Your chances of gaining admission is slim but your can boost it by registering for language test, applying to schools that are under uni- assist and writing a very good motivation letter . Work experiences too may help.

Samguine:

Ogun pays 5k to corpers posted to PUBLIC sec schools OUTSIDE Abeokuta the state capital..In other words, if u are not entitled to the govt allowance if

1. You are serving in a ministry or secretariat anywhere in the state
2. You are serving in Abeokuta
3. You are serving in a private school anywhere in the state. Although, private schools pay around 5k at the end of every month. You dont get paid during holidays though.

The government pays the cumulative amount, about 55k at the end of the service year.

You are also not entitled if you are posted to ijebu-ode, only corpers serving in public schools in rural areas in ijebu ode get paid at the end of the year (55k).

Sports / Re: Keshi Has Lost It - Victor Ikpeba by lusen(m): 7:53am On Oct 04, 2014
aspirebig: Ikpeba, well said. But remember that the same team building gave u chance in Monaco, where they later referred to u as "Prince", despite the fact that your father was NEVER a king in the city of Monaco.

The same team building gave chance to score the second goal against Brazil in Atlanta 96.

The same team building gave you chance in the SE squad, if you have a younger brother is among those invited, would you have said this same thing? Honestly, answer me ooo? That is Nigeria for you.

The last thing I check," Change is the only constant thing in life".

And, you don't change a winning team, but at as the last count, SE were far from being a winning team, the non rookies invited in the SE last two matches couldn't beat less rated and known Congo in our backyard in Calabar or SA in their home, in fact, SA nearly beat us. I know that there is no underdog in the world football again but the place of history cannot be totally be ignored. That is why most often, sports analysts go to fish record of teams past matches, how winning or loss does each has, and how many draws too.

The way the new coaches to come after Keshi will be criticised too, it is left to be seen. We are waiting,
Even our Afcon team last year were criticised b4 their match against Ivory Coast. Uneasy is the head that wears the cap...
Since the day of westerhof, all the Bert Volt, or what is hs name and Siasia, Amodu etc which of them has brought home Afcon Cup?

When Keshi has issues with player, it is always Keshi fault . When all saw what happened with
Osaze's case both with Keshi and WBA and how those white saddists in WBA and their sponsored jounalists nearly finished his career that non of the Epl clubs ever want to have anything with him again, despite his exploits in WBA. Till 2moro, Osaze remains the one of their best goal scorers in WBA, it is still in their books as record.

On the issue of Yobo, he later settled with the big boss and apologised, before he went the WCup in Brazil. Now, he has qiut the national team after his 100 caps record.Age is telling and guy has tried.

Uche brothers,I think their is being used as selling point for the newspapers sport pages. They should come and let this issue be addressed once and let's move forward.

As for Martins,Emenike, honestly I think those guys and Kelechi ihanachor should be in SE team now.All those guys that scored for Congo against Nigeria are young chaps. I do not agree with the big boss for excluding most of these guys in the team either.

As for Ideye, no comment.

Keshi is not perfect and so is every living soul.

Well said.

sholay2011: @Googler Hmmmm!!!! All is well sir. Please don't do anything drastic. Just take a step back and be positive-minded about your challenges.

I dunno how to 'advise' sef but I know God didn't promise us an easy journey in life, only a safe arrival. Even the people you're 'admiring or envious of' have serious challenges they're perfectly hiding behind those fake smiles in their heavily-edited pictures splattered all over social media. Yearn for your situation to improve to make yourself and future family happy, but not to impress outsiders.

I actually admire your trait of not 'being an expert in cheating/backstabbing etc.' to get by, especially in a country like Nigeria. I am quite close to that too. We can still make it regardless of the societal norm. In fact, our chances should be higher (though more difficult) 'cos we've chosen to be different. Honesty is still the best policy.. .it hasn't changed.

Please don't give up on your University education. ..I beg you. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. Before you know it, this difficult period that seems infinite is just a phase that has fizzled into your past. If you're religious, you can also seek God's face as to the next step to take at this stage of one's life.

Amidst your hustle to be comfortable and achieve set goals as a man, never lose the best parts of yourself and always keep improving on your weaknesses. Also, always remember life is an echo. Whatever you sow, you will reap, what you see in others exists in you, whatever you give will always come back to you. So, give goodness.

#This is coming from someone whose situation is worse (in an entirely different way though), at least in my opinion#

Btw, I love the opening lines of the song 'Lean On Me':
" Sometimes in our lives, we all have pains...we all have sorrows. ..but, if we are wise....we know that there's. ..always tomorrow. .. " cry

NYSC / “lover Boy” Corps Member Stabbed By Girlfriend. by lusen(m): 1:47pm On Apr 09, 2013
A corps member, Emmanuel Oyelara serving in Ohaozara Local government area of the state was weekend, stabbed in his left eye by one of his girl friends for allegedly having an affair with another lady within the area of his place of primary assignment.
Oyelara who is now lying in a critical condition at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, FETHA, because of the injuries he sustained might never see again as it was reported that before the unfortunate incident his right eye were already defective.
It was gathered that a fight broke-out when one Happiness and Maria, whom the “lover boy” Corps member was said to have been dating, eventually met in his house on the faithful day.
Investigation revealed that the fight was the fourth time the ladies were fighting in Corper Oyelara’s house over who would take over the “lover boy” corps member.
It was learnt that Happiness who hailed from Umuchima in Uburu town of the LGA, having been hurt by the promiscuous attitude of Oyelara allegedly used a broken bottle and stabbed him on his left eye without considering the consequences of her action.

Meanwhile, when our correspondent visited Corper Oyelara at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, he denied that the two ladies were his friends, insisting that they (the ladies) usually bring vegetables for him to buy until when both of them met in his house and engaged in fight.
According to him, when the fight started, he left to go and report the matter to their parents when Happiness caught up with him and stabbed him on his left eye.
However, investigation revealed that the two ladies are single mothers; one with 3 children and the other with 2 kids purportedly from different men.
Contacted, the Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Sylvester Igbo confirmed that the two Uburu ladies had been arrested over the incident as investigation were on to unravel the remote causes that made Happiness to stab the victim on his left eye having been aware that the corps member had difficulty in seeing with his right eye.
He added that investigation had proven that the victim was dating the two ladies, Happiness and Maria before the unfortunate incident occurred.
