Why are people close to the president behaving like thugs ? Buhari had friends accomplices no one stopped a plane with his hands ? Yaradua had friends and accomplices, no one took over an office with 50 thugs upon being appointed ? Jonathan Goodluck also had friends and accomplices, they did not carry ogogoro inside the plane ? Obasanjo had friends and accomplices, they knew very well to behave, if not Obasanjo will be the first person to have them arrested and disciplined ? But Tinubu is just allowing everyone to do as they like.....No one is being held accountable, unless you are a political opponent. This is not right, he swore and oath to protect all Nigierans lives and properties. Everyday he breaks this Oath. #ArrestKWAM1

Garba Ramat on Friday illegally assumed office as the Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), despite lacking Senate confirmation and in defiance of a presidential directive to wait. Sources within the commission told BusinessDay that Ramat arrived at the NERC headquarters accompanied by no fewer than 50 political backers and armed personnel and forcibly took over operations, dislodging existing Commissioners. This illegal take over comes just one day after a statehouse press statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to the president on information and strategy, clearly stated that all nominations, including Ramat’s, were “subject to Senate confirmation” and that the current acting chairman would remain in position pending Senate approval. The Nigerian Senate is currently in recess and not scheduled to reconvene until September 23, casting doubt over the legitimacy of Ramat’s self-imposed takeover. Ramat, a former chairman of Ungogo local government area (LGA) in Kano state from 2021 to 2024, was nominated by President Bola Tinubu to replace the current NERC chairman. But according to insiders, his controversial attempt to bypass the constitutional process has set off alarm bells across Nigeria’s power sector. “This is not just illegal—it’s dangerous,” said a senior executive in the sector, who requested anonymity. “We have billions invested in this sector. Such political recklessness erodes investor confidence. NERC is a regulator, not a battleground.” According to legal experts, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission Act provides clear procedures for the appointment and removal of commissioners and the chairman. “A mere nomination does not equal appointment,” said one constitutional lawyer. “There is a tenure system at NERC, and any removal must follow due process. What happened today is a breach of that law.” Experts in the sector are monitoring the unfolding dramatic takeover and labeling it as unconstitutional and advised that the proper process be followed. Behind the scenes, political intrigue appears to be driving Ramat’s appointment which has stirred considerable concern among investors in the power sector who doubt the competence of the new appointees. BusinessDay gathered that his actions are being backed by a powerful political figure that loiters around the Presidency and has the President’s ear, but with little Knowledge of the industry. The figure is said to be instrumental in Ramat’s nomination and encouraging the power grab. “He is throwing his weight around and trying to control regulatory appointments,” said a source familiar with the power struggle. “But this one may have gone too far.” Stakeholders across the sector, including investors across the value chain, international investors, and consumer advocacy groups, have begun voicing concerns about what they describe as “a dangerous politicisation of the power regulatory framework.” “It’s troubling,” said an executive in the sector. “This is not how a regulator should be run, and it sets a terrible precedent for governance and investment in Nigeria.” As of press time, the Presidency had not issued a statement addressing the forceful takeover. cr7lomo:We dont care what happens, but its for everyone's safety for #KWAM1 to be arrested so that all those people praising him, will know that.No one is above the law. |
givedemwotowoto:I agree with you, pilot suspension is appropriate, but she must have gotten "all clear" from ATC (Air traffic control) prior to taxiing for take off. The whole thing just shows injustice, as the pilot was suspended because she called out KWAM1 ON his BS. KWAM1 should have been immediately arrested, he can be released on bail, but his arrest was necessary, he should have been tested for drugs and alcohol also immediately. The silence is getting louder on why they are dragging their feet to arrest KWAM1 and hold him accountable. He will still be arrested, why not do it now. |
No one is above the Law. The NCAA said its terrorism and it has recommended the AGF AND IGP to the needful. Lets see how long it takes them to arrest KWAM1 #ArrestKWAM1 |
On August 7, the NCAA petitioned the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to investigate the incident, which occurred during a scheduled ValueJet flight VK201. The authority alleged that Ayinde’s actions violated the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations. “What he did in most climes is considered terrorism. You cannot stop an aircraft from taking off. There is nothing that excuses it.” Mike Achimugu, NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection Source: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/08/kwam-1s-airport-conduct-amounts-to-terrorism-in-most-climes-ncaa/

Failing to arrest KWAM1 is a glaring signal that the Tinubu administration has little regard for the rule of law. When blatant federal crimes are caught on video, yet no action is taken, it erodes public trust and emboldens a dangerous “above the law” culture. This selective justice undermines governance, weakens institutions, and sends the message that fame and influence shield individuals from accountability. The government’s silence is deafening , Nigeria deserves better, and the law must be enforced impartially, without fear or favor. #ArrestKWAM1 |
SalamRushdie: I agree with you, he is more bent on trying to prove it wasnt alcohol than anything else. He doesn't even realize the gravity of the hostage situation and kidnap. He is just shouting it was water in the flask, meanwhile a lot of people on scene are corroborating the flask contained alcohol as he spilt it on the crew and pilot in annoyance when questioned. The more reason, he has to be arrested and made to face the law. |

KWAM1 must be arrested, no one is above the law. We respect his music, but some lines must never be crossed. If KWAM1 slapped Tinubu tomorrow, would an apology suffice? The solution is clear: arrest or formally summon him. Hold him accountable, just like anyone else. This sends a strong message to his circle and all Nigerians: no special treatment. Next time he’s at the airport, he’ll think twice before breaking rules or smuggling contraband. Arrest KWAM1 now and prove the government is fair to everyone. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DNDSQVEs8I_/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

helinues:You cannot commit a crime of that magnitude and apologize. Even if he will be pardoned, he has to face the law. Nigeria is not a banana republic....this is not a zoo. |
Chinjo2: We will not stop till he is arrested. The videos will be sent to embassies in Nigeria, USA,UK, Canada if nothing is done by Nigerian Law enforcement. By the time they cancel all his Visas and declare him an unstable flying risk......we are only asking for him to be brought to justice like everybody else. |
chukwutee: I am not Ibo, but the days of hiding under Obedient to commit crimes are over. KWAM1 like everybody else has to be arrested and held accountable. |
yemmit90:KWAM1 broke the law, and he has to be held accountable....the singular act of hostage taking and kidnapping of the aircraft and its passengers has to be addressed in court. Keyamo is in no position to be the judge, jury and executioner.....thats gross abuse of power on Keyamo's part. KWAM1 has to be arrested and made to be accountable for his action, throwing alcohol on the crew staff and pilot and assaulting them. The truth has to come to light. |
helinues:Whether you like it or not KWAM1 must stand before the law of the land and address his inappropriate felony behavior. There is a law in Nigeria and he has broken the law. |
KWAM1 has to be arrested because tomorrow when somebody else commits a similar crime of the same gravity........and the government tries to arrest and act. We would all refer to KWAM1. |
The time for talking is over. KWAM1 has committed federal crimes on recorded video, acts so brazen they threatened lives and hijacked public order. Yet here we are, months later, and the man remains free, untouchable, shielded by political patronage and ethnic politics. President Tinubu can delay, dodge, or deflect all he wants. But justice delayed is justice denied, and this administration risks becoming complicit in lawlessness if KWAM1 continues to walk free. This is not about politics. It’s about rule of law,the foundational principle every Nigerian citizen is entitled to. Former officials like Saraki, Sirika, and even controversial figures have faced courts. KWAM1 is no different. Allowing KWAM1 to evade arrest sends a dangerous message: “If you have power and fame, you are above the law.” This undermines democracy, fuels impunity, and chips away at citizens’ trust in government. The people on that plane, the public at large, deserve justice. The government swore an oath to protect lives and property, not to shield criminals. It’s time for the President and the security agencies to act decisively. KWAM1 must be arrested, charged, and made to face trial like every Nigerian. No more excuses. No more delays. Let the law take its course. https://limewire.com/d/FNfTM#ima7lnQ2yp

helinues:I see you dont understand my point...k1,k2 or. k10 He must face the law like everyone else. |
Scarrr:You are describing yourself. |
Softmirror: Oh now its petty. Exposing criminal acts is now petty ? Is Boko haram petty too ? Is Kidnapping petty too ? Are yahoo boys petty too ? Where do we draw the petty line ? |
helinues:Who is K2 ? |
Softmirror: Go and read the meaning of Hostage and kidnapping. Hostage: If you want to leave the airport, you must carry me (Thats a hostage situation, even if it lasts 5 seconds) Kidnap: Nobody leaves (pilot and passengers) till i allow, and you physically stand in front of the aircraft. |
Nearly 3 years in, currency devaluation and subsidy removal haven’t lowered prices. Interest rates at 30% crush retirees and the vulnerable, over 70% of Nigerians lack formal paychecks to cope. The government’s silence on targeted relief deepens suffering, families struggle with basics, small businesses fail, and poverty worsens. |
helinues:If someone is seen on TV murdering another person. He now apologizes afterwards......I guess he is free to go ? |
KWAM1 needs to be arrested for been seen on video obstructing an aircraft in the airport endangering the lives of the pilot and the law. abiding citizens inside the aircraft. A president should be seen to be on the right side of the law and not to allow some citizens flout the laws and commit criminal offenses without any repercussions. |
We should leave KWAM1 who was seen on video holding an aircraft hostage and kidnapping the Pilot and passengers against their will And arrest verydarkman ?
|
KWAM1 must walk the line of accountability like every other Nigerian. This is not up for debate , he should be invited, appear in court, and get a court date. His actions, caught clearly on video, amount to federal offences. The government cannot turn a blind eye. We fought too hard for this democracy to now start wishing for the days of military rule because civilian leaders refuse to uphold the law. Arrest KWAM1. Let him get a lawyer and defend himself in court. This is how to send a clear message to the arrogant “Do you know who I am?” crowd that nobody is above the law in Nigeria. |
In every functioning society, the rule of law is the great equalizer, the invisible line that ensures the powerful, the famous, and the ordinary citizen are all bound by the same code of conduct. When that line is blurred, chaos creeps in, and a dangerous precedent is set. The recent incident involving King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM1, is not just another celebrity scandal, it is a test of Nigeria’s commitment to justice, fairness, and public safety. Eyewitness accounts and credible reports allege that KWAM1’s actions directly interfered with the operations of a commercial flight, endangering passengers and crew. In many jurisdictions, such conduct would not only trigger swift arrest but also be prosecuted under laws relating to obstruction, unlawful interference with an aircraft, or even acts of terrorism. His subsequent public apology, delivered after mounting pressure, does not absolve him of legal accountability. If anything, it tacitly acknowledges wrongdoing. But apologies cannot substitute for the due process of law. They do not erase the potential trauma of passengers, nor do they safeguard against future occurrences by others emboldened by inaction. Nigeria has witnessed high-profile figures face the courts before. Dr. Bukola Saraki, as Senate President, appeared before the Code of Conduct Tribunal. Hadi Sirika, a sitting aviation minister, has faced legal scrutiny. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, a serving minister, has appeared in court. Former Inspector General of Police Tafa Balogun stood trial. Senator Abbo face senate committe with Remi Tinubu asking him tough questions. Yahya bello facing courts for alleged corruption Nnamdi Kanu for incitement and treason If these individuals , some, wielding immense political clout, could be summoned and held accountable, then the question arises: who is KWAM1 not to answer before the law?
