Only players born on or after 1st of January 1997 will be eligible for the 2017 u20 world cup.. which means that we gonna have 5 players from the past set (Z. Bello, Awoniyi, Yahaya, Eze and Mathew) Icon4s: Yeah good observation. I am looking forward to U20 already. Where Taiwo Awoniyi,Musa Yahaya, Ifeanyi Mathew, Musa Mohamed, Akinjide Idowu, Dele Alampasu are still elligible (bringing in now there club professional experiences) Combine these players with d best from Amuneke's team and we will b more ready this time.
Jst like the 1985 & 87 Eaglets formed bulk of d players dat represented Nigeria at Saudi 89 U20 which to me are 1 of d best U20s we have produced. |

I really have huge respect for Manu but truth be told.. There must have been something that happened in camp that we don't know, after all he was the one that selected the squad.. coz from all logical reasoning angles. .Manu's decision to bench one of the most lethal attack (simon, success, kelechi and yahaya) in NZ is baffling till today.
We will know as time goes on what they are all covering.. coz the teams exit is as painful as that of SE 94 set and fans wont forget easily. |

AKPOSbaba: Messi has been caged in few occassions Dat doesnt stop his high grade talent.iheanacho still remains d biggest talent in d team.he even hit the woodwork and had one assist in d said Brazil match.the whole team had a poor second half.manu garba is just singling him out for blame to divert Nigerians attention from blaming him.na common sense. God forbid! I bet u if Nigeria get knock out from d tournament, dats wen football fanatics, commentators like Ikpeba,Oliseh etc will be saying he is a useless coach.why was he benching Nacho in d first place?everybody seems to be carried away with their victories. Germany will field their highest/strongest stars against us while we keep ours on the bench... I like Manu and all but I hope he is right again by benching all these guys against Germany (a knockout game). Anyway whatever the outcome, still gonna be following this team. |

Icon4s: Bulbwa kept Iheanacho on d bench -during 2013 CAF U17 Qualifiers -And also during d 2013 CAF U17 Championship -Iheanacho got his first appearance in d tourney in d 1-0 lose to CIV when he came in as a 2nd half sub for d less than impressive Bulbwa. -Iheanacho started in d 3rd game against Congo and d sebsequent semi and final game. -Iheanacho scored 4goals in d 3games he played -Bulbwa failed d MRI before d FIFA U17 WC and nacho pined down d shirt. -Fast forward to U20 & Bulbwa is back keeping Iheanacho on d bench during d AYC qualifiers. -Mancity did nt release Iheanacho for d AYC and Bulbwa pined down d shirt. -Now dey are both in d team and Bulbwa is benching Iheanacho again.
Does this nt mean dat Bulbwa is more useful to d team dan Iheanacho? I didn’t miss a sec of the 2013 CAF U-17 championship. It’s true that Bulbwa was benching Iheanacho back then but during that competition Bulbwa was very wasteful in front of goal. No disrespect to Bulbwa’s skills, ability to dribble and run with the ball but the below attributes will make me pick Iheanacho over Bulbwa currently: - Higher conversion rate in terms of goal scoring which means we can score more of the chances created. - Sharp eyes for goal - Forward minded and Less dribbling (mostly interchanging of passes), attack moved faster. - Combines well with other attackers (Awoniyi's combination with Iheanacho at U.A.E 2013 was like that of siamese twins). Bulbwa can always come into the game to waste time just like Mikel does for Chelsea. |

joseph1013: Man City Website Tips Iheanacho For Senior Squad
https://static.pulse.ng/img/incoming/crop3832860/6042788160-chorizontal-w644/Kelechi-Iheanacho.jpg
The strongest indication yet has emerged that Nigerian youngster Kelechi Iheanacho will play with Manchester City’s senior squad next season.
The Flying Eagles forward has not lit up the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup as expected, but he did enough with City’s U-21s last season to impress Manuel Pellegrini.
Having been tipped by the Manchester Evening News and the Telegraph as a potential member of the senior squad next season, Iheanacho has now got the backing of the club’s official website, mcfc.com.
In an ongoing daily trivia of alphabets regarding City players past, present and future, Iheanacho was one of three players featured on Tuesday on the website, along with Stephen Ireland and Eike Immel, both former City stars.
Here is how the website describes Iheanacho under the heading ‘I is for Iheanacho’: “One of the brightest prospects to emerge from African youth football in recent times, Kelechi Iheanacho is expected to break into the senior side at some point in the coming season.
“A product of the Taye Academy in Nigeria, Kelechi had to wait for his City EDS (Elite Development Squad) debut after awaiting international clearance to play and then promptly picked up an injury just five minutes into his first match for the Blues!
“He showed flashes of his talent on last year's summer tour of the US and scored a cracker against Manchester United towards the end of the 2014/15 EDS campaign before jetting off to play in the Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand – definitely one to watch out for.”
Below the description, the website adds a video of Iheanacho’s highlights from last year’s pre-season tour, in which he stood out even in the presence of several senior stars.
COMPLETESPORTS Still finding it strange that he sits on the bench while Bulbwa plays. plus he was played in the wrong position against Brazil. just for the simple fact that he wears "10" doesn't mean he is a midfielder (he is an attacker) . #Manuknowsbest |

EagleScribes: And where will you place Bulbwa? It seems many did not recognize him today Bulbwa tried but spent too much time on the ball thereby killing counter attack moves. He shouldn't do a lot of running with the ball but instead allow the ball move in a tip-tap style (3 passes would have done the job), honestly prefer Iheanacho/Yahaya to Bulbwa. |

thegoodjoehunt3: Why should he do that? He explained that our strength lies in our counter attacks and Nacho is faster than Godwin. Godwin should come in as a Sub but Nacho will bring in more pace to the attack. "Nacho will bring in more pace and accuracy to the attack" I don't see him missing so many chances |

Xlad: My preferred starting 11.
....................................Enaholo...........................................
.......Musa...........Ndidi..................Bello...............Mustapha......
......................................Idowu............................................
........................................................ ....Ifeanyi...................... ........................Sokari...........................................................
.......Iheanacho....................................................................... .............................................................................Yahaya....
.....................................Success...........................................
Sub: 60-65mins.. Yahaya ⇌ Saviour 69-73mins.. Iheanacho ⇌ Awoniyi ( Success will now play as a winger) 75-80mins.. Success ⇌ Moses/Bulbwa
Hungary is a team that will like to hit us hard with counter attack because what they will have in mind is to play a goalless draw with us.. Ifeanyi and idowu are defensively minded players so i think it will be hard for Hungary to achieve their plans but the coach needs to tell both the winger and ifeanyi to help mustapha. Only him playing as defender, mid-fielder and winger same time is not good and again, he should stop being in a hurry to attack. His no.1 duty is to defend and not to attack likewise musa. Ifeanyi is improving more especially his long range passes but he must avoid silly mistakes. Sokari from his game so far is not that much a counter attack minded midfielder. He is a wonderful midfielder that will always be controlling the tempo of the game, slowing it down when needed. Iheanacho contributed more offensively in the game he played than bulbwa. He gave an assist and also hit the bar. The only problem with him is that he is not contributing defensively but i think after the snub by Manu, he will up his overall contribution. Moreover he is very very good when it comes to counter attack than Bulbwa. Saviour is that type of player that always tries to dribble and score.. His effort will be needed much during 2nd-half so starting yahaya will be better cause he is not that selfish with the ball and is very good in assisting. When it comes to confidence and composure in front of the goalpost at this current stage, mehn, Success is still ahead of Awoniyi. i'm a strong fan of Awoniyi but mehn, Success got two opportunities and scored with it while awoniyi missed atleast 4 chances. We can't gamble in-front of goals. Any opportunity we get must be converted to a goal; so starting Success will be more okay than starting Awoniyi moreover he is faster than Awoniyi. Awoniyi can come in during 2nd-half and do what he does best(assisting).
I was discussing with my university football coach about this tournament although his country didn't qualify and i didn't know the man is even following everything and the man told me he is yet to miss a nigerian match. He told me clear that when it comes to quick counter attack, so far in New Zealand, that Nigeria is the most dangerous because when they are on counter attack just a maximum of 4 passes will result to a goal. He was like saying our first and second goals against brazil was after two and three passes where interchanged respectively while our second goal against N.Korea involved only a single pass. that the possibility of nigerian counter attack resulting to a goal is 90% which is even more better than the germanys and portuguess.
Goodluck F.E Goal go plenty with this line up |

EagleScribes: As things stand, we cannot afford to lose our match against Hungary. The slots for best 3rd best placed teams are keenly contested for.
As for those clamouring for a draw, have it in mind that we are made to win. He that aims at the stars will shoot higher than he that aims at the tree 2nded, Manu will play only for a win. Can't wait to see the lineup |
