Also, they don't engage in ghost marriages, the traditional woman to woman marriages and are not looked upon as incomplete when they don't have male children.

So, fight for yourself.

This is what a tribalistic mind does to even the most learned of men, it makes you lose all sense of morality, humanity and rationality all you are interested us in scoring cheap tribalistic points. In your haste to point out that the reporter is Igbo your ignored the fact that the person who posted the story on Facebook was actually a northerner named Danladi Hamisu. You lost all sense of sympathy for a little girl who must be passing through hell right now and tried to make all manner of useless excuses for this atrocity. Exposed!: Igbo Town Where 80-Year Old Men Marry Ten-Old Girls.

By Tony Edike

Enugu — A worrisome case of child marriage has been uncovered by the UNICEF in the rural community of Umuerum in Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State where aged men of between 70 and 80 years are taking teenage girls of about nine to 12 years as wives.

The shocking discovery was made during a dialogue session with the people of the community as part of the six-day sensitization tour of UNICEF focal communities in Anambra State, which is under the UNICEF A Field Office, Enugu.

Before you turn it to a clash between Hausa and igbos.
Do take not that the face book page used in posting it is owned by a Hausa man. We all know under aged marriage is a problem perculiar to Hausas and Fulani and example is the Boko Haram sect who see no problem in marrying out small school girls. So just deal with your problem, the Yorubas igbos and south south have their own issues so instead of forming smart you should have just avoided this post.
The self righteous Igbo are the problem. The person who first posted it is saddened by the development, but as it is always with the self righteous Igbo, they are the ones who turned it to bashing of Hausa, Buhari and even Islam, as if such practices don't occur in Igboland.

My point is just to highlight that such practices are not limited to personalities, a region or a religion, but it is a social ill bedeviling all that should be condemned.

I didn’t see her as too young – Man who married 12-year-old girl in Enugu

A 37-year-old man, Michael Ugwu, who claims to work as a police SPY official at a federal ministry in Lagos state, has been arrested by the police in the state for taking a 12-year-old orphan, identified only as Nneka as wife.

Nneka’s grand father, Abada, a native doctor in Enugu State, reportedly gave out her out in marriage to Ugwu, an indigene of Aji in Enugu Ezike town, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The Punch is reporting that Ugwu, had gone to the Ipaja Police Division, Lagos to report that his teenage wife ran away from home and had since been missing. The police, upon finding the said missing wife, subsequently detained Ugwu for marrying a minor.

A police source at the Division said, “Ugwu came and reported that his wife absconded and that he even took a loan from a bank to marry her. He even sounded drunk when he came to the station.

Don't mix the two up. What happend in Niger state was an old man marrying an."underaged" looking girl.

In this one in Anambra, the girl looks well into her 20's.

So don't equate an old man marrying an adult girl with an Old man marrying a little girl, both are not the same thing at all.
Oh, she's in her 20s because she's Igbo, right?

Any explanation for this too?

A bride didn't look too happy as she married a

In photos shared online, the bride is seen wearing a scowl all through on what should have been a happy day.

Just like the case of Alhaji Nasfi in Niger State, the husband is old enough to be her father or grand father.

If the Igbo reporter, relayer or creator of that story wants something done, he should have told us details about this situation.

1. Where and where was the marriage contracted?
2. How are we to know the old man is not her father or grandfather?
3. Who's the middle aged man with the old man and the young girl?
4. Do couples embrace/hug in northern Nigeria, as they do here, especially involving an old man?

My guess is that the middle aged fellow could be the father of the girl and the older man her grand daddy, because it's only a grandaddy that'd snap like that with his grand daughter without being looked at as uncultured.

What has your Bubril done for these ones?

While his kids school abroad and have the best things in life, have we ever heard that Bubril gave scholarship or even vocational training to any of them to make their lives meaningful?

Bubril is the face of a wicked unground northern elite sqaud responsible for impoverishing their people to perpetually keep them under their control for political use.
Your Obi is stingy. Even Fr. Mbaka attested to it. “I can only bear witness to what I have tasted. You can be promising and doing for them in Anambra. In your capacity and what God has done for you as governor, God hates stinginess. What I am saying is not to please you, but what will save your life. Otherwise you and Atiku will fail." How can you go to a thanksgiving and just go away without giving anything. Are you there to just see their singing and dancing for free?

Do you think Atiku became the presidential candidate of the PDP by being stingy? He spent dollars, if you don't know. They tell you to bring money and you start saying Buhari has frozen my account. When did that happen? Is Buhari's work now to freeze people's accounts?

Tell Obi to shell out money or they'll shame you even in Igboland. He wants to become VP of Nigeria without spending a dime. He wants to be handed the key of the nation's treasury for free, as if he doesn't know how they do it in PDP.

PoliticsPMB: You Can’t Decide For North, ACF Tells Northern Elders Forum by MalcoImX(op):
The apex socio-cultural organisation of Northern Nigeria, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), has distanced itself from the Northern Elders Forum’s (NEF) opposition to President Muhammadu Buhari's re-election, saying that NEF cannot choose for the region who to support in 2019.

The secretary-general of the ACF, Anthony Sani, yesterday asserted that Prof Ango Abdullahi of the Northern Elders Forum cannot speak on behalf of the northern region against the re- election of President Buhari in 2019.

Sani was obviously reacting to statements credited to Prof Ango Abdullahi, the convener of NEF, that President Buhari's second term ambition would not receive the support of northerners due to his administration's failure to fulfil his campaign promises.

LEADERSHIP recalls that Abdullahi had at the weekend said that the 2019 presidential election would be won and lost based on the capacity, performance and competence of the candidates, and not on sentiment as was the case in 2015.

Speaking with journalists in his Arewa Farms in Zaria, yesterday, Prof Abdullahi said power brokers in the North would not support President Muhammadu Buhari's re-election in the 2019 general election because he had woefully failed to address the abject poverty and underdevelopment in the region.

He said another four years of Buhari administration would be catastrophic with the current government's unprecedented incompetence and enthronement of mediocrity in dealing with the horrendous spate of killings and general insecurity across the country.

But when contacted by our Kaduna correspondent over NEF's opposition to President Muhammadu Buhari's re- election, Sani remarked that even some members of the Northern Elders Forum do not share Abdullahi's position.

Sani said : “We have nothing to do with Northern Elders Forum because of factions. Which faction are we going to talk about?” “The Arewa Consultative Forum disassociated itself from the statement credited to the Northern Elders Forum when they passed a vote of no confidence on President Muhammadu Buhari and other northern leaders some months back. Even now kicking against the re- election of President Muhammadu Buhari and its position that the administration has failed, we still distance ourselves from their activities. It’s Nigerians that will decide whether the president has failed or succeeded.

“We are not a partisan organisation; it (NEF’s position) is not a consensus of our people, instead it is a partisan position. It is God that used the masses/citizens of the country in making Buhari a president and they (NEF members) are not in a position to decide for the citizens.

“What I can tell you is that we are not part of Northern Elders Forum's position against the re- election of President Muhammadu Buhari. I read that even some members of the Northern Elders Forum distanced themselves from the position against Mr President.

“Not quite long , ACF dissociated itself from Northern Elders Forum's communiqué for criticizing President Muhammadu Buhari and other Northern Nigerian leaders. In the communiqué, they passed vote of no confidence on Mr President and other Northern Nigerian leaders and we said we are not part of the communiqué.”

Insisting that the ACF was not in support of the position of some northern elders against the president's re-election, Sani added that “ it's Nigerians that will decide and they (Northern elders) are not speaking for the people of the North."

Prof Abdullahi had declared that the forum held the aces in the politics of the North, adding that NEF’s position was guided by the desire to achieve the greater interest of the Nigerian nation and not just the interest of the region.

“The ideal presidential candidate for 2019 should be a patriot, a committed nationalist, a bridge-builder and unifier of all Nigerians. He must believe in, and must have demonstrated in practical terms, a strong commitment to the principles of our common humanity and the transformation of our diversity into sources of strength, ” he had said
