Nairaland GeneralRe: Suggestion: Why Not Make Nl Colors Green And White, Nigeria's Colors? by Magz(op): 3:48pm On Feb 14, 2010
Dosn't make sense??

Why? USA forum would be red, white blue. The Jamaican forums are Black, Gold and Green. Etc etc,

W/e tho, was just an idea.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Why Are Some Nairalanders Frustrated? by Magz(m): 3:38pm On Feb 14, 2010
Well, I think it is probably due to the diminishing quality of the content here on Nairaland. What I mean is that, at one point, NL was such a cool forum with such a good dedicated following of users, and it was actually fun and interesting to come on here. However, over time the site has changed much, and the posts that I see personally (especially up in the romance section) just get sillier and sillier to the point where the whole effing board is sometimes just overrun with nonsense.

Maybe that bes the reason. Hundoh?

Description of the flag

According to Pedersen in "The International Flag Book in Color" (English Edition, 1971) the Nigerian National and Merchant Flag and Jack was "Chosen in 1959 from among 2870 suggestions in a competition; it was designed by a student from Ibadan, Michael Taiwo Akinkunmi. The green panels represent agriculture; the white, peace and unity." In "Flags Through the Ages and Across the World" by Whitney Smith, 1975, this flag was first officially hoisted 1 October, 1960, Nigeria's date of independence. So the flag that was adopted in 1959 didn't become the official flag of the country until Nigeria became an official country on 1 October 1960.
Nick Artimovich, 5 February 1996

The Nigerian national flag is green, under with standard No. BF of 1955 it is chart 0-0-10, under The British Colour Council it is classified as CC104-CC105, and under SILOR international color chart is classified as 193-173 (Source: Federal Ministry of Information).
Nairaland GeneralSuggestion: Why Not Make Nl Colors Green And White, Nigeria's Colors? by Magz(op): 11:35am On Feb 13, 2010
IDK. . . Like I love NL, but I was wondering, why is the forum blue and white? I was thinking that maybe it should be green and white instead to reflect Nigeria's colors,  You know?

Just a thought and suggestion.

We Chinese Malaysians have been treated like slaves as well and even now, we get treated unfairly because of our race but if I were to see it, I am angry but I dont hate or show angry signs because you know why?
Trust me, it's NOT the same.

And are A A people these days still being treated as slaves or they remember what people has done to their ancestors?
A combination of both really. I would go into this further, but I don't feel like writing a master thesis on a message board. The book is a worthy read though, if you have any interest in Black culture. . .

I've met many angry Black women.

I've also met many peaceful, sweetheartish Black women.

I've met angry White women, Happy Lation Men, and Melancholy Mulato Women.

I've met depressed White Men, and noble Black Men.

RomanceRe: Angry Black Woman - Fact Or Myth? by Magz(m): 2:48am On Dec 17, 2009
@ Gabry,  . Firstly, read the book before you judge the validity of the theory. I have studied this extensively everyday for several years, and I assure you that it is real. Furthermore, understand that Antoine Fischer also displayed MANY symptoms of Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome. So did his foster siblings, his forster mom, and other characters in his life story. It is not to say that people cannot succeed or overcome the syndrome and achieve true happiness, but the theory is simply that some of (or alot of) the basis of the behaviors in people (namely "American" peoples, both Black and Non-Black), are deeply routed in the slavery culture that birthed what we know as "America".

@ Chiogo,  . Yes, Antoine Fischer was a book and movie, but it is autobiographical and based on a real man and his life experiences.

This is just like cancer. If you figure out what's going on early enough (like now), then you can possibly do something about it. Stay and wait, and the heartbreak may be even worse.

Love is dynamic, not static. What that means is simple that people, and their hearts, change.

Sorry bro, .

It's not a myth. In America especially, there are some anger issues that are symptoms of a condition known as "Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome".

Read up on it,
RomanceBeing A "player" Vs. Being A "one Woman Guy" by Magz(op): 4:15am On Dec 11, 2009
Ha,

All of my life, I have always been a one-woman man. However, I think I am about to change this, and started dealing with many women at once. In this time, I see more benefit in having several girlfriends instead of trying to find the "right" one.

Thoughts? Opinions? Advice?
