Tinubu was conned, He was deceived, as we say "they ran him street" They made him pledge to removing oil and forex subsidy on day 1. In his desperation to be "president" he agreed. After that the inflation came sweeping in....... He had no choice but to improve wages...... Now the citizens want the subsidies back.....He has no choice, if he wants to remain president he has to bring back subsidies. Okay, now for the main problem If he does bring back subsidy, he cannot go back on the wages. So technically, he will now be paying 3 subsidies.....which will definitely make his administration the worst ever in terms of fiscal policies. The only way out of these is 1- Drastically cut down the cost of governance, make senators and HOR a part time job. All states should be represented in each sitting by a single senator and house of rep, they can rotate every 3 months. They should talk amongst themselves and send 1 person each quarter. That way the other senators and HOR have to look for other sources of livelihood. Sitting senators/HOR should only be paid sitting allowances. 2-They do not all need to live in Abuja, you can setup Starlink internet in their various state residents and meet virtually. So no cost of buying them Cars, houses, side chicks, house staff, all these monies are eventually embezzled from government coffers. 3-Every governor should live in his or state amongst his people. You cannot be a governor in plateau and be living in Abuja. You spend money to maintain and run the government house, your private residence, then the Abuja House. 4-Every state should hold a similar FEC meeting at least once every 2 weeks, These people are getting paid, The people need to see them working.Minutes of state FEC meetings should be nationally available. Get every governor to do a 1 hour question and answer session on national TV, So that random people from his state can phone in and ask them questions on what is going on in their state. This can be done quarterly. The questions can be submitted and picked with voting polls on social media. This takes the heat off the presidency. So that some states can realize they have useless governors as well. 5-States should meet with all the states counterpart of NLC,Oil and Gas marketers, market associations, security meetings, and they should get feedback from LGA Chairman covering the LGA to determine whats going on, and if issues are found they canbe addressed before it reaches federal level, some of these so called terrorist attacks in the rural villages are land disputes ! 6- State Allocation received and how it was duly spent should be published by the auditor general of the state. If discrepancies are found the state governor should be questioned in real time. The governor can enjoy his immunity till he completes office. But any governor stealing should have answered a few queries before the end of his tenure. 7-LG Chairman should also do the same, publish funds allocation at the grass root level. These will let the people see which of the elected official is looting the funds, they can compare with other nearby local governments to see development. This will foster competition among LGS Chairmen. 8-EFCC and DSS, Should keep security in each state, with intelligence. If kogi has EFCC and DSS functioning they would have arrested Yahya Bello, the fact that he wasn't arrested makes everybody know that the administration is weak, this emboldens the outlaws/Bad guys. 9-Increase the age spread in your administration, people from 18years to 99 years, should have roles. Even if they have to advise virtually, these gives a sense of everyone being carried along. Don't rely on the northern elites to suppress the masses in the north, Reach out and make friends with the MC Oluomo version of maiduguri, kano, kaduna. They exist, they might not have gone to school but they run the streets. Bring them into your government. Give them sense of involvement. Not just giving them money. Find out if there are projects that will make their lives easier, sometimes all they need are good market roads to sell their goods. There are so many ideas, that would take the heat off the president. Also re-jig your media team, you have a media team that waits for bullets before starting to take action which is usually too late. They need to have people addressing Nigerians in at least 10-15 different Languages, the majority of the voters are genZ and genY. You need an upwardly mobile, charismatic person. Someone who has energy and is very creative. He should anticipate response to policies that are going to be made and set about diffusing it slowly into the countries. He should have a well coordinated online presence. He should at anytime be able to explain your policies to a 5 year old deaf and dumb Nigerian. He should use former campaign structures to move information like a drug smuggler into the wards, and explain to the people at the grass roots, to prevent coalescing upheavals. There is a lot to be done. Your biggest mistake was relying on the elites to deliver their people as well and greasing their pockets and thinking they will "control" their people. |

You have to bring verifiable evidence. To make it Legit. |
2elliot:lol |
MrBrownJay1:I see that you have been handed a narrative as well to push ignoramusly Malta is an alleged storing / blending station prior to transportation, It is not a refinery. But i doubt you have the capacity to know the difference. Nigeria is fixing its refineries. We are not going from frying pan to fire out of desperation. There is no agreement anywhere between the government and Dangote to sell crude oil to him on completion of his refinery. 650k bpd is the output of the hardware, that doesn't necessarily mean it will run at full capacity anytime soon, there are so many other factos involved. Why doesn't he run the refinery first for the world to see, independent of government. Even if its a 1 million bpd capacity. He has not made allocation for adequate midstream, now he is trying to get the FGN to fund his midstream. You are an enemy of your own sense. Thats why you never use it. |
Slimm01:How old are you ? Since when did doing business in Nigeria make anything cheaper ? Our problem is corruption ! Dangote refinery would not solve that problem even if its built in Aso rock. Why is this going to be any different ? |
Kukutenla:You are a believer in dreams. Dangote refinery is not the solution to our problems, we might be going from frying pan to fire. If you cannot see beyond that, i will not engage with you anymore in this discourse. AS you might be lacking in mental capacity to see beyond your nose. |
Kukutenla:I met Dangote before, i was not impressed. There is more to life than just money. And,I am also blessed, I am not poor. |
In a move that could only be described as political theater at its finest, Lagos State has decided to deploy the ORO festival masquerade to handle the protest scheduled for August 1st. Yes, instead of riot police, the government will send out flamboyant masquerades to dazzle and hopefully frighten protesters into submission. The Plan: In an absurd twist, Lagos officials are betting that the sight of a giant, glittering masquerade will send protesters fleeing. The idea is that nothing says “stay home” like a towering figure in sequins and feathers, wobbling down the street. This strategy, apparently, is more about entertainment than effective crowd control. Critique: This masquerade-based strategy is a laughable slap in the face to democracy. The masquerades didn’t vote for the government, nor do they have a mandate to stifle free expression. This approach turns the protest into a circus and questions whether we’re moving towards a new form of “masquerdocracy,” where costumes, not votes, dictate political reality. As Lagos gears up for August 1st, it seems the government’s grand plan is to mix tradition with farce. The people deserve the right to protest and express their views, not be met with a spectacle that mocks their concerns. This masquerade stunt is not only a poor substitute for real governance but also a blatant disregard for democratic principles. The gods better stand down to the protesters. Why was the Oro masquerade not fixed on election day ?

Kukutenla:I am not supporting anybody blindly. Give me evidence. I am neither a fan of Dangote or a fan of Tinubu. I am also not rude to people online like some of you are. I also don't Hero worship anyone. I am a fan of a better Nigeria. |
flyinnizam:You asked me for link, i provided it. I have educated you enough. Let me see you answer your own question as well. |
flyinnizam:You are arguing, armed with information that i gave you, something you had no clue about, now that you have read it.....lol |
After doing a thorough internet search, the page where this originally appeared on News central Africa has been deleted. However, i was able to get a cached copy, whoever deleted it must think we are all Dumb. This is hard evidence of Nigerians owning facility abroad and the Tinubu government round tripping the whole oil and gas sector. This is enough grounds to call for impeachment of the president. The minister of petroleum, minister of state should all be fired. This is why there is an active Sabotage against the Dangote Refinery. Some people are sacrificing the whole country to ensure that there pockets are lined. We are all tired of the corruption and treasury looting in Nigeria.

MrBrownJay1:Thats the catch, there will never be cheaper petrol from Dangote refinery.......NEVER !! Thats the "bait". After you sell him crude then the "switch" will come. The trick is called Bait and Switch. If he can produce cheaper petrol, he doesn't need the government. Let him buy his crude oil from the open market and produce the cheaper petrol. Nobody is stopping him from 1-Buying crude anywhere he likes. 2- Selling petrol at any price to whomever he desires. If he brings Petrol and sells for 400 naira a liter, you think the government will stop him......NO He is struggling to get monopoly on Day 1. Without even a proven business model, trying to cash in on the gullibility of Nigerians. This refinery has not produced 100 litres of Petrol, instead they are struggling to corner the crude market dominant share and the petrol purchase dominant share on Day 1 of business. If thats not the craziest business model in the world, Tell me what is !!!! |
nerdjared:Noted. Thank you. |
flyinnizam:https://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-News/World-News/Indias-Top-Private-Refiner-Gets-US-License-to-Buy-Venezuelan-Crude.html See the link above, I hope you have the decency to apologize for accusing me of saying rubbish. I am waiting. |
MrBrownJay1:I am well invested in the oil and gas sector in the international markets. Nigeria is about to be played, that's why i am concerned as a Nigerian. The notion that "there will be cheaper fuel in Nigeria because of Dangote refinery is a fallacy". That's the trick, oil prices per barrel are standard all over the world. So he wont be buying the crude oil for cheap. The same reasons you listed above that make the cement prices high will also come into play in the refinery. When its time to sell petrol he will 100% sell at the market prices. He will not subsidize the price at all !! That's why he is quick to say he paid for the land and he paid 20 billion USD for the refinery. Don't forget its new refinery. It has to run for at least 2 years non stop for us to be guaranteed thats its efficient enough to provide petrol at a good price. For all we know now he might be using the whole country to bring his refinery online. Once we commit we might be indirectly funding his "private business". What i really don't understand, that makes me wary of his intentions are, Why does he need the government so much ? He has a refinery, there is crude oil available in the market, its the same price worldwide. There are petrol buyers available all over the world. Even Africa can buy all his petrol. Why doesn't he ignore Nigeria and start his business. There is no reason his business should be dependent on Nigerian Government. Let him sell his market and make money. Lets see him run the business model efficiently before he forcefully takes the whole country as a customer. |
tete7000:You make good points i agree, the part where he hires local labor. And choosing between the devil and the deep blue sea. But hopefully we have a better government that will fix the government refineries before we put all the profit of the whole country in one mans pocket. |
RepoMan007:Get well soon. |
jayce232: Good for you. |
poseidon12:If i educate you on how these works, you have to pay me. But if you read up on current Venezuela sanctions, then you can stay informed for free. |
