socialmediaman: Where is the monthly economic report that substantiates this claim you just put up here?
We will all see it in the monthly economic report that should be published by the CBN monthly for transparency, this is not some hidden access only information
You too should advocate for transparency because absence of it creates suspicion, and many of us were right about the previous government CBN is not using our foreign reserve to strengthen our currency, get that into your thick skull. Keep hoarding the Dollars, e go shock you when a Dollar becomes N450 |

Blazetrailer:
...Nigeria on the float....u don't know anything. People are quick to accord accolades to Tinubu for some of the things that happened in Lagos under his governorship. Now let me give you an insight of what happens as you will see a lot of this happening soon as soon as his administration starts settling down....some new ideas will start coming up and those will be painted as innovative and forward looking with many positive benefits for the populace, with a lot of PR and other public opinion shifting mechanisms as to how those will benefit the people more or in the public interest l, even if these ideas are retrogressive, needless, painful, and meaningless to the people in the face of other public priorities. These ideas are private proposals brought by business entities to make more money at the expense of the populace...but disguised as a public initiative. This will be forced down the throat if the people after the "Oga" and his boys would have incorporated their share of the revenue(%) in percentages....public assets or properties will be converted at an almost free or little cost to the business ventures....money will be made and be shared with little or no benefit to the populace. E.g. ikeja mall, Alpha Betta consulting, BAT diagnostic centre in Lasuth, LCC, Eko Atlantic(chagourys),etc....these were business proposals brought to him under a revenue-sharing formula but disguised as public interest initiatives.
I won't be surprised if this is an idea from one of the private businessmen and sold to one of his men...look deeply at the company that will implement this....as.mentioned above, na one of them... You spoke my mind. More business ideas will come up with the sole aim of enriching their pocket at the expense of the masses. It may or may not eventually benefit the masses. |

Awon ashiere They want to rob us of our hard-earned money again. Why not incorporate these features into the existing National ID card? This government doesn't mean well for the average and poor Nigerians. *Modified* For those castigating me because of my comment, it seems you guys are not in Nigeria. *I did my NIN registration in 2013, up till now I've not gotten the physical ID. *No doubt I've been using the Slip, the NIN, and the e-ID on the NIMC app. *Were you aware that you have to pay to correct any error made on your details by NIMC? *A lot of people can't link their NIN to their bank account because of these errors. Some made the necessary payment 3 months ago but the errors weren't rectified. *Do you think registering for National ID is a seamless exercise? I have a ward that needs this ID badly, she eventually got it but I don't want to experience the kind of mental and physical stress involved anymore. Mind you, you have to pay 5k for registration.
The government can easily pull out details of citizens with NIN and BVN, do the necessary upgrades and verification, and then issue a new ID with all these features without stressing people.NIMC should check how Lagos state is handling the LASRRA ID for Lagosians. There are smart ways of doing things this day with little or no stress.https://www.lagosresidents.gov.ng/faqs/#1594837557458-efffbde5-717c |

People should learn not to be silly... Always clean out the CC and the 16-digit number on your card including your name.
If you steal my ATM card, you won't be able to use it because you won't find a single digit on it, you will have no option but to throw it away.

successmatters: I know Mustapha Gazebo, he's a great guy
I finding solace in attacking Peter Obi and Obidients
Tinubu supporters have realized that they made the worst decision of their lives. Tinubu, whom they all voted for, has turned out to be a disaster. His economic policies have been very bad, leading to a high inflation rate, naira depreciation, hunger, and starvation. Nigerians now scream Ebi n pa wa on a daily basis, resorting to looting warehouses, looting trucks with goods, etc.
It's all gloom and doom.
There's anarchy in the land. And it's just a little over nine months in a four or eight-year tenure under the Tinubu administration.
They are stuck.
Sensible Tinubu supporters who have now realized this have become withdrawn, resorting to hoping against hope that things turn out miraculously for the better.
The not-so-sensible ones now finds solace in attacking Peter Obi, a private citizen going about his personal business, and attacking the Obidients who warned them about voting for Tinubu, who had absolutely nothing to offer.
A hungry man is an angry man; they have now become angry and violent. They no longer make sensible comments without insults. It's so pathetic.
Mustapha Gajebo will make a good senate president This topic is not about Peter Obi |

Business › Re: The End Of Naira, NGN, On Binance by lwisee: 1:51pm On Mar 05, 2024 |
Faiththatworks: I feel very very very sad about this news. I don't understand why the Government is forcing binance to delist the naira from the exchange. It's a very very very bad idea,I have repeatedly said it on Nairaland that Government should regulate the activities of binance, but I totally disagree with removing the naira on the platform. Although some people may disagree but sincerely the naira has been a bit stable in the last 2 weeks since Government forced binance to stop allowing the naira to trade on the exchange. I was very critical of the modus operandi of binance and how it kept speculating on the value of the naira,If not for Government intervention,I'm sure the Naira would have been more than 2000 naira on the exchange. Now to how it will affect Nigerians, the CBN governor himself said 26 billion dollars was traded through binance last year, that's a very huge and staggering figure,I dare say it's just a little less than the annual budget of Nigeria,in essence binance is almost becoming a country in its own. The money traded on binance is almost equal to our foreign reserve,no industry in Nigeria can compete for dollar demand like that traded in Binance. Government must understand the crypto market with players like binance are helping Nigerians in meeting up some of its dollar need, and stopping the use of the naira on binance will lead to the downward spiral of the naira. Let us assume the 26 billion dollar traded on binance is true,I believe half must be demand from genuine people who want to maybe send or receive money. Government must understand this demand for crypto can't be wished away,if these people decide to source for their usd in the forex market, the CBN will never be able to meet up with the supply, and I'm sure even Mr Cardoso knows this. Nigeria doesn't have any Dollars right now to be used in meeting demand from crypto buyers. I advise Mr Cardoso to have a rethink, this is a policy somersault from his office, early this year he liberalised the use of crypto trading in Nigeria, now he's reversing the policy. I appeal to the Minister of Digital Economy, the NSA, Minister of Finance and the Minister of Youth Affairs have a round table on how to regulate the use of Crypto exchanges in Nigeria. This policy will Affect mostly young Nigerians, pls don't make it harder on them. God bless Nigeria Any genuine request for Dollar should be through the bank directly or through authorized BDC Operator. |
