lightdotcom: Our corrupt and kangaroo system is our problems. Nigeria is not a lesser country. We have all the natural endowments here. If you talk Nigeria down in your sop for a mere visa it means you don't know the enomous wealth n potentials in this nation. Look what we need is good n credible govt in nigeria. God bless both countries
I just thought to say this on the floor of the house. So people can learn while drafting their SOPs.
I have noticed that people try to paint Nigeria as a lesser country than Canada, by stating that Nigeria has a poor standard of living and education, the country is this and that, bla, bla, bla.
Please even though we all know the state of things in Nigeria, it is not wise to state it in your SOP. It is fine to paint Canada as the best place to study and all the good stuff as a reason for your choice, but leave it at that. We all know that Nigeria has issues and the VOs know it. But don't let it come from you.
Most times we wonder why some of us are denied because of "Home tie", but it might be more than having assets or a family back in Nigeria, your perception about your country matters a lot. Westerners love PATRIOTISM to the core!
If I were a VO, and you tell me bad things about your country in your SOP, I will deny you based on home tie, even though you have assets and family, because as far as I am concerned, why will you want to come back to a country that you think is poor in everything??
My advice is, when stating the reasons for choosing Canada just stop at raining down praises on Canada's economy and standard of education. NEVER say ill about Nigeria.... You bam |

aspirebig: I think the story is not totally a lie. It is a guide for those willing to travel to the country. But from those videos on youtube which I believe was not uploaded by Op,there are elements of truth in his write up. Our people suffer alot in these foreign lands. Many are dead without their families knowing, they die out of frustration, betrayals, illegal deals like keyboard things, drug, rape issues, stealing, being in prison for having expired or illegal papers, running of cash etc.
Our government should just provide basic infrastructure like electricity, good roads, security and see how numbers of people travelling abroad will reduce. What is keyboard? |

00francis: OP make Malaysia no sue you oh...would have been nice for you to indemnify your self by saying some details are fictional.
Malaysia is like my second home after spend 5+ years there. And I believe I have seen it all.
Only issue I had with police was on a faithful morning when I drove out to an ATM near my condo in cheras without my passport, drivers license and the car I used had an expired road tax. I was pulled over close to my condo...the police about 7 searched my car and told me I was in trouble. I told them I had my passport at home and pointed to my condo and offered to call a friend to bring it for me and clear that I am legit. The officers declined and insisted I was going to be arrested. They finally asked me to bribe my way out which I obliged and I lived happily ever after.
I had all sorts of friends, locals, internationals, legal and illegal immigrants.
I have even reunited with some of my illegal friends that were deported...and your portrayed experience is a far cry from what is obtainable.
In summary if you have your money, you won't have problems there...maybe a few unorthodox measures here and there like carrying your passport around all the time, but quite frankly our brothers cast the place, too many niggas like OP trynna hustle caused that.
If you go for hustling, there is a 1% chance you'll make it in a legit way with no money...I had Nigerian classmates that are lecturers there now. The rest are keyboardists( if you know what I mean). Plz,what do you mean? |

If you want to pay, use www.amoma.com www.hotels.com and make sure
you schedule the ones that has 100% refund.
Try read the t&c very well before putting your card details.
If it's for the sake of hotel booking, then use hrs.com or accorhotels.com
