The business of printing in Nigeria is set to undergo a significant revolution as Skysat Technologies partners with Konica Minolta to introduce the latest technology in digital printing to the country. Addressing a press conference in Lagos, the representatives of both companies shed light on the vision behind the partnership and the tremendous benefits it will bring to the country’s economy. Mr. Izzat Debs, Managing Director, SkySat Technologies, said: “We are very hapy at this very important partnership with Konica Minolta. What we offering to Nigeria is one of the most modern and reliable digital printing technologies. This is a synergy of both German and Japanese technology. The equipment run practically error-free. Even ordinary paper jams are almost non-existent. We offer world-class service back-up by our team of German-trained engineers. “The most important point is that we offer customer training in our classroom and provide all necessary spares and consumable for smooth running. Another major advantage for Konica Minolta users is that we will grant them access to a world class, web-based training programme, called M-Plus. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “We are also bringing together aspiring entrepreneurs in the digital printing business to train and equip them with the skills to successfully run a digital commercial print shop. This initiative is our contribution to reduce employment rate and empower youths across the country, thereby helping them contribute our quota to the nation’s economic growth,” he said. In his own remarks, Mr. Michael Hans Mier, Business Support Manager, Africa, Konica Minolta, noted that his company was helping to check the scourge of capital flight, occasioned by off-shore printing of some high-profile jobs. He said: “Not only does printing overseas come at a high cost to local businesses, but it of course also amounts to a loss of business for hard working Nigerians. “With our ground breaking and award winning technology – BLI awards for PRESS C8000, C7000 and PRO 1200, and with Skysat’s highly trained sales and technical team , Konica Minolta will be able to provide the solutions for this country’s print demands: Not printed in Europe but proud to be printed here in Nigeria.” he added. Skysat Limited, which is the authorized distributor of Konica Minolta products in Nigeria, is the leading suppliers of new photographic equipment in the country, with excellent technical support and constant training of operators and technicians. |
I was browsing on the web and i came about this I was sitting in my car, on my way to a meeting and I tuned the radio to 102.3 fm (Radio Continental). It was 4:30 pm and they were doing a particular show at that time. The name of the show was ‘wetin dey’. I decided to listen a little and lo and behold, they were presenting a segment sponsored by Golden Penny noodles. Now all the presenters were dialoguing in ‘pidgin english’ and the segment they were about to present was a segment for kids where they have to call in and answer a question with chances of winning prizes. If you want to call in during this segment, you shouldn’t be more than 15 years. I was very surprised when kids started calling in and the same mode, the ‘pidgin English’ was used to communicate to them and they also answered in the same manner. Some of the kids that called in just came back from school and they were speaking ‘pidgin english’. Very young kids! No wonder our kids of nowadays can’t speak fluent English. I must say that is very irresponsible on the path of the presenters of that particular show, the Golden Penny Noodles brand and the radio station (Radio Continental) for encouraging such. What are we teaching our children? In the same vein, we at Brand Focus have come out to say that that particular program should either be scrapped, or the segment for the children should be taken down immediately. If it is not done in the next three weeks, a formal letter will be written to Golden Penny Noodles Company stating our dissatisfaction with that particular program and if there isn’t any prompt response, they will hear from our lawyers. We at Brand Focus speak for the public. We analyze brands and events and discourage those that aren’t good for the public and at the end of the year; we reveal the best brands of the year. It is our country. Let us not use our hands to destroy it. God bless Nigeria. http://brandfocusng..com/2012/01/golden-penny-noodles-disgrace-to.html Read and post your opinions. |
