Bad move. Even if Rivers is a purely Christian state, you don't need to behave like those who don't know the difference between state and religion. Are you an Almajiri now? I thought you should be more educated Mr. Governor. Don't end like that one that said Allah is punishing his people with Meningitis. Say no to fake Christianity! |
When there is no vision, the people perish The most confused party in the world is leading the world's 7th largest nation. Oh Lord, please have mercy! |
I understand you are pained by these acts. Understand Nigeria is in a war between evil and good. I can tell you good can still win. I have stayed in some more terrifying places than Nigeria. The 36 + 1 major problems (govs+Mr Pres) and the over 1000 problems (senators+reps+assembly members) aren't helping GOOD in Nigeria. kingsumo: |
In any decent society, and among decent people is a thing called respect, mutual respect. So also is something called entitlement to having your own beliefs. There is something as what constitutes criticism, and something as what is hate-speech. While Nairaland on its own can't be said to be a place where hate speech is promoted, it is however a place where it thrives. There isn't a day whereby at least 50% of anti-Christian threads won't be created in the 'Religion' thread. I have engaged a number of those who create the topics and found out they are as Christian as the wanted Shekau. We all know there are teams hired by various paymasters out there to 'take over' the conversations on sites such as NL. I am beginning to suspect there exists an anti-Church team of people who basically do nothing but bash Christians and Christianity. Isn't it time you do something? I believe every one can air their opinions, but I know all the nonsense people post on NL is something which they can't post or say 1% of in South Africa talk less of UK. While we are waiting for Bihari to develop Nigeria, as the Seun of NL, you can start by ensuring conversations are free of hate and unnecessary acidity. In that way you'll be setting an example for other online communities. The downside to allowing this trend to continue is that more anti-Church people will show up, and as you see they already outnumber pro-Church people. In a matter of time, the 'Religion' thread will become theirs. They don't have anything to lose, but NL will gain a reputation as a place where they are against Christians. I speak out everyday to Church leaders, I engage in Church life and see what happens, the Church isn't the problem of Nigeria(ns), there are millions of people serving God beautifully and serving mankind. There are people who have left great jobs to go into places where no one will to offer the gospel and much needed services. There are millions whose survival is tied to the little help that churches can offer. The only crime of churches is collecting tithes and prosperity. In fact the only crime of churches is that churches prosper. But there isn't anything further away from the truth than thinking every church/pastor is a rich jet owning church. It is time you do your part and stop Nairalanders from disrespecting Christians/Pastors. I write this to you because you are definitely more intelligent than most who post topics, you would definitely know those posts are really unkind, unfair, unsubstantiated, and outrightly malicious. Thank you. |
OP, Some points 1. That education isn't we'll rewarded doesn't matter. Most lecturers won't earn N25m in a lifetime but imagine a world without lecturers. 2. How many celebrities are out there? The world can do without celebrities but can't do without primary school teachers 3. Anytime anyday people that are cut for school will study. Give em prizes or not. If unemployment is biting in general sphere, how much more in the entertainment sphere? When last did bbnaija run? There can only be one Efe from wqrri in one century. If not one millineum. I'd rather take chances as a grad of Sports Science than bank of becoming a BBNaija star. |
Take Five ... Based on No Logistics, you are a smart dude ![]() |
Some govt we've got in this country |
Unfortunately the streets will keep getting a raw deal. The street has 1. Made DSTV brand great again 2. The street fattened organizers pockets They know what the masses will bite! They feed masses with what masses want, and collect 1,000,000 times more from these same masses. Based on common sense, the organizers are the winners. They took billions in, and gave N25m and a SUV plus a lot of hype back to the masses. ItsawrapOutfit: |

Okay. Straighten your talk with facts and numbers. And the journalist who published this didn't bother adding basic info about the current woes of the economy/hospitality industry. |
EFCC is but a dream ... |
Change the Made In Nigeria behind you; Make it MESS IN NIGERIA That's much representative of you and your govt, Mr Udoma |
Am sure the judges will be tired of EFCC soon |
Once the vision for the state is lost, everything crumbles - nice one. |
This memo isn't anywhere near Rufai's thesis on "Your govt is failing". Since last year when he submitted that project, Buhari is yet to mark it. Area Fada, Buhari doesn't read letters. |
Not bad, but after how many years? And these were military rulers; military rule is something Africa never wants to be again. Good intentions but in a way you are strengthening the fact that military rule once was and is therefore a possibility. |
Nigeria spent $2.6bn on Boko Hiram victims in 2016 Nigeria shared/is sharing billions Paris loan refunds to state The same Nigeria is busy looking for loans and worried about $1.4bn It isn't the Naira that has valuation problems, it is those in charge of the Naira that are over valued. This government is overvalued. It is a govt of mismanagement. |
I borrowed something for DSS ... It is "w h a t e v e r" |
When in Nigeria, behave like a "Nigerian" 'Nigeria polis' show mercy you refused? You certainly are utopic. |
Magu matter will break something. Whether Buhari-side or SARAKI-side, and 'wetin consign us'? We are commenters-association now? We will comment the breaking when it happens. That's all. |
Buhari keeps getting 'brtter' |
I pity the day monkey will go market and not return, I've had issues with one of those things before. Not sure if it was gala now. Long time ago. buygala: |

Which sounds nicer? Loukouma or Puff-Puff? What does the stuff 'look-like" - a puff or a louko? What does it behave like? Puff or Louko? PuffPuff is the name that stuff should bear, even if im papa name am Loukoma. henryhemon: |

It may have been a "ritual", and the interesting part is the female secretary who also bagged 3 years. That's a lesson. |
While we are busy attacking Pastor David on behalf of forgiving (as if we evidence he hasnt forgiven Kemi), there is a more important matter. A lady that has hurt her father, hurt step-folks, hurt family members alike needs more than David Ibiyeomie's forgiveness A lady who has taunted and shamed females like her who she had NO BUSINESS with, a lady who regularly bullies female folk in the name of investigative journalism needs more than David Ibiyeomie's forgiveness A lady whose words lack grace, shame, or decency and is not fitting in anyway for her age needs more than David Ibiyeomie's forgiveness A lady who will go to call the most respected Church leaders and apply the most immoral stories to their characters need more than DavidIIbiyeomie's forgiveness A lady at 52 who busybodies more than a 25 year old marketplace spinster who has lost 15 boyfriends in a row, behaves in a garage-like attitude surely needs more than forgiveness. It is time you all call Keno to repent, and genuinely. Then she must RESTITUTE all she has maligned, and slandered. Then she may now seek forgiveness, and then David and others like Obj, Pa Olunloyo, Pastor Adeboye, Bishop Oyedepo, all the pretty Nollywood actresses she has attacked without reasons, and the Nigerian populace who she has made to hate her, will all forgive her and then pray for her. That's the way it works. Happy Sunday. |
Its a tough one! 1. Look for some meds to fake illness for yourself 2. Take your daughter to NYSC Zonal Inspector to see what's happening 3. If nothing, write to and deliver a SOS in a pleading tone to NYSC. If nothing comes out, then 4. Look for a lawyer. Period. A simple letter explaining your rights as a Nigerian and your rights as a corper will let them allude their brains. A life is at stake here. |
May their families have God's grace at this time. |
A simply search and 2 minutes will show you that she didn't get bail hearing, then she got bail hearing and got bail. As soon as she was out, another hot pot of soup was where she landed at another court. So she needs to get a bail hearing in that new case, and hope another person won't be waiting with another case. ziga: |
