Jenykech: I just remembered another question, did they ask for your bank statement at the airport or something to show your proof of funds? No.. None of that. No request for POF. I'd even used 40pct of it or so. So I'm glad they didn't even ask 😂 |

Jenykech: Congratulations!!! Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed reading. I hope Canada favors you.
Few questions; did you book your flight before you got your copr, I mean after PPR? Or you waited till your passport was stamped?
Also, how long did it take for VFS to return your passport after submitting? Thanks... I'm glad you did. Amen! I booked my flight after my study visa was approved, yes that was before COPr and even before ITA A total of 4 weeks I believe for the passport to return to Lagos and two weeks to get it to my location using their "in house courier " |

Landing Gist! Started my whole journey 2021. In 2022 I was denied student visa, Feb 2023 my new student Visa got Approved & in May 2023 PR. It's been a while I saw one here, so I felt to share mine. Left Lagos on Friday. Travelled with Lufthansa Airlines. I got to the airport by 9.30pm when my flight was for 12.40am I felt I had time only for me to be told checking is closed! if not for the fact my mum was with me 'you know African mothers' I'd definitely not be checked in as they weren't gonna listen to nothing. I had 2 baggage 25kg,24kg , an additional one I paid for 25kg. A carry on bag 8kg, a school bag 4kg all checked and tagged. Our flight was then delayed extra due to whatever excuse they gave but we later took off almost 2am. The flight to Frankfurt was smooth, our pilot didn't eat clouds unlike Nigerian local flights They served us meal everyone around me went for 'chicken' I went for 'pasta' only to realise they got jollof rice while I was given some white stuff with red oil looking stuff. Apparently it was vegetarian pasta. I don't even want to remember the food sef. Frankfurt airport is huge!!! Very neat & orderly. The washrooms are very clean. I saw so many whites on at my connecting flight I felt like i was the only other black person until I saw a Nigerian family. My flight left on time this time and we landed in Vancouver 24hrs after my first flight took off. I went ahead to the self declaration portal like everyone else. I was just following what people were doing lol. After that I got my receipt and was directed to immigrations. We all stood on a line. All new immigrants. When we got to the door the students were asked due introduction letter while I was asked for my COPR. It was all fairly easy. No long talk, super nice people. They asked basic questions, a lady put me thru the things I'll do next, gave me leaflets & She collected my address for the PR card. I was directed to the border security. He collected my COPR, asked basic questions, asked me to sign and gave me a copy of the COPR. He was super helpful and nice. Finally I picked up my luggage and headed for the exit of the airport. As I reached outside cold wipe me . 22° and I'm thinking it's cold lmao.. Can't wait for the winter. My sibling picked me up and we went back to her place... Beautiful buildings and roads everywhere, no littering, no loitering, fine people everywhere you turn to. The Journey has been long, but I thank God I arrived here at long last Everyone's opinion & view differs.. But I'm enjoying Canada much more than I thought I would. If you're in BC. Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Langley, Burnaby area definitely reach out won't be bad making new friends. Also if you have eligible single ladies send them my way too. Pic 1. My food Pic 2. Trip Pic 3. Ride in my town Pic 4. 9pm at night, 5am in the morning. Usually like this lol

Viking07: Oh! I didn’t see that part. I’m also going to apply for it next week. I’d advise you do it yourself. My FRSC plug said it can’t be influenced. But then again in Nigeria everything is possible. just so you are aware.. There's backlog on the whole process. March or April I think. So if you don't use a plug, be ready to wait a very long time |

Andyosifo: This might be a deviation from the main topic. Please, has any one done their Drivers Abstract this year? If any, how long did it take from the time of application to the abstract being issued. I have applied since January, and they're still telling me stories They want you to pay for it.. That's just the bitter truth. The stuff is not hard to produce, they just make it seem so |

Dolzz: Thanks! Should he submit to Lagos VFS or Accra or Nairobi? I heard Lagos VFS takes 6-8 weeks to send back the stamped passport. it's up to him to decide. I'll advice you use Lagos though. He can pick up in person without having to pay high courier return services. Accra can take 3 to 6 weeks |

Dolzz: Hi folks. I’m in shock. My brother’s PR application was approved in one and a half months. God is good. He applied May 20. Received ready for visa email on July 5. Now to submit passport, he was told that the earliest date he can get in Lagos is July 31. Are there any other options he can explore? I’ve read through the FAQ on page 1 but couldn’t find the necessary information. Thanks! Congrats! he should submit his passport and other accompanying documents through DHL or UPS. |

VFS charging almost 31k (by force) to send your passport over to you is just exploitation!! Customer support telling me either I come to pick it (2hrs window) or I pay for them to use UPS which by the way is even slower than DHL. My two way courier that I paid for isn't acknowledged. They won't give it to DHL. They also won't allow any proxy to collect.. Same passport i used 6k to send over to them is what they are charging 5 times increment |

temiloba: Pls can you explain this? I know one could submit and receive passport with DHL as at January this year. Are you saying VFS no longer allows DHL to do so? You can send your passport through DHL to VFS. But to get it back VFS is not releasing the passport to DHL. It's either you use VFS courier service or come collect it in person. |

They've also reviewed their price. So do one way. They won't answer you even if you do the 2 way until you either come walk in or use their courier services |

Adexchelsea19: So you mean those who have submitted before June 15 and their eligibility check hasn’t started means automatic rejection if the money doesn’t meet up with the new rate? No that isn't true! The rate at the date you submitted is what would be used to quantify. "Unless there's a drastic change" . This is according to IRCC. What counts as a drastic change is now up to IRCC. |
