubbed.

It all depends on the kind of business you want to start. And also there are still so many opportunities in the UK because the environment changes very quickly and solutions are always required to problems. Those solutions can then be sold and money made. So I don't believe that one.
