Israel’s ambassador to the UAE is being summoned home from his post over “undignified” behaviour at an Emirati bar that upset the UAE, according to Hebrew media reports. Israel’s government was forced to recall its ambassador to the Gulf state, Yossef Avraham Shelley, after the UAE said it was no longer willing to accept him as ambassador, Israel’s Channel 12 news reported on Tuesday. Hebrew news site N12 reported earlier that Shelley antagonised the UAE by showing up to a bar in the Gulf state with several Israelis, including women, and acting in a way that UAE officials told Israel was “unacceptable and even harmed our dignity”. The UAE normalised ties with Israel in 2020 as part of the Abraham Accords brokered by US President Donald Trump. Abu Dhabi has emerged as Israel’s closest Arab partner in the region amid an uproar over Israel’s war on Gaza, which leading human rights groups and scholars have declared is a genocide. The UAE is the one Arab country that Israel’s foreign minister has been able to visit since the war in Gaza erupted. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar travelled to the UAE in January 2025 before a temporary ceasefire in Gaza was reached. The UAE’s move would be remarkable in its own right. The tiny Gulf state is home to 10 million people, of whom just 10 percent are Emirati citizens. The country counts South Asian labourers, British expats, Russian oligarchs and flashy influencers among its residents. Dubai is known for being the Gulf region’s nightlife capital. Hebrew media reported last week that Shelley was out on a Friday night in Abu Dhabi with friends and acted in an “undignified” manner that “crossed the boundaries of personal space” on Friday evening. Shelley previously served as Israeli ambassador to Brazil, where he was at the centre of two scandals. In one case, Shelley was photographed having dinner with former Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro. The image of their dinner on Instagram appeared to show lobster scribbled out in black. Jewish kosher diet rules prohibit the consumption of shellfish. In 2023, Haaretz reported that Shelley personally responded to an Israeli visa inquiry by a Brazilian woman. He told her in correspondence and in video chats that she needed to meet him in person before he would help her obtain a visa to visit Israel. In a video call with her, Shelley appeared shirtless and lying on a bed. “When I turned on the camera, I saw he was lying on the bed, sweating,” the woman recounted. “He said he’d just returned from a walk. It was very inappropriate. I asked him if he’d rather talk later, and he said, ‘No, let’s talk now.’ He asked to meet with me in person and invited me to dinner in Brasilia. I felt pressured and harassed.” Shelley was later named the director general of the prime minister’s office. Shelley was named ambassador to the UAE in November 2024. “Yossi served as a very, very effective ambassador in Brazil,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at the time. “He made connections there not only with the president of Brazil, but also with the Brazilian media and did a wonderful job there. He also did important and difficult work in the Prime Minister’s Office during this period.” Source:https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/israeli-ambassador-uae-being-sent-home-over-undignified-behaviour-bar

Botragelad:The world has moved past genocide perpetrators like you. The light in this world is way stronger than the darkness and evil you preach all the time. There will be a Palestinian state, whether Israel likes it or not. Palestine will be free from all that genocide and Apartheid. The world sees through your victim-hood. |
FreeStuffsNG:You make good points...Israel is afraid of an armed Palestinians, because of the atrocities they have committed in the name of fighting Hamas. Only way there can be peace is to make them completely independent, Airport and business in Palestine and give them their passport and have a demilitarized zone between them, like we have in north Korea and south Korea. If Hamas drops their arms....Israel will kill all of them without batting an eyelid....They will kill Palestinians and Hamas alike. They wont spare anyone.Hostages should be released with a deal in place. Signed by all the factions with witnesses. |
Palestine is the Phoenix of the Middle East Only God can cancel them. They will rise again , rebuilt, refined, unstoppable. Forever from the ashes. Forever defiant. #FREE PALESTINE |

Where was this information obtained ? I looked at the IMF website. There is nothing to this effect. Please verify and show us the original source, not just Nigerian newspapers. Show us the link of where IMF said this.....We should be careful with spreading false information.

While ordinary Nigerians are told to “endure economic hardship like labor pains,” our elected governors are padding their egos with billion-naira government mansions. The recent exposé, spotlighted by the U.S. Mission in Nigeria, doesn’t just reflect poor judgment, it exposes a pattern of elite indifference and systemic economic abuse. Organizations like BudgIT Nigeria rightly condemn how basic needs, schools, health clinics, and agriculture, are chronically underfunded, while palatial residences gather dust. Meanwhile, @CISLACNigeria drives the point deeper: “More money, little accountability, and no priority.” These aren’t isolated incidents, they are symptoms of a corrupt fiscal immune system. Nigeria’s poor are being emotionally anesthetized with propaganda, gaslit to embrace suffering as patriotic while their leaders live like monarchs on taxpayer blood. It is an egregious betrayal of public trust, one that widens the inequality gap and kneecaps development.

Guestmale:1. Non-Revenue Generating Projects Dominate Most projects listed – from roads to hospitals and irrigation are vital, yes, but they are not income-yielding assets. A nation cannot sustainably fund non-profit public works with foreign debt and expect to stay solvent. There’s no projected return on investment (ROI) on a dual carriageway or even a solar plant without PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) structure. 2. Debt is Being Used as a Band-Aid, Not Leverage • According to the Debt Management Office (DMO), Nigeria’s debt servicing cost is now over 60% of its revenue. This is fiscal suicide. • The ₦200 trillion debt ceiling, mostly unhedged, means entire national budgets will soon go toward paying interest, with no principal reduction. 3. No Monetization Blueprint • Where is the cashflow model for AKK gas pipeline? • How do we monetize the Lafia Bypass or Kaduna Rail when Nigerians can’t afford ₦200 fuel or ₦1,200 train tickets? Projects are built without private sector concession plans, foreign user partnerships, or exportable revenue. This is state-funded socialism disguised as infrastructure. 4. Inflation and Naira Collapse Still Unchecked • If these projects were economically catalytic, we’d expect currency stabilization and increased investor confidence. • Instead, foreign direct investment (FDI) has declined, inflation remains over 30%, and the Naira is falling faster than ever. • This means the debt has failed to inspire confidence, a key marker of misdirected economic policy. 5. Repeat of the Buhari Trap • This model mirrors Buhari’s infrastructure-without-revenue trap: build roads, rail, hospitals with Chinese/World Bank loans, and hope the economy somehow lifts itself. • Tinubu has taken this model and multiplied the debt by 10x, but the economic impact is negligible. Infrastructure is noble. But when you borrow $21 billion+ with no direct monetization plan, you’re creating legacy debt for consumption. It’s modern feudalism: spend now, mortgage the future. |
What President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration calls “economic reform” is, in truth, a grand pyramid of debt, mortgaging Nigeria’s future to fund present-day consumption. The numbers are staggering, but more troubling is their trajectory: ₦12.6 trillion in debt under Jonathan, now spiraling toward ₦200 trillion under Tinubu. And still, no dams, no ports, no bullet trains, no mega factories. Nigeria’s debt today isn’t buying wealth-generating infrastructure. Instead, it’s being channeled into: • Subsidy offsets for petrol and food • FX buffer injections to artificially hold the naira • Civil service overhead • Palliative funds with no long-term multiplier From Republic to Debt Colony While countries like Rwanda and Vietnam borrow to build, Nigeria borrows to breathe. Without clear repayment strategies or ROI-linked targets, this is not nation-building. It’s nation-leasing. Every Eurobond, every IMF draw, every China Exim agreement becomes a silent lien on: • Future tax revenue, • Future natural resource flows, • And your children’s freedom to make fiscal decisions. With over 60% of all national revenue now devoted to debt service, the budget for development has vanished. Hospitals are still underfunded. Schools still use chalkboards from 1994. The national grid still flickers like a dying candle. Austerity by Proxy The worst part? This debt does not lead to growth, but it imposes austerity: • SMEs can’t borrow; banks prefer lending to government. • Importers can’t hedge; the naira’s volatility kills inventory turnover. • Investors won’t commit; they fear a forced debt restructuring like Ghana. Ordinary Nigerians, meanwhile, are taxed like they live in Monaco but served like they live in Mogadishu. A Social Explosion Waiting to Happen History teaches us that countries with unsustainable debt + currency devaluation + youth unemployment are ticking time bombs. Tunisia in 2011. Greece in 2009. Argentina perennially. Nigeria is entering that fiscal Bermuda Triangle, with oil theft, food inflation, and zero savings buffers making the spiral irreversible unless checked. The Ask What the ADC is demanding isn’t revolutionary. It’s elementary due diligence: • Disclose loan terms. • Link each loan to a cash-generating outcome. • Cap total external debt-to-GDP at 30%. • Pause borrowing for at least 12 months. Because without transparency, accountability, and productive use of capital, Nigeria isn’t just borrowing money. It’s borrowing time. |
descarado:Why are you so pained and trying to get personal ? The immigrants they are complaining about were granted visas in Nigeria by their Embassy Why are they complaining now....why didn't they stop issuing the visas, when they became full. Do you know they are still issuing these visas till tomorrow.... They are enslaving people...they want immigrants, but they want immigrants that will work without visa status so that they can be exploited to do menial jobs, britons will not do. I have said it and i stand by it. Helping 5 people to enslave 50 other people is not helping. Its a Scam. JAPA is a SCAM. |
“I’m Nigerian too…” That’s the bait. Then comes the shame, restrictions, and exploitation , aimed ONLY at Nigerians. The UK’s Modern Slavery Scheme: 1. CoS Visa = Invitation 2. Arrival = Excitement 3. No Renewal = Trap 4. Can’t Switch. Can’t Work. Can’t Return. Cheap labor. No rights. Full silence. Kemi is the Cover. Nigerian face, British agenda. Calm tone, brutal policies. She doesn’t “represent” you , she disarms you. WAKE UP: This isn’t immigration. It’s legalized enslavement. Don’t react. Organize. Educate. Escape. |
Exousiang01:lol......Imagine giving 100 billion to a politician that has never been an employed staff, has never owned and managed a profitable business, just a popular person that won elections. He has no idea how to manage that amount of money. The higher ups know these things, but they are worried about elections if the governors go against them |
They force democracy on the whole world. But now Majority wants a Palestinian state......all of a sudden, they dont know what democracy is anymore, when it doesn't serve their interest. It’s just a mask. Behind it is selective consent , you can only win if you agree with the system’s interests. “They don’t care if you scream. they only care if you obey.” Palestinians are not denied their state because the world opposes it. They’re denied because power prefers imbalance. A free Palestine would disrupt the balance that fuels weapons, fear, and control. Let’s stop pretending. Give them their state. Give them their dignity. Or stop calling it democracy. |
The UK opened the gates, smiling. They welcomed thousands with “shortage jobs” and sweet CoS visas. But it was bait, cleverly laced. Now the rules have changed. The ladder has been pulled up. Those who came in hope now find themselves trapped: • Their jobs delisted. • Salary thresholds raised. • Renewals impossible. Without status, they become ghost workers—no rights, no leverage. Exploitation is next: Warehouse jobs. 12-hour shifts. £5-an-hour cash pay. No voice. No way out. The JAPA Scam “Imagine a man raising sharks. Every day, he finds 40 desperate souls trying to cross an ocean. He promises safety. He loads them into a boat. In the middle of the sea, he says: ‘The boat is failing.’ He throws 30 overboard—to feed the sharks. The remaining 10 reach land and are told, ‘Be grateful. If you don’t like it—go back.’ And tomorrow, the sharks are fed again.” That’s how this system works. Every new batch doesn’t know what happened to the last. The few that make it are told to stay quiet or leave. And so, the circle continues. |
There should be a national ranking system. Whereby performing LGA Chairmen are rated in tier 1 Intermediate performing LGA Chairmen are rated in tier 2 Could do better LGA Chairmen are rated tier 3 Same should apply to governors. This should be in commensurate with the funds they get. We have some LGA chairmen with more vision for their LG, Than some governors. |
I am genuinely happy for him , Aliko has worked relentlessly, and it shows. But amidst the accolades, let’s never forget to guard our health. It’s the true capital. And I’ll say this without fear or apology: Aliko Dangote would make a fine President of Nigeria. He may not be a career politician ,but show me one other Nigerian of his stature who has kept his wealth within our borders, reinvesting in industries that employ our people and feed our economy. He doesn’t just preach Nigeria , he builds Nigeria. And if the day ever comes when he chooses to rise to that calling, he’ll find himself flanked by millions of silent patriots who’ve been waiting for a leader who puts nation above ego. |
The petty way Senator Akpabio has handled Senator Natasha Akpoti, just makes the whole world know, that Nigerians are in need of a better, more matured, democratic senate president, Someone who is not ruled by his Ego, someone who you can agree to disagree with....... Someone who doesn't see a different opinion as a personal attack...... Someone who is okay not being worshiped........ Someone who commands respect without forcefully demanding it from his own party and opposition members ......... Someone who carries everyone along and doesn't bring his ideas from home to the senate and try to enforce it on everyone...... He has denied the people of Kogi Central senatorial representation in the red chambers due to a personal misunderstanding with their Senator.... |

Extreme Poverty, undiagnosed mental illness or drugs was involved |
These kind of news is designed to deceive the public. Why dont you list all the other places that we owe ? The IMF debt was the least of our Debts ? We owe world bank ? We owe Chinese Bank ? |
What could be the motive for killing him ? I am wondering ? |
DMCY:Apologize after you have removed her from the committee she chairs....you have stripped her of everything you gave her. All she has left is her senatorial seat given to her by the people of Kogi Central. Thats the only thing they cannot take from her !!!! If Akpabio can take away her senatorial seat. He will go it out of vengeance !! If they had left her as the chair of the committee, which is at Akpabio discretion, i would have advised her to apologize. But If Akpabio continues to punish her everyday he wakes up......If na me i no go apologize !!! If i apologize, make i die !!! Na senate president you be....you no be God !!! They should allow the senator back on her elected seat......There are a lot of senators in the USA senate that don't agree with each other or even see face to face. This paternalistic approach in the Nigerian senate has to stop. Akapbio is in contempt of court if he doesn't allow her to take her duly elected seat. He is also in violation of the Constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria. By denying the people of Kogi central representation in the legislative arm of government, due to a seemingly personal feud with Senator Natasha Akpoti. |
sailor2011: She is a senator of the federal republic of Nigeria....equal to every other senator in the red Chamber. There is a court order from a court nullifying her suspension. She has pledged to the rules when she swore an oath to be senator...you cannot have her swearing every market day. If you have punished her already....she can decide whether to apologize or not. If you punish me for a crime....I will not apologize (but thats me) Akpabio will not remain senate president forever and Nigerians will never forget this act of impunity against a fellow senator and the judicial arm of governement. |
The ongoing suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan represents a direct assault on democracy and rule of law. Elected by the people of Kogi Central, she has been unjustly removed from office under the leadership of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, allegedly for a seating dispute, but widely viewed as retaliation for her public misconduct allegations against him. A Federal High Court has since ordered her reinstatement, declaring the suspension illegal. Yet, the Senate refuses to comply, defying judicial authority and disenfranchising over one million Nigerians. This is not just about one senator, it’s about whether Nigerian democracy can survive unchecked power in the legislature. Worse, her committee chair was handed to a senator from Akpabio’s home state, hinting at ethnic favoritism and authoritarian consolidation. The intimidation of female senators further reveals a culture of silencing dissent. This is a constitutional crisis. The Senate must obey court orders, restore Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, and ensure no lawmaker is above democratic accountability. Democracy dies not in chaos, but in silence. Nigeria must not stay silent. |
A court of competent jurisdiction has already nullified her suspension. It is therefore unbecoming and dangerous , for Senate President Akpabio, as a key figure in the legislative arm, to openly defy the judiciary. Such defiance erodes the delicate balance of power and sets a precedent that undermines the very foundation of democracy. Regardless of political discomfort, the rule of law must prevail. Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan deserves her rightful place in the Red Chamber as the duly elected representative of Kogi Central. Let the judiciary’s decision stand respected not trampled. Even the act of removing her from the committee which she heads is an act targeted at selective discrimination probably gender based. She has served her punishment. Why punish her twice. This goes against the law of double jeopardy. The act of continuous punishment should stop. That committee head removal can also be nullified by the courts, if she goes back to the courts. Its high time the legislative arm realizes, There is still law and a valid constitution in the land The world is watching. |
Social ills, No jobs, they still need to eat and pay accommodation The government doesn't provide jobs Tinubu only appoints 3-5 people on Fridays with appointments And these people usually are not people that really need the jobs Just to quell political uprisings against his presidency 2nd term ambition |
Only thing this government announces is appointments to 1-People who have been there since 1999 2-NEPO babies of politicians 3-Politicians without any technocratic know-how 4-Children of oligarchs, who dont even need the job in real life and would end up delegating a minion to oversee it. 5-Tribal members and party members. The people who would never get appointments or Jobs **** Nigerians who really need jobs to survive and feed their families***** |
gidgiddy:You can leave, dont let the door hit you on your way out. |
Here’s the brutal truth: The worst punishment for attention-junkies is silence, not outrage. A certain self-proclaimed crusader is running a desperate PR circus, baiting the federal government for a reaction. But here’s the alpha strategy: Ignore her. Fully. Ruthlessly. Publicly. The moment you respond, you validate her delusions. The goal isn’t to counter her , it’s to erase her from the national radar. Imagine a Nigerian official live on CNN or BBC being asked about her… and they respond: “Kemi who?” [smirks] “I don’t know who that is.” Boom. That’s how you shatter a fragile ego in one breath. |
