But if she said No...I will write out my intentions, I mean, I will speak it out. She will have to accept me or say reject me...

I will not give room to, "Let's be friends first"....

I just want to be serious and if you can't be serious, then we have to move on.

Mexico is a trillion dollar economy lol (1.3 trillion) . Not even close. There's actual cities there with infrastructure and good living standards. These include healthcare, education (8th most STEM grads globally) and functioning municipal services. What makes Mexico poor is that the prosperity isn't as widespread as that of USA or western Europe. The 'West' differentiates itself on that note.

Look up neighborhoods in Guadalajara where Tigres
are located and see for yourself. Go to Colonia America for e.g.

The Mexican league, for men at least, makes $500 million(USD). Gignac makes about 6million USD playing for Tigres scoring fantastic goals... There's others making seven figures as well. Trust that this girl is living good,. Regardless

It really isn't the same thing. Go to Mexico city and check out Polanco, Chapultepec, Santa Fe and the paseo de la Reforma. Just enter either of these places in your search bar.

I'm not including the multiple coastal resort towns of varying quality.check Cabo San Lucas On tripadvisor or Airbnb to see for yourself.

Sante fe is not in mexico but the United States of America

They want to tell us how bad gun violence is in America yet here in Nigeria over a hundred citizens are killed daily across Nigeria. At least in America they capture all violence .. in my Edo state I know how many cultists fall each other dialy but it's no longer news and you want to come and tell me about gun violence in AMERICA ? GO TO port Harcourt and see how many of themselves they kill daily over Bunkering, cultism, drugs, , yahoo, clout etc , go to the North let the Northern Christians tells you how they ar evening wiped from the face of the earth and this dolt wants to tell me about gun violence In America.

What is good about Nigeria ? Name.one thing... Only idiot will follow bitter deported depressed people who tell you AMERICA IS NOT GOOD. Tell them to stay here on Nigeria and leave you alone .

They tell you dreams font come through in America yet dreams for first in Nigeria

I have never seen a more dleuded saddistic narcissistic race than Nigerians deported or too poor to travel to America!! They hate the land of the free so much and it's their problem.

See I have lived in America from the projects in three kings in Brooklyn to the splendor or Dade country Miami. Words cannot ever describe what it means to live in America..m it's is paradise on earth . These people are sent by satan to kill your morale .. If you can japa do it... Get out, run , Nigeria is cursed... Run far and America is the easiest country on earth to go from nobody to somebody.

Just be smart ,honest, hard working and focused. Alot of Nigerians are their romaing the hoods jobless and refuse to return, they join gangs and enter the gang life because that's where easy money is but that's also where they waste away for ever.

When you see threads like this just ignore them, they are trash sponsored by hate and bitterness...

Modified:

You see all these spoilt, lazy, and rotten brats, if you listen to them mislead you or successfully make you keep away from competing with them out of wickedness and envy, na you sabi.

This kid could be a privileged rotten kid back home in Nigeria who probably had a whole room to herself with a driver to chauffeur her back and fro wherever she goes without much of an understanding to the fact that "nyansh dey pepper egg wey dey lay egg wey she dey chop".

Her parents obviously needed more in life and thus migrated making this silly kid see herself as living below her standard because of sharing a house and bathroom. She's clearly not happy because she could barely find any poor man pikin to oppress out there.

The idiot even went on to say their condition improved when their asylum was approved. They should have sought the asylum in Nigeria na..

Talking about her parents doing long hours of work. It's evil and ungrateful to God and nature to make such complaints. Now it isn't the lack of jobs oh but the long hours of job. The question people of sound mind should ask are:

* What is the hourly wage
*Do you get owed or short paid for these jobs?
* Are these jobs back-breaking or hard jobs?
* What are the general working conditions of these jobs?

Only wicked and selfish people will tell you America is bad, unsafe, and hard to survive.

Very wicked and mean people.

Even if you find a job with an agency paying $10-12 per hour, you have enough hours to work if you want and can do the job to take in as much as $4k per month.

Now, you can imagine how much a direct staff at the same job who knows what brought him to the US will take home.

Na so all of them dey collect and drive big big new cars because work hours dey to dey pay monthly na all these enjoyment dem no want make people come enjoy with them.

My dear people, there is so much work and less hands such that na me dey reject hours because I need to rest but when I dey my bed I no dey fit rest because my mind go dey calculate how much I dey miss because I want siddon for my bed.

One thing though, it depends on the people you met when you got in and the information you had before making the moves.

One can successfully live and work in the US for 100 years and more as an alien without the right documents so long as you stay away from trouble and keep to the rules.

The system is aware of this fact that loads and loads of illegals abound in the country and of course, are doing the jobs their people won't do which are jobs in very critical sectors and the authorities turn the other way so long as the jobs get done in a timely manner and the economy/system keeps spinning.

In my 1 month that I've been here, Na God bless America I dey take sing every morning...

God bless my destiny...

God bless God too...

Na to work move all my family if possible, my entire clan comot from that dustbin called country.

When I step out from airport, na cry I cry go reach where I dey go inside train when my eye see wetin country and living suppose look like.

May all Nigerian evil leaders both past, present, future, and the ones in the grave continue to rot in hell....

Demons...

I pray for every Nigerian to experience life outside of Nigeria, particularly to the first world countries to understand the difference between life and living.

Good evening all,

I am glad today, my interview at Abuja went so well and it was God, I must say.

I was the 4th to be interviewed this morning and the 1st to be granted a visa, the three guys before me were rejected.

School is University of New Haven, Connecticut.
I had little funding and deficit of $26k
Course: Masters of Public health

The VO(only VO for today) had an assistant with him, guess the guy was on training or so, cos he had the approval and denial papers with him in a file, both of them were standing (or do the VOs usually stand?) the VO collects from him to dish out. You hear him converse slightly with the assistant after each applicant leave before he calls on the next applicant, so that's why I presume he was on training as a VO too.

VO: Good morning
Me: Good morning to you

VO: can I have your documents (passport and i-20)
Me: sure you can, here you have it(I passed to him)

VO: what's your course?
Me: Masters of Public health

VO:Do you know anyone in Connecticut?
Me: No, I don't.

VO: So where will you be staying
Me: in the school hostel, I already booked a space( I haven't booked any space ooo, just replied with that)

VO: I can see you have a deficit to be paid by a family member, so who is paying?
Me: My dad actually

VO: So what does he do?
Me: He owns one of the biggest hotels in Lagos, he cuts me short and asks for the name, I replied, then he asks for his bank statement and I showed him. Flips to the second page only, showing his assistant, then returns to me.

VO: what else does he do?
Me: He is into the transportation industry, his fleet of cars and buses run about 17 states currently in Nigeria and hoping to expand to more as demand permits

VO: So how long has he been in the hotel business
Me: about 15-16 years

VO: So he just added the transport to it
Me: Yes

VO: How about your mom, what does she do?
Me: She is a caterer

VO: What type of catering?
Me: indoor and outdoor catering, for both social and corporate events, she also runs staff canteens for companies and she's been in the field for 35years

VO: Wow! That's fine, so do you have siblings?
Me: Yes, 2 sisters and 2 brothers

VO: What do they do?
Me: my older sister works with my dad in his hotel, my younger sis is a fashion designer and a student, my younger brother is a hair stylist and a student, my last brother is a photographer and a student.

VO: Oh! That's good, what secondary school did you attend?
Me: I mentioned and added location

VO:You live in Lagos
Me: Yes, between the boundary of Lagos and Ogun state.

VO: So why did you come to Abuja for interview
Me: my school's resumption date is actually fast approaching and Abuja had earlier appointment dates than Lagos.

VO: oh! That's true, so have you travelled out of the country before?
Me: No, he tried to cajole me like, you know people just travel for maybe vacation to Dubai and that's just it.... So I replied by saying, I have actually been about school and work basically so I haven't even had the time to plan any trip, be it vacation or any.

VO: He kept nodding with his assistant, that one just had the file held like a statue and was smiling. So how did you find out about the school?
Me: When I concluded on having my masters degree, I did an extensive search on Google for schools that offer pub, VO cuts in and completes the rest for me and I said yes.

VO: OK, that's fine, do you have a room mate
Me: I don't know, the school didn't tell me any of such(room that I didn't even book at all)

VO: OK, I want to approve your visa, collects the white paper for approval from his assistant and slides it under the Window with my i-20 and says I can pick up at my preferred pick up point.

Me: thank you very much, I'm honoured.
VO: don't mention, you are welcome (he smiled at me with his assistant, while I dropped my papers in my file and left his window)

That was simply how my interview went, guess this VO is more about home ties cos he hardly asked questions about school even from the first 3 applicants before me.

Thank you everyone for the transcripts you have been dropping so far, to everyone still hopeful for an approval, God in his infinite mercies will make your day of joy to come. You won't come this far and not have a testimony.

The information you gave about your Dad, Mum and siblings is it true?

Number 1 is possible but do you have the other i-20 with you already? infact some school won't even require you to spend a semester with them, they will just transfer your Sevis record to the other school you want.

I know someone (BSC) who got admission into a university and a community college but got his visa with the university i-20 and when he got to the usa, he went to the university and told him he would like to transfer to the community college instead but he gave them good reasons.

They transferred it and went to the community college which was just $4500 per year, he did the best thing than staying out of status. But most schools won't transfer your Sevis record to a different school without you spending at least a semester with them

Please, what is i-20

Its basically falsified documents or insufficient money in the account that causes such delay or denial, well based on what I read though.
I am also preparing to apply for a visa they just started today this booking online for submission, I pray I get date so I can apply for my Visa soonest.
It's clear that so many people are applying to Spanish universities but its either they are not on nairaland or they just choose to be quiet.
I was shocked at the number of persons I saw at the embassy when I went for legalisation.

Just came across this trend. Pls, how much do I need to have in my account before I can be given visa? I'm planning on going for masters in Spain. I want to know how much it will cost.. Thanks for your response

Education / Re: Why You Must Not Finish With A 2.1 To Succeed At A Job Or In Life by Majestybaba92(m): 5:22pm On Sep 13, 2021
why would you go to school when you know you won't be serious with your studies?
I'm a proud 2.1 holder in industrial chemistry and aslo an Entrepreneur. I have been running my barbershop even before gaining admission and aslo an employer of labour. I pay up to $30, 000 monthly to my employee, but that was not an excuse for me not to do well in school.

buemene:
This post is coming at the hills of a post featured here a few days back: https://www.nairaland.com/1896298/why-must-finish-least-2.1

I have very high regard for excellence at what one does, academic excellence not being the least of them. I would also encourage all undergrads who are still in school and who have chosen a job as their career path to do all they can to get the golden ticket to a good job - 2.1+.

My personal experience however, has taught me differently. While I was still an undergrad, I turned down three juicy job openings, one in the private sector and two with Govt organisation with pensionable benefits. The reason? I was determined to be a solutions provider and a job creator. So whenever I communicate with prospective clients and proffer solutions to common problems they face, they ended up wanting to employ me to add value to their organisations.

Even in my current position which I work as I finally decided to work for a while, I got the job beating several graduates with 2.1 qualifications while I was still an undergraduate (I graduated with 2.2 part time). All this with no connection or recommendation from any top Govt. Official.
I know several others in my city who have demonstrated entrepreneurial inkling that have turned down several job offers who do not have a university degree. No kidding.

The facts show that putting too much emphasis on pure academic excellence and good grades is diminishing the equally if not more important things any individual should pursue if they want to succeed in life.

Higher education and a degree is overrated and misleading.

Since secondary school leavers naturally aspire for a degree, that is where the problem begins. The trend today is for secondary schools to groom their students for higher education. To this end, most secondary schools focus on academic subjects that enable the students to score well in university entrance examinations rather than on courses that will equip the students for the workplace. Secondary school students today are under tremendous pressure from teachers, counselors, and fellow students to aim for enrollment in the best universities, where they will hopefully earn the degrees that can open for them doors to promising and well-paying jobs. This eventually denies them the most needed practical skills in real life. This continues throughout the university days.

A degree (good or bad) no longer guarantees a job

The popular opinion that for young people to succeed, the only option is to get a university education and come out with good grades has been proven false again and again. Studies show that in many sectors of our economy, there is an acute need, not for university graduates, but for people to work in the trades and services.

Employers are no longer looking for those with polished credentials with little or no experience to contribute. Many employers will prefer to employ an entrepreneur with a proven track record of attempts at succeeding at a business than candidates who wait for a job to come along that matches their good grade status.

Most people learn best outside of the classroom.

Some people prefer learning by doing — working, exploring, creating, or otherwise doing things in the real world. Learning via textbook is tedious and boring to such ones and no matter how hard they try, they just know they are not into it but since it is what is expected of them, they hang in there wasting a huge chunk of the most productive period of their life away. These set mostly come out with low grades but when they find their passion, they excel very well in life.

What are the alternatives?

First class self-development
Strong entrepreneurial undertaken
Start up something and be an employer
Gain inspiration from those who have done it

So whether you graduated with a first class, 2.1, 2.2, 3.0 or even a certificate of attendance or dropped out, you can do a first class job and add value to any organisation you find yourself. Better still, darn the job search mentality and stop polishing a shiny and impressive CV, rather create a product or service, build a business and give your business a first class attention while rendering first class services to your customers. Yes YOU Can Make It Happen not your grade.

Education / Re: Why You Must Finish With At Least A 2.1 by Majestybaba92(m): 10:30pm On Sep 12, 2021
I understand your point, but that's not an excuse because I'm a living testimony. I financed my self throughout my stay in the university and I also have a family a wife and two sons( had them while in school)that I take care of. My hustle was my barbershop which I established before I got admitted, and I had to rush home every weekend to attend to my customers. My fight was to graduate with 2.1 and I did despite spending extra year in school

......
one thing you should be thankful for is that you have someone to send you through school, someone who ministered into your needs that was why you were able to concentrate & earn a good grade, the same can't be said of someone who financed himself, who has to take some time off to hustle and come back preparing for exam I wouldn't blame that kind of person if he or she made a 2.2 ,I had a friend back in university who made a 3.10 despite leaving school for some large part of the semester, he will come back a month before exam to compile all the notes and handouts we've been given, imagine if that kind of person had a sponsor and stay back at school like others did, he would have made a good grade.
Education / Re: Why You Must Finish With At Least A 2.1 by Majestybaba92(m): 10:04am On Sep 10, 2021
I just graduated with 2.1 in industrial chemistry and I can't tell the joy I'm having presently. People are fond of saying is not by grades in other to discourage serious student. For me as far as you are in school you should strive for the best and remove that mindset of it's not by result. Same thing I was told when looking for admission, that I have to know someone in uniben for me to be admitted but I was admitted because I scored high and I know nobody in the school..
