First thing first, I wld suggest we get ppl to volunteer their time, most probably we in Lagos * To help look for a place, preferably around beaches, because of the view, as it concerns pictures * Allow all brands of cars, arranged accordingly as cars come, part of the job of the volunteers * Get a good position/spot where d food and drinks wld be served, maybe with light music My suggestion, my bad! It simply means I am game. I can bet u if this idea sail thru, u wld not believe where it will get to, even d car dealers might want to come and display their cars in the subsequent meeetings |
timbros: Just came back from work yesterday and saw my bill. Guess how much? 13k+ against the usual 400-#500 I use to pay. I asked my neighbour, he said his own is 10k.My broda, it is not enough to say that you nor go pay dis money, ask ursef dis very important question 1. Do u knw of the new increment in tariff that was announced by d Fed Govt sometime ago, so u cannot compare what u were paying b4 and now. 2. Do u have a meter and are u sure it is working? - U wld be their (PHCN) prey, try as much as u can 2 get a Prepaid Meter fast. 3. Check ur bill there is a number for your marketer at d lower part of the bill - Call it and find out what d problem is from d mkter. 4. What is ur location, u might be seen like other big guys in that neighborhood, most probably if u don't have a meter 5. Do sometin b4 d money go accumulate wey u begin beg for it to be reduced for u |
dikkybutt: Isn't it a shame - a very big shame- that Imeh Usuah, the Abuja-based Taxi Driver, who made headlines earlier this year when he returned Items worth 18 Million Naira that a passenger forgot in his Car, didn't make this years honours list?I am sure u also know that the usefulness of the awards have not been told to Nigerians, so maybe because they (the govt) knows that it might be useless to him even if they give him, he cannot use it for anything, even when contracts want to be awarded, they won't remember him, so just leave the man alone, not until we know what these awards would be used for... |
hercules07: Waiting for the El-Rufai haters to come out, he is praising both GEJ and Barth Nnaji here. I do not believe the PHCN should be privatized, I think the sector should be deregulated, what worked in the telecomms sector was deregulation not privatization. If only all Nigerians wld understand this. Everybody say that 'they want PHCN to be PRIVATIZE, like the Govt did for NITEL', but the simple truth is that NITEL was not privatized. NITEL (0804... and some of its lines, even equipment) was still in existence when the likes of MTN came, but Govt and its cronnies let NITEL to crumble because they had interest in some of the telecommunication Companies then. The Govt shld deregulated that sector such that there will stiff competition, unlike the idea of wanting to sell it (PHCN) at the meager amount, even to themselves like we saw with Barth Nnaji's action. |

Something that "made absolutely no damn sense" according 2 u finally got some kind of response from you. If u read my article carefully, u will find out that I didn't say it is good or shld be supported. It is only a term paper and bet u. I certainly wld write against the act of spouse cheating on each other. So please hold your emotion and stop insulting others, if u don't have contribution, just skip it. Regards |
I am taking a survey why and must (Compulsorily) a woman cheat on her husband. We would also come to discussing about some of the flimsy reasons why men do same, but lets narrow our contribution to the thread on our women for now. Backup stories of how some happened would be welcomed, say for instance. 1. A woman can be forced to doing it because of pressure from her boss and the fear of being sacked 2. The man is very selfish - doesn't provide 3. A payback, because the man does it too, etc. Note: Be very constructive Thanks |
If only Nigerians understand the gimmick that the Fed Govt is doing with this. I must say that they are very serious and sincere about privatization of the system and the fact that it will certainly bring about some change, but we must understand what happen in the case of NITEL which everybody believed today that it was privatized, but truly was commercialized and they crumbled NITEL because they really cannot manage it and also because they don't want competition due to some of their little interest in the communication biz then. If they sell PHCN - its building facilities, transformers, poles, the cables, even the money they are investing on it now, all for NGN200Bn. Do a thorough calculation of it, without sentiment. The workers are also asking that they pay them off reasonably before they come take it over and no qualms! Don't also bother yourself with the fact that it is not the Distribution Coys that generate the light, they only buy from the National Grid and sell to Customers and that is why we don't have enough light to go round, since they have excuse why generation cannot improve now because no gas or water level is either 2 low or overflow. The Distribution Coy can only be blame for not making available transformers to community (if they have), clear fault when reported and some unscrupulous element called Marketers extorting ignorant customers (few that do not know their right). Don't also bother about the cost of energy then since buyers would be allowed to make profit, since the present cost of electricity is subsidized by Govt (MYTO) Please do not misquote me - Privatization of the system is good and would be encourage, but aware of its eminent dangers and be prepared for the worst. |
use a head not your emotion From report reaching me, It is a know fact that the rate of HIV victim in South Africa is far more than we have in Nigeria. I hope you are not putting yourself in this situation by letting your emotion rule you. You sounded like somebody that would not mind if your hubby (when u are married) cheat or leave you for somebody else and return to you, with some flimsy excuses. i word is enough for the wise.... BE WISE! |

I think we should be very happy that everybody is coming to terms with Computer literacy. All I would suggest is for those that went to study it at the Universities should find ways to go further than what was studied, in that regard we would have guys doing some Artificial Intelligence stuff which can not be acquired on the streets. There was a time in my career that I was organizing Computer classes just to educate Nigerians and now i should be delighted about this development. |
A former chief security officer (CSO) to the late Gen. Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, yesterday informed a Lagos High Court in Igbosere that he only asked Sgt. Barnabas Jamila (a.k.a. Sgt Rogers) to clean his gun but not to use it to kill Alhaja Kudirat Abiola. He added that the ammunition with silencer that was used to kill Kudirat did not emanate from him and that he did not instruct Sgt. Rogers to kill Kudirat. In a confessional statement he made before the Special Investigation Panel (SIP), Al-Mustapha had said, “It could be true that I gave him (Rogers) my arm for cleaning which used to be my pattern of giving my arm whenever we come back from range exercise. ‘But, certainly I did not give him my personal arms and ammunition to kill Alhaja Kudirat Abiola with it. I did not send the sum of N50, 000 to Barnabas Jabila as claimed after he shot Alhaja Kudirat Abiola.’ The ex- CSO stated this during cross-examination by the Solicitor -General of Lagos State and the lead prosecution lawyer, Mr. Lawal Pedro (SAN). Lagos State government is prosecuting Al-Mustapha and Lateef Shofolahan, following their alleged involvement in the murder of Alhaja Kudirat Abiola. At the resumed hearing of the case yesterday, a fierce argument had ensued over the prosecution insistence that Al-Mutapha should read his confessional statement just as the ex-CSO had claimed that the statement was made under duress. But Justice Mojisola Dada overruled the objection of the lawyer to Al- Mustapha, Mr. Lekan Ojo, and directed the former CSO to read the content of his statement made to the SIP on October 13, 1999 in open court. In his statement made to the SIP, Al Mustapha had claimed that he might have given Sgt Rogers his gun to clean but not to kill late Kudirat Abiola. When asked about his relationship with Mohammed Abacha, he said, “My relationship with Mohammed Abacha was as a result of being the son of late Gen Abacha; my primary schedule includes his safety. He was arrested in connection with the issue of his father’s money. I was the first person to be arrested for his father’s money and I faced a panel. Mohammed Abacha was arrested simply because he was to be quizzed on one single issue – that is because of his father’s money – but he was framed into this matter because they were looking for Abacha’s money.” In the statement, Al-Mustapha said he met Sofolahan during the two million-man –march organised by the youths in Abuja and that one Sariki Shasha introduced Shofolahan to him as an informant. But before he read the letter, Al-Mustapha told the court that although he was not a lawyer, the statement he was asked to read was dictated to him by the SIP. His words: “I am not a lawyer, but I am reading SIP’s statement. I repeat I am reading a statement made by the SIP, I was tortured , I was badly subjected to torture that is unprintable, torture that included my father, younger brother and my immediate family. I was psychologically tortured. I want it to be on record my Lord that I said it is the SIP that said ‘making this statement was their visa to bring us to Lagos and not my visa to come to Lagos’. On how he met Sofolahan, he said: “Prior to the two-milliom-man-march, selected youth leaders from all the states of the country were brought to the Ministry of Youths and Sports in Abuja. The former CSO said he became concerned about the million-man-march because the event was to take place in Abuja and because of the proximity of Eagle Square (the venue of the event) to the presidency. He added that the entire three –arm zone was under the control of the CSO. Speaking on the statement he made to the SIP, Al-Mustapha said he made 28 statements and that none of the statements was done voluntarily and out of his own volition. “If I were to write it on my own, it would have contained a different thing entirely. For instance, Rabo Lawal was not in Nigeria when the incident happened. His clearance and permission was through me and was documented by the Police and the SSS. I am before a court of law and that is where my confidence lies. “I have never tasted beer in my life, I have never smoked and I have never taken drugs, so for one to say something is wrong with my memory that I cannot recall an officer who was in Libya and here I am writing that he is in Nigeria, that is absurd. It must be investigated, the whole game plan was that of the SIP directing the prosecution to convict us at all cost and coordinated by Chief Bola Ige , the then AGF. I have the document and we tendered it in 2002 before Justice Ade Alabi. The statement was later admitted as exhibit DI5 while the case was adjourned till August 15. |
I was wondering why fibroid and Cyst is ravaging our women in this present age. Why is it like that? And do forumite know of any solutions for either of these illness. |
Very well said, I admire some of our ideological opinions, but some individuals still doubt in their heart that it is not possible and can never be possible to combat these deadly virus of FRAUD and its effects in our society. My Solution. If this discussion is anything to go by and some of the several ways we have all suggested is anything to be considered. I think in my own opinion that we could start y putting up a memoradum signed by well meaning Nigerians (Forumite), that desires this change, with all the several ideas that could make it work, and push down to some of the corridors of power, say our local govt, international bodies that are saddled with such responsibilities, even our so call govt, even if they want to be adamant with it. I assure you that our voice can be heard and something would certainly be done. I am saying this because I really want us to begin to look for solution to issues rather than wallow in puniry or anguish that it can never be done. Who told you that? Are you trying to say that you didn't see solutions in all brilliant ideas? Lets all agree and we could start the process, even arrange to meet for the signing of the communique, after it has been prepared and agreed upon on this forum. Thanks and God bless Nigeria NB: Watch out!! The next issue would be about PHCN and its solution. Just to alert you, I work with PHCN, so when it comes your critism should be constructive, even if we would direct you on what you really need to know about govt deception in that sector. |
I have some files and applications that was running on my previous 32 bits Computer, before we upgraded, but cannot run on my 64 bits systems now. What advice would you profer or is there any modules that can do it and would not affect the speed of my Computer. I really need your assistance. |
Only late last year, precisely September, we applied for an Italian Visa, me and my wife, which happens to also be our very first time of applying for any Visa, which means our Passport was a virgin one, we were meant to use our leave to visit, but was delayed for over 7 months and we were still denied that same visa for some reasons that cannot hold waters. Even because of the weather situation, over there around that Christmas period, I really didn't feel disappointed, but hope to apply again |

I need your advice on these issues; 1. I want to setup a marketing outfit, where I can help industries, companies, sme's even foreign products that needed Nigerian presence sell their goods and services. 2. What area of marketing would you advice I concentrate on 3. How do I meet with my prospective customers, I mean the companies that would require such service 4. Would an Enterprise Company registration do the magic or I should rather go for a Limited Liability Company? 5. What tactics would be suited for you to establish your market area 6. What about pricing myself even if I have started, maybe from your advices, etc Note: |
what business or wisdom advice (idea) would you guys give to somebody that has One (1) Million Naira and looking for businesses or investments to involve in, Plz guys I wouldn't want guys who are over ambituos, because I am not. I would want some family kind of discussion, thanks |
Good to invest, but on what? Do you have any solid idea on investments and what type on investment to involve in? |
Just think of whatever brought you guys together in the first place, just whatever. In some cases what brings couples together are the following; (1). God, maybe after several prayers and fasting and seeking and favour, etc (2). Love, anything that God gives you, you cherish, etc. These are some few insight to keeping your marriage. Just make up your mind to keep it forever, no matter what you face, always learn to say sorry first b4 your spouse do it. Just remember that what God has giving you, you can afford to loss. |
