Nigeria may have many good inland boats. But those are not them. SA has better river/delter patrol boats and we don't have any rivers/delters to patrol.

Better patrol boats like what?

i know we have the K38s and Shaldags and Ocea and also some chinese ones, and some other ones but what do you guys have

Leaving your "black Africa" comment for a second - Read the article about the unveiling of this. Looks like a milestone, yes. But what's the story with the Proforce Pf1. Is this the APC that was originally unveiled or not?

The pic is neither the PF1 or the Igirigi (i think) , the Igrigi is manufactured wholly by the Nigerian Army Engineers, while the PF1 is manufactured by a defense company by the name of Proforce, which is based in Nigeria

DictatorZAR:

Who you trying to impress with UK built satellites claimed as your own.

SA has been part of the space race 50years ago, we've been working with NASA tracking and controlling satellites 50years before Nigeria even dreamed of having a space agency.

SA has had a satellite in orbit in 1999 already, nothing new to SA even Egypt has a spy satellite in space. Your way behind.

SA has SALT and now were are building the biggest international radio telescope on the planet.

Get over yourselfs Giants of Nothingtongue

LOL stop living in the past "SA has had" the question is not what you had, it is what you have slowpoke, you have been working with NASA tracking and controlling satellites lol what did you get out of it, medal?, since you have been "working" with them, why cant you produce something that you actually gained, Egypt has spy satellite we all know why, they have the support of the U.S. but without the type of U.S. support that the Egyptians get Nigeria has managed to put 3 satelltites in orbit, with our own engineers basically assembling one, when you have 3 satellites in space then we can start talking lol your SANDF can't even beat ordinary CAR rebels and here you are comparing your Defence Force to an army that has worn every 'war' except domestic homegrown terrorism since the end of their civil war
Foreign Affairs / Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MajorJ(m): 4:47am On Apr 07, 2013
DictatorZAR: The Paper Nigerian Army that's been deployed in Mali which can't even take part in Active combat has been given another blow by the UNSC few days ago.

The UNSC has asked France to stay a while longer and has called for 7000 UN Peacekeeping force to take over or run concurrently with French forces in order to maintain a stability and to avoid Mali to return to CHAOS when French forces leave because ECOWOS troops deployed there simply don't have the Equipment, training and manpower to effectively keep Mali from falling to jihadist rebels again.

The resolution also entails a complete overhaul of the Mali defense forces.
http://m.securitycouncilreport.org/466255/show/58a4956db9ae894a97c7b6f7e3807c36&t=83sglm8bf78ltqv5dv216j21v3

Now so much for the socalled Nigerian force that's supposed to take over and lead the forces in Mali after France. If you were the true power in the region you would've been in charge like France and not the UN which will take over in months to come.

Now this is why you are rated the 5th best military on the continent because of a over bloated poorly equipped I'll disciplined army.

tongue:ptonguetonguetonguetonguetonguetonguetonguetonguetonguetonguetonguetonguetonguetonguetonguetonguetonguetongue

No stupid, its cause they are still ironing out few 'talks" did you even read the link you posted, i guess you are one of the products of a failed education system, the link you posted doesn't even mention equip... talk less of equipment my friend you needa get a brain check up

I wonder - is there any other military that prefers the colour black on its vehicles? I just find it interesting that most of the Nigerian military vehicles that I've seen here are black (just an observation).

Its meant for the Police dirty shit

DictatorZAR:

Now you call that a proudly naija product that's not even a original product. Building a APC based on a merc chassis for military or even SSS is totally a waist of money and resources, there's many ready made products on the market with far better quality then that excuse for a socalled armoured rack.

If that is the best your Perforce can do I must then conclude judging what's on offer in SA I must say even our SAPS(SA police) are better equipped and have better vechiles.

A military within a country should not be used against insurgents like BH but police force coupled with intelligents would be more then just good or such missions.

@Henry your excuse for the failure of NA is inexcusable, there's been hundreds of reports in the media even here on NL about the conduct of Nigerian Army when conducting raids, with total disregard for Human Rights. There's been reports wher even 30 civilians have been killed in NA raids, even where a 60 year old man was beaten to death just for damaging a Army vechile.

The fact remains Nigerian security forces are incompetent and a Army should not operate with impunity. Another thing a Army should only operate and give support to existing policing structures to fulfill its statutory mandate not man roadblocks and harnessing citizens, soldiers are mend to defend a nations sovereignty.

Stupid Idiot u see its not even based on Merc CHassis its based on ford F59 Chasis..so stupid, i will not even bother to read the rest of your comment, because the little quarter of it i read screams out retarded monkey you dirty scum, stupid blind motherfucker
Autos / Worlds New Fastest Car: The Hennessy Venom GT (video & Pics) by MajorJ(m): 7:44pm On Apr 06, 2013
At 265.7 mph, Hennessey Venom GT claims “fastest production car” title — but is it really?
By Alex Lloyd | Motoramic – 22 hours ago

Since 2010, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport "World Record Edition" has held the mantle as the fastest production car in the world, topping out at 267.8 mph. On April 2, 2013, Hennessey Performance of Texas announced it had stolen the crown from Bugatti by posting a slower speed of 265.7 mph. Now both claim the title — and the true holder may be neither.

Hennessey’s reasoning for calling Venom GT faster, even though it remains slower, derives from the way Bugatti reached its record — by effectively deactivating the safety restrictor on its 1,200-hp Veyron Super Sport World Record Edition.

“While a Veyron Super Sport did run 267.8 mph, Bugatti speed-limits its production vehicles to 258 mph,” said company founder and president, John Hennessey. “Thus, at 265.7 mph the Venom GT is the fastest production car available to the public" — a claim Hennessey has emblazoned on his web site.

Despite reports from Fox News stating that Bugatti’s World Record Edition cars were delivered to customers without the limiter, Bugatti told us that in fact that statement is incorrect: All five World Record Editions built were sold with its restrictor in place. That, according to Jaime Strang from Guinness World Records Ltd., means the Veyron no longer holds the title as the fastest production car in the world.

In fact, as Strang told me, no vehicle does:

“It has come to the attention of Guinness World Records that there was an oversight in its adjudication of the ‘Fastest production car’ which was set in 2010 by the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport. As the car’s speed limiter was deactivated, this modification was against the official guidelines. Consequently, the vehicle’s record set at 431.072 km/h is no longer valid. As we are now reviewing this category with expert external consultants there is no current record holder.”

Bugatti, incidentally, knows nothing about this, and maintains its cars stand as the world's fastest production vehicles.

This brings into question the legitimacy of Hennessey’s claims regarding the Venom GT being a “production” car. According to Guinness, to qualify as a production car one must build “at least 50 mechanically identical vehicles, and these vehicles must be on sale to the general public.”

Hennessey only intends to produce 29 Venom GTs, falling short of the Guinness guidelines. Guinness does, however, offer exceptions to this rule gifted upon a case-by-case basis. They confirmed that even if Bugatti did sell five World Record Edition Veyrons without the restrictor, it would not qualify as “production.” Seeing as Hennessey secured the Guinness World Record title for the fastest production car from 0-300 kmh earlier this year, completing the run in a staggering 13.63 seconds, it would appear an exception was indeed granted for the Hennessey Venom GT.

Travel / Safest Countries To Travel To by MajorJ(m): 2:39am On Apr 04, 2013
Where in the world is it safe to travel?

Reports of brutal rapes of foreign tourists in India and Brazil in recent months have rocked the international travel industry.
According to data cited by The Atlantic, visitors to India have dropped 25 percent since December's fatal gang-rape of a young woman on a bus in the capital of New Delhi, and 35 percent among female travelers. And that data was compiled before March 16, when a Swiss woman who was touring the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh by bicycle with her husband was gang-raped by a group of eight men.
In Madhya Pradesh, there are nine reported rapes every day, according to the Washington Post.
In Brazil, where an American tourist was raped by three men over the course of six hours on Monday, reports of rapes there have risen 150 percent since 2009, The Atlantic reported.
Not surprisingly, Brazil and India are among the most dangerous places to travel, according to an interactive map produced by Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs.
But they're not the most dangerous: North Korea, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Mali, Niger, Sudan, South Sudan, Central African Republic and Somalia are where would-be tourists are warned to "avoid all travel."
For other countries, like Libya, visitors are cautioned to "avoid non-essential travel."
The color-coded danger map also includes region- and time-specific warnings. In Pakistan, tourists are told to avoid:
- areas reporting military or militant activity;
- all border areas, except the Wagha official border crossing point;
- Kashmir region, including Azad Kashmir;
- the province of Baluchistan, including the city of Quetta;
- the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, including Swat, the city of Peshawar and the Khyber Pass;
- and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
In Mexico, those "required to travel to Monterrey, in the state of Nuevo León, should avoid movement after dark and stay within the suburb of San Pedro Garza García."
So where, exactly, is it safe to travel? Australia, Botswana, Canada, Chile, most of Europe, Greenland, Iceland, New Zealand, Malaysia, South Korea, the United States and Uruguay, according to the agency.
"No matter where in the world you intend to travel," the department's website advises, "make sure you check the travel advice and advisories page twice: once when you are planning your trip, and again shortly before you leave. ... The decision to travel is the sole responsibility of the individual."

i would have posted pics here to compare, but i have better things to do, than argue with some morons who dont even have faith in the potential of thier own country, or thier own brothers, they haven't produce ordinary broomstick and they are quick to condemn someone that is producing car batteries, car tires e.t.c, even if the design isn't his, ITS JUST A STARTUP, in the near future, watch how they start designing thiers.

Although the NPF might not be the worlds most perfect organization, but you don know that without them, life in Nigeria will not be the same, there will be chaos, just look at how much peace they have managed to help Somalia achieve, these are people that although you might take their work for granted, because you don't notice how much work they are doing, despite their low wages.. i'll show you what they do in other countries and how they are appreciated.
