More than 100 people have died in southern Nigeria after a tanker carrying petrol crashed. The authorities say the vehicle did not immediately burst into flames so nearby villagers rushed to collect the fuel.

Tell me one thing that is right with this Saraki-led Senate. Even the members of the Senate are punished and expelled for criticizing or opposing him. Dino is his thug and bad carrier to Saraki's wife. Committee head members are his boys. He got to be the SP through scheming and anti-party activities and had worked against the government and his party all through. He undermines the VP and the president, thinking that would further his ambition to rule the country, but it seems the result is the direct opposite of what he hoped.

Just tell me one good thing about his leadership.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has declared that he has no preferred candidate in the forthcoming general elections.

Obasanjo said he would not tell Nigerians to vote or not to vote for any particular candidate, but should vote wisely.

Obasanjo, who some people believed had decided to support Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said he needed Nigerians to vote for a credible candidate.

He made the remarks at the 27th annual Owu National Convention, held in Iwo, Osun on Saturday.

The former President, however, urged Nigerians to vote for credible candidates, who can liberate the country.

In his remark, Chairman, Supreme Council of Owu Obas, Oba Hammed Oyelude, said Owu, being the largest Yoruba speaking ethnic group in the South West, has been contributing to the development of Nigeria.

Hammed, who is the Olowu of Owu Kuta, said Royal Union of Owu People (ROUP) is not a political party, but must contribute to the policy direction of the country.

He called on Owu people to participate in politics, in order to have a say in the running of the affairs of the country and be able to contribute their quota.

Oyelude also called on sons and daughters of Owu to support and vote for any Owu indigene contesting for any political office.

OBJ, Yara'dua, GEJ and Buhari all became presidents without scheming. Schemers are against God's plan and I assure have failed in the spiritual realm before the material one. Schemers have one thing common with them - they don't get the one thing they mostly desired. Saraki, Atiku, FFK, Omokri and Kanu would always get the momentary attention but would not be delivered to higher purpose.

So, ask anyone with Buhari, we don't have a single doubt as regards Buhari's success, because God's promise has never failed.

Yes i believe its his right and should be used for the right intentions, and its our duty to also to question his intent and sincerity and educate the public about the contents of the bill he refused to accent and the flimsiness of his excuse. A president who has eroded the trust of many could abuse his constitutional powers for selfish interest as far as we are concerned.

We hoped he would improve upon the electoral process he inherited so loopholes observed in the last election can be blocked, but it seems he is bent on keeping the system as was. Shame!

Motive is paramount for most of us. That's why the "Why?" keeps cropping up here.

Saraki, you'll agree with me is one of the craftiest fellows that this administration has had to deal with. Anything from him needs to be looked at about 20 times - and with a magnifying glass.

I dont remember mentioning PDP in my question. The NASS is controlled by both parties so they could have stopped it along party lines from going to the presidency. Again, when did the judiciary's problem become Buhari's problem?

I think what should be asked is, what are the President's rights to assent or not to assent in this matter?

Saraki scheme his way from the beginning of this administration to be able to engineer Nigeria for his selfish ends. He has worked against rather than for this administration right from the onset, but God has thwarted all his plans.

Not only this: All laws not made in the interest of the people and the country should be rejected by PMB.

Why the sudden appearance of sister Nneka Calistus Kanu? Why the surge in Boko Haram Attacks? Why the rise in kidnappings? Why the attacks on INEC and the electoral processes? Why the attacks on social empowerment programs, why..., why..., why...?

I also learnt they don't want the use of card readers and the governorship and national assembly elections should be conducted first.

All these and many more are for them to be able to determine the presidential election or cause confusion and make the election impossible which will later be blamed on Buhari.

This is politics sister. The comparison (akin to Kanu's Jubril analogy) is just to diminish your appeal and make you less attractive to the voting or whichever target audience is being addressed.

And here it has achieved its purpose, as some would view Obi as fetish or even question his devotion to the Church.

Why would he post a picture with Father Mbaka when he (Mbaka) said Obi is stingy and a failure.

Using Mbaka's pictures would amount to spiritual attachment and therefore an act of corruption on the sight of the law.

The administrative umbrella organisation of Igbo residents in the Northern states and the federal capital territory, the Igbo Delegates Assembly, IDA, has barred people of the South-East residing in the North from travelling to their states of origin during the 2019 general elections.

IDA warned that any person, who flouts the directive, would be fined an undisclosed amount of money.

The warning was issued following an extraordinary meeting of the body in Barnawa, Kaduna State and was contained in a statement jointly signed by its President General, Chief Chikezie Nwogu, and Secretary General, Austin Ofokansi Ifedinezi.

The statement reads, “We want our people to stay in their respective states and cast their votes. The era of running home during elections cannot be tolerated again.

“There is no need for us to go home at every election because if you do that you will automatically disenfranchise yourself.

“We have done a lot of sensitisation. We have also educated our people on this and we all agreed. That is why we decided to place an embargo. And if you travel, IDA will fine such person(s).”
