Family / Pastor Adeboye Reveals 4 Equations Of Marriage (NO. 3 Will Make Youlaugh) by ludamix(m): 1:29am On Feb 24, 2015 |
Marriage is not as easy as many think. It requires a lot of hard work and commitment to make it work. The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has established a link between mathematics and marriage. Adeboye, a mathematician turned pastor, gave couples a few tips to spice up their marriage. At the first annual lecture of the Pastor E.A. Adeboye Professorial Chair for mathematics, held on Thursday evening at the Main Auditorium of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), the cleric, who has been married for 47-years, told the audience about four simultaneous linear equations for successful marital life. According to the man of God, his understanding of the mathematics of marriage is what has kept his marriage strong. Not only did Adeboye give equations, he supported each equation with relevant biblical verses. “I told my children that why I have remained married for 47 years is because I understand the mathematics of marriage. Mathematics is a science of living,” he said. Equation 1: This states that love is blind. It was supported with a biblical passage from Proverbs 10:12, which states that love covers a multitude of sins. Equation 2: This states that “marriage is a miracle worker with special anointing for curing blindness.” This can be found in Genesis 29:16-25 which gives the account of how Jacob was so in love that he did not know it was Leah that was given to him in marriage, rather than Rachel, until the next day. When simultaneously calculated, he said the result shows that during courtship, love does not make shortcomings obvious until after marriage, when all doubts about character are cleared. Equation 3: This one states that “angels don’t eat jollof rice.” Adeboye made reference to Judges 6:11-21 where the sacrifice Gideon offered to the angel was consumed by fire. He explained that women eat jollof rice so they are not angels and are not perfect, just like men. Equation 4: states that angels don’t marry. This was supported by Matthew 22:30. He therefore advised couples to have reasonable expectations of their spouses and not expect them to be like angels. Enoch Adeboye obtained a Bachelors degree in Mathematics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria in 1967, a Masters degree in Hydrodynamics and a Doctorate degree in Applied Mathematics, both from the University of Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria in 1969 and 1975 respectively. He worked as a lecturer in mathematics at the universities of Lagos and Ilorin. He gave up his lecturing job for the work of God, after he was appointed General Overseer of the RCCG in 1981 |

And, yet, 13,000 lives were lost and 3 million people are displaced in Nigeria, Buhari claims. He also compares economic situation during Obasanjo’s and Jonathan’s ruling, providing the numbers of an average oil price, exchange rates and GDP growth. Average oil price: OBJ – $38, GEJ – $100 Exchange rate: OBJ – N115 = $1, GEJ – N200 = $1 |

Politics / PDP Full Of Insincere Leaders, Says Clark by ludamix(m): 8:29am On Feb 23, 2015 |
Foremost Ijaw Leader and a foremost supporter of President Goodluck Jonathan, Chief Edwin Clark, has accused some national leaders of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party of being insincere in their attitude towards the second time ambition of the President. He also accused them of following the President to his campaign rallies instead of going to their home states to also galvanise support for the President. Clark stated this in Abuja on Saturday while playing host to the PDP Aspirants Forum who paid him a courtesy visit. The visit was aimed at expressing their grievances over how the party treated them (PDP aspirants ) in the last primaries in various states. Clark said he was particularly sad with the way the PDP governorship primary was conducted in some states, especially in Adamawa State. He said, “Everybody was ready to hold the governorship primary in Yola. People were waiting in Yola for the primary and the PDP brought the primary to Abuja overnight, hired people from Nyanya and others. “Whereas they held the congresses in Yola, they later resorted to hire people to attend the primary here in Abuja. “There is injustice in the party. Some of the national leaders don’t want the party to succeed and they are disloyal to the President. “I have asked them to go to their states to campaign, but they refused. They are following the President everywhere. Some of them want the party to fail.” He begged the aggrieved aspirants not to leave the ruling party for the opposition, the All Progressives Congress, saying the party has nothing to offer Nigerians other than to enthrone a northern President. Members of the group hinged their grievances on the grounds that the party did not hold primary to pick any of its candidates, saying that all its flag bearers were handpicked by godfathers. The group, however, threatened to institute a court action to nullify the candidature of all the candidates of the party in the forthcoming general elections. Clark however pleaded with the aspirants, stating that the party would not forget their labour and that they should work together to achieve success for the party in the forthcoming polls. He added that when the party wins the election, all the efforts of the aspirants would be rewarded. The group had also threatened to work against the interest of the party in the forth-coming general elections if their grievances were not addressed. The aspirants said they were highly disappointed by the manner in which the party’s primary were handled across the country. The aspirants, who came together under the leadership of Chief Richard Lamai in Abuja, had also threatened that the resources they expended on campaigning and wooing delegates for the botched primaries must be refunded to them before the commencement of the elections, otherwise they would work against the PDP success at the elections. The forum comprised of aggrieved aspirants who lost out in the party’s primaries across the six geo-political zones of the country. Speaking at the forum’s emergency meeting in Abuja, Lamai said, “We are collectively aware that reconciliation and reintegration had not been effective in our party. The leadership of the party has carried on as if nothing happened and without due regard to aspirants who invested resources and time in building our party.” He added that the aggrieved aspirants did not lose out in the primaries due to their inability to mobilise and canvass for votes from delegates, but that the leadership of the party across the states had candidates already anointed for the PDP tickets. Lamai, however, attributed the challenges being faced by the PDP across the country to the “lack of internal democracy and political deceit in the party by the leadership.” Also speaking at the meeting, two aggrieved members from Kaduna and Rivers states noted that the monies spent on the procurement of nomination forms and mobilisation of delegates to the botched primaries must be refunded to them before the elections.[img]Foremost Ijaw Leader and a foremost supporter of President Goodluck Jonathan, Chief Edwin Clark, has accused some national leaders of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party of being insincere in their attitude towards the second time ambition of the President. Politics / We’ve Not Endorsed Any Candidate – Catholic Church by ludamix(m): 8:09am On Feb 23, 2015 |
The President of the Bishops Conference of Nigeria, Most Rev. Ignatius Kaigama, has said that contrary to insinuations, the church has not endorsed any presidential candidate or anybody seeking elective position at every level in the 2015 general elections. Kaigama, who is also the Catholic Archbishop of Jos, said that rather the church would continue to demand good governance and accountability from those holding public office. The bishop, who was represented by the Vicar General, Administration and Religious of the archdiocese, Monsignor Cletus Gotan, at the commencement of the 2015 Lenten Campaign at the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Jos on Sunday, said that every political office aspirant would receive the blessings of the church. He added that such blessing did not mean that such a candidate had received the endorsement of the church. The cleric expressed worry at the tension being generated by the 2015 elections as if there would never be any other election in the country and advised politicians to desist from campaigns of hate and division. He said that the theme of the Lenten campaign, “Enforcing the right to good governance,’ was conceived with the realisation that the ultimate goal of any person seeking any office should be for public good and that such a person should exhibit a high sense of service and responsibility in the discharge of the demands of such office. Kaigama said, “The heat generated by the present campaigns is as if there will be no 2019 and that politics will come and end in 2015. We should be careful and learn from countries that have been engulfed in one form of crisis or the other, especially of religious nature because such countries are yet to come over the trauma they went through.” While praising the efforts of the Justice, Development and Peace/Caritas Commission in organising the campaign, the second of its kind, the cleric lamented that Nigerians appeared to have lost all sense of humanity as they appeared to have abandoned the feelings of others and respect and sanctity of human lives. He cited the example of the recent massacre of about 2,000 people in Bagga, Borno State by the extremist group, Boko Haram, regretting that while Nigerians treated such a massacre as a non-issue, the whole world including the French staged a 3,000-man match just for 12 people killed by another extremist group in France. The archbishop urged all Christians, especially Catholics, to use the opportunity of the Lenten period for a sober reflection and a total turn around to God. |

Politics / I And My Team Underestimated Boko Haram – President Jonathan by ludamix(m): 11:12pm On Feb 22, 2015 |
In an interview with ThisDay, President Jonathan said he underestimated the strength of terror group Boko Haram when he assumed office as President but now believes that the leader of the sect will be arrested before the elections. He said bad press & poor Public relations has negatively affected his government as people, including himself and his cabinet members are not up to date with the achievements of his government. Read the interview after the cut… Quote “I think the thing that has brought this government down with both Nigerians and non-Nigerians, is the issue of Boko Haram. One thing is that terrorism is all over the world, but they believe that we did not handle it the way we were supposed to handle it. Probably at the beginning, we and I mean myself and the team, we underrated the capacity of the Boko Haram. Capacity not in terms of what they have in Nigeria, but their international linkages, we underrated that and thought that we were dealing with some local elements that we could overrun. Many of the security chiefs had made statements that later on you people took them up on. That shows they underestimated their capacity. We’ve now realised that the handshake had gone above the elbow and so we have to move fully and that’s why we are running round to get the right military equipments we need. Somehow we could not get them early enough, and now it has moved too close to the election. But with what is happening now, in the next two weeks, that is three weeks into the six weeks, God willing, Nigerians will be happy with what the military has done in the North-east. On whether there is anything I would have done differently, yes. I think one thing about the government is that we have done quite a number of things. At times many of us in the government don’t even know what we have done. People tell us. I remember in the beginning of this campaign, if I wanted to visit a state, I will ask those in my office to list out some of our projects in some of these states so that we can tell them what we’ve done. Sometimes when I go to the states, people from the host governments will give me a longer list than the ones prepared for me in my office. That means that even some of us in the government don’t even know all of what we have done to impact positively on Nigeria. Probably we did not put attention and resources on media and public relations. Public relations is a major thing and that is why companies have departments for this. No matter what you do, you must have a team that would manage your image. Shell doesn’t need anybody to advertise their crude oil, they’ve sold it already, but they still have image makers. I think we downplayed the issue of image for the government, and of course making our achievements known. Also probably the issue of corruption, because these are the two areas people tackle us – corruption and security. For security, God willing, that will soon be a thing of the past. The next thing is the issue of corruption, and I used to tell people: if I don’t want to fight corruption, I wouldn’t have brought in (Ibrahim) Lamorde as chairman of the EFCC. I came on board as the vice-president of Yar’Adua, (Nuhu) Ribadu, you all know the story, was removed. Lamorde was Ribadu’s second in command, he was the Director of Operations, and was removed from the EFCC back to the police. Farida was appointed and she was trying her best, because she used to brief me from time to time. We had to drop her because of reports from both within this country and outside. And given that Ribadu was Lamorde were well- trained by the west, they argued that if I bring Lamorde back that EFCC would improve. If I am someone that don’t want to fight corruption I would not have listened and brought back Lamorde because he once investigated me. My in-law was detained here in Abuja for weeks. But I sent for him and told him that Nigerians and non- Nigerians believed in him, so we would bring him to help EFCC, because he was the backbone of Ribadu. So we asked him to come and be the head of the agency. But people often say that my body movement encourages corruption which is not true. Lamorde told me about their limitations, being in court and the court compromising. I then came up with some innovations again. Though constitutionally, the three arms of government are not supposed to meet; there is no platform for the three to meet, even though the executive and parliament do meet because we are all politicians, but I said look we must, for the image of the country, come together. I then called for a special meeting with myself, the vice-president, then the head of corruption agencies, EFCC, ICPC and the Senate president and his deputy, then the speaker and his deputy. Then for the judiciary, all the judges of the federation, the president of the court of appeal, the chief judge of the federal high court and (from) each of the zones, we nominated a state chief judge each. I told them that the executive, legislature and judiciary must work together in the interest of the country to fight corruption. I called the meeting because of the issue of court delay, and we discussed and everybody showed concern. But the judiciary operates like a university setting where every lecturer behaves like he is 100 per cent academic freedom .Every judge has some level of autonomy, and if they don’t operate that way there will be issues. So there is a limit that even the chief judge of the federation can control a judge. The only thing is that if they misbehave they will be punished under their guide book, but other than that, the judge can decide to ignore any decision. We had several meetings, and it was in one of those meetings that the question came up about the difference between corruption and stealing based on the laws. We are doing our best to see that corruption is reduced. You can see that in the payroll system, we have eliminated corruption and theft including the agric sector. One major area that we will go into is the oil sector. So we are going to sanitise all the sectors, but I always believe that fighting corruption is not just about first arresting people and celebrating the arrest on television. We have to investigate and prosecute before publicity” he said. 3 Likes |

Politics / Open Letter To President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan by ludamix(m): 11:13pm On Feb 20, 2015 |
Editors Note: Assistant Professor of Criminology at the University of Alberta; Canada, Tope Oriola, in this open letter to President Goodluck Jonathan, cautions the president not to tow the line of African despots who hardly relinquish power. Article Highlights: - As an underdog in the political terrain, you were a stranger to power - I presume that you and those around you can sense the mood of the times - Campaign with all your heart but be ready to accept defeat. (Sahara Reporters) – Let me begin by stating that I approach your person and presidency from a sympathetic perspective. My unsolicited support is predicated on the fact that you are from the Niger Delta, a region that has given so much yet received little from our country and perhaps because you have always struck me as a humble exemplar of the rags to prominence fable. As an underdog in the political terrain, you were a stranger to power: You were not from a political family; you were neither from the military nor business class. You were from the periphery of the academia. I have occasionally been embarrassed by how you were treated by some critics. I have had occasion to be upset at how some journalists treated you in some of the interviews you granted. Like many Nigerians, I wanted you to succeed as your success was directly correlated with our success as a society. Therefore, this letter is not full of vitriol. Rather, it contains a sober and non-partisan assessment of your options at this defining moment. Societies do not often go through this kind of moment. I presume that you and those around you can sense the mood of the times. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo saw a glimpse of the quality of this moment during the third term debacle. General Ibrahim Babangida who famously “stepped aside” may speak to the character of this moment. But by a wide margin, General Sani Abacha’s era could provide clearer lessons. You are on the cusp of history. You are, as history may record, in a world-historical crucible at this moment. Nobody feels it better than you. Nobody in Nigeria bears greater responsibility. Our country’s survival is in your hands. Your Excellency, you are a product of the Nigerian system. No one needs to remind you about your meteoric emergence on the national stage. You were favoured above several individuals who by your own confession were better qualified and had more experience. Nonetheless, you emerged as a relatively young state executive; part of the new generation of leaders without the baggage and blood-stained hands of military coups. And of course, your being from the Niger Delta was music to the ears of many of us. We were ecstatic; you could do no wrong in our eyes! However, the major power brokers that made you no longer want you. Anecdotal evidence also strongly suggests that many of the people no longer want you. Nigeria as you admitted to US ambassador, Robin Sanders, during the succession debacle, is too complex for a simple man like you. I am afraid, Mr. President, that Nigeria needs someone with qualities that you do not possess. It is not for lack of effort on your part. There are too many wolves in Nigeria. They are not wolves in sheep’s clothing; they are shameless wolves. You never stood a chance, Mr. President. Nigeria needs a complex thinker who can call to order errant old men in the self-serving elite; someone they either respect or fear. The ongoing political crisis is turning into heroes some who should be in prison for corruption, human rights violation or both. Our country is hemorrhaging. When those whose livelihood depends on not telling you the truth leave the room and you are all alone, speak to your Creator and do the right thing for the long-suffering Nigerian people. You must be ready for the probability that you may lose the presidential election. That may well be good for the country and yourself. It is time for you to stay true to your belief in the Scriptures: All power belongs to God and he gives it to whomever he wills. I am not particularly thrilled that someone who was military Head of State when I was barely out of diapers may succeed you in office but that may well be the beauty of democracy. Do not impede the voice of the people. History may yet be kind to you if you conduct free and fair elections. You are unlikely to win the Mo Ibrahim or Nobel Prize but you will earn significant respect for peaceful transfer of power and begin a dignified life in retirement. You may even become a power broker although I view you as too humble to want that role. Your Excellency, your primary aim must now be a higher purpose than winning an election. Allow Professor Attahiru Jega to do his job. You cannot replace the umpire at the last minute. The optics are bad. Meet with the Inspector General of Police and military chiefs and let them know that your political ambitions are secondary to the well-being of our country. Stop your supporters from fanning the embers of religious bigotry. Provide the needed resources and leadership to tackle Nigeria’s many security problems. Allow the notion of an interim national government to remain what it is — a mere rumour. Please, address the Nigerian people and tell fellow Nigerians you are speaking to them as their leader and not a candidate for election. Tell them to vote for whomsoever they please and that you will ensure there is no electoral rigging. It is your right to stand for office but ensure you act ethically and legally. Campaign with all your heart but be ready to accept defeat. I do not think that your luck has ran out. I think your luck has now called you to rise beyond the self. Your name is Goodluck . There may yet be more luck in store for you but clinging on to power is not in your fortunes. You will be stunned at how history will remember you if you organize free and fair elections. Do not take Nigeria towards the road to Rwanda. I wish you well. 2 Likes |
Health / What Ladies Don't Know About Postinor 2 by ludamix(m): 9:51pm On Feb 20, 2015 |
Postinor 2 is a medication to prevent pregnancy if you shine the sperm into the ovary, whether intentional or not. It can prevent pregnancy 95% in the first 24 hours after intercourse, it is used as a form of emergency contraception (more commonly known as a morning after pill). Postinor-2 is formulated to function in a manner similar to the female hormone progesterone allowing for prevention of pregnancy if taken within a reasonable period of time. Generally, it is recommended that Postinor-2 be taken no later than three days after having unprotected sex. EFFECTS OF POSTINOR 2 1. When taken in the middle of the menstrual cycle, the preparation may inhibit ovulation. 2. The pill can cause changes in the menstrual cycle in the lady. Your next period could start earlier or later than expected and flow can be lighter or heavier than normal. 3. It can cause nauseating feeling which occurs in approximately 25% of users vomiting 4. It can also bring about bleeding disturbances in some cases, 2-3 days following tablet ingestion 5. Sometimes it can cause breast tenderness, headache, dizziness, fatigue. 6. In the majority of cases the next period starts as expected or somewhat earlier, if the period is more than 7 days late it is recommended to perform a pregnancy test. 7. In case of prolonged or heavy bleeding, gynaecological examinations is advised. 8. If the user has a reported case of asthma, heart failure, hypertension, migraine, epilepsy, renal impairment, diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidaemia, depression, and / or stroke, the preparation may be used exclusively in the above mentioned emergency cases. it is not appropriate for regular use. The manufacturer of the emergency contraceptive offers the efficiency of the pill when it is taken as directed. Logically, the longer the interval between unprotected sex and taking the pill, the decrease in how effective it will be. It is estimated that Postinor-2 will prevent 85% of expected pregnancies. 95% of expected pregnancies will be prevented if taken within the first 24 hours. So I employ every guy to always walk around with postinor2 because you never know when you will have a match because you don’t want to receive that “We need to Talk” text after 7 weeks. 1 Like
