Elections in sane climes are held while people go about their normal businesses; why must we kill and maim in the name of elections? The point here is that the offices are too attractive and so people would want to win AT ALL COSTS. Imagine the endless festivals of looting that take place in these offices; why wouldn't hardened criminals be attracted arming their fellow killers (supporters) with all sorts of dangerous weapons? |

tplacid: Am a Yoruba boy and I always say this, the Igbos are gifted with technological prowess and they are very industrious too......this is just one example of so many where an Igbo man builds something from scratch. You can read up on another Igbo man Philip Emeagwali.(There won't be internet without him)
This doesn't mean Yorubas and Hausas don't have their strengths too but there is something VERY unique about the Igbos.
I imagine a Nigeria where there is absolute love among all the major tribes of this republic so we can be the envy of others.
God Bless the Igbos God Bless the Hausas God bless the Yorubas, Tivs,Kanuris, etc (please don't be offended if I didn't mention your tribe........lol) God bless Nigeria and the whole world. So, the victim shouldn't feel too bad because this is the reality that we're facing. Lots of countries fought wars but they are moving forward with all citizens on board; as long as we remain in same country hate will only destroy us! Emaprince: its not unheard of. Many women can do it. The only reason why some don't do it is because they are scared their new lover may see them as cheap and dump them after they musta left their marriage. But, if the man promise to marry them, a lot of them will do it. I know a guy that his wife left after one kid. The guy is very very quiet and maybe the woman found him boring. She left him for another guy that promised to take her places outside the country. She was with the guy for 4yrs and came back last year begging the same man she ditched to take her back. I think she had the guts to come begging because she noticed that the guy haven't remarried or living with another woman. I'm not very close to the dude, if not, I know what to tell him. But he never took her back though. My friend who is very gainfully employed also married a young woman; had a child with her but she left him for another man after few years into the marriage. Reasons for her flight best known to her because she was very well treated and there was no quarrel between the two. |

Emirofsambisa1: Nollywood actress Susan Maxwell has said Nigerians prefer light skinned ladies. In a recent interview, the actress opened up on the inspiration behind her skin care products.
“Many people are of the opinion that light-skinned ladies are more attractive, and everything they wear shows off better and that is why I am here to help people enhance their complexion. I used to be very dark; I never thought I could become as fair as I am. I did it because I want to practice what I preach. I want them to see me and be blown away, especially those who knew me when I was dark. Because what I’m giving people isn’t something that would damage their skin but repair their skin, I use it on myself as well. If I wasn’t in this line of business, I probably wouldn’t have toned my skin at all. I don’t call it bleaching. I call it skin restoration.”

talentarena: I have never flown first class in my life” – Silverbird Boss Ben Murray Bruce says
Chairman of Silverbird Group and Senator-Elect Mr. Ben Murray Bruce has revealed that he has never flown in first class before despite his wealth.
Speaking at the Man of the Year Award in Lagos last night, May 3, 2015, the Silverbird boss also said he has not stayed at an hotel over $300 per night. "I have never flown first class in my life. Our leaders must be accountable, I have never stayed in a hotel that’s more than 300 dollars a night, it doesn’t make sense to lodge in a 4000 dollar hotel, not because I can’t afford it, but because if I think of the masses" he said.
"I run a company and at the end of the month I have to make payroll, so I can’t justify it, our politicians must imbibe this attitude as well. Nigeria is too poor for our leaders to act like multi-billionaires, and Nigeria is too rich for our people to be poor" he further stated.

He challenged all politicians to stop flying private jets...at some point, I almost cried. I just couldn't help but ask myself, "How come Nigerian politicians don't think the way Mr Bruce thinks?"
I nearly stoop up to clap for him from my sitting room, but because my cousin would probably thinking I was going insane, I didn't. I was sooooo impressed with his speech and happy all night long.
In short, I doff my caf for Mr Bruce. I saw the passion for a better Nigeria burning in him last night. Well, he's been given the opportunity; I earnestly wish he doesn't disappoint his numerous admirers. |

SirChelseaAmb: 2. Partial Fuel Subsidy Removal The decision of the Goodluck Jonathan Presidency to withdraw the subsidy paid on crude oil and natural gas products was a brilliant one, but its timing was extremely ill-advised, hence the massive protests that greeted its announcement in 2012. Fuel subsidy is a price manipulation technique employed by the government to fix the pump price of petroleum products at certain amounts, irrespective of their actual market prices, in order to make them affordable for the average Nigerian. To compensate the retailers for their losses, the government pays them the difference between the fixed prices of the products and their actual prices as determined by market forces. Needless to say, this subsidy regime is not sustainable and it goes against the principles of capitalism which Nigeria practices. If fully implemented, the removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria will free up as much as $6 billion per annum, a sum that can be channelled into other sectors of the economy. But, the downsides of a rushed total fuel subsidy removal are numerous: an immediate spike in the pump price of petroleum products, transport fares and foodstuff; an increased spate of layoffs and business closures due to a rising cost of production; rising unemployment; an attendant deterioration in the standard of living of the average Nigerian; and civil unrest.
https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=756822227770836 Just for my own learning; please can you clarify and possibly quantify the partial subsidy removal you're talking about? |

chuna1985: Nah, that is not the case. The present government has long clarified everything about subsidy as far back as 2011, but Nigerians who feel that fuel should be 15 naira per litre started rioting/demonstrating.
Even the NLC is now saying "subsidy is scam" at the same time is also screaming that it has been removed.
There is nothing to defend.
There is nothing to discredit.
Point is that anyone who understands fuel subsidy in Nigeria will call for its end immediately. Supported! All these years of "subsidy" what has been the price range of PMS? There is an infinitesimal fraction of Nigerians enjoying the proceeds of the so-called subsidy. On the other hand, I do not understand this idea of blowing hot and cold by organized labour; they are already threatening fire and brimstone should the subsidy be removed. Who are these labour leaders really fighting for? |

Dragonking: Isaiah 4:1; And seven women shall take hold of one man in that day, saying, “We will eat our own bread and wear our own clothes, only let us be called by your name; take away our reproach.”
Do you have a better explanation for this verse above? If not , keep shut as it is already coming to pass. Ladies are now desperate to get married. Many lie and deceive the men just to get married. Go to church alone and see the high rate of unmarried women meeting the pastor to pray for them. Even at ur work place u will see them in abundance. The ratio of woman to man is about 11:1 in the world so what do you think will happen? Man was meant to be polygamous whether you like it or not and that prophecy will come to pass. You better prepare ursef I'm with you on this. We all need to face realities; I do not see why our laws cannot allow a man marry as many women as he can care for; recently the Kenyan Government passed a polygamy bill into law; I think they did it to address the subject matter (see link below). We want to imitate Europe in everything- "one man one wife". Look around you; is it working? No offense intended pls.
