In the meantime consider a new location

Most times people who go out of their way to make a living must have encountered a lot of challenges and discouragements. It is wrong and unfair to judge them because wicked people pushed them out of their way. I don't really know how I'm gonna handle this. This is the second time my shop will be attacked. This time around they cleared all my goods(everything). I wake up this morning with calls flying through my phone. Just for my kid brother to send me this pictures. Nairalanders What have I done to deserve thishuh I feel like killing myself. All the money I have been saving from nysc is gone. Back to square 1 ..... crying

Even science, make it math, has facility for assumption.

It is people like you who reason assumption as the 'lowest level of arguments' that resort to fistcuffs to argue. At least to you it's not as low as assumptions.

And am not even arguing here, I made an educated guess as to a possibility of desperate need for water been the cause of the situation. We call that a hypothesis in research.

A sound mind will pick that up and either raise their observations or examine (research) that hypothesis and come back to say it was right or it was wrong.

PaulKillerman:
Stop making assumptions and deal with the matter at hand; assumption is the lowest level of arguments..
You can't start making assumptions when things haven't happened; as not even the devil knows the intention of man..
I could assume you are a cripple , with some weird understanding, that doesn't make it true and cannot be used as a factual premise for an argument . it defies sensibility...
TravelRe: Nigerian Lady Kicked Off Turkish Flight For Assaulting Air Hostess (Pics, Video) by MakeADifference: 6:37am On Jun 01, 2017
Over water? A hostess should be a hostess in every sense of that word. She made the guest feel unwelcome by her actions and became involved in an assault issue. She could have handled the situation differently.

I would be surprised if the airline doesn't relieve her of that hostess duty. Except her management is dull, they'll realise this is a terrible image they've earned.

It will hunt or even hurt them for ages. Fighting with their passenger over water? Ordinary water? No. It is bad for an airline brand.

I am not even concerned about the woman, she can easily claim victim in this case. She could claim there was a delay already, that she was tired or that she is on meds, and etc.

I wont be surprised if competitors help them hype the matter.

The woman too would learn one or two things from this and will be a bit nicer to her husband, inlaws and others from henceforth.

For me I have realised cunning is key.

A. I won't insult/harass them till we are in the air smiley - just kidding.

B. I won't ask directly. I will feign choking and coughing and start using my hand to gesture around for water. If that doesn't work then I will know better than fly AjePako airline.

kingthreatz:
We Nigerians need to stop playing the race card when our people break rules and want to go scot free. Come on, why smash the cup on a hostess. Hostessesing and cabin crew members are respectable members of the society and important in flights. Most of them even earn far more than bankers. I wonder why people feel that because others people's jobs are to serve us, we must treat them like poo. That woman deserves to be booted out of that plane. What is wrong is wrong. Next time she will learn to respect the waiter in her local restaurant. Nonsense.

The koko is you've been rated a "F". Go and sort your carryover so you can at least score a pass next year.

The question is this - would she have given somebody else water if they had that white skin?
I assume yes.

Would this story had cut most headlines if it wasn't a Nigerian involved?
I assume yes.

I therefore decide to stand with the lady, be she Afonja, Flatno, Awusa, Charlie, or Almajiri.

Down with the pilot who ordered out and that zombie who could not go and ask her superiors if she could give someone in desperate need of water.

OK. Seun go register Nairaland and show us your "certificate of occupancy" for Nairaland.

PoliticsShame On The Nigerian Military by MakeADifference(op): 6:19pm On May 24, 2017
There is no civilized nation where you find the military going on the streets harrasing civilians.

There is no goodness or professionalism in the airforce attacking UNIOSUN students for any reason at all.

My friend is married to a South African military personnel. Over lunch one day, I mentioned how NG govt often brings on military force to bear on the society.

He was shocked and there was no amount of explanation I gave that got to him. He simply said the military isn't there to be used to attack their civilians or to handle civilian matters.

When Amnesty comes with another 'F' rating for the Nigerian military, it is because of reasons such as this.

Last week, you attacked women, this week you attacked students. Next week who knows whether it is a creche you will attack?
RomanceRe: I'm A Christian In Love With A Muslim Friend by MakeADifference: 12:50pm On May 24, 2017
In most / all the cases you've listed the MAN is the Muslim. Islam allows a Muslim man to marry out (as I have read in various commentaries).

Islam doesn't encourage Muslim females to marry out as it seems.

To the rest I say (I, not the Lord) that if any brother has a wife who is an unbeliever, and she consents to live with him, he should not divorce her. If any woman has a husband who is an unbeliever, and he consents to live with her, she should not divorce him. For the unbelieving husband is made holy because of his wife, and the unbelieving wife is made holy because of her husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy. But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so. In such cases the brother or sister is not enslaved. God has called you to peace. For how do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?
Normally, Yorubas don't have problem doing inter-religious marriage but dis days things as changed, people now put religion on their head, if u were d lady, it may b difficult convincing ur parent, bt as d guy n being being xtrian, I don't think u will av a problem convincing ur parent but the problem now is hw do u convince d gal' parent?
I know of some people married to d other religion n doing fine.

PhonesIs Airtel 20X Offer A Scam? by MakeADifference(op): 12:23pm On May 22, 2017
I have a airtel line which I dumped over a month ago cos I bought data and one way or the other, line didn't work.

Saw their promo and decided to try it. Good I loaded only N200. I dialled *241# and was told I wasn't eligible.

From their site, it is clearly stated -

Who is eligible for 20X offer?
All prepaid customers who have not used their Airtel line in 30 days or more. Usage includes calls (incoming or outgoing), SMS (incoming or outgoing) or data.

Yet they are playing 'sharp guys'.

No wonder most of their customers are inactive.

John 14:8–10

8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”

9 Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me?i The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority.j Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.

"The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" (which means "God with us"wink.

Matthew 1:23

TosineGuy:
I don't call Jesus God. And i will never will. I am a christian. When Jesus was on the cross, He said,'Father forgive them for they know not what they are doing'. Now, we all know that Father that Jesus was referring to was God also, at the mount when Jesus was praying, he said, ' Father, if its possible let this cup pass over me not my will but your will oh Lord'
also, when they took him, he said,' i can call my Father in heaven and He will send 12 legions of angels'. There are many examples to prove all this. But most christians just follow their pastors foolishly. My pastor says it so it must be true. Even Pastor Adeboye and Bishop Oyedepo belives that Jesus is not God based on very clear examples in the word of God. Thanks

CU should translate ...

Remove the congratulations you added, it is clear you are a 'hater'

By the way the job of academics is knowledge, not to 'translate'. So CU is doing what they are supposed to do.

datola:
CU is trying but they should translate those findings into visible developments within their locality, Nigeria and the world at large. That is when we can take them more serious. Not some over zealous theoretical Internet relevance finding publications.

Congratulations!

PoliticsRe: Unfounded Speculations About Buhari’s Health Should Stop – Tinubu by MakeADifference: 5:24am On May 08, 2017
Buhari is suffering - when a president of a 200 million ppopulation and a clinic with billions yearly budget runs abroad 5 times in 2 years for good healthcare that is SUFFERING.

When a nations currency has 6 official exchange rate to the dollar, that is SUFFERING.

When a nation owes workforce all across that is ...

When a nation does pay govt worker $50 a month formal sector wages, that is suffering.

When a nation has better rainfall (rain falls more than discos supply me power) than electricity supply, that is suffering.

When it has been shown that over 50% of grads earn peanut wages and a larger percentage are underemployed that is suffering.

Even Fasjola agrees six months is enough to make cogent change, 2 years and all we had was recession, and refreshed promises.

I am not suffering, but itsnt cos of Vuhari or his nonsense and visionless swagger and govt. No. Its God all the way.

But I won't be callous and say hardworking people are getting dividends of Buhari. That's a lie and a wicked one. Rather hard working people are being deprived of a good life by the dead govt we run at federal and state.

SillyMods:
Who is suffering? Only the lazy docile ones are. Not the hard working Nigerians who have started seeing benefits of Buhari's good governance. I'm a living witness to that.
