I started dating my boyfriend months ago and even before we started dating we've been good friends. He is intelligent, funny, has a great personality and takes good care of me. When he asked me to be his girlfriend I was so happy, because he is such a great guy. My boyfriend is in his final year in the same university that I attend. I'm still in my second year.

There is this guy in my department who is very good looking and also intelligent. He isn't jovial and extroverted like my boyfriend, but he is cool in a very confident and attractive kind of way. We started talking recently and he told me he finds me attractive. I told him that I have a boyfriend and he didn't seem fazed and never talked about the subject of my relationship. He still complimented my body and looks from time to time even though I didn't respond to his compliments in a way that indicated that I was in support of his actions.

During this covid-19 break we began talking more often over the phone and through texts and I always found our conversations interesting. A lot of times we'd talk till midnight. He is very witty and creative with words and I always smile whenever I see his texts or receive his calls.

Few weeks ago we talked about sexual fetishes and I realized we both had similar fetishes. This made him even more interesting because I found myself able to talk about stuff I hadn't talked about with anyone before, not even my boyfriend. This guy is not like anyone I've ever met before. His views on life are very unique and original and his personality is so complex and his sexuality is very intriguing.

The problem now is that I am beginning to develop strong feelings for this guy. When he calls me on the phone I don't wish the call to end. I find myself talking to him for minutes not minding the time. He is beginning to occupy my thoughts a lot and I don't know what to do. I still love my boyfriend but there is something about this guy that just seems to draw me to him.

I don't want to do anything that will break my boyfriend's heart.

Racism: Serena Williams’ Husband Quits Reddit Board, Seeks Black Replacement

Co-founder of Reddit, Alexis Ohanian has resigned as a member of the board of directors, asking the global forum to replace him with a black candidate.

Ohanian who is the husband of an American professional tennis player, Serena Williams, made his decision known in a post he shared on Instagram.

Ohanian’s decision comes at a time when there is uproar in the United States after a white cop, Derek Chauvin killed a black man, George Floyd.

According to Ohanian, his decision is to be able to answer his black daughter when she asks: “What did you do?”

Glasses doesn't fix your vision. it only aids the vision, moreover at times, myopia gets worse till the individual gets to a particular age, then it begins to stabilise.

Go and see ophthalmologist for eye examination so they can give you your ideal glasses prescription, you are probably using a wrong prescription at the moment. You can also use the opportunity to do a full eye exam, check your eye pressure, glaucoma screening, etc.

He needs to see an Optometrist rather than an ophthalmologist.

Nairaland has helped lots of people find solution to their problem, I hope I'm as lucky as others.

Over the last couple of years I noticed my vision declining everyday.
I think I started taking notice of it more when I was In 100l, if I don't sit right in front of the class, I don't see whatever is written on the board.

I have gone to the hospital where they were just interested in selling recommended glass which I have used up till now that I have graduated but no visible improvement.

It is so bad that I don't see subtitles when watching movies on TV.

Many times, people pass and wave at me from afar and I will see the person waving but the face will be blurry.

But when reading, I don't use glasses because I can see very well no matter how Tiny the writing may be.

Whereas I can see Ghana from Lagos without my glasses yet I can’t read your post without glasses.

I run backward in the same direction and when I run, I don’t jump. Nothing sucks me down.

Like I said earlier, all these happened back then mostly when I was in the University and it was a reoccurring event, night after night.

I experienced stuffs like this sometime ago. Mine was really disturbing then. I had dreams of different nature and at times I would wake up with serious fear.
I once dreamt that I was in a bus with my coursemates and I started stooling in the bus. I also had dreams of people and animals chasing me.
There was this dream I dreamt of a lion chasing a girl, I saw this lion and I hid somewhere. This lion stopped chasing the girl, came to where I was and.....that was when I realized that those dreams weren't normal
It was through prayers that I got the strength to face my pursuers in my dream and we fought till I dominated them and till date I have not witnessed dreams like that again.

Thanks to God for being able to overcome. Mine was really freighting as it occurred almost every night.

I have heard people talk about their experiences on sleep paralysis. I have also experienced it severally especially when I was much younger and mostly when I was in the University.

This thread basically is on weird dreams, especially when someone is being chased in dream and possible ways of out running your chasers.

This also happened frequently to me when I was much younger.

Virtually every night, I realized I was often chased in the dream, I find myself running for my life and my chasers always carries dangerous weapons though they had NEVER EVER caught up with me. The major problem is that they are always right behind me even as I struggle to run faster, it appears something is either pulling me back or my legs were tied up but my victory comes immediately I decide to run in the same direction by this time, facing the enemy and running backward. Once I do this, I realized that I am maintaining considerable distance from the chaser.

It had always worked for me I usually outrun whoever was chasing me. What baffles me then was why I couldn’t run normal but eventually gain speed once I face the enemy and run backward.

Has anyone faced such presently or in the past?

We Don’t Know The Whereabouts Of 15 Chinese Doctors Who Visited The Country – Nigerian Govt

Nigerian Government can’t explain the whereabouts of the 15 Chinese medical team.

Nigeria’s Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire said his ministry cannot always explain the whereabouts of 15 Chinese medical team, who recently came into the country to “help in the fight against coronavirus”.

KanyiDaily recalls that on April 8, 2020, a Chinese medical team arrived the country with medical supplies to help the Nigerian Government fight against Coronavirus.

Following their arrival, Ehanire disclosed that the Federal Government had sent the 15 Chinese doctors to 14 days Isolation before carrying out any support.

However, when asked about the whereabouts of the Chinese doctors on Thursday, May 14, Ehanire said he can’t explain what happened to them or where they are.

Speaking during the daily COVID-19 Presidential Task Force briefing, Ehanire said not all of the Chinese visitors earlier announced as medics have something to do with the medical profession.

According to him, the 15 Chinese were not guests of the Nigerian Government but of the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC).

“I want to explain that first of all,I think not all of them are doctors and I heard that some of them are technicians but they are staff of CCECC.

“The ministry of health is not their host, so we can’t always explain what happened to them or where they are,” the minster said.

“There seem to be a lot of interest in these doctors but they are a staff of a company. I’d be very happy if you don’t ask me where they are.

“They are not really our guests in that sense but we have been able to learn somethings from them, we shared ideas of what they did in their country in managing COVID-19,” he said.

North Korea’s Supreme Leader, Kim Jong-un may have faked his own death to expose those who want to take power from him, an expert on North Korea affairs has claimed.

The dictator had disappeared for 20 days fueling speculations that he had died during or from complications of alleged botched heart surgery.

But on Friday, May 1, he made a surprise appearance at the opening of a fertilizer plant, after missing an important national event, the celebration of his grandfather’s birthday on April 15.

James Morrow, Sky News Australia reporter claimed that Kim Jong-un deliberately disappeared so that it looked as if he had died.

By doing that, James said that Kim Jong-un wanted to know how the elites in the country would react in the event of his actual death. He also wanted to know the traitors in his inner circle who are eyeing his seat of power.

“What has probably gone on here is that the rumors of his demise were greatly exaggerated,” James said as reported by Daily Star.

“He decided to do this, lay low, and see how things broke power-wise, and see who tried to take power in the event of his actual demise.”

James stated that the country may witness some high profile executions in the coming days as some names of potential replacements were mentioned when it was believed the dictator was dead, including Kim’s sister Kim Yo-jong.

“I suspect we will see some purges in North Korea pretty soon,” he said.

Professor Natasha Lindstaedt from the University of Essex echoed this view, warning Kim could unleash a wave of gruesome public executions to crush dissent, and those who may likely take power from him, Daily Star reports.

In a related event, gunshots were exchanged a few days ago at the Demilitarized Zone between North Korea and South Korea. The shots were first fired from the North Korea’s side and it hit a guard post in the South Korea.

The Central Bank of Nigeria may have sent out a clear indication that it will reduce the savings account deposit rate to 1%. This is based on an excerpt from the Highlights of the Bankers Committee Feedback cited by Nairametrics.

“Rates on Savings account to be reduced to near 1%. CBN advice in this regard to be expected soon.”

On OMO: The central bank also declared that the Open Market Operations (OMO) “has now become POISON as against HONEY that it used to be. Banks are enjoined to remove its eyes from OMO and play responsibly.”

The highlight of this bankers committee report (if true) contains some of the harshest motives, actions, and pronouncements of the CBN as it continues to implement its heterodox policies aimed primarily at defending the naira. Nairametrics has not been able to verify the source or authenticity of the purported highlights.

Last October the central bank restricted OMO directed all banks to exclude individuals and local corporates from investing in Open Market Operations (OMO) auctions with effect from October 23, 2019.

In a circular signed by Director, Financial Markets Department, CBN, Angela Sere-Ejembi, and cited by Nairametrics, the banker insisted that participation of the financial institutions at the auction should be on the proprietary and non-proprietary basis, without the participation of the investors mentioned above.

CBN has in recent weeks dished out policy pronouncements aimed at curbing the negative effects of its OMO policy. In recent weeks it has restricted the participation of banks in the primary OMO market declaring itself a liquidity provider. In a circular released last year, the apex bank also declared that it would provide liquidity (buyback bills) for OMO bills in the event that foreign investors (its primary targets) wish to sell.

What this means: The CBN wants banks to continue to lend money to the retail and SME’s rather than direct most of their funds in risk-free securities like OMO. It believes if banks lend more then that could stimulate growth while reducing money supply and subsequently inflation rate. It is thus likely that the CBN could also increase the bank’s LDR to 70% which is its likely preferred targets. This move could backfire as it is likely to spook foreign investors who may now face a secondary OMO market that will only be financed by the CBN.

On Savings Deposits: Since then, deposit rates have crashed to as low as 3% while the much sought after treasury bills rate now trade for as low as 5% from about 10% earlier on the year. Thus the CBN’s statement that it will reduce savings rate to 1% is further indication that ordinary Nigerians may face negative real returns on interest rates for some time as the CBN continues with its Heteredox policies.

What this means: With Nigeria’s inflation rate at 12.13% any money left as savings deposit will be eroded at the rates you get (1%) is far less than the inflation rate of 12.13%. The message here is that the CBN wants to bring down the lending rate in the hope that it will drive down the inflation rate. We suggest Investors get their money into investment options that can yield returns about the inflation rate or at least higher than the 3% currently being offered.

On devaluation, the CBN also said (as it has always maintained) that “it will defend the Naira proactively. All those awaiting devaluation will wait in vain.” Foreign investors have remained on the sidelines for months speculating that a devaluation of the naira was inevitable considering some of the latest macroeconomic indicators leaning in that direction. For example, Nigeria’s current account deficit ballooned to $9 billion at the end of the 3rd quarter of 2019 while the external reserves have dropped to $37 billion. The exchange rate has also remained at about $1/N360 for about 3 years one of the longest periods of stability seen in recent times.

On Merchant Banks: The highlight also indicates the CBN is planning to increase the CRR for Merchant Banks from 2% to 27.5%. It declared that “any merchant bank that can’t cope should surrender their license and opt for commercial banking license.” As of November 2019, Merchant Banks lending to the Private Sector was about N298 billion while its deposits were around N344.3 billion.
