einsteino: please those who used Treasury Bills as POF, did you also have to submit SOA/a letter from your bank showing average balance? Or is the Treasury bills alone sufficient in the case where a gift deed accompanies it?
cc santino1, kontagious ... anybody biko Yes you have to include all documentation (SOA, Gift deed etc.) so far as the amount has been with you for less than 6 months |

Can someone please help answer this question? Thanks lumzy1: Good day all, my sister has a BSc degree from Nigeria and IATA Diploma in Foundation in Travel and Tourism (Distance Learning) awarded by IATA Training and Development Institute in Montreal. I will like to ask if these two can be classified as "Two or more cerificates, diploma or degree". And since the diploma was awarded by a Canadian body is there a need to do an ECA for it? Thanks |

salford1: i had deficiencies of 4 courses, so i was given option to take courses and exams from a list of schools. i was then assigned FE exam.
If you dont have deficiencies, and you have 4 years of work experience...your applications can be approved straight away, then you become an EIT...
if you have at least four years of engineering work experience, including one year of engineering work experience gained in Canada under the supervision of a PEng/PGeo...then you become a PEng/PGeo too.
Unfortunately, i dont know any geo around me. i work in the Electrical Industry (Utility). The two Geo i know. One returned to Nigeria to continue his employment (mobil), and the other moved to materials testing (Soil, concrete, asphalt -Civil), but I have come across profiles of Nigerian P.geologist on LinkedIn. Dont limit your networkimg to Nigerians alone.
1. If you have many years of documented work experience, all you would need to sit for is the law and ethics exam plus one year supervised training.
2. Yes..the 4 years count. But you still need one year Canadian experience without which you wont get the PGeo. This is the stage you need to network massively with people in your field, especially those working for smaller engineering or consulting firms since they have less bureaucracy in their recruitment process. Thanks Salford1. I have over four years as a Geologist in the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry with B.Sc. in Geology and M.Sc. in Applied Geophysics. I guess due to my lack of Canadian experience I am not eligible to apply straight for PGeo. Notwithstanding can I apply for Geoscientist-in-Training (G.I.T.) while im still in Nigeria? |

I plan to settle in Alberta or Ontario and my occupation is Petroleum Geologist. Since functioning as a Geologist requires getting registered as a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.), I want to ask what is the possibility of registering with Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) from Nigeria. And also between Ontario and Alberta which has a better prospect for a Petroleum Geologist in terms of job availability. |

I want to ask if it is advisable to include my Part-time Msc (i am not claiming point the Msc) under Post-ITA education and personal information as ive been on it for the past five years (Unilag wahala). Hope it wouldn't raise any flag? I'm concerned the omission might be regarded as misinterpretation. |

lumzy1: Hello Peeps, Finally got my IELTS EOR yesterday after over 12 weeks, my result was upgraded from LRWS 87.576.5 to 87.577. I updated my express entry profile, but I didn't see any improvement with my score, is this normal? Also, are we to notarize all the scanned documents to be uploaded when submitting ITA. Please, can i get a clarification on notarizing documents. Thanks |

@dammysanmi, I did not get any mail, I called them to confirm if the EOR has been completed. It was after I got a confirmation that it was ready, that's when I went to their office. dammysanmi: Hi @lumzy, did you get a mail from them or you went directly to their office to check? My EOR request is just 8 weeks now, i'm wondering if it might be ready besides there is no platform for checking processed EOR on their website.
@House, is there any possibility of WES accepting a "in lieu of" document in place of certificate? Unfortunately i might not be able to get my MSc certificate from the school due to lapses on their part which will cost me a lot of points. |
