A 30-year-old mother, Mrs Temitope Amodu, who was delivered of a set of quadruplets at the National Hospital, Abuja has been stranded after she and her family were not able to offset the medical bills.



The parents of the quadruplets have however appealed for assistance from the government and Nigerians to help with funds for the medical services’ bills and to take care of the babies.

Their mother, Mrs Temitope Amodu, a 30-year-old teacher, was delivered of the all-female quadruplets on October 25, 2018.

Speaking with Newsmen on Monday, the Kogi State indigene expressed fear that the situation would become worse for her and the babies should the labour strike commence today (Tuesday) as scheduled.

She said:

“I am a teacher in a private school and the job is not secure. At a point, I had to take a leave without pay. My husband is an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. Before I got the teaching job, it was his meagre salary that we managed and life has not been easy. My first child is three years old; it was because of the economic situation that we decided to delay further childbirth till now.

“Despite that, God in His faithfulness still gave us these babies. I call on everybody: organisations, churches, government and individuals, to please come to our aid. We cannot do it alone. These children are everybody’s; they are God-given. I call on Nigerians to please come and help us. It is an urgent need. Apart from the bills – the National Hospital is so expensive and their bills are different from that of my regular hospital – there is the issue of feeding.

“In the last one week, I cannot count how many tins of milk they have taken. It has really not been easy; so much that it is affecting my health right now. My blood pressure has risen because I have been thinking of how I will do it.”

She also said based on medical advice, a bigger accommodation was required to ensure the safety of the babies.

“Where we live is a room and parlour, with a little space like a store, which we cannot call a room. Meanwhile, the paediatrician said the babies need a room to themselves; that if not, we might be having challenges,” Temitope added.

Her husband, Mr Ernest Amodu, who said he was serving at the Ondo State Command of the NSCDC, also solicited help from the government and Nigerians.

Ernest, who also hails from Kogi State, said:

“Having a child who is three years old, I know how tasking it is to raise him. To have an additional four is a lot of demand.

“In the last one week that we have spent in this hospital, it has not been an easy experience. The bills are quadruple. Every service is paid for five times for the mother and the babies.

“It is not easy at all but I know that God will raise men and women who will support us. I strongly believe that. Left for us, there is no way in the world that our salaries will be able to cover these. We trust God and good Nigerians to help us.”

A Nigerian guy who witnessed what happened to a guy whilst in hold up in Lagos, has shared what transpired between the guy, his supposed lover and another guy.

Talking to his friend on Whatsapp, he shared the incident, which has since gone viral. He claimed that while he and some other passengers boarded a bus and were going to their destination, whilst caught up in hold up, he heard the guy next to him scream!

Former Petroleum Resources Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke is to be extradited from Britain.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is to approach Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami( SAN) this week with a request to file charges against Mrs Alison-Madueke based on its findings.



As part of its investigation, the EFCC has traced N47.2 billion and $487.5million to the ex-minister, it was gathered.

Besides, about N23,446,300,000 and $5milion (about N1.5billion) have been located in various Nigerian banks.

But only about $37.5million Banana Island property has been finally forfeited by the ex-minister.

Justice Chuka Obiozor of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, ordered the final forfeiture of the property.

According to a fact-sheet Our Correspondent stumbled on, the EFCC has concluded the investigation of the allegations against Mrs Alison-Madueke.

More than 50 suspects in some of the cases linked with her have been arraigned in court, especially the alleged N23.29billion 2015 poll bribe.

The EFCC review team felt it will be “in the interest of justice to extradite the ex-minister to Nigeria for trial”. She is believed to be in Britain.

Some of the investigated allegations against the ex-Minister, with substantial evidence, include the following:

release of $1.3b NNPC cash to the Office of the national Security Adviser (ONSA) in 2014 to fight kidnapping in Niger Delta;

whereabouts of $18.5billion earnings by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC);

$15.8billion NLNG dividends between 2000 and 2014( especially about $9b component between 2010 and 2015);

$1.7billion oil contracts involving Mrs Alison-Madueke and two business associates;

N23.29b 2015 poll bribery scam;

$37.5m property on Banana Island; and

acquisition of many properties at home, in Britain, and in the UAE

A source, who spoke in confidence, said: “The EFCC has reached a convenient bend to request for the extradition of Diezani from the UK. Most of the cases against her have reached maturity level for her trial at home.

“The commission will formally approach the Attorney-General of the Federation, Mallam Abubakar Malami( SAN) to assist it to invoke the extradition treaty between Nigeria and the UK against Diezani.

“Through the office of the AGF, appropriate charges will be filed in court to commence the process for the extradition of the ex-Minister.”

Responding to a question, the source added: “The extradition process is without prejudice to the ongoing investigation of Diezani in the UK.

“The US end of Diezani probe has been done. The EFCC has also hauled evidence to the UK to assist the authorities. Some detectives from the UK have visited this country too.

“For the Nigerian flank of the probe, it is necessary to extradite Diezani to answer allegations against her.”

The source, however, added that the AGF has the final say on whether or not to initiate the extradition process. He stressed that all the allegations against the former minister are within the extradition treaty between Nigeria and the UK.

The laws guiding extradition in Nigeria include:

The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) with extradition matter within the purview of the Federal High Court.

The Extradition Act, Cap E 25, Laws of the Federation, 2010

The Immigration Act, Cap 11, Laws of the Federation, 2010

Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015.

The Evidence Act, Cap E14, Laws of the Federation, 2010.

Twice, the embattled former minister has defended some of the allegations against her.

On the N23.29m poll bribery cash, she said: “In the face of the obvious falsification of facts and misinformation, it is only right and proper that the EFCC should publish the details of the $153.3million lodgements, the bank account numbers and the account beneficiaries, showing proof of my link to them.

“Having also alleged that the said $153.3million was ‘wired’ from NNPC, the EFCC should also publish details of the NNPC accounts from where the said $153.3 million was taken, with proof that I authorised such a transaction/transactions, acting either in my private capacity or as The Honourable Minister of Petroleum.

“Let me state for the record that as Minister of Petroleum, the operation and management of NNPC finances were outside my purview as outlined in both the Petroleum Act and the NNPC Act.

“The only involvement I had in NNPC finances was in terms of statutory matters, where the Petroleum Act prescribes that as minister, there were certain duties or actions which I had to perform or take in relation to NNPC.”

The ex-Minister said also that she acted on the instructions of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan in directing the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to release $1.3billion to the Office of National Security Adviser (ONSA).

She said it was not within the power or discretion of any minister to question or disregard the written directive of a president.

Although about $1.4billion was requested by the ONSA via three memos, for “Intervention for Urgent National Security Projects,” about $1.3billion was released from NNPC accounts.

But it was unclear what became of the $100million balance.

Documents revealed that ONSA had requested for $1.4billion between March 27, 2014 and May 5, 2014 when approval was given and cash backed.

About three memos were sent to ex-President Jonathan on March 27, 2014, 31st March 2014 and May 5, 2014.

But Diezani insisted that she could not be held liable for carrying out a presidential directive.

The statement said: “The attention of Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, the former Minister of Petroleum, has been drawn to a story in The Nation Newspaper of Monday 22nd January, 2018 as well as other print and online media titled “Diezani in trouble again over withdrawal of $1.3b from NNPC accounts”.

“Under Section 5 of the Constitution, all executive powers are vested in the President who may exercise it directly or through the Vice President or Ministers of the Federation. As Minister for Petroleum Resources Mrs. Alison-Madueke was an appointee and delegate of the President.

“Consequently, the Minister of Petroleum Resources acted on the basis of the written approvals and directives given by the President, which approvals were given after written requests from the relevant security agencies were made to the President.

“At such instances, as in fact the article clearly shows, a Service Chief or Intelligence Chief makes a written request/appeal to Mr. President outlining whatever urgent and critical security needs of the nation they consider imminently paramount, at any given point in time.

“If such a request received the approval of the President, the President may direct that the requested funds be drawn from a Security Budget maintained by NNPC, or that the funds be sourced from elsewhere.

“Where the President directs the Minister of Petroleum Resources, in writing, to make the payment from the NNPC, the Minister in turn, directs the GMD NNPC in writing to execute the directive of the President. NNPC then wires the funds from one of its major foreign bank accounts, or from the CBN, directly to the stipulated account of the particular branch of the armed services, or intelligence unit, or department, that initiated the request.

“It is not within the power or discretion of any serving minister to question or disregard the written directive of a president including that of the incumbent President

The former Minister of Petroleum Resources in the statement stated that at no time, did she, or could she, as the Minister of Petroleum Resources, interfere with this process.”

The ex-Minister said since the disbursement of $1.3billion can be traceable, it was wrong to assume that it was diverted.

“It is, therefore, impossible and implausible, for any monies under such presidential directives to be diverted during the process, at least from the standpoint of the Minister.

“Any and all amounts approved and directed by Mr. President to be paid, were executed exclusively by NNPC, directly from NNPC’s foreign and or, Central Bank of Nigeria accounts, to the stated recipients.

“Therefore, let it be very clear, that all funds disbursed by these banking institutions on behalf of NNPC are easily and openly traceable, and the process cannot and should not be utilized for the distortion of facts.”

A 16-year-old Nigerian girl has committed suicide and tweets where she talked about battling demons have surfaced. The girl, who was known as Emeryl was recently suspended from secondary school after a violent episode. She used Twitter to occasionally vent.

A suspected madman, identified as Chukwudi Abey, in the early hours of Thursday in Asaba, the Delta State capital, allegedly raped a 51-year-old Ogbeogonogo market woman in the open market space.



The victim, Eunice Adigwe, who trades on palm oil as well as Banga seeds, was said to have been raped by the dirty-looking suspected madman, who was clad in Agbada and Buba Shokoto, in the early hours of Thursday while she busy attending to a customer in the market.


It was gathered that the suspect allegedly pounced on the woman to forcefully remove her wrapper and underwear, as his actions held onlookers spellbound while the attempt by him to get into the woman lasted. Unfortunately for the woman, she fell to the ground shouting for help and was rescued by security agents who in the process gave the suspect severe beating before he let his hands off the woman’s body.

Police officers at the “A” Division police station, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to journalists who rushed to the scene, said, “the suspect got the beating of his life as he refused to let go of the woman. We had to tear gas him before he stood up from the woman’s body after removing her clothes forcefully. We observed the suspect was talking none stop and meaninglessly, and we suspect something was wrong. We, however, saved the woman and took her away for treatment”.

An eyewitness, Maureen Ebele, told newsmen that “the man in Buba Shokoto and Agbada clothes suddenly pounced on the woman as she bends down from behind to remove her clothes, she started shouting but for fear of the suspect, nobody came close. Thank God for the security agents who had to tear gas him as he fell on the woman on the ground before the woman was let off the hook. It was like a drama”. Ogbueshi Frank Odare, who also spoke to journalists, described the act as a taboo, adding that the suspect may not have been mad but had a mission to accomplish. He explained, “Why was the woman alone? was the man really mad? we need to investigate the situation very well before we can make a definite pronouncement, but it is a taboo on the part of the woman.”

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mustafa Muhammad, while speaking with journalists on the incident, said, “the suspect’s action clearly shows he is sick as reported by officers at the “A” Division in charge of the area. The suspect was very dirty and he was sent away after the woman was rescued from his hands. The whole thing was like a mystery in the open marketplace, the officers said they found packets of cigarettes in his pocket, some of which he had smoked.”

This was made known by Twitter user @NollywoodBoss, who claimed he was contracted to handle the wedding’s video and photography the next day.

Controversial Nigerian journalist, Kemi Olunloyo in an interview with Saturday beat opened up about her sex life, how Davido disrespected her and how she found out that Davido and Chioma’s relationship would soon hit the rock.

About 25 people lost their lives, around 11:50am yesterday, after a truck rammed into 4 vehicles at a police checkpoint along Erin Ijesha-Akure road, Osun State.



According a survivor, Prince Adegbite, 3 private cars and an 18-seater commercial bus were crushed by the beer truck, with about 25 people dying instantly.

He claimed that a gridlock had formed as a result of the extortion activities of the police checkpoint, making it possible for the truck to crush the vehicles, after its driver lost control.

He added that what baffled him most was that all the policemen fled, immediately the accident happened, and it was the civil defence, FRSC officials and some soldiers who came to help evacuate the victims.

One of the survivors of the Young Shall Grow Motors accident that occurred as Ajese in Ogun State, has revealed that the driver drank and smoked excessively before the accident that killed 10 of the passengers happened.



According to a report by Punch Metro, the driver also threatened to deal with the passengers that cautioned him while driving recklessly.

Some of the passengers allegedly called the telephone number of Young Shall Grow to complain about the driver’s recklessness, and the company reportedly promised to address the issue.

It was gathered that when the passengers called back, the phone rang out several times before it was switched off until tragedy struck.

The bus driver was said to have rammed into a stationary truck around 5.30am on Monday, killing nine persons on the spot, while the 10th victim died in a hospital.

One of the survivors, Godwin Ikechukwu, said the passengers left the Enugu park without any premonition that danger was ahead.

He said,

“We left Enugu in the night. Our bus was the third to leave the terminal. About 10 minutes after we left, the driver started driving recklessly and everybody on the bus were alarmed, telling him to slow down. The man did not listen to any of us; nobody was comfortable.
“When I could no longer bear it, I decided to bring out my payment receipt ticket, checked the telephone numbers and found the customer care contacts of Young Shall Grow Motors. I called and told them our experience. I said the driver taking us to Lagos was driving recklessly and the company should caution him. They asked for the number plate of the bus and I gave it to them. They said they would take care of it.

“When the man continued to drive recklessly, I decided to call them again. I called for more than 10 times, but they did not pick my calls. The next thing, their phone was switched off. Our ugly experience from Enugu continued to the point that nobody could sleep; we were all praying. The driver refused to listen to advice as he drank and smoked.”

Ikechukwu said when the vehicle got to a police checkpoint, one of the females on the bus alerted the policemen, who ignored her.

“She waved at the policemen to stop the bus, but the officers did not listen maybe because they did not understand what she was saying. Subsequently, whenever we approached any other checkpoint, the driver raced past them and refused to stop,



The woman, who was injured in the hand, said, “I shouted, ‘Oga help us, help us talk to the driver,’ but they did not do anything.”

Another passenger said the driver threatened them for trying to report him to the police.

“After the woman tried to call the police, he asked us to identify the people on the bus who were against him. We told him nobody was against him and that we only asked him to reduce his speed. He said we should not allow him to do what was in his mind. We told him to reduce his speed or park, but he ignored us. He was under the influence.
“There were other buses that passed where we had the accident without any problem. If he was in his right senses, even if there was no sign to indicate that there was a broken down vehicle at the spot, he would have controlled the bus. But before he realised it, he had rammed into the stationary bus at top speed. After the accident, he disappeared.”

One of the female survivors, however, said contrary to the police claim that the driver died, he escaped.

“While I was struggling to come out, I saw him. He said, ‘you people should stand up and come out.’ that was the last time I saw him. He did not die,”

she said.

An official of the transport company contacted on Wednesday declined comment.

He said:

“What is a journalist doing on my phone? Go to the scene and ask for what you need. Thank you.”

A waitress did an incredible thing after she was given a $10,000 tip at Sup Dogs restaurant in Greenville, North Carolina.



Alaina Cluster, arrived to work this past Friday and her boss assigned her a table of two .

She promptly brought the diners waters and gave the pair a few minutes to look over the menu, she told Today.

When she came back a second time, there were no customers at the table. Instead, the diners had left a note that read,

“The waters were great,” — and $10,000 in cash.“I thought someone was playing a joke on me,” Cluster told Today. “I wasn’t that excited, I just said, ‘What? What is this?’

According to PEOPLE , after Oliver told her that the money was her tip, she spotted two men with cameras at a different table. She asked them of they were part of the prank, and they simply told her to subscribe to the YouTube channel of MrBeast, adding that he’d been “going around blessing servers’ days.”

Rather than taking the money all for herself, Cluster, a nursing student at East Carolina University, decided to split it with her coworkers. She gave $200 to everyone working during the shift, $100 to servers who weren’t in, and pocketed the $800 that was left.

That could’ve been like anybody on my shift, ya’ know,” she told the morning show. “I didn’t do anything to deserve that much money. I wanted to split it up and be fair with everybody.”

Fresh facts have emerged on the circumstances surrounding the killing in Abuja of Anita Akapson, said to be the daughter of a former Minister of Finance, Nenadi Usman.



It was learnt that the 31-year-old, who was shot in her 2007 Honda Accord car, allegedly refused to alight when directed by the policeman who killed her on October 13.

After demobilising the car by firing at the tyres, the Superintendent of Police, who shot her, was said to have asked Akapson to come out of the car but she reportedly refused, fearing that she might be harmed.

Sources close to the investigation ,said that the cop insisted that Akapson should step out of her car, but she refused to budge.

“In an attempt to force the door open, the police officer fired at the car door and the bullet went through it, hit Akapson in the stomach and exited into the driver seat,” the source explained while tendering the picture showing the trajectory of the bullet.

The Spokesman, Federal Capital Territory Police, Anjuguri Manzah, declined to comment on the case, saying investigation was still ongoing.

A wealthy man in south China was humiliated in public when his girlfriend turned down his elaborate proposal which involved balloons, roses, fireworks and a Lamborghini.



The man did not take the rejection well and continued to persuade her to say yes by blurting out: ‘I have money!’

The awkward incident, filmed on Saturday outside the Wanda Plaza shopping complex in Changsha, Hunan province, shows the pair quarrelling in front of stunned passers-by.

Hurt and embarrassed, the frustrated man then lost his temper and went on a rampage, throwing the large bouquet of flowers to the ground and knocking over products on display at the plaza.

While the clip of the incident has gone viral, many net users accuse the proposal of being a publicity stunt for the plaza’s property-to-entertainment conglomerate owner, Wanda Group.

The man had apparently purchased the orange Lamborghini for his love interest and asked her to meet him on the crowded square.

But the drama does not end there as the man’s friends try to comfort him.

The suitor loses his temper at the crowd of onlookers and appears to throw a bouquet of flowers at a woman filming the proposal.

A woman who allegedly disguised as a mad woman and sells used sanitary pads to suspected ritualists, was nabbed by residents after suspecting her movements.



It was gathered that the woman was nabbed picking used children pampers and women sanitary pads along the road.

According to Henry Chidon, a Facebook user from Enugu state who shared the report, the woman had been living in their street for many years as the residents thought she’s really mad and didn’t know what she was doing until she was seen picking the awkward items on Sunday night.

When she was caught, the woman begged for her life as she made some shocking confessions while being interrogated by the residents.


In a trending video posted online, the woman confessed that she picks the used pampers and sanitary pads which she sells to an unknown group of men.

She said when ever they come with their vehicle, she loads the bag of items she has already picked in their booth before she is paid.

The Principal-General of Government Technical College, Abak, Akwa Ibom State, Mr Friday Udoka, has apologized for flogging a serving female corps member in the school, Miss Olaitan Adeola Kolawole.



Tendering his apology at the NYSC state office in Uyo Monday, Udoka said he did not deliberately flog the corps member, noting that he used the cane on her out of anger.

Miss Kolawole was said to have written the name of her friend, Dolapo Victoria in the attendance register of the school on Friday, October 19, 2018 when Dolapo was absent.

The principal who has just three years to retire from service was said to have flogged Kolawole for the “misdeamour” and dragged her outside the classroom in front of the students; an allegation he denied.

“No man is perfect, I have not beaten a corps member before. I am very sorry for using a cane on a corper. Adeola, I am very sorry for what happened.

“When I went back home, I felt bad for beating a woman. It is not true that I dragged the corper out of my office and flogged her before the students. This is a man that behaves like a father, but I don’t know what happened that I behaved rudely with you. Please forgive me.

“The mistake will not repeat itself. Whatever is the cost of your treatment, I will bear the cost,” he said.

Responding, Miss Kolawole said she had no justification not to accept the apology of an elder saying, “For an elder to apologize for his mistake, I forgive him. I accept his apology. My parents wanted to take up the matter, but I will talk to them not to pursue the case as they wanted”.

The Commissioner for Education, Victor Inoka, who was also at the ‘reconciliation meeting’, made a personal donation of N50,000 to Miss Kolawole for her treatment.
