Good morning all, I need urgent advice with my 2008 Honda accord. One of the bolts holding the steering pump got broken, for my mechanic to change it he had to being the engine out, I lost AC gas, transmission oil, steering oil etc. What are the recommended transmission and steering oil for this car and also he just informed me that my fans stopped working after installing the engine. I had intentions of draining the transmission fluid and replace with a recommended one because I don't know the one that was previously used (3months old in my hands). Thanks

Honda Genuine power steering fluid and ATF-DW1 are the recommended fluids.
Make sure you get the original as the market has been flooded with clones from China

My 2004 4plug accord has a very poor performance, rough on idle, consumes so much fuel that I had to visit fuel station all the time. The car was scanned and code po141 and pp118 showed up. Pls, kindly recommend a good accord technician to me in oyingbo or lekki ajah axis

For Pilot, ZDX & MDX, they use VTM-4 differential fluid
For CRV, HRV, Element & Crosstour, thet Dual Pump II

ON REAR AXLES & DIFFERENTIALS

For every Honda or Acura vehicle that is either a 4 wheel drive (4 x 4) or an All wheel, there is a an rear differential that connects the two back shafts, linked to the gear box by a propeller.
These include, MDX, Pilot, CRV, HRV, RDX, CrossTour, Element & ZDX.

The rear differential is the big round metal sitting inbetween the two back tyres, driven by the propeller which in turn drives the two back shafts the drives the rear tyres.

The fluids used for the back axle or rear differential is entirely different from the ones used in the engine or transmission. Most mechanics pour in normal Dextron III fluid or manual transmission oil which is very wrong.

For Crosstour, Element, CRV & HRV, their differential fluid is Dual Pump II

For MDX, RDX, Pilot & ZDX, their differential fluid is VTM4

I noticed that during acceleration, engine rpm hesitates at 2000 rpm for a while then rises again. This is more noticeable when engine is loaded eg. With AC on or with 5 occupants in the vehicle or climbing a steep hill.

Please what should be looked into?

NOTE -- Vehicle is a 2005 Accord, 4-cyl, auto transmission.
No check engine light and no fault codes when scanned.
Transmission shifts very fine.
Air filter was replaced, but fault persists.
Tyres are at rated pressure, balanced and aligned.

hello bosses in the house,my accord 2002 steering is kinda loose and the front legs are not firm on roads,I found out that the tie rod ends are already torn.The last time I inspected the tie rods the Mech said he wud press the tie rod end to be firm and strong. when he pressed it it became very firm,but right now I tink its worn,pls and pls do I need to change the complete tie rods and how much wud it cost me for the both legs.thank you all for ur contributions in advance

Why refurbish what you should be replacing?

Transmission fluids are for gear boxes, PSF are for steering pumps, stop pouring gear fluids into steering systems, you are not helping yourself.

If your vehicle pulsates on stepping on the brakes, your pad or rotors may be bad, but if you have an ABS light on the dashboard, it could be a factor.
If the brake is flat, the brake cylinder is most likely the faulty component, but in the 2008 - 2012 Accord(Evil spirit) the back brake calipers can be a factor on that range of accords.

You can resurface brake discs (brake rotors) instead of replacing them and the pads.

You need first of all the serial number of the radio. You can do that by holding down 1 and 6 together on the radio then turn the ignition to on. The s/n will display so you can quickly write it down. Then proceed to https://hondaradiocodes.com/ and input the s/n to get the code. That's all

Make sure you get very genuine ball joints, in the event that you can't, go for good grade tokunbo.


Go do a scan, abs module or sensor problem, your brake fluids or pad maybe low and gear sign is your emission symbol likely pointing towards O2 sensor.
