Actually I am winning. Apparently, he had gone to edit his comment and taken my name off. cheesy

When asked to provide weblinks, he tries to spin it back on me.....upon further insistence, he ignorantly tells you, he does not have credible weblink.

And what does he do? He goes offtopic to start mentioning some blabbing mumbo-jumbo like as if, that would bail him out. When he sees that he has lost, he returns again, to start attacking Dino Melaye........the dude simply does not know when his intellectual foolishness stinks up the whole place. grin

What a clown!
Again, my hint is subtle: Your word against a Nigeria Police man's word at a Nigeria Police Station. You can never win. Just let it go.

We have conclusively proven until shown otherwise with verifiable evidence that GMB earns N2.3M per month as pension.
OP Take note.

This is a very simple matter.

Dino Melaye is not a motor park tout. His name carries some weight.
Until I see a credible source debunk this N2.3M per month salary for GMB, Dino who claims to have verified his claims from the Ministry of finance, and quoted by various dailies is right.

Your word against Dino? I'd rather Dino.

Pataki don't argue too much. Let each man chose what he wants to believe.

How will he tackle inflation? If we must move forward me should be asking, "how will you".

No import dependent nation can tackle inflation, ask Zimbabwe.
You are correct and even currency devaluation.

Stable power is a big issue in Nigeria. Imagine what would have come out of Aba, PH, Kano and Lagos in terms of manufacturing if we had at least sustained 18 hrs of cheap power per day.
Small businesses will thrive as well. That is providing a basis for export to surrounding countries.

Adequate refining capacity will free up the hard earned foreign exchange we use to import fuel and pay subsidy to cabal. That's savings to plough into other sectors of te economy. The locally refined fuel, we can export as well to neighbouring WA countries.

Agriculture provides very mwaningful employmwnt and some Forex from export as well.

Let's not overflog the issue. GEJ had 5 years and none of this issue was meaningfully addressed. That's why he won't get my vote in FeBuhari and I'm campaigning for GMB.

Even if you don' fancy GMB, know that he is a better option than GEJ in 2015.

LRNZH

When you give them N1m each to go into small/medium scale production businesses

1) Price Inflation would fall because the production will climb up leading to higher supply.

As supply catches up with demand, price falls. Remember the law of demand and supply.

2) They won't waste that money if

a) they are told to pay back in every year for at most 10years. Which is easy to pay.

b) Their certificates, international passports and other documents are used as collateral and they are banned from travelling without government approval.

c) they are told to bring guarantors that can be arrested if they run away.

What do you think.
There is not much wrong with your proposal. It is not a new idea. There are agencies set up to do this already like NDE, NEXIM, Nigerian Agric Bank, MSME banks, SURE-P.... Community Banks etc

The institutions listed above are just not efficient that is why you don't feel their impact. Another evidence of GEJ's failings since Feb. 2010.

My point is if done on a very large scale at once, we would grapple with run away inflation because of too much money in the economy.

I do not see a problem with GMB's sugestion of N5K per month if it is planned to be a palliative for say 3 years to discourage societal ills among youths etc until the economy is cleaned up and booming again.
PoliticsRe: BUHARINOMICS: As Head Of State, I Refused To Devalue Naira by LRNZH(op):
Redoil:
are you still here consoling urself after the uppercut by gej in APC stronghold yesterday?
Let us not derail the thread but I can easily point out the weaknesses from GEJ's campaign in Lagos.

1. He harped on CHANGE instead of CONTINUITY. Change is APC's slogan. He was supposed to focus on what he has achieved and how we will continue to inprove. In attacking APC's message he could not tell Lagosians what he has done for them since Feb. 2010. He sounded like an opposition candidate attacking the incumbent GMB.

2. He made many technical blunders like
a. claiming to have queued for milk for 2 days in 1983. GMB became head of state on Dec 31, 1983. The last day of 1983. Is Shagari not to blame for his queue?
b. Alleging that MEND tried to assassinate him. This a man who absolved MEN of any wrong doing and even attempted to rope his then political foe IBB through Dokpesi. 4 years later GEJ accuses mend of planning assassination because they endorsed GMB and APC. Henry Okah jailed in SA was never charged for planning presidential assassination.
c. He claimed that GMB never bought a rifle for the Army. This one is hilarious. GMB bought more important armaments than rifles. That has been debunked on NL. If not being clueless, a man who never bought rifle defeated Maitatsine in less han 1 year while GEJ is still grappling with Boko Haram after 5 years and plenty rifles. He shot himself in the foot there.

3. After Lagos, he headed to Enugu instead of completing his SW campaign tour. That is so inefficient from a political strategy and energy saving standpoint.

This is not the topic of this thread but I just wanted you to know that GEJ messed up in Lagos.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Earns 23million Naira Per Month As Pension. by LRNZH(m): 3:16pm On Jan 09, 2015
My problem with some posters on NL is that they won't provide evidence or links when countering another post.

Let us be more prudent in our posting habits.
Don't mislead people.

I start with myself. I'm quoting from here:

http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=98264

...Recently, Dino Melaye, a former member of the House or Representatives, was so disturbed to hear that General Buhari could not afford 27 million naira APC nomination form, knowing well that all former Presidents and Heads of State get 23 million monthly since the period of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He decided to investigate the matter and later discovered that General Buhari personally wrote a letter to the minister of finance to pay him 10 percent of 23 million naira former Presidents and Heads of State do take as salary. So, he realized that General Buhari’s monthly payment is 2.3 million naira instead of 23 million naira. What a Nigerian!...

You should be the one to read the article again. The person who made the statement, made it on a personal capacity so stop saying CBN said and what she said is that 70% of youths are either emoloyed or unemployed. That still doesn't give a picture of the unemployment rate. In my little town in Anambra state, I can assure yiu that the unemployment rate is less than 4% and nobody from where I come from will be technically unemployed qith a Bachelor's degree let alone Masters degree. What happened to self employment?
Your RAM must be small. Read this again.

LRNZH:
Graduate unemployment I expect to be about similar levels. Remember, non educated people or non graduates are more inclined to learn a trade and be employed even if it is menial. More graduates sit at home looking or waiting for good jobs.

In any case, from empirical observation, I would expect the CBN to have more accurate data on gaduate unemployment than on non graduates because we know the gaduation number in Nigeria and can estimate employment numbers from income taxes. But for non graduates, it is more difficult to estimate.
Do you agree?
By the way, you refused to ponder this question:

enigmaotr:
How many people graduated in the last 5 years and how many graduates applied for employment in the Immigration Service last year. Now do the maths?
I don't know about you but I no longer think there is any more value to this thread. You can go ahead and chat with your friends but the OP doesn't prove much.

You created this thread for political reasons. That is why you failed to check current unemployment numbers or understand the context of unemployment under GMB's gov't before posting.

I hope you learnt something new today. I'm sure even jmaine whom I recognise as quite sensible was alarmed by the numbers he has seen.

At the post above,

Even without wasting 1% of my brain cells, if I were GMB's advisor, taking out Tompolo and the rot in NNPC will save us about $15Billion per annum.

Building an adequate local refining capacity will save us another $5+ Billion. If stable power is transformed within 2-3 years (15,000 MW for a start, which is very possible), that's more productivity and more earning in taxes for the gov't.

To stay conservative, $15Billion (27 Trillion Naira) per annum is enough to run such a welfare program until youth unemployment rate is drastically brought down from its current level of 80% (CBN figure) to say 30%.

After that, they can stop such a welfare. N5,000 monthly is not enough incentive not to look for a job.

I think you underestimate the level of Nigeria's riches and the scale of corruption going on in Nigeria under GEJ.

If our past presidents make 23 mil per month, why steal? 23 mil a month can sustain whatever lifestyle they want as a former president till they die. This Nigerian greed is another level...
Ask GEJ.

Dino Melaye confirmed from the Ministry of Finance that GMB asked that only 10% of what Ex Presidents earn that is N2.3M out of N23M be paid to him.

That's why he had to borrow 27M which is his annual total renumeration.
GMB doesn't brag. That is why this information is new to many people.

Most of Buhari supporters, and you in particular, still see Buhari as a military man instead of a bloody civilian. You still see him kobokoing and frog jumping people, arresting and detaining people without trial.(Let me laugh like a bloody civilian grin grin). I sincerely advise all of you Buhari supporters to remove the scales from your eyes and face reality. And the reality is that Buhari is now a bloody civilian and a politician aspiring to work in a democracy hence all the military paraphernalia for one man show are gone and will have to contend with democratic norms which I believe are alien to him. Thus I see him failing woefully as president. He will be a figure head president. In fact, he has already failed because he has joined corrupt politicians who are sponsoring his campaigns. He is no longer a one man authority but owned by a political party.
Before you digress from the point at hand, answer my question first. After that we can discuss your new points.

Now, let's make this simpler and interesting.

Starting from your immediate family, tell us how many graduates are unemployed 2 years after graduating. Then move yo your extended family ie uncles, aunties, cousins etc and tell us the percentage of graduates that are not employed as we speak. You can extend further to your local community.
I have two in my house. One with a Masters Degree and another with a BA. Just leave the matter .

Like I showed you, CBN has closed this issue by stating that there is 80% youth unemployment in Nigeria.

Don't mind Jonathan, I once went to an LGA very close to his many years ago. They had an award winning rice farm established by military regimes laying fallow for like 20 years. Completely abandoned hectares upon hectares of farmland be sure of oil and gas. The man and the educated tilling class in the Niger delta are completely empty and I am sorry tor being tribalistic but the truth must be told about this man who was deputy governor and governor there for at least six years. If you hop on a chopper ride from portharcourt to what is caller Nun River, you overtly for about 45minutes some of the most impressive fresh water rainforest land interspersed by hundreds of mini rivers before you even get to the rice farms.so many opportunities thrown away in the Niger Delta by the most unintelligent and dumbest president Nigeria has ever had.
I don't want to even bring up the sense of entitlement that has destroyed the psyche of the average Niger Deltan. I get your point.

In any argument that involves performance, GEJ will fail immediately it is scrutinised under sound judgment.
GEJ and Shagari would be my candidates for the dumbest President Nigeria ever had. I can't tell who is dumber.

My point was GEJ made a freudian slip by saying 1983. He was right but it was under Shagari. Everyone that's worth his salt knows this. So why even argue GEJ's point?

PoliticsRe: GEJ Lied, Nigerians Still Queue For Basic Commodities Today. by LRNZH(m): 12:36pm On Jan 09, 2015
But the question I ask is.... why are we blaming GMB for GEJ's suffering in 1983?

The coup that brought GMB to power was in Dec. 31, 1983. So GMB effectively started Jan 1, 1983 until Aug. 27, 1985.

So 1993 was all under Shagari except for the day of the govt changeover- the last day of the year.

I am looking for answers.
