good question. But I still think things won't work out because this is not her extended family but her mother and mothers in my opinion are important in a relationship esp. one that leads to marriage.

Since when ? political candidates are always first to show and prove how perfect their family life is.

We hear of obama as the "family man" how many times have we seen him in the media/press with his daughters. I don't hear him saying then and there "that his daughters should not be in the public eye"

In fact, there was a news interview of him that discussed explicitly about his family life.

Bush: before we heard that his daughters were drunkards, they too were involved in their fathers campaign, so was the clintons, and others.

Its not until now that I'm hearing that family should not be involved in politics or vice versa
