This is my story. I was a graduate assistant in federal university ndufu alike ikwo in Ebony state. I was employed in 2O13 and in 2O14 I enrolled for my Master degree in FUTO. I finished course work in 2O15 and started my project finished it in July 2O16 waited for a year before my HOD scheduled us for the of bench and internal defence waited for another 8 month before i was scheduled for the final defence which I did in February this year. In march 27 this year the V.C terminated our appointment on the basis that we have exceeded three years and yet to present our statement of result. We pleaded but he refused. In April 26 I was issued my statement of result. I went back to present it but he refused reinstating me. Now since march I've been out of job. I borrowed money to pay the additional three years school fees FUTO made me owe. I learnt how to sew but have no machine I only use needle and thread to make good cloths I have videos and pictures of my works uploaded on my IG. No one will give me their clothes to sew with needle and thread. My mother has been sick since July. On tuesday the doctor asked us to take her away because we couldn't pay for the treatment. I decided to go hawk pure water yesterday but couldn't even raise up to 3OOO naira. The shocking thing is I went to the school on Monday to realise that our salaries are still entry but the V.C is the one collecting the money. Meaning DAT the federal government doesn't even know that about 21of us had been sacked and so the government still pays but we aren't receiving it. Please I want you all to help me so that this gets to the appropriate authority ( the president, vice President and so on). Its not fair on us. Please help.

If this is a genuine ordeal.......it very very bad and evil.

When did u serve and what did u read these are what will determine your stand. if ur tired of Abuja go to owerri IMO state as I talk to u now their are plenty of job their in fact no body to take up jobs in owerri. the same thing in abia state as well no body to take up jobs so many jobs their. You can go their irrespective of wheather ur igbo or Yoruba it doesn't matter if u meet the requirements u will be given the offer. at least a graduate earns nothing less than 110,000 for a start. My best and honest Advice for any Nigerian graduate now is:

If your sponsors are still interested in your career while waiting for jobs.....learn a skill or improve on your discipline by gaining more professional certifications or go for higher degree......I highly recommend learning any skill that can provide your basic needs while in search of the big job.

You could learn skills like mobile phone repairs, making of clothes like female wears, men suits etc, learn how to make shoes, flip flops, sandals etc, learn catering, laundering, go into snail farming, goat rearing, plantains and banana , fish farming, how to operate industrial machines like sachet and bottle water productions machines, learn tiling, interior designing, how to make liquid soaps, how to repair laptops, how to cut hair, how to make female hair, plumbing etc then if you like business so much but still get a skill.....look for fast moving products or raw food items to sell like, sales of Irish potatoes, water melon, cabbage, plantain, banana, yam, stock fish, crayfish, eggs, beef, goat meat, chicken, tomato paste, body cares, sales of machine parts, keke parts, bedsheets, semolina, plantain flour, Harris, beans etc....


If you can put your pride aside....u know what I mean, the attitude of I am a Bsc holder, master's holder etc put that attitude aside....learn any of those skills mentioned above....you are good to go.

In places like Abuja, since your father or mother or uncles are not senators, governors, bot chairmen, bank MD, etc.....those skills will sort you out.

Think of it this way, a senator can not fix his plumbing issues, electrical problems, weeds his surroundings, tends to his flowers, wash his clothes, cut his own hair etc.....you see that is where these side skills come in.

And I can tell you this, many graduates that have acquired these skills are earning more than the so called office jobs. You were suit every morning, enjoy AC, speak good English, all for 40k per month or 50k per month or even 70k per month......

But a small service you render with "dirty clothes", without grammar, inside natural breeze...within 30mins to 1 hour...can earn you 5k minimum to 20k depending on your bargaining power. With just one client.

Please and please, make I wrote for pidgin.....if u know get connection, abeg as u dey find job, go learn handiwork. E go pay u well. Anytime work come, u fit still dey combine nam with ur handiwork....but if na very big job.....like Exxon mobile, NNPC, CBN, fIRS, etc....u fit leave the handwork or even put one for your trained boys to be handling it for you.


Abeg know let ABI graduate attitude deceive u.

Education know be like before again.

If you are not interested in all these above, and u get beta sponsor, u fit travel abroad.......and again your skills for here for help u too abroad or u go school again study beta course for abroad then begin work and earn very well.

Nigerian leaders have lost it.

Security of lives and properties is the sole responsibilities of the Government of Nigeria.

Unfortunately, most of our leaders are busy with their 2019 elections and re-elections.

Praying without actions isn't enough to stop these incessant killings happening all over the country.

Nigerian Government should do the needful.

What is the moral of this

Our leaders really need to wake up to their responsibilities.

Proactive measures would have been taken in these regard to curb this menace.

Unfortunately, most of our leaders are focused on their re-election campaign while their people are dying everyday.

This is totally unacceptable.

Leaders of this country owe all Nigerians security of lives and properties.

It is one of the most vital investment a country can make.

Nigerians are willing to learn but the places of learning aren't encouraging.

Let the Government focus on making our institutions world class standard, so that in no distance time, her investment would pay off enormously.

I am yet to discover the moral benefits of these showbiz to our younger generation.
