Good day everyone. Please does anyone know how long it takes to get passport back from VFS after PPR submission?

I submitted 2 weeks ago (22 May). I got an email on 24th telling me it had gotten to Ghana Visa Office and that it had been forwarded to IRCC office. But I haven't heard anything since.

Should I be worried?

It got to Accra quite fast.. It should take up to 15 days tops before you get next notification. Everything will get done within a day after that notification & it'll be sent back to Lagos.. Just be patient. Two weeks from now you should have it back

Yes, that's where it'll go. VFS Lagos will send your passport to Abuja for the actual visa.
This is why most people prefer sending directly to Abuja. It takes out the middle man which in this case is the branch in Lagos.

You can do it after applying, before the medical test is requested for.. I don't even think you can do it before applying. How will it be linked to your profile when it's sent to IRCC?

Now, I have got a question. Do I need to pay for Package Transmission Service Charge when submitting my passport via courier to the VAC? Note I did my biometric at the same VAC...

To be clear. If you had your biometrics in for eg Lagos and you're sending your passport to same Lagos you don't need to pay Transmission charge. It's only required when you're sending to a different VAC..

But since one can apply every 90 days I think it's worth trying.

I got my COPR and counterfoil yesterday. I had submitted my passport to the Lagos VFS on the 21st of March and got pickup email on the 25th of April. Passport and COPR were both processed in Accra (Lagos automatically sends there at no extra cost for now cos they don’t have stamps).

Has anyone gotten PTA recently from their bank? The only bank I have the minimum of 6 months banking history with is Stanbic and their limit has been reduced to $2k which is painful. I applied for PTA this morning and I still put $4k as the amount I need. I’ll see how it goes. A bit of a mischievous question: can we apply for PTA at multiple banks? Would one bank know if another bank has approved your PTA application? My husband has two main bank accounts with 2 banks and I was thinking he should apply with both.

My passport arrived from Lagos VFS today through DHL. It Took 2weeks & 2 days from the day I submitted to the day I got it back.

what you posted is for a single room. Family of 5 have to rent a full house not rooms. Rent has gone up this past year. 2bed is around 1300 to 1600 now.

That, 1300 is almost not enough to get a good 1 bed in BC sadly...

Update.
Sent to Lagos 29th March. It should have been ready if not for the Good Friday holiday. But they told me today it's ready.
I met with my local DHL I was told VFS will need to take it to an office in Lagos. I contacted VFS Lagos they said its DHL that'll come pick up. They've been waiting for them lol.

I'll disturb the DHL sha. Cos I believe they should be the one to pick it.
I'll let you know as that goes.

I was surprised Lagos didn't even take 12 days. With the way people castigated it for being so slow.

Yes you would.. Why wouldn't you? Housing in Calgary is also not so expensive. You should get at 850CAD upwards.

Hmm... I'll see how mine goes sha. Their (VFS) fee is too ridiculous. I'll rather send a family member in Lagos to go collect it on my behalf and give it to DHL if they won't give DHL directly. I'm not paying them any 18k

Sent it to lagos. It's currently with VFS at the moment. I wasn't told how long it would take, but DHL told me they'll get it for me.

You could have used another branch

I submitted new bank statements. It was even my sisters account. But the money in it wasn't even sufficient & definitely lower than my initial application.
When I deferred to September 2023 I was given a new LOA. Those are the things I know were updated/changed from the old application. along side the letter I got from work as home ties
