[b] All these TANoids and their wild allegations.
Show us statistics to back up your claim about Fashola's IGR and his expenditure before we will listen to you.

Look below and see GEJ's mismanagement skills

We are not supposed to be broke to the point of devaluing the Naira immediately oil price went south.
Corruption and not Boko Haram is the problem.
The $1Billion borrowed to fight insecurity is nothing compared to what is being stolen annually in Nigeria. We estimate between 10 and 15 Billion US Dollars is stolen every year in Nigeria public sector.

Take a look at this statistics:

OBJ (2007 Ave.)
Reserves: $53 billion
National Debt: $17Billion (12% of GDP)
Oil Price: $64/barrel

Yar'adua (2009 Ave.)
Reserves: $42 billion
National Debt: $21Billion (11.6% of GDP)
Oil Price: $53/barrel

GEJ (2014 Ave.)
Reserves: $38 Billion
National Debt: $49Billion (18.5% of GDP)
Oil Price: $89/barrel

Oil Price Chart: www.nairaland.com/attachments/2006543_2015010806_09_56_jpeg2ff3fed32640f68a143f27ad54c27917

With the best oil price regime sustained over a long period, GEJ's govt cannot claim to have performed better that Yar'adua or OBJ. Nigeria may never get the sustained high oil price oppprtunity we got under GEJ.
But under GEJ, no improvement in Power, worsening Security, No Refineries, Oil bunkering of 400,000 barrels per day.

Again, who is fooling who? GEJ has the worst stewardship of the past 3 PDP Presidents.

Did you read 400,000 barrels of crude oil is stolen daily by oil bunkerers? Tompolo is supposed to be protecting Nigeria from these bunkerers. Tompolo has bought private jet, warships while Asari's building a university in Benin Republic.
400,000 barrels per day at 80 per barrel is about $10 Billion stolen annually.

Would you rather GEJ or Fashola?

PoliticsLAGOS MEGA RALLY: Jonathan Stalled $1.354bn Lekki Deep Sea Port - Fashola by LRNZH(op): 4:26am On Jan 17, 2015
Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, yesterday, accused the People’s Democratic Party, PDP-led Federal Government of stalling the construction of the $1.354 billion Lekki Deep Seaport, saying “FG failed to fulfill its own side of the agreement.”

The Federal Government had on December 4th, 2013 approved the construction of the Lekki Deep Sea Port for construction.

https://dvsl3w2q45hb8.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/APC-Governorship-campaignin.gif
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola SAN (roof top), during the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Mega Rally at Open Round about, by Post Office, Apapa, Lagos, on Friday.

Fashola who disclosed this at the second Mega rally of the All Progressives Party, APC, in Apapa axis of the state, lamented that the party at the centre (PDP) has failed to fulfill all the promises it made to the residents of Lagos four years ago.

The governor said, “We are building the Lekki Deep Sea port, the investors have brought their own share of the required fund and Lagos State Government has provided the land. But it is saddening that the central government has failed to fulfill its own side of the bargain which was to providing $117 million of the total cost of the project.”
He added, “Rather than handover this fund for this project which will create employment, Federal Government was busy transferring the fund elsewhere.

Fashola lamented that the FG had failed to yield to the plight of the citizens, saying, “It is alarming that traders spend several days before they could clear their goods from the Tin Can and Apapa Ports. And this has continued because the PDP-led Federal Government has mismanaged the ports.”

The governor also blamed the Federal government for what he called “unprofessional act” as being responsible “for investors who were planning to withdraw about N1.7 trillion from the country’s economy.”
Fashola queried, “The mismanagement of the country’s economy and the inability to address insurgency must have been responsible for the withdrawal of this huge fund.”

Buhari Not Too Old to Rule Nigeria
The governor also faulted the claims by some critics that APC Presidential candidate, Major General Muhammadu Buhari is too old to rule Nigeria.
He stressed that Buhari is not too old to govern the country, but what Nigerians needed now is a trusted and credible candidate who can properly manage the nation’s resources.

The governor argued that current development in the country has shown that a younger person without big ideas and competence cannot rule Nigeria successfully.
Fashola said the nation’s most challenging problems are insecurity and corruption which, he said could only be tackled by Buhari given his track records.

According to him, “Some people are challenging me that if I say Agbaje is too old to govern Lagos, what about Buhari who is older? My response is this: We all agree that we have problem of insecurity in the country. Between Jonathan and Buhari who is the most experienced to tackle security issue? We all know Buhari as an experienced security expert.

“Then on corruption issue, who is the most credible among them? It is only Buhari. He has ruled Nigeria before, he has headed several positions without record of corruption and mismanagement.
“You know Jonathan has confirmed that he has failed the nation. So don’t vote for failure vote Buhari.”

On Lekki Toll Gate
Fashola who also took a swipe on Agbaje over plan to discontinue toll collection on Lekki Epe Expressway said the PDP candidate lacks understanding of the dynamics of modern ways of developing infrastructure.
He appealed to the residents to vote wisely, saying such decision would discourage foreign investors from investing in the nation’s economy.

Agbaje’s Statement Divisive
The governor also lashed out at PDP, gubernatorial candidate, Jimi Agbaje for a statement credited to him that the South-South will collapse the nation’s economy if Jonathan loses in the incoming election.
According to him, “Making such statement is wrong. And anyone who wishes to lead or govern do not make such divisive statement. The reason Lagos is safe, was that we have lived in peace coexistence and harmony despite our diversity.
That showed that Agbaje is inexperienced.
And that was why I told you that do not experiment with Lagos. Ambode will not make such statement. We need leaders who build cohesion and not those who promote division.

Ambode Promises Relief for Apapa Traffic Gridlock
On his part, APC governorship candidate Akinwunmi Ambode promised to give his all to eradicate the perennial traffic gridlock in Apapa area of the state.
Ambode noted that the hectic traffic in the area was caused by the activities of the articulated vehicles loading fuel and containers from Apapa port, adding that the situation in Apapa is a pointer to the failure of the federal government.

PoliticsI Spent More On Military Equipment Than Jonathan — Buhari by LRNZH(op):
The Campaign team of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Candidate, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), yesterday, tackled President Goodluck Jonathan on his comments during his presidential campaign flag-off in Lagos that Buhari did not equip the military when he was head of state.

https://dvsl3w2q45hb8.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/Jonathan-Buhari2.jpg

Citing a comparative study of the amount spent by various governments on military hardware as part of total defence budget, the Buhari team in a statement by Mr. Dele Alake (Director, Strategic Communications, Buhari Campaign Organisation), said the Buhari administration spent more than the Yar’Adua/Jonathan administration in real terms.

Published in the Journal of African Macroeconomic Review, Volume 2 Number 1, the study, entitled: “ Comparative Regime Analysis of the Trend and Structure of Military Expenditure in Nigeria, 1980-2010,” revealed that while the Buhari/Idiagbon spent 38.68 per cent of total allocation to the military on capital items such as military hardware between January 1984 and August 1985 when it was overthrown, the Yar’Adua/Jonathan administration spent 34.67 per cent of military budget between May 2007 and May 2010.

Authored by Anyanwu Sarah, Egwaikhide Chris and Aiyedogbon John Olu Coris, the study observed as follows: “Buhari/Idiagbon in 1984 also allocated 38.68 per cent and 61.32 per cent for capital milex and recurrent respectively. They spent approximately 16 months. The Ibrahim Babangida regime (1985-1993) spent 19.58 per cent on capital milex and 80.42 per cent on recurrent milex. Abacha/Shonekan/Abdulsalam (1993-1999) regime expended 24.10 per cent on capital milex and 75.9 per cent on recurrent milex.

The civilian administration of Olusegun Obasanjo (1999-2007) for a period of eight years, spent 17.44 per cent of her total milex on capital milex and 82.56 per cent on recurrent milex. Yar’adua/Jonathan (2008-2010) had so far spent 34.67 per cent on capital milex and 65.33 per cent on recurrent.”

Milex refers to military expenditure.

Other studies show that since Jonathan took over the reins of leadership, the capital budget for military hardware has been decreasing while recurrent has been increasing.

For instance, analysing the 2012 defence spending as proposed by the Jonathan administration, APC Governorship Candidate for Kaduna State, Mallam Nassir el-Rufai observed: “When one carefully peruses the capital budgets of the DHQ and Army, most of the capital spending is going towards buildings, some ammunition and vehicle spares.

This year, we are not buying any equipment for the armoured, artillery and other mechanisation needs of the Army – at least not anywhere in the budget.

“The Navy and Air Force are slightly better. The Navy is buying two (yes only two) offshore patrol vessels and six coastal patrol boats and some spares. The Air Force intends to acquire 12 Augusta 109 helicopters, some uniforms, the reactivation of C-130, G222, Alpha Jets and maintenance, and some buildings. No new fighter jets this year!”

The situation was worse in the recently signed Budget 2015 which allocated 90 per cent of military expenditure to salaries and other recurrent needs while a meagre 10 per cent went to military hardware.

Ernest Chinwo in Port Harcourt.
The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) has issued a seven-day ultimatum to former militants opposed to its adoption of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, to have a rethink or face the wrath of the movement.

The movement said the former militants should reject President Goodluck Jonathan and declare their support for Buhari or face the wrath of the movement.

In a statement on-line entitled: ‘Ultimatum to the Vultures Who Call Themselves Former Commanders/Militants’ and signed by Jomo Gbomo, MEND said it was reacting to the “empty musings by some of our hungry compatriots, who were incidentally a part of the struggle for the liberation of the Niger Delta, on the issue of our declaration of support for Buhari.”

The statement said: “We are aware that there are some bad eggs in our fold and these are people who are ready to eat today and sell their future because of the morsel of porridge they are getting from their benefactors. Among such people are Gen. Pastor Reuben Wilson and Gen. Paul Eris, alias Ogunboss who recently went to the media to disgrace themselves, claiming to be supporting the clueless and visionless Goodluck Jonathan on sentimental grounds.

“We are aware that they must have been paid by their ogas at the top to fight their family and we are not surprised; just that it is worrisome that they have chosen to die for a man who cannot do anything tangible for his state, or his people, or even those of them the freedom fighters who are now carrying his cross and staking their future and name for a cause that will not yield anything.

“It was even shocking that Gen. Pastor had to go all the way in Uyo to do a campaign for Jonathan who does not deserve any support. Whatever peanuts they are getting today should not be the reason for them to sell their conscience in the name of supporting the president against Buhari.

“No matter what Jonathan must have given them today, it cannot be compared to what the future has in stock for us, with Buhari. So, we have decided to stay on with Buhari because we know that with him, there will be a better Nigeria where corruption and insurgency will be a thing of the past.

“Our decision to support Buhari is total and final. That is what the likes of Gen Wilson and Gen Ogunboss should know. They can eat from Jonathan’s table for all we care. But they should also watch their back.

“They may not have realised the consequences of their action today. That is why we are giving them seven days to retrace their steps, reject Jonathan and come to where they are supposed to belong. As we get ready to launch Hurricane No Return, we are urging them repent and join the train for change. It will be in their best interest to stop their tirade and advise themselves properly; otherwise they will regret their actions.

“Our mission is change. It does not matter who will bring the change. If Buhari is the man that can come with the change that Nigerians need, so be it; he has our support. We will continue to support him. You will hear from us on this matter again, soon.”

My ribs are cracking hard... This is just a funny piece. I have nothing against any tribe but you are a funny dude.. grin grin grin

MayorofLagos:
My brother, this is the problem I continue to have with Yoruba! Yoruba need to learn to discriminate, our attitude and brand of justicqe and fairness to all need to change. In social interaction with Yorubas no one demands reasoning, there is no need for it because it issues naturally as part of cultural ethos in our relationship with ourselves. We extend these ethos to others in the philosophical belief that "we must do unto others as we want them do unto us", which is an admirable quality out of the omoluabi creed. This is what makes us a fair and just and orderly society.

We truly must identify with those who were groomed in similar ethics and treat them as our peers. Those whose cultural society was not organized and ordered like ours and have apathy to our ethics and omoluabi creeds do not belong in same circle of social heirarchy as Yorubas, therefore we must discriminate. Our society was not structured by constitution but by culture and customs. We are not peers with Ibos....they are subhuman to us, therefore in our interaction we must not demand reason out of them or ask for analysis, they are not Yorubas and are not benevolently gifted with a capability for reasoning.

You talk to Ibo the same way you will address a donkey.....you tell him what you need to say and influence his response, if his response is rebellious, as most likely it would be, then you flog him into submission. He respects those who use force to subdue him...he sees rebellion and force as a perfect mix and calls it bravery. He does not respect persuasion and grace, which Yorubas are known for, and is why he calls us cowards.

You have spent two, almost three pages trying to get a donkey to accept what you are saying....and on the third page you are still calling for him to apply (analytics), a value that has no meaning to him whatsoever. Where is your whip to beat the freak into submission? grin

Cheers bro! cheesy cheesy

This is an illusion under the present government. Watch how Nigeria will pile up more debt and burn all of its foreign reserves under a $60/barrel oil price regime if GEJ is reelected.

You people don't see it. Under the best oil oil price in the history of Nigeria (ave. of 90$/barrel), GEJ has nothing to show from a developmental standpoint but has increased our debt and reduced our foreign reserve.

... President Jonathan had said that a new international terminal for the Enugu Airport will cost N13 billion naira. The question is, has any funds been committed to build the international terminal. Is there any budgetary allocation for the terminal for the year 2015? The answer is negative. Therefore the Enugu Airport project is a 419....

kettykin:
If Enugu international airport is a scam what are we going to call ibadan Airport, Akure Airport and Illorin Airport which even though was designed for the taking off and landing of Airlines are now used for the taking off and landing birds and rodents
That's the thrust of the author's article.

Why are Ndi Igbos hailing Jonathan for a scam that other regions already know already?
Only Ndi Igbo is hailing airports refurbishment as a great achievement

The "consistent" flooding was just ONE flooding incident that happened mid last year.
And if you want to sit there and spew trash, I can show you pictures of flooded airports in developed countries as well.
I'm someone who has traveled to other countries to know you're simply a bonehead trying to make an issue out of a non-issue.
Weren't you the same clown who once created a thread trying to compare GEJ's trains with trains from other countries, only to post pictures of TRAMS in there?

That's enough to tell you're simply an ignoramus trying to spread nonsense propaganda.
Don't derail the thread. Answer the other part of the question. Are international airlines using the Enugu airport apart form scanty Ethiopian flights to Addis Ababa?

Guy!!!!
It is obvious you didn't read this article. Check the source. It was published today, Jan. 13, 2015.
Excerpt:

This airport is a big risks to international airlines especially those from Europe, America, Asia, Middle East because it is international in propaganda and not in facilities. Egypt Air and South African Airways have rejected overtures to use the airport. The only airlines that had the magnanimity to use the Airport are Ethiopian Airline which operates skeletal flights to Addis Ababa and in connecting flights to some destinations.
The Turkish Airlines signed agreement in principle as announced by Vice President Sambo a year ago but fled back to Greece after inspecting the equipments on the ground. If that airport is truly international airlines like Virgin Atlantic Airways, Lufthansa Airlines, British Airways, KLM, British Caledonian Airlines, Oatar Airways, Emirates Airlines will ply the route, but for now all overtures from certain quarters to lure these carriers to Enugu have failed woefully due to what they termed poor quality infrastructure. As at January, 2015, no airline from Europe, America, Asia and Middle East have landed or taken off from Enugu International Airport.

Has any of this changed? Is the writer lying?
Samchelsea:
how will work progress on it when those evil propaganda team succeed in implicating the gallant woman that started the giant stride....see bro we Igbos are wiser now, if we see someone doing something commendable we don't repay his goodwill with insult rather appreciation
In Jonathan we stand bro
Look up and read again.

So after all the insults this is your best answer? I laugh in mnemonics. You GEJites take directly after the clueless in chief.

From your answer above, the writer is not lying. I don't need your apologies.
