AroleOduduwa: This is not about China...they all see and know the evil that Israel is and has been perpetuating in that region. Hence the vote against Israel. Meanwhile, did you know Nelson Mandela was very strongly anti-israel in her middle East policy especially against the Palestinians? 2 Likes |

Famocious: My friend, the answer is YES. Nigeria is rich enough to meet any demand whatsoever by the citizens. The corruption in high places, the incredulous salary allocated to politicians and lack of political will are the reasons we are in this sorry state as a nation. 1 Like |

gbolah1: I am sure you are a very well educated individual but alas i am surprised you are putting out misinformation and hogwash in a blatant careless way. All your arguments are baseless and unfounded; to say the least, absolutely myopic and ignorant. Do you realise the fact that whatever the governor is dong is part of his job description? His "work" should be his media release not by shouting on top of the roof with a gramophone. If i have to remind you, Ambode of Lagos state and Amosun of Ogun state are doing far better job than Ajimobi of Oyo state and do you want to know that i have not seen any propaganda media project on their work. So why should a media team be Ajimobi's succor if he has done very well. Let his "hand work" speak and people will judge him. Mind you, it is when a person is not equal to a position that he shouts "i have done this, i have done that". let the people that he governs speak for him and let his work make the people speak not his media propaganda team. Coming to the issue of Ibadan chieftaincy debacle. The governor has committed a grieve error of judgement. You don't wake up one day and scatter a century old tradition. It is sacrilegious. it is scandalous and unwarranted. This is a fiasco!!! You mentioned the Ijebus, Ekitis and Egbas as examples. It shows that you are bereft of the history and traditions of the Yoruba people and it is sad coming from a Yoruba man like yourself. For the records, the kings in Ijebuland and Ekitiland are stand alone Kings. They had been royalties from time immemorial. They had presided over stand alone towns or villages, as the case maybe, for centuries and their case is different from Ibadan's case. Iyin-Ekiti, Igede, Aramoko, Ado, Ifaki, Ido, Otun, Ijero, Aye, Usi, Emure, Ikere, Okemesi, Ekiti-isu, Ikole, Oye; all had had Kings for centuries and can trace their roots to Oduduwa. Vis-a-vis Ijebuland. THEY ARE NOT CONSTITUTIONAL MADE KINGS, THEY ARE PARAMOUNT RULERS!!! Egbaland has its own peculiarities. History and migration made 5 paramount kings to coalesce in Abeokuta. Those 5 kings are not constitutional kings, they are paramount rulers in Yoruba land. You also need to update your history. Alake is of Akeland and not of Egbaland. Infact if you need to know, Olowu of Owu is far ahead of Alake of Akeland in the hierachry of Yoruba kings. Like Senator Ajimobi is doing to the Ibadan chieftaincy now, that is what the British did to Abeokuta by elevation of a non-royal stool in the Yoruba land (Alake of Akeland) to the position of the paramount ruler of Egbaland. All the rest 4 kings in Abeokuta can trace their root to Oduduwa (one way or another) but Alake cannot because he is not! Elevation of High chiefs to Obaship has no place in Yorubaland and it is forbidden except in Ile-Ife in wish case it is allowed because of the ascension to the throne of Ooni by Oduduwa. Atleast they have towns where they head in Ile-Ife, where do these High chiefs in Ibadan head except their respective families (as Mogaji)? If the governor has elevated the Baales of the surrounding towns and villages in Ibadan to Obaship, that would have made a lot of common sense but doing the contrary is akin to thinking with once feet and moreover, looks like a politicised move and vendetta. Enough said and a word is enough for the wise! Thank you |
Health / Useful Health Hints For Nigerians by macIB(m): 12:42pm On May 29, 2017 |
From real life cases. Case number 1 Nigerian girl, gets sick, goes to pharmacist or chemist. Girl: I am having pain in my abdomen. Pharm/Chemist : is it serious? Girl - yes. Pharm- oya take these drugs. Girl goes home. Takes drugs. 3 days later pain is becoming more serious. Goes to the lab. Lab Scientist, collects blood, stool, and urine. After some hours. Lab Scientist: You have severe malaria, typhoid, hepatitis and worm. Oya take these drugs. Girl goes home and takes drugs. 3 days later she goes to school, during the first lecture she collapsses. They carry her to hospital. Doctor examines patient. She is paper white with distended abdomen. Doctor taps abdomen and gets blood. Calls parents. 'She has ruptured ectopic pregnancy'. They rush her to the theater and she survives by the whiskers. Case number 2. Nigerian girl feeling sick. Goes to chemist. I have pain in my lower abdomen. Chemist: since when? Girl: 5 days, but getting more serious. Chemist: when is your last menses. Girl: am on it now. Chemist: I see. You must be having menstrual pains. Oya take these drugs. Girl goes home, takes drugs. 5 days later, still having abdominal pains, now with fever and vomiting. Mother takes girl to the lab. Lab Scientist collects stool, urine and blood. Some hours later. Lab Scientist to mother: 'she has malaria and typhoid with hepatitis'. Scribbles prescription. 'Let her take these drugs'. 4 days later, girl cannot get off the bed. They rush her to the hospital. Doctor sees girl, requests ultrasound. Result - ruptured appendix. Girl rushed to the theater and survives after almost 3 weeks hospital stay. Case number 3. Boy having abdominal pain. Goes to chemist. Boy: I have pain in my stomach. Pharmacist: OK. Take these drugs. Boy goes home, takes drugs. Pain goes, resurfaces after 2 weeks, goes again, pharmacist gives more drugs, pain goes, appears again in three weeks with passage of dark stools. Boy goes to the lab. Lab Scientist collects blood, stool, and urine. After some time...... Lab Scientist: you have malaria, typhoid, hepatitis and ulcer. Scribbles some prescriptions. Boy goes home, takes drugs, feels better dark stool disappears. 3 weeks later boy vomits blood, rushed to the hospital. Doctor sees boy, requests for tests including ultrasound and endoscopy. Result: stomach cancer. Morals of the stories. 1. Lab Scientists, nurses and pharmacists are not doctors. They are not trained to diagnose and PRESCRIBE drugs. 2. Doctors should not be the last to be consulted when ill. Don't wait until the case becomes complicated. You may not just be saving your life, you could also be saving money from unnecessary tests and useless drugs. 3. If for any reason you take over the counter drugs and symptoms persist after 2 days, go see a doc. 4. If you are pregnant you have no business taking drugs not prescribed by a doctor. God bless |

Health / Re: Doctors In The House, How Much Exactly Are Consultants Paid? by macIB(m): 1:32pm On Apr 06, 2017 |
It depends on where you work but the range is btw 400k to 750k. Most FG of Nigeria hosp pay 600k and above e.g. FMC and teaching hospital and they are mostly in the middle belt and Northern Nigeria. Why is this so is because their CMDS are not corrupt like we have in the southern part of Nigeria. But note OAUTHC CMD is the only non-corrupt in the south of Nigeria. That man is a good man. Those that pay para-400k are mostly in the south and are mostly state govt and private medical schools. However the best paying private medical school is Babcock and it is around 550k (that is why the produce good medical students and good hospital care). Most Lagos State consultant earn 400k-450k per month. But in lagos they increase their pay via private practice so you hardly see them complain but you won't see them at their govt work often and this affect govt hosp patient care. So if u want to earn enough as a medical consultant with just 1 job, try and fine a work in a FG hosp most probably in the northern part of Nigeria. If you can combine 2 or 3 jobs you may want to remain anywhere. 3 Likes |

@OP so sorry about your situation but i can assure you it is not a bad one. you can still travel to the UK atleast when you did the not so legal sending your passport to nigeria, biometric was not in use. so you are somehow safe! Now what i think you should do is to find your way to the UK (legally pls) or you wait till your wife and child can get their papers sorted to be able to travel out of Europe or you get your papers and applications right and get to meet your family in one of those European countries where the shengen visa can get you to even if it is for 3 weeks. Pray about it and do the needful, legally, and i am sure you will see your family very very soon. All the best |
