Africankel:
1. There's been a change in the issuing pattern for SA visas. I'm told the new Consular-General (Not High Commissioner), now issues visa validity from 10 days to 3 months (Three months is the maximum for short stay). Hence the previous statutory three-month validity rule, no longer apply. The stay on sticker visas has never been three months. While you may be offered a three month validity visa, you are only allowed to stay for 30 days on each visit, as long as the visa remains valid.

2. If you arrive SA on 27/02/2024, you'll be authorised to stay for a period of 30 days, not two days.

Alright! Thanks for the information.
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by lusen(m): 8:29pm On Jan 19
Hello house,

My passport was delivered today, and I have been granted a South African visitor's visa.

The visa was issued on the 17th of January 2024, and it was stated that I must enter South Africa on or before the 29th of February 2024.

I have a couple of questions:
1) I understand that a tourist visa for South Africa is typically granted for a stay of 3 months in the country. However, the condition on my visa states that I can only be admitted to SA for 30 days. Has there been a recent change to reduce the permitted stay from 3 months (90 days) to 30 days?

2) It was specified on my visa that I must enter SA on or before 29/02/2024. If I arrive in SA on 27/02/2024, am I required to depart the country on or before 29/02/2024, or can I stay in the country for 30 days starting from 27/02/2024?

I would greatly appreciate some clarification on these matters.
Thank you.

Well it is still the embassy that will stamp it not VFS,VFS will only take your passport and send to the embassy, they are not the one to stamp your passport.

Okay! I will make my findings on that.
Thanks for the information.

Now that my passport won’t get to VHS within two days (or even two weeks) as requested in the email they sent to me. What will happen? Just curious. Thanks.

It says the embassy will continue to release processed application till 22nd of December

Which is today.

Yes, I understand.
My application has already been processed by the embassy and released to VHS.
I’ve already gotten an email from VHS to submit my passport within two working days. I wouldn’t have gotten that email if my application hasn’t been released to them.
I have no business with the embassy at this stage.
I only need to submit my passport to VHS and get my visa stamped on it.

Hope you are aware go and read the news letter on VFS portal

Yes. I read the newsletter. VFS South Africa will be closed ONLY for SUBMISSION of Visa Applications. It is stated in the newsletter that they will remain open to release processed applications to applicants.

Yes. Most likely approved, also notify them of your movements.

Thanks.
I’m not in Nigeria at the moment but I’ve sent my passport to the visa application centre as requested.

My passport will get to the visa application after one week. It was stated in the email I received that I need to submit my passport within two days.

Hope there won’t be any issue of any kind if my passport arrive at the centre after 10 days?

Also, I have applied for a visit visa, which I believe has a validity of three months. I would like to know if the three-month duration commences from the day I received the email requesting my passport submission or from the day the visa is stamped on my passport.

Thanks.

Hello!
I applied for a South Africa visit visa last month.
I’ve just been requested to submit my international passport to South Africa Visa Application Centre within 2 working days.

1) Does that mean I’ve been granted the visa.
2) What could happen if my passport doesn’t get there within two working days as mentioned in the email? Can the visa be withdrawn because of late submission of my passport?
Travel / Re: Is My Visa Agent A Scam? by lusen(m): 8:05am On May 06, 2021
It's simple. Since you did biometrics, that means you have an account with Canada immigration. Your agent did submit an application for you. The application might be for a visitor visa though.

Ask your agent your login details, open your account and see for yourself.

MrEgghead:

That doesn't mean MBBS and DVM holders earn the same as they are paid on different salary scale....
Before Doctors started from CONMESS 2 which was equivalent to GL 12 but now it's CONMESS 3...

DVM holders in federal service are paid on CONPSS and their entry level is CONPSS 12 which amounts to #1,227,172 per annum.

But the MBBS/BDS holders at entry level are paid on CONMESS 03 which amounts to #2,642,172, there's a huge difference.

Medical Doctors and Vets do not earn same amount as they are now paid on different structures.
Don't let anyone deceive you, I have all the salary structures of federal public service with me.

Thanks for the insight.
Pls, what is the annual salary of a Registered Architect at the entry level in the federal public service?

Many people are here condemning the act of the Hunter, even when it was stated that the animal is a danger to the people in that community.

well! it is easy to sit in your house and type whatever you like. Many comments are being too harsh on the poor hunter. Have you taught of it that the elephant might be a wild one trying to attack the Hunter?

Some said he should have captured the elephant alive in that thick forest and go and hand it over to the relevant authority. lol! lots of very funny people on this thread.

We pray to God to bless our businesses, so does the Hunter who earn his living from killing bush animals. He had just added a feather to his cap by killing the elephant.

Good day
I am a female
HND Architecture since 2007
Presently working with the government here in 9ja

I just found out that I won't be promoted pass level 14. I also found out so many things and I am fed up.

I want to leave Nigeria.
I want to go to Australia and pick up my life
No need playing second fiddle

I am 33
I have a 1yrplus child
I am married but my hubby has no job...So no support from him.

Pls I need sincere advise.
Should I go in as a student?
No one will pay anything for me, I will do all myself.
Should I apply for PR?
What will my HND with work experience as a customer care representative for 6 years do for me.
My work experience as an Architect is just 2years.

I so want to move with my child
And have my hubby join later. Or I move alone and have em join later. Or we all move together.

Please I need sincere help as I am a novice and have no one in Aussie except a friend whom I advised to move to Aussie and she was successful. Can't reach her again.

Madam,

I hope you know ACA won't give you a positively accessment with your HND in Architecture. Fine, you might be accessed positively for an Architectural draughtperson for the 190 subclass, But the last time I check, only Tasmania sponsor the occupation and you will be extra lucky to get an invitation.

What are the qualifications of your husband? he might stand a better chance than you in the PR race.

I'm not an expert in ausee migration matters, but I feel the best bet for you is to come with a study visa alongside your husband. You can get your PR easily after two years of study if you play your game very well. Fine, Australia is an expensive place to study but you can do a smart thing by first coming to study a 2 yr program in a TaFe (lesser tuition) and you continue in a university after you get your PR. since alot of these TaFe courses are pathways that leads to a bachelors degree in universities.

Aĺl the best!

It's better to go together with your spouse if you have one. she can work for an unlimited time. You will be able to work for only 40hours per fortnight during school session.

Please lusen, what if you have a spouse in Australia working full time, will that be of hlp to who is a student ns working part time?

And how soon do u tink your spouse can/should join you once you land Oz?

Yes of course. bring your spouse to join you in the hustle if you have one. The Asians are very good at this. especially Indians. kenyans, Zimbabweans etc are good at it too.

It's a very wise thing to do because your spouse can work for as many hours as possible since she is not studying. But you have a work restriction on ur visa. You can only work for 40hrs per fortnight. The earlier she joins you, the better.

Before i came to Australia to commence my studies, I always ask if I will be able to pay the second year tuition through savings and intensive work as i could only afford the first year fees (no thanks to our falling naira). I always wonder why nobody gave me a straightforward answer until I came here and got to know I was only asking a jamb question. Truly, its a difficult question to answer as what worked for Mr. A might not work for Mr. B.

Yes, you can get a Job to feed yourself and pay for accommodation. It's really gonna be hard if you wanna pay school fees yourself. Its actually very possible if you are the 'hustling' type. There are people doing it. But definately, you mustn't be lazy, unnecessarily choosy nor Lilly livered. You must be strong. Very strong.. Generally, i will say, if you can afford only one year tuition, take the risk. You never know what God will do.

Note that about 70% of jobs here will require you to have a car. Bring your driving licence and plan to buy a car as soon as you land. Bring lots of money to settle down(as much as possible).
By my observation so far, Aged care/disability jobs is the best for international students. But most times, one must be certified before he/She can be employed in an aged care facility, meaning you should also try as much as possible to start the course after settling down.

Yes. truly, one should enable to find schools around the cities where there are greater job opportunities. I av peeps in the cities that are changing jobs like diapers. work full everywhere.
Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and the likes.

I'm not in any of the cities I listed above. I'm in Geelong. (one hour from Melbourne). But its okay by me because apart from the low cost of living, I will grab my extra 5points when I finish my studies and start processing my PR. geelong is considered a regional area and no 5 extra points for those in big cities.

If your plan is to stay back after your studies. You must make sure you are coming to do a two-year program minimum. Also the course you are coming to study must not only be on the SOL/CSOL list, It also should be a course you think will 'stand the test of time' on the list, so you won't wake up one day and discover your course is nowhere to be found on the list.

Australia is a very beautiful place. A multicultural society. The people are very friendly. They keep smiling at you like you just won 30billion.

hope I've not written too much epistle.. Okay let me drop my pen. cheers!

yeah we have gotten a positive assessment from AACA body in march. as for the 60point below I our calculation, maybe I might be wrong

Age= 30points
English= ??points
Skilled assessment (more than 8yrs)= 15points
Qualification= 15points

total is 60points for now we are still waiting for English result.

Educational qualification goes hand in hand with skill assessment.======if this is true, then we have done both.

Is the English exam PTE-A?, =======NO, it is IELTS

thanks for your response.

Thanks tosin.

@oknee:the car was advertised at 3400(negotiable) on gumtree(a toyota sportivo the one we call toyota big for nothing). We negotiated and got it at 2600 thinking we don jam deal we no say na we arab don jam.
So far we have spent over 2500 fixing the so called minor issues, airconditioning and getting a road worthiness certificate.mean while a friend i had here got the toyota pencil light at 1600 and it had road worthiness, airconditioning and was registered. So always look carefully and if possible take mechanic along.

for aged care/disability,there is somewhere in dandenong(south east melbourne) you can do a one day course with fourteen assignments and you get a certificate.the cost is about $1900.Good thing is you can take the course on credit and pay after you start earning money.i will be doing this after we move and the kids begin daycare.Just received the good news some minutes ago that our house application has been approved and we can move in.Its a 3bed,2bath house in south east melbourne going for 375 weekly(me and vinsmuft go be neighbours).will hook you up when you land with the care contact oknee.

hubby did a two day forklift course($400).He has also done a police clearance and working with children check so he can work in the aged care/disability sector(pls opt for disability instead of aged care as aged care dey much more physically tasking).
This saturday though,he has an appointment with a career coach/counsellor who is going to help him build his cv and work with him till he gets a job in his accounting/auditing field. This is costing money same with every other check i have listed above.
You will all find out nothing at all is free in OZ.Even when you buy pizza, you go pay for delivery.

The pay is a bit above decent. The guy we stay with works with autistic people and he earns $33 per hour week days and $51 weekends. His wife who is a registered nurse earns $40 week days and $73 weekends. There"s talk in some places that aged care/disability workers might not earn as much from July this year but i do not know how true this is.
I met a couple a few days ago who were both accountants in Nigeria.Infact the wife na chartered accountant sef.Today she"s a nurse and her husband is a factory worker who is studying to be a nurse by the side himself. They moved here 3years ago and are living in their own house now.

so this place na as you make am be.

Hello. I'm in Melbourne. I'm interested in the aged care course you mentioned. Do they accept international students? what is the name of the institute? The tuition of most aged care programs I've been seeing are on the high side. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
