Doesn't sounds well to me in Hierarchy.
Airforce should come b4 Navy.

Regardless of how it sounds, that is the practice from time immemorial. Even from their dates of establishments, the army came into force first, followed by the Navy and then the Air Force.

Why should Chief of Air staff be the lowest is what I don't understand

Infact I think, Chief of Army and Airforce should be the same level.
Airforce is a powerful unit of a country.

Cc: legalwolf

They are all of the same rank. They are equivalent in rank but in order of military hierarchy, Army comes first, Navy follows then the Air Force.
This is same practice in every other country.

Always look out for events where all the service chiefs including the chief of Defense Staff are present and take a critical look at their standing or sitting positions. Also note when they have meetings with the President, the Minister of defense takes his seat, the Chief of defense staff sits next, followed by the Chief of Army Staff, Navy and then Air Force.

The chief of air staff is an Air marshal

Air vice marshal is equivalent to major General in the army and rear admiral in the navy
.

Thanks for the observation. I have corrected it.

NA is an army of confusion and ethnic division.

NN is the only Navy that has non-coastal dwellers as a majority.

NAF still predominantly a Benue state affairs and manpower level.

Why is there not a uniform Merit based selection for Officers?

Lol. We all know how things work in Nigeria. Everything is politicized.
Politics / The Service Chiefs And The Military Hierarchy by Magic1: 10:35am On Aug 14, 2021
The Nigerian Army comes first in the Military hierarchy, followed by the Navy and then the Air Force.

In attending military and/or political functions, the pattern of arrival is based on the military hierarchy where the lowest service Chief (Air Chief) arrives first, then the Naval Chief, followed by the Army Chief before the big one, the Chief of Defense Staff.

These Chiefs (Army, Navy and Airforce) are all of the same rank though different nomenclatures and insignias. The Army Chief is usually a Lieutenant General, the Naval Chief is a Vice Admiral while the Air Chief is an Air Marshal. They are all three (3) star generals except the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) who is a full general (4 star) that is if he is an Army Officer. If the CDS is drawn from the Navy, he is an Admiral while from the Air Force, he is an Air Marshal.
They (the service chiefs and CDS) are decorated with these ranks upon appointment by the President and confirmation from the National Assembly.

These stars are attached to the collars of their camouflage in the event that they appear in the unified military camouflage while the insignia of their ranks appears in front of their camouflage, somewhere around the chest but in the event where they appear in their respective service uniforms, their ranks are worn on their shoulders with the “red” emblem fixed to their collars.

The President is the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and he can wear any of the service uniforms if he likes to commemorate with the particular military service he attends their event and he wears the unified camouflage especially in the event where he visits soldiers in war front or in areas of civil unrest. He wears the five (5) general insignia on the collar of the camouflage.

The President reserves the exclusive right to appoint and fire as he desires especially if he deems the service chiefs as non performing.

What is that business you regretted investing in and will advise someone NEVER to engage in?

At childhood we all have that dream career we wished and aspired to become at adulthood.

Some of us wanted to become a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, radiologist, surgeon, engineer, banker, economist, agriculturist, politician, pilot, journalist, athlete, pastor, fashion designer, educationist, scientist, a soldier, navy, airforce, e.t.c.

As for me my childhood dream career was to become a PILOT but today am an ECONOMIST.

What about you?

Same here. I thought of being a pilot but today, I’m Economist.

Car Talk / My 2004 Toyota Camry V6 Drags At High Temperature. by Magic1: 12:02pm On Mar 11, 2021
I’ll keep it simple and short. My car drags mostly in the afternoons whereas it runs smoothly in the mornings and evenings.
Once afternoon comes, smooth ride and proper transmission becomes a big problem. Sometimes when this happens during rides, I quickly put off the engine, start the car again almost immediately and I have noticed it runs normal but for a short while before the usual drag kicks in again.
I have also noticed it causes some mild overheating whereas there’s no trace of water leaks or drops.

Just yesterday, I changed gearbox oil filter and fresh Oando ATF but the issue is still there.

Please share your experience and possible solution. My mechanic is out of idea and I wouldn’t want him to gamble.

Mods, please help move to front page.

Two years anniversary and an 8-month old baby.
Members of the Asosciation of Womb Watchers (AWW) have already calculated their Period of waste.

P.O.W is derived by the formula; z - (x + y)

Where;
z = months in marriage
x = gestation period
y = age of baby in months.

Therefore
= 24 - ( 9 + 8 )
= 7 months of idleness.

According to our calendar for newly weds, though slightly behind schedule; they are doing fine.
