There was a time it looked like were playing attack vs defence. Brighton attacks us with scintillating moves, our defence stops them only for DDG to kick the ball back to them, and they attack us again. This happened like 3-4 straight times without any attack from us. Which defence can withstand such pressure without pipe bursting?

DDG, Maguire, Fred, McTominay all should leave and if i had the power i would consider offloading AWB as well. He has his strong points but i don't think he suits a possession-based team. Weghorst needs to go back to sender while Sabitzer can be a squad player.

Nobody said DDG was the only problem. I thought we were talking about where we need to improve. If we keep DDG we will not be a possession dominating team. That does not mean we don’t have other places to improve in.

Also the bench mark for passing out from the back in the EPL is Ederson not Allison.

He is only bad with the ball on his feet ,and poor at pk saving ,these aren’t necessary for all coaches and no be everytime dem Dey play pk ,aside this he is a world class shot stopper 👌

You are very right. Trying to develop a play out from the back style with DDG is dead on arrival.

His accuracy is poor, his ball positioning is poor, the pace on his passes is often bad (too slow and the defender gets closed down or too fast and the defender struggles to control the ball).

Anytime he goes long we surrender possession.

It would be very difficult for any possession based team to thrive with DDG in goal.

Ten Hag ball can't work without ball retaining midfielders, Eriksen is the closest we got and he's not who he used to be.

Given the circumstances, ETH has done well, hopefully we seal top 4. Next season depends on whether the Glazers stays or Qatar takes over. The squad still needs overhauling.
