Pastor PLC: The way Nigerian insult Jonathan is quite shocking. The same people that claimed through the mentally retarded animal {Fani Kayode} who called himself a historian, and foolishly called Nigerian 3rd Marine Commando a "Yoruba Force" that the Ijaws are related to them in culture, still want to pull Jonathan down by all means.

There is nothing wrong if Obama invites him.

Please, my post is not to insult the entire Yoruba race, only that PLC is a bit back for few days on Nairaland.

My wife delivered a bouncing baby boy here in Sweden.

If you can insult FFK, why can't others insult our "Kindergarten Presiden" aka Retardeen??

Orji Kalu Plays The Ethnic Game Card

By James Ubadike

Like most Nigerian politicians who resort to playing the ethnic card when cornered in a tight situation, Orji Uzor Kalu, the controversial immediate past governor of Abia State, has now alleged that his new  mansion in the high brow Park View Estate in Ikoyi, Lagos State, has been sealed off by the state Land Use Charge Office, a parastatal of the Ministry of Finance, for his recent public criticism of the government for the relocation of 14 destitute individuals to Anambra State.

Kalu’s residence was sealed off yesterday by the agency for Kalu’s refusal to pay the land use charge after three notices have been sent to him in the last three months.

But in an attempt to give the state government an ethnic colouration, Kalu instructed his publicity consultant, Emeka Obasi who served as his Commissioner for Information, to issue a statement on his behalf alleging that the Lagos state government is persecuting him for not only criticizing the government’s relocation of the beggars from Anambra State but also for threatening to sue the authorities after a seven-day notice.

Though Governor Babatunde Fashola directed that Kalu’s eye-popping property be de-sealed on hearing of the action of the parastatal, his special adviser on the media, Hakeem Bello, has dismissed the allegation that the state government is punishing the former governor for the threat to sue the Fashola administration.

“Mr Fashola is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, so he is not afraid of law suits”, he said to correspondents last night on the phone. “In fact, litigation is a civilized way of resolving disputes, rather than allowing people to take the law into their hands.”

Bello said that no one who knows Kalu “very well would have taken the threat seriously. He was merely grandstanding just to receive an applause from those who did not know him. The only court he goes to is the one in his village of Igbere which he established when he was a governor.

“At the end of his so-called ultimatum, he laughably said that he backed down because unnamed Yoruba people were on their knees begging him not to press the so-called charges”.

Bello accused accused the ex governor of playing to the gallery by attempting to rush to the media and shouting victimisation so that he would be projected as a victim of government hard tactics.

“But he knows that he is a land use charge defaulter, and the law does not smile at those who deliberately run foul of it. Let him tell Nigerians how much land charge he has paid after paying hundreds of millions of naira to acquire the building”.

The Park View Estate property is one of the known capital assets acquired by the erstwhile governor since he became the Abia State chief executive in 1999. He moved into the place from his residence on Samuel Adedoyin Street in Victoria Island where he was living before becoming governor.

Kalu’s house in Potomac Park, Maryland, United States, is one of the biggest in this estate which is among the most expensive areas of the United States inhabited by the likes of General Colin Powell, the first African American Secretary of State who also made history when he became the first black to serve as the National Security Adviser under Ronald Reagan and later became the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under George Bush Snr and Bill Clinton.

Kalu put the Potomac Park property on sale last year after his divorcee female friend, Chinwe Masi, died mysteriously in it in August, 2010.

“He had begun to find it pretty difficult to maintain the palatial because money is no longer flowing as it when he was a governor”, disclosed an online report in 2011.

While serving as governor, Kalu established the SLOK Airline but the licence was withdrawn by the aviation authorities after a series of serious sharp practices were discovered.

Kalu shifted the airline to the Gambia but it has since collapsed.

Another major asset he acquired while working as governor is The Sun newspapers based in Lagos. His earlier periodical newspaper which he set up as a private businessman in Apapa before his sojourn into the lucrative Nigerian politics, Every Woman, failed due to poor management and a lack of financial resources.

Though Kalu always asks his spin doctors like Emeka Obasi to cast him in the image of an Igbo fighter for political purposes, he has always opposed popular moves by the Igbo people.

He led the Abia State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) delegates to vote against the former highly respected vice president, Dr Alex Ekwueme, in the PDP primaries in Jos in 1999 and in Abuja in 2003.

In fact, he still boasts of how he donated N100m to General Olusegun Obasanjo in 1998 to ensure Ekwueme’s defeat, even though this was the brightest chance the Igbo had to produce Nigeria’s president since the end of the Nigerian civil war in 1970.

Kalu is one of the erstwhile governors  standing trial by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for monumental corruption.

He could have built an apt complex on virgin lands around Iba etc where there are lands and then relocate them. The idea of displacing them without providing an alternative is mean.

So Fashola should start giving them free accommodation as a reward for illegal occupation of land that isn't theirs abi??

Nice reward for illegality because they're poor....

Wise man make I tell you...

The government has a binding social contract with it's citizens. This contract contains certain duties and responsibilities of the government. And one of the duties of the government is to "provide" for it's citizens. Both the rich an the poor.

The govement builds infrastructures like hospitals, roads, schools etc. and majority of these infrastructures are cited in the urban areas. Now how does a poor man who resides in the rural area with no access to these roads, schools and hospitals benefit from the government which he also has as much tights to as those living in the cities?

In a democracy, the government derives it's powers from the citizens, which invariably means that the citizens are sovereign.

It's is a breach of this social contract for the government to render it's citizens homeless instead of doing otherwise.

Lagosians are not only those who can afford houses but also those who can't and the government have a moral obligation to satisfy these people in different social statuses.

So you're argument is weak and of no substance.

Only an irresponsible government t renders it's citizens homeless in the name of development.

Poverty isn't an excuse for lawlessness. Being poor doesn't give you the right to live under Oshodi bridge, shyte in the gutter and procreate in bus-stops!!

If Lagos is too hard for you to survive move back to your village!!

Abi dem bury their placenta for Lagos

Why do people prefer to live like pigs and goats in Lagos when they can afford a decent living in their villages??

Obasanjo Remains Our Leader- S/West PDP

The South West zone of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has passed a vote of confidence on former President Olusegun Obasanjo, saying he remains a strong leader and mentor of the party in the country.

The PDP Caretaker Committee Chairman in the zone, Chief Ishola Filani, spoke at the party’s rally in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State just as the party’s zonal secretary, Chief Pegba Otemolu, denied the alleged
exclusion of the ex-president in the affairs of the party.

Filani said the South West PDP leadership and state chapters in the zone have confidence in Obasanjo, who, according to him, has made people of Yoruba land proud with his various achievements both as former military and civilian leader in the country.

He said, “Obasanjo is the only person who was head of state under the military, who was twice president as civilian president and who has continued all over the world to look for peace and ensure that governments internationally are in order.

“I, on behalf of the six states in the South West PDP, tell the whole world that the PDP in the South West pass vote of confidence on him.

We have implicit confidence in Baba Obasanjo as our father and leader.”

The event also featured the defection of about 5,000 members of opposition parties into the PDP.

The event was attended by the Osun PDP Chairman, Alhaji Gani Olaoluwa; his Oyo State counterpart, Yinka Taiwo, Ogun PDP Chairman, Adebayo Dayo, Prince Buruji Kashamu, Hon. Kayode Amusan, Elder Yemi Akinwonmi, Otunba Leke Adekoya, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye, Alhaji Agboola Alausa, among other leaders.

Fashola Replies Amnesty International, To Build 1,008 Flats In Badia

Posted by: Channels Television Posted date: August 12, 2013 In: Headlines | comment : 1

[]The Lagos state governor, Babatunde Fasola, in a counter response to allegations made by Amnesty International has refuted claims that his administration is displacing some residents by pulling down their buildings.

A report by the organisation stated that an estimated 9,000 residents of Badia East lost their homes or livelihoods. However senior officials in the Lagos state government had claimed that the area was a rubbish dump.

According to Oluwatosin Popoola who is Amnesty International’s Nigeria researcher, “The effects of February’s forced eviction have been devastating for the Badia East community where dozens are still sleeping out in the open or under a nearby bridge exposed to rain, mosquitoes and at risk of physical attack”.

However, Governor Fashola countered Amnesty’s allegation that the government’s plan is to solve problems and ensure better living for residents.  “That is why I have committed to build 1,008 flats in Badiya, to take people out of living on the refuse heap.”

He added that his government has decided to pay attention to the community which had hitherto been ignored. “That place has been there since I was a child and we have carried on as if nothing happened”.

“The easiest thing to do is to take a bull-dozer and bulldoze a slum because governments don’t create slums, it is people who do.”

He added that his administration’s plan is to “bulldoze away your difficult conditions” by providing roads, drainages and primary healthcare centres.

take dat: A man without pants laughed at man with holey pants. Hypocrisy

Very true
Politics / APC Uses Money To Rig Election - Says PDP by malc619(m): 12:42pm On Aug 12, 2013
Everybody Knows APC Uses Money To Rig Election- PDP

The acting National Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Tony Okeke has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of using money to induce votes during elections.

Okeke said “everybody in Nigeria knows that APC uses money to rig elections” adding that it will be “a very big joke” to accuse the PDP of doing the same.

Okeke further argued that the APC “does not have internal democracy” alleging that they “impose candidates, they never go through the process of primaries”.

He was speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s Sunday flagship programme, Politics Today.

Speaking further, Okeke alleged that the APC usually impose “unpopular candidates” hence the need to use money to induce the electorates especially in the states they (APC) control.

He insisted that “it is indisputable that the APC spends a lot of money during elections” when asked if he had personally witnessed the allegation.

He continued “if you ask anybody on the street, especially in the streets where they control”.

Okeke also noted that “both their interim national chairman and other interim senior officers of the party, all their concentration is on Anambra election” warning that they will “flood the place with money as they normally do”
