soft-sell magazines may sometimes exaggerate or publish blantant falsehood but in this instance, they were right.it was not a reported story. Both parties granted these interviews and spilled the beans as it were.Subsequently, when they had reconciled, they granted a joint interview to say the whole thing was blown out of proportion by the press. In their separate interviews, they even showed the reporters texts messages from each other to the other.Frank even stated in his own interview that he had informed his wife that he was going to grant an interview to the press. For those who believe, it was made up by the press, endeavour to read the interviews first before you deny the story.it surprises me how people will believe the supposed rebuttal in City people but refuse to accept the interview in Encomium.By the way, city people aso published a story on their squabbles. While i don't really care to know about their marital squabbles, it should be noted that they brought it out in the open by the interviews they granted. And just in case there are people(and from the posts it does apear there are) who think celebrities are all nice and proper as they appear in Tvs and all, here is a reality check, they are not always prim and proper.they as much susceptible to human foibles as us normal folks. My grouse with the Edohos is not that they have marital squabbles but that they allowed what was purely their private life be published for all to read. And then there was the issue of beating up his wife.they may both deny it all they want but to the discerning, it is all medicine after death. |
For the record, Frank and Catherine granted separate interviews detailing their marital squabbles. So, this was not a case of a soft-sell magazine publishing rumours or hear-says in order to sell.If you had read the interviews, believe me, you would have been disapponited in the Edohos. They displayed crass immaturity in washing their dirty linen in public. Their subsequent joint interview(obviously after they had reconciled) only served to further confirm the veracity of the story. |
my fave are in the following order; Frasier -the most intellectual sit-com ever Seinfeld- truly a show about nothing.they don't make sit-coms like it anymore. Cheers-an all-time classic. Becker-can't sometimes believe ted danson played both becker and sam malone in cheers.the characters are so different.kudos to his acting talent. grounded for life-love eddie finnerty's constant homage to christopher walken. friends-joey and phoebe are so hilarious. according to jim-this just breaks me up. king of queens-love doug and his wife. everybody loves raymond-what else can i say? there are so many sit-coms that i love but can't remember.but suffice it to say, i prefer white sit-coms to black sit-coms.that's just me. |

Has anyone noticed how Nigerian journalists in the tabloid magazines(i.e city people and encomium)have evolved their own brand of english? if you are a regular reader as i am, you will notice what i'm talking bout.their english is so horrible you sometimes wonder if these guys went to school at all.then check out the lousy sets of questions they usually ask during interviews; "why are you not married?", who's the lucky man/woman?", when are you going to get married?", how do you handle women/men who are attracted to you?" it seems all of a sudden in Nigeria, the key questions to ask in interviews is why and when and who are you getting married to?Sad thing is, this sick display of utter illiteracy is not limited to just the tabloid magazines.you find this menace too in the so-called serious newspapers and magazines. Our journalists, both print and broadcast, display such ignorance of english language, it is disheartening. |
orikinla, please post the source of your news on the abducted soldiers. |
omo eko, nobody called you a liar or rumour-monger.we couldn't have even if we tried.you did that all by yourself! Guessing by your infantile postings, you must be a teenager(oops, i forgot thatr even teenagers won't be that childish).Kudos anyway for admitting you were wrong but then again, your infantile rantings after your apology just diminished your only redeeming feature. |
too bad we have people like omo eko on this forum.she is a cyber- forum disaster if ever there was one!such ignorance! |
seyi, where are you? i think omo eko should be sanctioned. To persist in sustaining such rumour even in the face of credible contradiction does injustice to this forum.she's not even in the country for christ's sake(assuming that's true i itself).Be sure of what you are saying before you post it.Wake up omo eko.the man is not dead.insisting on seeing his face on a live interview just shows how infantile you are. |

babyish attitude?im surprised.i think tom welling is perfectly cast as clark kent.what i find annoying is his on/off relationship with lana lane.i would much prefer for him to hook up with chloe or lois. yes, i like lex and lionel.but i believe lex is going to be more evil than lionel.after all said and done, lionel has a conscience but lex is going the way of darth vader, to the dark side.i like the way the series focuses on the story end of the superman saga rather than become a special effects fest.sure the special effects are cool but they are not the focus of the series. |

i finally got to see phat girls yesterday.is it just me or is that movie possibly one of the silliest movies ever made.it was not even a one-joke movie.it was an insufferably unfunny no-joke movie replete with tacky fashion, cliched stereotypes and pointless gags. I feel every Nigerian should feel insulted by the movie.i know i was. |
is anybody out therea fan of smallville? |
watch the lord of the rings trilogy back to back.it'ss one of the best movies ever made. |
The real problem with nollywood is not lack of hollywood-type budgets. Rather it is lousy scripts and terrible acting. Does anybody agree with me? |
i'm a huge fan of 24.i have seasons1-5 on dvd.season 6 will commence in january next year.chloe is one of my favourite characters on 24.i can't think of any other actor other than kiefer sutherland who could have played jack bauer better.kiefer was born to play jack bauer.i have always liked kiefer's performances in movies but my respect for him went up a notch when i saw(well, actually heard) him in phonebooth. some of my top memorable moments of 24 are as follows; 1. the death of ryan chapelle. 2. when george mason informs his estranged son that he is dying. 3. the assasination of david palmer. 4. the death of edgar. don't know if any other person shares my view, but i think dennis haysbert was perfectly cast as president david palmer.his performance as president is arguably the best by any actor in the role of the president of the united states of America. |
