Religion / Re: Tithing Is Of The Law And Not Meant For Christians by M0ron: 8:26pm On May 18, 2018
Primesky:

Oh brother! why not give the complete passage? Let me help you.

Acts 15:28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;

15:29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

The scripture you quoted did not clearly set aside tithing my friend all I see you doing is postulating and asumming by head knowledge, and that is not good.

Was tithing truly a law of Moses?. Because it exited before Moses and God reiterated it in Malachi. 3:10. Also, how did Abraham get to know about tithing?. And who taught him because it was not categorically stated in the bible?. So how did he (Abraham) get to know such a spiritual exercise that was later made a part of the Jewish law and later reinforced by God himself?.

If you go back to my previous post, you will see clearly what I said about tithing.

I want to ask you, just as you cannot categorically say who taught Abraham what tithing is or how to do it because it not stated so in the bible. Or do you know?. So, you cannot categorically say it was set aside. That passage you put up there in no reason enough. You can't bring a blanket passage and say this is it.

Apostle Paul had the right to demand physical needs from the gentiles, but he chose not to. That's not to say he set aside tithing. Now we can say OK, apostle Paul decided not to take anything even though according to him, he has the right to. What will you say about the other apostles? Did they also turn it down?. What apostle Paul did, asumming he was talking about tithe, is in fact totally different from what you're saying, supporting and doing. You're not a priest or are you? So why do you tell people not to pay tithe when their priest has not said so?.

Now, let's look at the scriptures again!.

2 Corinthians 8:12 For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.

8:13 For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:

8:14 But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:

8:15 As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.

8:16 But thanks be to God, which put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you.

Do you see that there was a general contribution made here for the benefit of the gospel and the brethren, which was encouraged by Paul the apostle?. What these people gave was beyond tithes in the first place. (Acts 5:1 - 5)

When the church sends a missionary to some other place as the Lord directs, where do you think they get the money from?. The apostles were in charge of the welfare of everybody and the spread of the gospel. Until it became too burdensome that they had to delegate men to manage it, isn't it how Stephen came about?. What were the early Christians sharing that brought about conflict among their windows in the first place?. Were did the materials and money come from?. Is that not in agreement with the purpose of God for tithing, which is that there may be meat in my house?. What else are you people searching for about tithing?. Will you talk about tithing when, willingly, the early Christians sold their possessions and brought all the procedes to the church! What will anybody tithe from there?. What happened to Ananias and Sappirah? Can you give the way the early church gave, 100%?. What God is asking from us is just 10% minimum of our procedes and income so that His work can continue, offering is voluntary, and yet we are complaining!. The problem is the priest in charge now, not the principle!

Again, I will say, since both proponents and opponents of this tithe issue base their claims on the scriptures, what will happen to that soul that refuses to pay it after death, and he/she stands before God only to hear God say, hey son, the tithe commandment still stands?. I say, what becomes of that soul, because God calls them thieves and robbers in Mal. 3. Will they still enter heaven?. Note, no body will be justified or enter heaven because of tithing, only faith in Jesus Christ will. But it's possible to go to hell if you have the means to give and yet, refuse to give it. If you then believe in Jesus Christ, wouldn't you keep His commandments, which includes tithing?. That's if you accept the Old Testament contains the words of Jesus. Jesus was the one who called some laws of the Old Testament, laws of Moses, but not all the laws were Moses laws. Some were God's principles. Some of the Moses laws have been set aside but not God's principles. Note the difference!.

Let's ask God to reveal the matter to us personally and not to make general blanket assumption. It could be deadly!.

Why are you obtuse?

The Urim and Thummin were used by Levites to divine.- Exodus 28:30, 1 Samuel 28:6,Ezra 2:63,
Setting aside the Leviticus priesthood effectively set aside urim and thummin. You don’t have any scripture to the effect that these were set aside but you can use your God given brain to know all elements of the Levitical Priesthood were set aside together with it.

Tithing was one of the elements of the Levitical Priesthood.

You keep demanding for a scripture that set it aside because you know there’s none, and you use thst to imagine tithing is still in place. So does your pasta(sic) employ urim and thummin to divine?

The tithing brigade are very fond of straw men arguments because they know there is nothing in the scripture backing tithing. It is a diversionary tactic

They imagine that anyone opposing tithing is opposed to ministerial support. Nope. While there are those who believe that ministers should fend for themselves, most have read 1 Cor 9 and they know that ministers have a right to be supported (tho Paul forfeited these rights). But that support is by free will giving and not tithing

Religion / Re: How a Muslim Can Effectively Manage His Time During Ramadan by M0ron: 10:57am On May 18, 2018
Embell:
Salaam aleykum warahmatullah wabarakatuh. Congratulations to us for making it to this year Ramadan, Alhamdulilah.
As we all know, this is a month for exclusive Ibadah which a Muslim should try maximize rewards. Key to this is time management techniques.

The following are time management techniques during Ramadan :

1. Calculate how much Ibaadah time you will have daily
Ideally, we all want to spend Ramadan performing acts of worship 24/7, but this isn’t realistic and most of us have other obligations that we need to take care of as well. So work out in advance how much time you will have daily for Ibaadah, then set goals to get that much Ibaadah done. The formula is simple: 24 Hours – (Sleep time, Work Time, Family Responsibility) = Ibaadah time.
If for example, you have 3 hours of ibaadah time, you can schedule in an hour of Qur’an reciting, an hour of studying Islam and an hour for dua and Dhikr. You can really get a lot done if you stick with this formula for the entire month.

2. Set Clear Goals
Now that you know how much Ibaadah time you have available daily, the next step is to set S.M.A.R.T goals. S.M.A.R.T means that the goal is specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time-bound. For example, if your goal is to study some Tafsir this Ramadan, the problem with this goal is that it is too vague (which Tafsir), not measurable (How many pages), and not attainable or realistic (does one page of Tafsir fulfil the goal or five books of Tafisr?).
A S.M.A.R.T goal would be: I want to complete studying this 800 page book of Tafsir this Ramadan. In order to complete 800 pages in 29 days, I need to read an average of 28 pages a day.

3. Allocate time for each goal:
Now that your goals for Ramadan are clearly defined and you know how much time you have daily for Ibaadah, the next step is to combine this by allocating specific times daily for chasing each goal. Eg: If you have the goal of reading 30 pages of Tafsir daily and that will take you an hour, and you know that you have an hour a day free every evening before Tarawih, then allocate that time to be your Tafsir time. Set a specific time of the day for reciting Qur’an (perhaps before or after Fajr), making dua (before Iftar), having a family Halaqa (after Asr or after Tarawih) and any other goals you are working towards.

4. Utilize the early hours of the morning:
In Summer countries, Suhoor is quite early and many people can’t wake up too early before it. In that case, I recommend utilizing an hour after Suhoor for Ibaadah. In Winter countries, Suhoor is quite late, so waking up an hour before it is easier. In such countries, I recommend waking up an hour earlier and dedicating that time to Qiyam Al-Layl (Tahajjud), dua and reciting Qur’an. The early mornings are known having Barakah (blessings) and it is a time when we are not pre-occupied with work and family obligations. Use it!

5. Schedule in a family Halaqa:
Ramadan is the perfect time for the family to bond and grow in Imaan together. The devils are locked up and everybody is more spiritual. This spirituality needs to be nurtured so that we can benefit from it after Ramadan. One way to do this is to establish a family Halaqa (study circle). Read a chapter of an Islamic book (or listen to a lecture) then discuss its contents with each other. Continue this even after Ramadan.

6. Dedicate time daily for Qur’an:
Ramadan is the month of Qur’an and so it is obvious that time must be dedicated daily to Qur’an. In some communities, people recite Qur’an very quickly each Ramadan to get it over with or complete as many Qur’an recitals as possible. Instead of doing this, focus on reciting properly, studying the Tafsir and reflecting on its meanings. This will have a longer lasting effect on one’s Imaan and Taqwa.

7. Avoid Multi-Tasking
This is a general time management tip that applies outside Ramadan as well. Studies show multi-tasking actually slows down productivity and causes sloppy work. Modern time management experts agree that focusing on one task at a time gets the task done faster with better quality than multi-tasking. Don’t try to recite Qur’an, while browsing through Facebook and taking care of a child all at the same time. The same applies to studying Tafsir or making dua. Choose a place, time and situation in which you will have the least distractions and give the act of worship your undivided focus.

8. Fast from excessive socializing
This includes both social media and physical socialization. Ramadan is the month of Itikaf. One of the goals of Itikaf is to take a break from our social lives so that we can focus on our relationship with Allah. If you are unable to make Itikaf, you can still get this benefit in Ramadan by cutting down on socializing and dedicating more time to Ibaadah. Attend a few less Iftaar parties, log into Facebook and Twitter for shorter durations and excuse yourself from unnecessary gatherings.

9. Stay Healthy
You cannot accomplish your goals if you are feeling lazy, weak, agitated or sleep-deprived. Some of us do too much during the first few days of Ramadan and end up without any energy to push on for the remainder of Ramadan. Pace yourself and take care of your body by getting enough sleep, eating healthy and staying hydrated.
The average person needs between 6-8 hours sleep a night, so make sure you are getting it, even if it means going to bed a bit earlier. Avoid sugary and oily foods and eat wholesome foods for both Suhoor and Iftaar. Drink a lot of water at night before bed as that will keep you hydrated during the day.
May Allah make this Ramadan a productive and blessed one for all of us. Ameen.

aitazaz:
It's so great to see that Trump understood how significant the holy land is!
Every believer should experience the amazing spriritual enlightement of visiting Israel.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s visit to Israel has coincided with President Donald Trump’s decision to move the United States embassy to Jerusalem, the official capital of Israel, Christians said on Thursday.
Some of them described Trump’s decision as a bold move, saying it was against all international consensus regarding the matter.
Oyakhilome, the cleric behind the esteemed Believers LoveWorld Incorporation (Christ Embassy), planned another outstanding trip to the Holy Land and hundreds of his followers are joining him on this spiritual journey. The trip to Israel is a week long voyage (May 10 – 18) aimed at lifting the spiritual heights of all participants.
A member of the Christ Embassy church said, “Donald Trump has many avid evangelical supporters in the US, yet he did not fold to the pressure of those against the idea and understood the great biblical significance of recognising the capital of the Jewish state in this way.”
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, he also said, “The connection between the Christian community around the world and the Jewish people can be attributed to their shared belief in the Old Testament.”
He added, “It is for these very reasons that visiting the Holy Land is such a monumental moment in the life of an Evangelical Christian. Pastor Chris’ organised visit to Israel and Jordan provides the opportunity to hundreds of believers and followers of the pastor to experience a new level of spiritual connection to Jesus. Visiting the Holy sites with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s guidance is a once in a lifetime chance to visualise the events in the Bible first hand.

https://pcdl.co/

Meanwhile, the church said that Oyakhilome hand selected as many special and significant sites as possible so that participants could experience as much of the Holy Land as possible in a short eight-day long strip.
“Special sites include the ancient city of Petra in Jordan and Cana where Jesus turned water into wine. The focus of the visit of course will be on holy and spiritually significant places, such as the Church of Primacy, where Jesus met with the disciplines for the “last breakfast,” a statement from the church read.
“Places significant to the Jewish people are a focus in this trip as well, as they are organising a visit to sites such as the Western Wall, which is the ancient external wall of the Second Jewish Temple destroyed roughly 2000 years ago,” the statement also read.
It added, “In addition to the physical journey, Pastor Chris and his followers will have, a more meaningful spiritual path is expected. Each site on the itinerary has both modern day and biblical significance. Pastor Chris will pause the week-long journey in a few significant sites to hold a delegation wide ministration to all participants.
“The aim is to connect participants of faith to the places they are experiencing and visiting. It will be a chance to hear the man of God’s perspective and enlightened insight on the Holy Land and its connection to the Bible.”

Giving and tithing are two different things my dear. You said tithing was set aside, and I am asking you to please show me the place in the new testament where tithing was categorically set aside. You see, we know in part and understand in part, I want to be very convinced by the scriptures that it was set aside, just like animal sacrifices. Assumptions and head knowledge won't work here. I don't know it all. Please, can you point to that place?. Thank you.

God is a Father to all true believers, there's actually no room for this arguments, what has God told you?. Can you actually go to God and say, Lord please, I don't understand what your word says about this and that, have you done that first, or are you just postulating?. What is the Holy Spirit given to us for, is it not to lead us into all truth?. Mere quoting of the scriptures won't do, afterall, no body without the Holy Spirit can quote the bible better than Satan himself. Should I be wowed simply because somebody quote this and that?. Of cause not!

The bible says, they that be lead by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. So, let the Holy Spirit lead us.

I have shown you

Levites received tithes. We have never had the law shift from.Levites to pastors and as long as Levitical priesthood remains abrogated then we have abrogated tithing.

If that's not enough to exorcise religion out of you then I don't know what will.

Giving on the other hand we have elaborate and repeated teachings on the same, BOTH for charity and supporting ministers

People hate their biggest constant threats and fears

Atheists despite the faux aura of confidence they publicly display are plagued by fear, fear that they are wrong. To surmount it they have to constantly reaffirm their unbelief, as well as deride and mock faith. See it is easy to hate what you mock than what you respect.

Very few Christians have been exposed to strong opposition and rejection of their faith. These are the ones likely to ,out of shock, hate atheists.

So like David, they will only be successful ON THE PULPIT but FAILURES as FATHERS.

These days, men of Gods' Kids are following their parents in taking over the ministry, so it is NOT a Biggie

Don't be rash to blame parents for what their kids become

You and I know too well that despite our best efforts, we can't control their future

Are you a parent?
