Crime / Two Bomb Blasts Rock Maiduguri by ludamix(m): 8:16am On Mar 15, 2015
Two bomb blasts were heard in Maiduguri, Borno state, in the evening of March 14, Saturday.

Linda Ikeji, famous Nigerian blogger, informs that the explosions rocked Yerwa Government secondary school which hosts the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from Bama.

More details are yet to be obtained. However, sources provide that many people are feared dead.

The Nigerian officials keep silent on the issue. Neither is any information available on the official social media pages and the website of the Nigerian Defence Headquarters.

UPDATE

Vanguard informs that the incident occurred at about 6:15pm shaking many houses and structures around Maduganari ward, Ramat Polytechnic institute and other nearby communities.

While some sources say that the explosion took place at Yerwa school, the others provide that it happened at Arabic Teacher’s College. Still, both schools share the same fence and are used as camps for the displaced people.

One of the sources said that “the explosions were safely detonated by security operatives at Yewa Secondary School located at the heart of the city after discovering that it was planted by insurgents to cause havoc in the camps”.
Politics / Critical Reasons Why Nigerians Will Vote Buhari Ahead Of Jonathan by ludamix(m): 7:19pm On Mar 13, 2015
Here is a lists a number of reasons why the APC’s presidential candidate Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) has gained popularity and trust among Nigerians.
As the March 28th presidential election draws closer, political analysts and admirers of the ruling party are amazed and wondering about the increasing popularity and general acceptance of the APC presidential candidate General Muhamodu Buhari. Despite the hate speeches, defamatory advertisements, negative documentaries that have appeared via media houses, newpapers and social networks, the General’s popularity ratings are growing.
The PDP has accused some of its chieftains and top leaders of not doing enough to “sell” President Goodluck Jonathan to the masses. The last-minute moves, which apparently include doling out money to individuals, groups and associations just to buy support for Jonathan’s re-election bid, seem not to be yielding the required results. Moreover, the aforementioned technique is doing more harm than good in most of the states.
In Delta state, for instance, chieftains and aides of the governor have allegedly made away with huge sums of money meant to buy votes to lobby Jonathan’s re-election. Such stories has furthered chaos and division within the PDP camp, which led to more supporters of the PDP decamping and pledging their allegiance to the APC.
I don’t think a president would feel the need to share money to buy votes had he really lived up to the expectations.
Many wonder why General Buhari’s popularity is soaring even though it’s his fourth attempt to win the presidential seat. Some have adduced this to the fact that the APC is a “mega party”, comprising the former ACN, CPC, ANPP and a faction of the APGA. Some have said it’s all a grand conspiracy between the North and the Southwest to wrestle power from the “Otueke man”. Others have cited the fallout of the President with some Northern and Southwestern leaders, and the crisis which led to the exit governors and party chieftains from the PDP as the reasons for Nigerians’ acceptance and support of Buhari.
But I think the main point is that Nigerians have lost confidence in the present administration.
True: many APC and Buhari’s supporters and admirers don’t see the latter as the “messiah” who would, upon becoming president, use magical powers to turn things around over night. But Nigerians are tired of the way things are being run in the country. They are eager to replace the government boasting to have created, in the last six years, only about 1.8m jobs in a country with over 40m unemployed youths. They are eager to change the government that has not been able to provide security. They are tired of paying for electricity bills they never get to use or enjoy. Nigerians are tired of the government whose achievements only appear on the pages of newspapers and are not real. They are eager to change the government that has not shown any resolve to fight corruption. Even if General Buhari is not able to fix all these problems overnight, Nigerians just want this government that has virtually nothing to show to be gone. Nigerians need a new beginning and “fresh air”. This is what the PDP still don’t get:give Nigerians anyone but Goodluck Jonathan. That's a no no

Politics / Re: Treasury Emptied; President GEJ Re-election Campaign Funds Exposed by ludamix(m): 11:54am On Mar 13, 2015

Why not confirm the information before conclusion. Are we not seeing the evidence e.g the president sharing dollars. Can you tell me they are his hard earned money? or because they have access to the treasury major them spend it any how?
Have you for once ask yourself the real cause of fuel scarcity in most part of the country? OPEN YOUR EYES TO REALITY
Politics / Treasury Emptied; President GEJ Re-election Campaign Funds Exposed by ludamix(m): 10:43am On Mar 13, 2015
A disaffected insider within President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration as
well as several banking executives have told SaharaReporters that Nigeria faces
a deep economic crisis and massive social gloom after the 2015 general
elections. Speaking from different perspectives, the sources said President
Jonathan had virtually vacuumed the Nigerian treasury to serve his re-election
campaign, leaving Nigerian banks in dire straits and many states on the verge
of failing to pay salaries this month.
“The truth is that Mr. President has almost emptied the treasury, and some of
us close to him are even beginning to get worried about what will happen after
the election,” said the political insider.
The bankers echoed the sentiment. “The reason the naira has taken such a
dramatic plunge over the last three or so months is that politicians moped up
the hard currency for elections,” said one banker. “I have never seen anything
on this scale, where politicians snatch up every hard currency in sight, whether
dollar, Euro or pound sterling,” he added. Asked who was primarily responsible
for the situation, the banker said he would not engage in partisanship. “All I
know is that this country is now in a frightening economic position—and all
these politicians running up and down to retain or take power have created the
situation,” he asserted.
But another banker was not shy in pointing a finger at Mr. Jonathan. “The
president has been indifferent to the economic crisis caused by the ongoing
campaigns. And the reason he is indifferent is that he is the major culprit,” said
the executive. He added that the distribution of largesse by Mr. Jonathan had
now become “one of the few lucrative businesses in Nigeria.”
The bankers said massive layoffs were inevitable in the banking and other
sectors of the Nigerian economy. They said numerous companies that depended
on imported machinery or other components sourced from abroad were bleeding
cash. “Many Nigerian companies are experiencing severe cash flow problems.
Many of them are defaulting on long and short-term loan repayments. So the
banks are suffering heavily as well,” one banker told SaharaReporters.
Two of the bankers disclosed that the banking industry would have laid off
thousands of workers, but that officials of the Jonathan administration
pressured them to wait until after the elections. “It will take a long time before
banks recover from the current shocks in the system. There’s no bank strong
enough not to retrench staff,” one said.
The stress in the banking sector, with the prospective job losses, will be
compounded by massive retrenchment in the civil service at the Federal and
state levels, one source predicted. Our source inside the Presidency revealed
that Mr. Jonathan plans to follow former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s style
by removing fuel subsidies as one of his first economic acts. “The truth is that
it’s a must that fuel subsidy has to go because the money is not there to
continue [paying for] them,” he said.
As part of an arrangement to receive slush funds from oil marketers, Mr.
Jonathan and Ms. Alison-Madueke allowed numerous marketers to make
fraudulent claims and get paid for importation they never made. That criminal
collusion has put Nigeria in a situation where the oil marketers are being owed
N450 billion. “Nigeria will have to deal with this and other debts from
fraudulently inflated invoices once the elections are over,” one banker said.
The scam also helped create a recent fuel scarcity in the country. As the fuel
situation threatened to become a politically costly crisis, Mr. Jonathan asked
the oil marketers to offload fuel they had been “round-tripping” in order to
collect unearned subsidy payments.
Bankers agreed that the government would find it extremely difficult to pay that
debt after the election without rolling back or eliminating subsidies altogether.
In recent months, oil marketers as well as operators of the privatized power
sector received massive financial handouts from the Jonathan administration. In
turn, they donated billions of naira to Mr. Jonathan’s re-election campaign.
President Jonathan has gone on a dollar-spraying spree since the general
elections were postponed by six weeks. Our sources disclosed that the
president had doled out more than $200 million, using generous cash gifts to
entice various traditional rulers, politicians and activists, especially those in the
southwest and parts of the north, to endorse him.
Several sources said much of the president’s campaign cash is from shady oil
deals brokered by Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke. The massive
theft of Nigeria’s crude oil remains an open scandal, and one of the richest
sources of funds for the campaigns. Last September, Al Jazeera reported that
the theft of Nigeria’s crude oil was at its highest rate in years, adding that
several hundred thousand barrels of crude are stolen each day.
The continuing crisis of crude oil thefts has persisted despite the Jonathan
administration’s security contract to Global West Specialist Agency, a company
owned by Government Ekpemukpolo (popularly called Tompolo). The contract to
Mr. Tompolo’s company was for the supply of 20 patrol vessels to enable
Nigeria’s military authorities to better secure the coastline and stem oil theft.
Mr. Tompolo’s firm was also engaged as a consultant to prevent crude oil
heists.
The rating firm of Standard & Poors yesterday said that the Nigerian economy
faced a clear and present danger. Nigeria’s external reserves have been
significantly depleted in the past year, said a banker, adding that many state
governments were already looking for loans to pay workers’ salaries.

Politics / US Blast: Nigerian Military Chiefs Leaked Chibok Operation Details To Boko Haram by ludamix(m): 7:12pm On Mar 03, 2015
According to recently provided inside information from the US, Nigerian
military commanders leaked plans to rescue the abducted Chibok girls to
Boko Haram terrorists.
According to Nigerian Watch, this was disclosed by US intelligence sources.
The shocking tip-off that you can find below resulted in the failure of the
operation.
After the April 14, 2014, abduction of nearly 300 girls in Borno, the American’s
sent spy planes to Nigeria to help locate the victims, as agreed with the
Nigerian military.
The US reportedly quickly located the girls and suggested gassing the areas in
the Sambisa Forest to paralyse the terrorists. Thus they could rescue the girls.
The highly confidential plan was shared with Nigeria’s chiefs.
However, the mission was leaked to the captors, and the terrorists managed
to take preventative action, say two US army generals.
The fighters apparently received details about the military plan to use gas, as
they were seen wearing gas masks when the rescue operation was launched.
After the incident Washington expressed disappointment with the Nigerian side
and announced that it will no longer share information with Nigeria.
The US generals accused their Nigerian colleagues of treason, adding that the
war against Boko Haram was purposefully sabotaged by the Nigerian
government.
They believe that if it had not been, the insurgents could have been defeated
within a one-month period.
According to the sources, the situation with the Chibok mission became one of
the main reasons why the US military later refused to further cooperate with
Goodluck Jonathan’s government.
Moreover, it influenced the military trade between the two countries because
America feared that their weaponry would end up in the hands of the sect.
Politics / House Of Reps Members Decide On Jega's Removal by ludamix(m): 7:00pm On Mar 03, 2015
Following reports that the presidency is planning to remove the chairman of
the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof Attahiru Jega
before the general election scheduled to hold on March 28, the House of
Representatives has passed a resolution on the purported move.
According to a motion sponsored by Rep Ali Ahmed (APC, Kwara), the
lawmakers said any action by the federal government or any other agency to
tamper with the present status quo of the conduct of the election would spell
doom for the country.
Daily Trust reports online that members of the House agreed that any
individual or association who moved for the removal of the INEC chairman
ahead of the polls should be held accountable, as that would create chaos in
the land.
It was gathered that the motion scaled through despite opposition from the
deputy House Leader, Rep Leo Ogor.
A source informed that Ogor stated that the motion was speculative and that
nobody is under any illusion of seeing Jega removed at this time.
Meanwhile, investigations had revealed that the reasons why President
Jonathan and the entire Peoples Democratic party are angry with the
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) boss, Attahiru Jega was
over his insistence that the commission would use the Permanent Voter Cards
for the election.
Also, a source within the presidency, who did not want to be named, on
Tuesday disclosed to YNaija that the presidency is planning on removing the
INEC chairman this week.
The source further revealed that after a long search, the INEC National
Commissioner, Amina Bala Zakari, has finally been chosen to replace Prof.
Jega.
The information is coming despite assurances from President Goodluck
Jonathan during February 11 presidential media chat that he had no intention
of removing Jega from office.
A report had surfaced on Monday that there were plans to remove Jega with
vote of no confidence by the Resident Electoral Commissioners.

Politics / Breaking: Ekiti Governor Ayo Fayose Missing by ludamix(m): 11:55pm On Feb 26, 2015
The governor of Ekiti state, Mr Ayo Fayose has been reportedly missing in public.
The controversial governor has not been seen in either governmental gatherings or public gatherings. Meanwhile, his deputy has been the one attending to the public on his behalf which is unusual of him because the governor does all the administrative work himself.
According to concerned citizens of the state, the governor was lat seen on a recorded tape on EKTV three days ago commissioning a pothole being patched by his administration and his self acclaimed baby; fayose market.
Information from an undisclosed source confirm that the governor is not in the state and news of the governor travelling to the UK may be true.
The embattled governor has always questioned the health condition and eligibility of the presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress Rtd. Gen Muhammad Buhari and was believed to travel to the UK to confirm his latest story about the candidate being admitted into a London hospital.

made few outlets dispensing the commodity to be besieged by motorists ,
motorcyclists and other consumers .

vehicles parked to buy the commodity.
Many of the consumers who spoke with our reporter lamented that the
situation has affected their businesses .
An oil magnate , Alhaji Sulaimon Akinbami , said the development was
caused by an increase in the price of fuel from the depot .

Politics / Electoral Violence: APC To Submit 150 ‘sins’ Of PDP To UN, Amnestyinternational by ludamix(m): 8:25am On Feb 26, 2015
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has said it would submit
150 ‘sins’ of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state on electoral
violence to the United Nations (UN), Amnesty International, Economic
Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and other major international
bodies.
The threat came just as the leader of the defunct militant group, Niger Delta
Vigilante, Chief Ateke Tom, declared that no political party would be allowed to
hold any political rally in Okrika before the general election.
Chairman of the APC, Dr. Davies Ikanya, made the disclosure while receiving the
report of a committee set up by the party to investigate the increasing cases of
electoral violence against the party in the state.
He expressed sadness that security agencies in the state have failed to take
appropriate actions to arrest people who engage in violence in the state.
He assured the committee members that the aim of setting up the committee
would be actualised as the report would be sent to the United Nations,
Amnesty International, ECOWAS and other major international bodies without
delay.
“I commend the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, for directing that
the Okrika attempt on our lives should be investigated. We wish that those
behind this devilish attack are promptly arrested; if not, our lives will not be
safe anymore,” Ikanya said.
Looking ahead to the elections, the party chairman said: “To the people of
Rivers State, the choice of stopping further promotion of violence lies in their
hands by ensuring that all the candidates fielded by the PDP in Rivers State are
voted against to punish them for making our state a joke before the
international community.
“The choice before them is to choose between darkness and light, devil and
God, between occult forces and Christianity, between democracy and anti-
democracy forces. The choice is ours to make.”
Ikanya appealed to the international community to come to the party’s aid,
saying: “We can no longer fold our arms and watch while we are being viciously
attacked and slaughtered by people whose mission and vision in politics is to
spread violence as their own way of grabbing power, having seen that they have
been overwhelmingly rejected by the electorate.
“What makes the situation more pathetic is that security agencies in Rivers
State, including the police and the Department of State Security (DSS), have
failed to make any arrest or call the PDP leadership to order simply because
they are controlled by the PDP-led federal government, which is desperate to
take over Rivers State at all cost.”
Earlier, while submitting the report, Chairman of the committee, Prince Peter
Odika, said it was able to list 150 sins committed against the APC by the PDP
leadership and members in the course of the on-going campaign for the 2015
elections.
“These sins revolve around attacks against APC faithful, billboards, and LG
Secretariat by the misguided PDP elements in Rivers State ahead of the March/
April 2015 general election,” Odika, who is also the state deputy chairman of
APC, said.
Meanwhile, the leader of the defunct Niger Delta Vigilante, Chief Ateke Tom,
said his stance not to welcome political campaigns in Okirika henceforth was in
line with the unanimous decision of stakeholders, which was taken to preserve
peace, law and order in the Wakirike nation.
The decision of the stakeholders has put a hold on plans by the All Progressives
Congress (APC) to go back to Okrika to hold another rally after its last attempt
was disrupted by explosions and gunfire.
Addressing journalists a few days after the botched Okrika rally, Chairman of
the APC in Rivers state, Dr. Davies Ikanya, had said, “We will still go back to
Okrika for our governorship campaign rally. Okrika is part of Rivers State and
we want to take the message of our party to our people there.”
Ateke, who spoke on Tuesday at the end of a town hall meeting of stakeholders
in
Okrika, said: “The people of Okrika have spoken and I am in support of the
position that they have taken. My people have spoken: no more political rallies
in Okrika. I am in support of their decision. Who am I to say no? You want
them to kill me? When the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held their rally there
was no problem. But there was violence when the All Progressives Congress
(APC) staged their rally in Okrika, there was violence and people were injured
and property destroyed. A policeman, we were told, was unfortunately killed.
“So, PDP and APC, there will be no more rallies in Okrika. We don’t want
violence in Okrika anymore,” he said, stating that the people of Okrika wished to
preserve the existing peace in the area and would not want political parties to
foist violence on the people.
“We don’t want any violence in Okrika. We no longer want any trouble in Okrika.
My advice to the youths is to resist the temptation of being lured by politicians
to perpetrate violence. Politicians are like that they will use you and dump you.
Any youth that allows himself to be used for violence in Okrika is on his own. I
am warning our youths to stay out of violence because at the end of the day
nobody will be there for them,” he said.
However, addressing journalists after a stakeholders meeting with the Assistant
Inspector General of Police (AIG), Zone 6, Tunde Ogunsakin, at the Police
Officers Mess, in Port Harcourt, Amange said, “The APC is not planning to hold
another rally in Okrika. We have just come out of a meeting with the AIG Zone
6. The APC will not hold another rally in Okrika until we are sure that the
atmosphere is conducive for the party to stage another rally.
“The APC will not hold any rally in Okrika until all the parties to the peace
accord facilitated by the AIG zone 6, on Wednesday, February 4, agree that the
atmosphere is safe for the APC to hold another rally.”
He stated that the APC would abide by the tenets of the accord brokered by the
AIG and urged the people to be prepared to cast their voted during the
elections.

Abigail and Brittany Hensel are conjoined twins from Minnesota. Being conjoined, they have had many struggles throughout their lives.
Soon after they were born, doctors gave their parents the bad news; the twins would not survive very long. The girls are now 25 years old and are featured in a show, titled: Abby and Brittany, which will show viewers how their every days lives are.
These girls are one of the rarest set of dicephalus twins in the world!
It is very rare to be born conjoined (1 in 40,000) and it is even more rare to survive after birth (1% of the 1 in 40,000)! The fact that Abby and Brittany are alive and well is a miracle.
Abby and Brittany came to be when a fertilized egg failed to separate inside th womb.
They have two hearts, two spines joined at the pelvis, four lungs, two esophagi, three kidneys, one ribcage, one liver, a partially shared nervous system and a shared circulatory system. From their waist down, all organs are shared including the reproductive system, intestines and bladder.
Abby, the right twin can’t feel anything on the left side of body while Brittany, the left twin can’t feel anything on her right side.
Despite the fact that the twins can only feel their half of the body they share, they still are able to type, play piano, bowl, play volleyball, ride a bicycle, play softball, and swim, etc.
They were actually born with three arms, one arm was removed surgically at the time of birth. During their life, they have been operated on several times, but the twins have remained in good health.
The twins have been in the media several times in their lives. At the age of six, they appeared in Oprah Winfrey show and on the cover of Life magazine. They stayed out of the media for 10 years, and then when they were 16 the girls were filmed for a TLC documentary. If features them passing their driver’s test; each twin controls the steering wheel with one arm. Their mother wondered which twin would get the speeding ticket if they were ever pulled over.
The girls have to cordinate everything together and they don’t always have the urge to eat or sleep at the same time either.
Their parents have encouraged the twins to develop individual personalities. They have exposed the twins to the media, but have purposely kept it limited for the sake of the girls and their other 2 children.
Although the two girls are individuals and they have the urge to sleep and eat at different times, they still coordinate among themselves to work as a single body.
Clothes have to be made special order for the twins because they have 2 necklines. In order to show their own styling and tastes, the girls have leggings made with different colors on each leg. They wear different shoes on each foot for the same reasoning as well.
Abby and Brittany have always been treated as two separate identities. They even buy 2 movie tickets when they go to the theater.
Their parents never thought of getting the twins separated. One of them might die or get physically handicapped for the rest of her life, so it just really wasn’t an option for them. The girls were always treated as two separate individuals. Patty (Abby and Brittany’s mother) said “when children ask the girls if they have two heads, they say they don’t, but that each has their own head. That’s what we have encouraged them to do, to develop their own individuality as much as possible.” They buy two separate cinema tickets, separate meals and two different birthday cakes for them. When the girls were younger, they made sure to scold the right girl and
not just scold them as one person. Since the girls are two separate people, one twin can get sick while the other stays healthy.
Abby and Brittany rarely fight. They eat on separate plates, with one twin holding the knife and the other holding the fork. The have to take turns eating. They alternate bite by bite, with each girl helping to feed the other. One twin will even scratch an itch for the other if the other twin’s hand doesn’t react fast enough.
One can get an illness, while the other twin stays healthy. For instance, Brittany has suffered from pneumonia twice and Abigail, the stubborn one, always helped Brittany in tough times.
The twins have only once wished to separate from each other and that was when Brittany suffered for pneumonia for the first time in childhood. Abby got bored of being in the bed all the time, when Brittany was ill. She said that she needed the
separation. Brittany would start crying and then Abby promised her they would never part.
Now that the twis are full grown women, some questions have arose: What happens if one twin falls in love?
Will they ever have children or wed?
Three years ago there was a rumor, in the news, about Brittany being engaged. Those were just rumors, but they made people think about their future. Now that the twins are full grown women, some questions have arose. They love each other very much, but what would happen if one fell in love, or even worse, one fell in love with someone the other twin hated? Since they share one reproductive system, will they ever have children? Their father, Mike believes that his daughters will get married someday.
Female conjoined twins have a much higher rate of live birth and survival than male twins. Approximately 70 percent of all conjoined twins are girls.[img]Abigail and Brittany Hensel are conjoined twins from Minnesota.
I Think he is exceeding his boundaries?

What has Gen. Buhari done to him?

Are you still asking?
Don't you know Fayose has committed a lot of atrocities being covered under the umbrella of PDP and only the general can make him land in kirikiri maximum prison. E.g Election digging, Beating a judge into a pulp (to mention few)

I smell foul play. GEJ is very sure because they've rehearsed everything from the point of assuring Nigerians that he will be captured before election to when shekau will confess that Buhari is their sponsor. We are watching with eagle's eyes
